Battle Royale update v3.4 is live on PS4, Xbox One, PC and iOS.

As Fortnite goes , Epic Games has released the patch notes.

The update introduces the brand new guided missile weapon, and replaces the grenade launcher with a seasonal egg launcher.

The guided missile lets you take control of the rocket after it has fired.

The only drawback is that you’re unable to move your character once you’ve taken control of the rocket, so you’re open to attacks.

Launch Pad drop rate has also increased, while Sniper Shootout v2 becomes the latest limited time mode.

WEAPONS + ITEMS

  • Guided Missile added.
  • Stats:

 – Damage to Players: Epic – 105; Legendary – 110

 – Damage to Environment: 1000

 – Lifetime: 18 seconds

 – Time Between Shots: 3.13 seconds

 – Rocket Speed: 1300 units/second

 – Rocket Health: 100

 – Take direct control of the missile after it’s fired.

 – Once you take on the missile’s point-of-view, you’re unable to move your character.

 – Disconnect from the missile at any time, in which the missile will continue its trajectory.

 – Moves slightly slower than a regular rocket but does the same damage.

 – Epic and Legendary rarity.

 – Uses Rocket ammo.

 – Found in Treasure Chests + Supply Drops.

  • Adjusted rarity colors on Shotguns to more closely represent their effectiveness.
  • NOTE: Characteristics (such as weapon damage, drop chances) are completely unchanged.
  • Tactical Shotguns are now Common/Uncommon/Rare (was Uncommon/Rare/Epic).
  • Pump Shotguns are now Uncommon/Rare (was Common/Uncommon).
  • The Egg Launcher has been added as a seasonal item that replaces the Grenade Launcher (only a cosmetic change).
  • Increased Launch Pad drop rate by 25%.

Bug Fixes

  • Issues with the Boogie Bomb are fixed and this item is now re-enabled.
  • Fixed an issue which caused spike traps to trigger when a player stands on top of the wall the trap is attached to.
  • Fixed an issue which prevented players from entering ADS mode upon landing when they hold the aim button while jumping.
  • Fixed an issue which caused the Hunting Rifle to fire inaccurately when crouched or at close range.
  • The Remote Explosives detonator is now correctly removed from your inventory if another player destroys your placed explosives and you have no more in your inventory.
  • Fixed a bug where players could remain in sprint while using the Remote Explosive detonator but not play the detonator animation.

GAMEPLAY

  • Limited Time Mode: Sniper Shootout v2
  • Hunting Rifle and Crossbow added.
  • Revolver removed.
  • Downed state is disabled. Downed players are immediately eliminated.
  • Legendary weapons can only be found in Supply Drops.
  • Epic weapons can only be found in Treasure Chests.
  • Heavy Ammo Drop Quantities:

 – Floor: 6

 – Chest: 6

 – Ammo Box: 12

 – Supply Drop: 18

 – Llama: 90

  • Rearranged the order in which pieces fall off of player built structures as they are damaged.
  • Increased the number of loot spawns on the warmup island.
  • Removed 30 FPS mode from Xbox One and PS4.
  • In v3.4 we made some significant GPU optimizations which improved visual quality, including resolution in 60 FPS mode, and we now feel there is very little reason to play at 30 FPS. – Developer Comment

Oculus’ launcher software is, unsurprisingly, focused on running VR apps from the Oculus Store. But that’s probably not how you get all your apps — you may have Rift-ready games in Steam, for instance. That won’t be a problem from now on. Oculus has updated its portal to offer fast access to any Rift-compatible app on your PC, whether it comes from Steam or anywhere else. You won’t have to think about removing your Rift headset just to see the full extent of your app library.

The update also brings a Parties feature that lets you and up to three fellow Rift owners chat across apps, so you don’t have to wonder whether your friends are ready for a multiplayer match.

This should help you maintain immersion while you’re wearing the Rift, of course, but it’s also an acknowledgment that the Oculus Store isn’t quite so central experience as the company might like. If Oculus is going to spur Rift adoption, it needs to show that there are plenty of interesting apps to try… and like it or not, the Store doesn’t have a monopoly on the best examples. If Oculus eats some humble pie now, it might pay off with stronger Rift sales down the road.

We’ve seen attempts at free-flowing virtual worlds from the likes of Second Life and the (dearly departed) PlayStation Home, but with VR we’re getting another shot at it. First Facebook Spaces appeared, and now Valve is beta testing SteamVR Home. The Destinations Workshop previously allowed users to build and customize spaces, but opting into Home puts the world up front when they start SteamVR. Now Destinations is Home, and people who have been using it will find all of their avatars and wearables in the new space.

With Home, the virtual environments are higher res “and support animation, sound, games, and interactivity.” If you find one you like, you can set it as your default space, and once it’s set up the way you want, you can choose to open it up to the public or invite friends in for a visit complete with voice chat.

To opt into SteamVR Beta:
Open Steam on your desktop
Find SteamVR in your Library under Tools
Right click and go to Properties
Select the Betas tab and pick SteamVR Beta from the dropdown

At just $ 15,000 a unit, the drones are expendable and can be used in dangerous situations. LOCUS is now in its development and testing phase.

The German company is now facing penalties.

Mass production of the US, state-of-the-art, shoulder-fired grenade launcher XM25 has stalled since German company Heckler & Koch (H&K) has refused to deliver a key detail, fearing the weapon would hit people directly in violation of the 19th century international treaty, DPA reported.

Heckler & Koch is referring to 1868 St Petersburg international law convention that says grenades can’t be fired directly at a person. According to the document, grenades may be thrown at a building or near a person, but not straight at them.

The German company has already received €33 million (more than $ 35 million) for the services it failed to provide, according to ATK group. The Germans did deliver the launching mechanisms in question for the first test models, but the delivery didn’t go further after that.

Twelve years devoted to the development of the XM25 Counter-Defilade Target Engagement System (CTDE) may result in nothing and now the US Orbital ATK group, the producer of the XM25, filed a lawsuit early February, going after €23 million in damages.

For now, the German company is demanding a declaration from ATK that would guarantee they would follow the international rule.

However, the US wasn’t a party to the 1868 convention and thus doesn’t find itself legally obliged to obey the rules listed there.

The rule, however, is “generally accepted,” and the US is not an exception, head of Heckler & Koch Norbert Scheuch stressed, Germany’s N-TV reported.

“I need legal certainty about the delivery, I don’t have it now. It’s not that we do not want to deliver, but we can’t deliver,” he added.

ATK Orbital responded by saying: “H&K is looking for excuses for its failure.”

The company had already delivered components for some prototypes, but “all of a sudden” started to talk about the convention only now.

The CTDE, a semi-automatic grenade launcher that fires grenades set to explode in mid-air or near a target, targeting enemies with shrapnel, was supposed to revolutionize the US army, its manufacturers said last year.

There has been high expectation for the grenade launcher that is reportedly capable of shooting around the corner.

The US Army called the XM25 a “number one materiel solution to mitigate a critical capability gap” for dismounted soldiers. The first production batch was supposed to include 105 launchers.

The Google Now Launcher has been the go-to choice for Android users looking for a simple, stock home screen since its general availability in 2014. If you had a skinned phone and wanted something that looked a little more like “Google’s Android,” you could hop down to the Play Store, install the app, and get a home screen with Google’s predictive Google Now cards integrated.

Sadly, the Google Now Launcher will probably be gone soon. According to Android Police, Google is sending out letters to OEM partners declaring that the Google Now Launcher will be retired in Q1 2017. Devices that have the launcher installed will be able to continue using it, but the app will no longer show up on the Play Store.

Google actually has two home screen apps on the Play Store, the Google Now Launcher—which is widely available and the stock launcher on the Nexus phones—and the Pixel Launcher, which is exclusive to the Pixel and Pixel XL. Neither app actually contains the code for the home screen; they are just small “enabler” apps.
