Have there been many other hairy moments during the 25zero expeditions?

On a mountain in Ecuador called Illiniza Sur, I slipped on something called La Rampa (The Ramp). A fall from where I was would have been a fatal 500 meters down a very steep face. It got my heart rate up, I can tell you. On my descent of Mount Speke in Uganda’s Rwenzori mountains, I also slipped and popped my right knee out. It was painful, but fortunately I didn’t have an ACL to rupture as there isn’t one in my right knee due to an old sports injury.

Losing my expedition partner in a blizzard during my Trans Antarctic expedition in 1999 was also an interesting moment. It was -40°C with high winds and my survival would have been almost impossible without the shelter of the tent, which he was carrying. I found him after several hours, but suffered frostbite as a result.

In 2015, you beamed footage from the top of one of the 25zero mountains, Carstensz Pyramid in Papua, Indonesia, into the COP21 Climate Change Conference in Paris, which contributed to an international climate deal being reached. That’s pretty badass.

It was a pretty special moment, although work is still needed on the Paris Accord to make it effective. The Accord is like going on a diet. The legally binding bit is the fact we’ve all signed up to going on the diet. The amount we’ve agreed to lose however isn’t enough.

The EastEnders newcomer was dramatically revealed to be a member of the Slater family after her true identity was exposed in her last appearance on the BBC soap.

It looked as though Hayley (played by Katie Jarvis) was dead set on turning Martin Fowler (James Bye) against Stacey Fowler (Lacey Turner), however it turned out she was in cahoots with the mother-of-three and was in fact her cousin.

While she hasn’t been seen in recent episodes, Hayley will be returning soon as the Slater family set up for a huge comeback.

Ahead of some explosive comebacks, the actress who plays Hayley, Katie Jarvis, has divulged some big secrets about her character.

“Deep down, she’s not all evil. She’s just a typical Slater – hard on the surface, but once you get to know her, you’ll see most of her intentions are good,” the 26-year-old revealed in an interview with Radio Times.

“But, I have to say, I do love coming to work and getting to be a little bit naughty.”

It looks as though Hayley will set out to cause more mischief on the Square with her bad behaviour, however, she could have a heart of gold underneath her tough exterior.

Katie also went on to say she initially had a frosty reception from fans of the programme, before it was revealed who her character really was.

“My Twitter went absolutely mad. At first it was all, ‘Homewrecker!’ and ‘Leave Martin alone!’ But as soon as they discovered I’m a Slater, it all changed. I’ve had a lot of support,” she dished.

Hayley has been added to the fold as the iconic family return to their old stomping ground.

Big Mo (Laila Morse) and Kat (Jessie Wallace) will return to the soap shortly, bringing the Slater clan back with full force.

A trailer has been released ahead of the characters’ comebacks which shows Kat’s funeral, but there’s a shocking twist.

Mo will return with the news that Kat has died, however, it looks as though the residents of Albert Square will get a big surprise when the leopard-clad diva turns up to her own wake.

The arrival of Kat and Mo timed with Hayley’s appearance could prove to be linked in a more detailed way, but whatever happens, the family are sure to raise some hell.

EastEnders boss John Yorke announced the Slaters’ return last year, where he revealed: “The Slaters are one of the all-time great East Enders families and Albert Square has never felt quite the same since they left.”

BlackBerry announced a new service called Jarvis today that’s aimed at helping automakers test the code they’re loading into cars for security flaws.

Jarvis uses a technique known as static analysis to seek out bugs in the pre-built application binaries users feed it. That should provide automakers with the information needed to find those bugs before they can be exploited by an attacker who might put a car or its passengers at risk.

Providing automakers with security tools is key as cars become increasingly connected and autonomous. If a car is to be safe in this modern era, automakers need to worry about security flaws, especially in light of past issues that have allowed hackers to take control of different vehicle functions thanks to issues with their code.

BlackBerry’s new service is particularly well-positioned for the auto market, since carmakers often use hundreds of different software components, including some that come prepackaged from other companies. Jarvis allows those businesses to scan even prebuilt binaries that didn’t originate in-house, which should help provide additional peace of mind.

It’s also good news for BlackBerry, which is working to dive deeper into markets outside the smartphone industry. The Canadian company has a history with the auto market, after it acquired QNX Software Systems in 2010. That deal added QNX, a Unix-like operating system meant for embedded applications like automobiles, to the BlackBerry portfolio. QNX is also underpinning the company’s ambitions in other markets, such as smart home and health care.

Jarvis will be available through a software-as-a-service model. Customers will pay for the system based on how much data they want to scan, purchased in bundles. It’s fully automated, so BlackBerry hopes that will encourage customers to scan their software more often, compared to manual scanning that they may already be performing.

In the future, BlackBerry could expand Jarvis to reach outside the automotive market, since other industries like aerospace, health care, and defense could all make use of its static analysis capabilities.
