Taking to Twitter to comment, one said: “Cannot be a coincidence that they’re are two players on the chase one called winston and another churchill.. #TheChase.”

“Has anyone noticed that they’ve put Winston next to Churchill?  #TheChase,” someone else wrote.

A third added: ““Winston Churchill, Teresa…. June.”

“If only June had been called May. Is this a wind up line up? #thechase #bradleywalsh #itv,” a tweet read.

Meanwhile, another chimed: “Whoever picks the teams for the chase is a real joker and I’m sure it’s always when @jenlion is on #winstonchurchill #theresajune.”

Richie is best known for portraying cheeky Alfie Moon on EastEnders and even dabbled in a music career when he did a charity cover of I’m Your Man for BBC Children in Need.

The next time fans will see him, Richie will be getting ready for the experience of a lifetime.

He said: “Six hundred calories a day is like a slice of cake on a Sunday. But I have got to go straight back in the West End to play a drag queen in a dress and so I will look great.

“To make the kids proud would be so nice. They were too young for the height of Alfie Moon and they have only seen daddy dressed as a drag queen.”

Hollie Arnold

One of two athletes who will be joining in on the fun is Paralympian Hollie Arnold.

She competes in category F46 javelin and has in total won seven gold medals at various events.

Will her competitive edge come out when it comes to the Bushtucker Trials?

AJ Pritchard

Former Strictly Come Dancing professional dancer AJ Pritchard is also going to be seen on our screens every night for the next few weeks.

During I’m A Celebrity…A Jungle Story, Pritchard said “his is the one show I watched as a child and wanted to do.”

So now, the 26-year-old will be living the dream from next weekend when the series begins.

Jordan North

As colleague Clara Amfo is taking part in Strictly, fellow Radio 1 DJ will be on I’m A Celeb.

North said: “I have got so many phobias and fears. I am worried I will let people down but I also want to give the trials my best go.

“I hope Radio 1 listeners will get behind me.”

Jessica Plummer

Ex-EastEnders actress Jessica Plummer is the next camp mate for I’m A Celebrity 2020.

Plummer played Chantelle Atkins who was dramatically killed off earlier this year in a domestic abuse storyline by husband Gray Atkins.

Now, she is taking a break from acting for a new adventure where she will be “pushed to my limit”.

She said: “I have got all the phobias. When my friends see me too, they are going to say ‘what the hell? This doesn’t make sense.”

“But I keep having to tell myself that it is good to face your fears.”

Giovanna Fletcher

Joining Plummer is podcast host and author Giovanna Fletcher.

Fletcher is probably also known for being the wife of McFly star Tom Fletcher and the sister of former Towie star Mario Falcone.

This time though, she will be going in it alone, entering the ITV reality series to take on petrifying challenges along with the rest of the other celebrities.

Victoria Derbyshire

Broadcaster and journalist Victoria Derbyshire is going to be in this year’s I’m A Celebrity.

The 52-year-old is the main presenter of BBC News at Nine and has presented BBC Panorama.

When asked about her phobias, she said: “I am not a fan of spiders or confined spaces and I don’t know what I am going to be like when I get there!”

Mo Farah

Last but certainly not least is Olympic champion Mo Farah CBE.

He is known as the most successful British track athlete in modern Olympic Games history.

Farah has won gold medals in the 2021 and 2016 Olympics in both the 5,000m and 10,000m runs.

He said:  “I’ve watched it on telly and thought to myself I would like to challenge myself and see what I can do – and so that is the whole reason behind it.”

This year’s I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! Will take place in Gwrych Castle in Abergele, North Wales for the first time after coronavirus travel restrictions prevented the show taking place in its usual spot Down Under. As Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly head to Wales, has the full list of celebrities Vernon Kay, Victoria Derbyshire and Shane Richie been revealed?

Victoria Derbyshire

The 52-year old journalist is rumoured to have signed up to the ITV show after The Victoria Derbyshire Show was axed earlier this year.

“Victoria is always game for a challenge so when she was approached for I’m A Celebrity she jumped at the chance,” a source said.

“It’s always something she’s wanted to do but because of her family, she’s never wanted to fly to Australia and be away from them for so long.

“When the show moved to Wales and the opportunity came up, she didn’t want to look a gift horse in the mouth so said yes straight away.”

AJ Pritchard

Ever since the professional Ballroom and Latin dancer quit Strictly Come Dancing he’s been heavily linked to I’m A Celebrity.

Addressing his exit, AJ said: “I did four years of Strictly, which I absolutely loved, but it was definitely the right time for me to venture into new things.

“Strictly wouldn’t allow a lot of things to happen that I wanted to happen, so it meant you do have to do that leap, and for me, it’s not a risk, it’s something I’m passionate about.”

Shane Ritchie

The EastEnders favourite has decided it’s time to face his fears and ITV bosses are thrilled they’ve managed to sign him up.

The actor could be set to follow in the footsteps of former Walford stars including Charlie Brooks and win the show.

“ITV have always wanted Shane for the jungle but with panto not happening this year and other work opportunities less likely, he decided this was the time to take the plunge,” a source said.

Jessica Plummer

Shane won’t be the only EastEnders star in the Castle as Chantelle Atkins star Jessica is reported to have signed up.

Jessica’s predecessor Jacqueline Jossa was crowned Queen of the Jungle last year. Will the soap star repeat her success?

Giovanna Fletcher

The author and presenter of the Happy Mum Happy Baby podcast, whose guests include none other than Kate Middleton, is rumoured to be heading into the Welsh castle.

Giovanna’s married to McFly star Tom Fletcher and the couple share sons Buzz, Buddy and Max.

The record-breaking Paralympian is set to join this year’s cast of stars.

She’ll likely be the one to beat when it comes to the Castle’s challenges after competing at the Rio Paralympics in 2016, the World Championships in 2017 and the 2018 Commonwealth Games.

Mo Farah

Mo Farah won a place in the hearts of the nation when he won gold on Super Saturday at the London 2012 Olympics.

“Mo’s been a big fan of the show for years and was just waiting for the right time in his career to do it,” a source told The Sun.

“He obviously has an excellent level of fitness and mental focus so will be great at the Bushtucker Trials and will be a positive addition for keeping up team morale for campmates – especially as a lot of the celebs are worried how cold it will be.”

Beverly Callard

The Coronation Street stalwart is set to earn £125,000 from her stint in the Welsh Castle.

After announcing her exit from the ITV soap earlier this year, the actress has been heavily tipped to join the line-up.

Ruthie Henshall

The West End actress, singer, dancer and former lover of Prince Edward will head into the I’m A Celebrity castle.

The stage star has admitted she was smuggled into Buckingham Palace during their relationship in the early 1990s.

Russell Watson

The Operatic tenor is heavily rumoured to be swapping the stage for the Castle camp this year.

On a recent appearance on Steph’s Packed Lunch, Russell shared: “It would be lovely! Not been paid for doing anything else this year!”

“I’m really claustrophobic, but that is to do with my association from when I had the [brain] tumours and the association with MRI scans and as soon as I go into anything that is an enclosed space I start to panic – I didn’t use to before!” Russell added.

Jordan North

The Radio 1 DJ completes this year’s I’m A Celebrity line-up.

Jordan will be swapping his 11am-1pm slots on Radio 1 on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays for North Wales.

I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! returns on ITV on Sunday 15th November.

If some of the above names don’t make the line-up, it seems bookmakers are putting their guesses forward as to who could take part.

Boyzone member and former Coronation Street star Keith Duffy, 46, is Coral’s favourite to be venturing to Wales.

The singer’s odds of signing up currently stand at 1/4, with his chances of winning being 5/1 as spokesperson John Hill said: “Keith Duffy has appeared on Celebrity Big Brother and Splash so he isn’t afraid of reality TV.

“His next challenge looks set to be on I’m A Celeb where he is odds-on to be a contestant this year.

“No matter what the new camp can throw at Duffy, we think he can handle it, and make him one of the early favourites to be crowned the winner of the series.”

I’m A Celebrity 2020: Line-up ‘unveiled’ after stars spotted ‘preparing for ITV show’ https://briefnews.eu/im-a-celebrity-2020-line-up-unveiled-after-stars-spotted-preparing-for-itv-show/ https://briefnews.eu/im-a-celebrity-2020-line-up-unveiled-after-stars-spotted-preparing-for-itv-show/#respond Sun, 25 Oct 2020 03:11:27 +0000 https://briefnews.eu/im-a-celebrity-2020-line-up-unveiled-after-stars-spotted-preparing-for-itv-show/

ITV viewers have been waiting patiently for this year’s 20th-anniversary series of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! which will be shunning the Australian jungle for the UK countryside for the first time ever. And as fans continue to speculate over who will be appearing on the programme this year, it’s thought the first eight stars for the show have been all-but-confirmed after a number of famous faces were seen appearing to arrive for a photoshoot ahead of the programme’s start-date next month.

The rumour-mill has gone into overdrive in recent weeks as talk of which famous faces might be on the billing has only grown.

However, it looks as though viewers won’t have to wait much longer to find out who will be entering the makeshift jungle this year.

Snaps were released appearing to show a selection of well-known names attending a top-secret photoshoot in the capital.

Stars who can be seen arriving include operatic tenor Russell Watson and TV veteran Vernon Kay.

In photos obtained by The Sun, others who can be seen arriving include BBC favourite Victoria Derbyshire and Coronation Street legend Beverley Callard.

Other names who reportedly complete the line-up include EastEnders star Jessica Plummer and former Strictly professional, AJ Pritchard.

“This year’s collection of celebrity contestants are shaping up to be nothing if not eclectic, with the latest signings,” a source told The Sun.

Express.co.uk has contacted a representative for I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! for comment on the speculation.

The trailer shows the pair paying homage to the show’s famous dingo dollar challenges.

Ant says: “Look, let’s call Kiosk Kev! He’ll know the way to camp,” before stepping into a phonebox.

“Hello, Kev it’s us. We’re on our way to camp but we’re a bit lost,” he remarks before Dec goes onto quiz his host on what Kiosk Kev has told him.

“He said, ‘According to a recent survey, what percentage of people stay in their pyjamas all day at the weekend? Is it A 23 percent or B, 29 percent?”

Fans of the show soon reacted to the update, with one sharing: “B****y hell Ant. That’s a cracking impression of Kev! @antanddec.”

Another said: “Can’t wait for this to come on. One of my favourite programmes to watch.”

“I wait all year for this, we need a good laugh best ever,” commented a third.”

Another fan echoed: “Love these boys! And what a great impression Ant xx.”

Strictly Come Dancing isn’t far off now and already excitement is in the air. So much so, that judge Craig Revel Horwood, couldn’t wait to keep his sassy comments about the contestants to himself. And it seems he has his eyes on actor Bill Bailey.

In a recent chat he noted that Bill will be one to watch this year, but for all the wrong reasons.

When asked how the 55-year-old will perform on the dance floor, Craig remarked: “Terrible.

“I’m looking forward to the disasters!”

Hey ho, we all need a chuckle after very tough and concerning year.

Despite insisting her win was a “fluke”, fans are a little concerned that her experience will give her a “head start”.

Taking to social media, one viewer wrote: “I really like Maisie but not only is she professionally trained already, but she was also trained by Strictly professionals themselves for a Children in Need special.

“As is the case every year, some contestants are given a head start against the others and that isn’t fair.”

Someone else agreed with the observation: “Hoping someone else wins, who is not trained or had a go before.”

This Morning hosts ‘replaced’ in huge change to presenting line-up: ‘We plan to change’ https://briefnews.eu/this-morning-hosts-replaced-in-huge-change-to-presenting-line-up-we-plan-to-change/ https://briefnews.eu/this-morning-hosts-replaced-in-huge-change-to-presenting-line-up-we-plan-to-change/#respond Sun, 14 Jun 2020 13:43:53 +0000 https://briefnews.eu/this-morning-hosts-replaced-in-huge-change-to-presenting-line-up-we-plan-to-change/

This Morning has become a staple of British weekday television, with Phillip Schofield, 59, and Holly Willoughby, 39, presenting the show four days a week. Eamonn Holmes, 60, and his wife Ruth Langsford, 60, take over duties on the ITV show for the Friday edition of the programme as well as filling in during the holiday breaks. However, it is now being reported bosses are looking to diversify the hosting line-up and would like to welcome a black presenter to front the show. With none of the current stars set to quit, could one of them be replaced as a new member of the team is introduced?

For the past 11 years, Phillip and Holly have been hosting the programme together, with the former only joined by another presenter whilst his co-star has been on maternity leave.

Rochelle Humes, 31, temporarily replaced the former Celebrity Juice star for several weeks in 2018 when the host joined Dec Donnelly, 44, to oversee proceedings on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!

There has been speculation recently one of the pair was going to quit, but with neither planning to jump ship, they could be replaced on a rotation schedule in the future to accommodate a new host.

This is because the show doesn’t currently have a black presenter fronting the programme and reports are suggesting things could be set to change.

With the Black Lives Matter movement continuing to spark a conversation about the representation of the black community in the media, it seems bosses are now considering how they can rectify this.

READ MORE: Pimlico Plumbers’ boss rages at some furloughed staff in explosive row

According to The Mail On Sunday, Martin Frizell, editor for This Morning, is looking into how ITV can address representation in regards to their hosting line-up.

The show boss reportedly said on a video call: “There is not a black presenter on any of the programmes today. We plan to change that, we [This Morning] are looking into it.”

An ITV source also added to Mr Frizell’s comments, telling the newspaper: “It’s a tough one for Martin.

“He appeared to really mean what he said so it will be difficult to simply give the presenter the once-a-week Friday slot because he would leave himself open to claims of tokenism.”

Express.co.uk contacted a representative of the show, but they declined to comment on the speculative reports.

With the source comments suggesting the Friday slot could be out the question, could a new presenter replace Phillip or Holly in regular slots during the first four days of the week?

Bosses could even consider bringing in a trio of hosts in what would be a huge step in changing the current format.

As well as the main four hosting the programme, they are regularly joined by a team of reporters to provide expertise and speak with members of the public.

Earlier this month, presenter Alison Hammond, 45, opened up about her own experiences of being a black woman in light of the Black Lives Matter protests, which have been sparked following the death of George Floyd, an unarmed black man who died after being apprehended by a white police officer.

On Blackout Tuesday, a day where people across the world took a step back from their daily lives to educate themselves on the impact of racism, the presenter gave an emotive speech.

Alison told Phillip and Holly: “I believe this movement, Black Lives Matter, is so very important and so wonderful when I see my white, my Asian brothers and sisters standing by Black Lives Matter.

“It means they understand, they can’t understand fully, but they understand what we’re going through as black people.

“It’s not about all lives matter, obviously we know that it’s all about the fact if black lives mattered, we wouldn’t be in this situation.”

“When black lives matter, all lives will matter,” Alison added.

Alongside many other television production studios, ITV issued a statement to show their support for the Black Lives Matter movement.

Taking to social media, the broadcaster’s official Twitter page posted the message which read: “We stand in solidarity with our black colleagues, storytellers and viewers around the world because #BlackLivesMatter.”

Phillip retweeted the post on his own social media pages with both hosts sharing a black square on their Instagram feeds in solidarity for Blackout Tuesday.

This Morning airs weekdays at 10am on ITV.

Fortunately, the BBC has revealed which professional dancers will be returning to the dancefloor for another year but the celebrity line-up all not be revealed until August 2019. Neil Jones

Neil Jones is a four-time undefeated British National Professional Champion and three-time winner of the World Amateur Latin Championships.

Neil has been a Strictly professional since 2016, dancing in the series’ group numbers and Christmas Specials but last year, he had his first celebrity partner.

He was paired with footballer Alex Scott, reaching week 11 of the competition.

Oti Mabuse

Oti Mabuse won Strictly Come Dancing 2019 with soapstar Kelvin Fletcher.

She was originally supposed to be partnered with Jamie Laing, but he had to withdraw from the competition after he sustained a foot injury.

Oti became a professional dancer on Strictly Come Dancing in 2015 and has enjoyed memorable partnerships including with Danny Mac, Jonnie Peacock and Graeme Swann.

Oti is also a dance captain on BBC One’s The Greatest Dancer.

Sarah James, Executive Producer, BBC Studios, says: “It’s wonderful to welcome back so many talented individuals within this year’s line-up of Strictly Come Dancing professional dancers.

“They are each at the top of their game and as a cast are simply incredible. We can’t wait to see what magic they will bring to the ballroom this year. Strictly 2020 promises to be an unforgettable series, with more exceptional choreography and world-class dancing.”

Kate Phillips, Controller of BBC Entertainment, says: “We are very proud of Strictly Come Dancing and our professional dancers.

“They are undoubtedly in a class of their own and they’ll be back in force this autumn to put our class of 2020 through their paces, providing another series of unmissable TV!”

This wouldn’t be Richard’s first time to star in a reality show.
