Shula (played by Judy Bennett) seemed distracted as The Archers began this evening, with she and Jill Archer (Patricia Greene) discussing stumbling across Leonard Berry (Paul Copely) painting horses.

Whereas Jill stayed with the amateur painter, Shula met with Jim (John Rowe) to discuss an incident during a recent Christening at the local church which saw the religious character stumble and unable to give a speech at the ceremony.

With the pair having a fraught relationship on the BBC Radio 4 soap due to their conflicting religious beliefs, Jim and Shula seemed to make peace as the father-in-law tried to offer some comfort to the disheveled character.

However, at the end of the episode, Shula teased she could take a break way from the village after admitting to Jim she wasn’t sure what she believed in anymore.

Sitting down for a coffee at a local cafe, Jim recounted the events at the church, telling Shula: “I could see there was something wrong and I guess it was nothing to do with feeling faint?”

Shula replied: “I didn’t know you were going to be there. After our exchange of views…” she went on to say, before Jim interjected.

“It won’t be the first time I’ve put people off their stroke, merely by turning up,” Jim said, with Shula adding: “I thought you’d be pleased to see me struggle like that.”

Following his daughter-in-law’s sentiment, Jim told her: “Pleased? Really? That does me little credit. We’ve had our differences over the years Shula, and no doubt, a good many of them have centred on religion, but you walking away from the pulpit like that looked to me like an act of honesty. It was, wasn’t it?” he asked.

“I don’t know. I’d been so certain about what I wanted to say and then suddenly, I wasn’t. I couldn’t say anything. I don’t know if you’d call that honesty,” Shula signed.

However, Jim explained: “I would, without a doubt. But it also an act with required a degree of courage.”

He continued: “I admired you for it. So, I asked you for a coffee, not so I could crow, but to congratulate you,” to which Shula hit back: “You’d congratulate me for being a hypocrite?”

Trying to explain himself, Jim said: “As I said, that was honesty, not hypocrisy,” to which Shula replied: “But, it felt like hypocrisy Jim, standing up there, looking down on everyone, preparing to tell them how to conduct their lives.”

Offering another perspective, Jim told her: “But you didn’t do that, did you?” to which Shula agreed: “No, no I didn’t. Thank you, that was generous of you.”

Jim retorted: “I’m not an unfair man, I hope,” to which Shula added: “In that case, perhaps I can ask you something else.”

After a long pause, Shula said: “Please don’t tell anyone what I’ve just said. I’m not sure of anything at the moment Jim. It feels like the ground’s no longer solid beneath my feet.”

Teasing her exit, Shula continued: “I need to think all this through on my own,” but does this mean The Archers stalwart will leave Ambridge to do so?

Elsewhere in the countryside village, it seems Elizabeth Pargetter (Alison Dowling) could be facing a set-back as she continues to battle her depression.

With son Freddie Pargetter (Toby Laurence) back on the scene after a spell in jail for drug dealing, the youngster accidentally caused his mother to miss a therapy session which she had been attending to speak through her problems.

Though, sitting down with sister Lily Pargetter (Katie Redford) to talk through how they needed to help their mother, Freddie refused to work with his sister’s boyfriend Russ (Andonis James Anthony) to benefit Elizabeth.

Will Freddie and Russ’ feud be the catalyst to spark Elizabeth’s set back, or can the two men finally put their differences aside?

The Archers airs weekdays at 7pm on BBC Radio 4.

The 1980s time travel comedy trilogy is beloved by movie fans the world over.

But would the original cast ever come back for Back to the Future Part IV?

Doc Brown star Lloyd has spoken out again, saying he’d love to return for a fourth film.

Speaking with , the 79-year-old said: “I’d be delighted. I’d love to be in a fourth film, if they could come up with the right idea that extends the story and does it as well as the first three.”

Lloyd added: “Well, I think its a matter of, first of all, it’s important if Bob Zemeckis and Bob Gale are excited about doing another episode [of Back to the Future], I think, really, the most important thing is if they can come up with the right idea.

“I think that’s the challenge is to come up with something that really is as good as the originals. I suppose it could happen.

“I have not heard that they’re looking for that, if they’ve made up their minds … hey, here’s something we could do, and they believed in it then they might get going to do it.”

Lloyd made similar comments when asked by the Hollywood Reporter last year.

He said: “I think that one was done. We’ve told the stories and it should live on its own. I don’t think we need to reshoot that one, no.”

Marshall also told Yahoo Movies: ““Yeah [we won’t reboot Back To The Future], as long as I have my say. 

“No, that one exists just like E.T. – we’re never touching those.

“I love watching it. But how about we almost got the Chicago Cubs victory right?!”

The 79-year-old legend is best known for playing Doc Brown in the Back to the Future trilogy, a film referenced prominently in the upcoming Ready Player One.

Lloyd attend the Hollywood premiere of Steven Spielberg’s new movie this week where he was reunited with a replica of the DeLorean time machine.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, he said: “This is my first time seeing the film.

“I’m so glad to be here in support of Alan Silvestri and Steven Spielberg, they’re part of the Back to the Future family.”

Movie fans will know Spielberg executive produced the time travel classic, while Silvestri scored the iconic theme.

Now both director and composer are reunited for Ready Player One, with the tune appearing in the soundtrack.

Silverstri, who also sat in the DeLorean said: “It felt like seeing an old friend again, and getting to work with Steven as a director was the icing on the cake.

“With this score, Steven was very specific about what he wanted in certain places.

“Steven wanted an exact note-for-note recreation of the original music.”

Ready Player One’s synopsis read: “The film is set in 2045, with the world on the brink of chaos and collapse.

“But the people have found salvation in the OASIS, an expansive virtual reality universe created by the brilliant and eccentric James Halliday (Mark Rylance).

“When Halliday dies, he leaves his immense fortune to the first person to find a digital Easter egg he has hidden somewhere in the OASIS, sparking a contest that grips the entire world.

“When an unlikely young hero named Wade Watts (Tye Sheridan) decides to join the contest, he is hurled into a breakneck, reality-bending treasure hunt through a fantastical universe of mystery, discovery and danger.”

Wade’s avatar is known as Parzival and he travels across the OASIS in his very own DeLorean time machine.

In the original book, the car is a hybrid, including features from Knight Rider’s K.I.T.T. and Ghostbusters’ Ecto-1.

Ready Player One is released in UK cinemas on March 29, 2018.

Now 31, the former actor played Charlie Calvin in all three Santa Clause movies; the first of which was released in 1994.

It was 2002 before the next one was released, and 2006 when final chapter the Escape Clause found its way to cinemas.

Calvin hasn’t really acted much at all since the late 1990s, outside of those two films; although he did have a guest role in ER.

Recently, he partnered with college roommate Tyler Payne to open LP Studios in Glendale, California.

It’s a little known fact that Eric knocked his two front teeth out during production, causing a minor headache for bosses.

“The montage sequence where they’re getting [Scott Calvin] ready for his first Christmas, there’s a scene where we’re dancing down the hallway,” he said, according to ABC.

“That scene had to get pushed up in production because I had knocked my teeth out the night before.

“I was getting to that age where my teeth were falling out, so my bottom two teeth throughout the whole film are all fake teeth, because my bottom two teeth fell out naturally at the beginning of the film.”

He added: “There’s no real baby pictures of me or adolescent pictures of me without my teeth, because I always had fake teeth for acting.”

The 23-year-old X Factor hopeful spoke out about suffering from Crohn’s disease, a serious inflammatory bowel disease, during an appearance on Loose Women earlier today, explaining that singing helped with his symptoms.

“Everyone’s different, they deal with Crohn’s disease in different ways,” he said. “But for me, I relax my body and I’ve learnt how to control my nerves.”

The Welsh star revealed that singing combined with looking after himself in general had helped keep his condition manageable, adding: “You sing from your diaphragm, it’s important to have the support in your stomach.

“For me it’s helped my Crohn’s, that’s my experience,” he said.

Lloyd told the ITV panel about how he first discovered that he was suffering from the condition, recalling: “I was at university and we all had spaghetti bolognese one evening.”

The singer explained that the whole group had come down with food poisoning, but that his illness continued to get worse and worse.

“For six weeks I didn’t pass any stools and I began to put on a lot of weight,” he continued. “And then I lost nearly seven stone because I stopped eating because I’m afraid of eating. 

“That’s when my relationship with food completely changed. I was scared that what I was putting into my body was going to affect my body.”

Lloyd lost weight rapidly, dropping from approximately 20 stone to 12 before he finally went to his GP and was diagnosed with Crohn’s.

“People don’t understand how severe of an illness Crohn’s is,” he admitted, telling the Loose Women how his uncle had died as a result of the condition.

Luckily, Lloyd is now able to manage his condition through a combination of healthy diet and, occasionally, medication.

He first won the hearts of X Factor fans when his grandma Christine accompanied him to his audition, even offering Simon Cowell a packed lunch of fish finger sandwiches she had packed for her grandson’s snack.

Lloyd will be hoping to continue to impress the judges on Saturday night as he joins the remaining finalists performing renditions of George Michael songs for the third week of live shows.

Loose Women airs weekdays at 12.30pm on ITV, whilst X Factor continues Saturday at 8.10pm on ITV.

But owner Lloyd Williams and trainer Joseph O’Brien are hoping to give Rekindling his chance to win successive Melbourne Cups.

“A lot will depend on the handicapper,’’ Williams said.

“I’d like to think Rekindling could come back next year as he is a young horse and will only improve.

“But we saw with Almandin that it is not easy. Almandin went up 4.5kg on what he carried last year and he struggled today. Weight stops them.’’

Williams already owns the best stayer in Europe, Order Of St George, and he is looking forward to watching Rekindling take on the champion in the Ascot Gold Cup.

“We will probably send Rekindling back to Ireland and prepare this horse for the Ascot Gold Cup,’’ Williams said.

“Joseph can’t just have his father (Aidan) win it again with Order Of St George. We have to give him some competition.’’

Williams did suggest if Order Of St George was sent down under he would have gone close to winning the Melbourne Cup.

“I would have thought Order of St George at two miles with a bit of cut in the track there is no horse superior to him,’’ the owner said.

“Order Of St George is not a great traveller so I don’t think he will ever come – and we can’t be too greedy, we might have run a 1-2-3 today.’’

O’Brien conceded Rekindling had a long, arduous year and the young stayer deserves a break from racing.

“He has only disappointed us once all year and that was in the (English) Derby when he didn’t handle the track,’’ O’Brien said.

“He has kept improving all year and he was very good today. It is too early to be making plans for next year but let’s hope we can come back to Melbourne.’’
