Superstore‘s Sandra and Jerry are soon set to tie the knot — and TVLine has your exclusive first look at the momentous occasion.

Cloud 9’s resident sad-sack will say “I do” to her on-again/off-again boyfriend in a wedding officiated by onetime boss-turned-fellow sales associate Glenn, and airing Thursday, Jan. 30 on NBC. The bride and groom are all smiles in the photos above and below, but there is cause for concern leading up to their holy matrimony.

“When Jonah’s attempt to help the caterers and Dina’s obsession with wedding security threaten to derail it all, it falls to Amy to make sure Sandra’s big day isn’t ruined,” according to the official logline. Meanwhile, “Garrett struggles with what to say in his Best Man toast,” and “Mateo finds that starting a new relationship may be more complicated than he thought.”

Not mentioned in the above synopsis is Carol, who may or may not sabotage the wedding. Sandra’s (former?) arch-nemesis and Jerry’s ex-girlfriend recently returned from a life-altering trip to Sedona with a new, hippy-dippy outlook on life, though Sandra remains unconvinced that Carol has actually changed.

Sandra and Jerry first got engaged in the Season 4 finale, while Mateo was being swept up in an I.C.E. raid. The impromptu proposal was followed by a truly pathetic engagement party in last October’s “Testimonials.”

The invitation arrived Nov. 10. Democrats in Iowa, whose caucuses kick off presidential voting, have extended similar invites.

Video offering panoramic and aerial views of Aleppo has been released by the Syrian ministry of tourism in an apparent attempt to say that the country’s historic pearl is finally ready to receive visitors.

The pitch comes almost two years after the Syrian army defeated jihadist rebel groups besieging the city in a series of fierce battles. The fighting damaged many of Aleppo’s historical buildings and much of its industrial infrastructure. The government video shows the destroyed buildings being repaired or rebuilt, while heavy trucks carry away stones and rubble.

A RT crew recently visited the city, filming how the key infrastructure is being slowly rebuilt from ruins. Locals even told an RT reporter they can finally live peacefully like in the “good old days.”

Militants seeking to overthrow the Syrian government seized parts of Aleppo in 2012. Syrian government forces held on to the old city despite the blockade. The fortunes of war changed in late 2015, when Russia sent an expeditionary force into Syria at the request of Damascus. Syrian government forces and allied militias finally ousted the rebels from Aleppo in December 2016, although the city is still in range of the militants’ artillery and suffers an occasional attack.

Disney knows a good thing when they see it, so they’re all-in on live-action remakes of their animated hits. The latest: Aladdin! The 1992 animated musical featuring a now-iconic vocal performance from the late Robin Williams gets a live-action update courtesy of Guy Ritchie. Will Smith takes on the role of the Genie, who grants wishes to Aladdin, a thief who wants to woo a princess. An Aladdin teaser is now available to start getting you excited about the film. See it below.

Will Aladdin work as a live-action movie? The biggest wildcard here is the character of the Genie. In the 1992 film, animation was an essential part in bringing Robin Williams’ wild, manic voice work to life. Williams is sadly gone, and now Will Smith is stepping into the Genie’s lap to take on the part. Smith can certainly be funny, and he’s got a wealth of charisma. But will that work here? We’ll have to wait and see.

In the original film, “street rat” Aladdin frees the Genie from a magic lamp, earning three wishes in the process. Aladdin plans to uses these wishes to win over the beautiful Princess Jasmine, but the evil Jafar has other plans. Much singing follows, and Gilbert Gottfried voices a parrot. It’s one of the best films in what’s known as the “Disney Renaissance,” in which the House of Mouse returned to making animated musical films.

Guy Ritchie is at the helm of this live-action reboot, with Mena Massoud starring as Aladdin, Naomi Scott playing Princess Jasmine, Marwan Kenzari in the role of Jafar, and Billy Magnussen playing a new character – a prince who wants to win Jasmine’s hand in marriage. Alan Menkin, who wrote the music for the original film, is handling the music here as well, with new songs from Menkin, Howard Ashman and Tim Rice, as well as La La Land songwriters Pasek & Paul.

“It is really interesting because [Guy Ritchie] doesn’t come from a place of a big deep background in musicals,” Pasek & Paul said. “And that’s sometimes really cool and a great way to shake things up. His take on ‘Aladdin’ is very muscular and action-packed, and that’s a very cool energy and point of view to bring into the mix.”

Aladdin joins an ever-growing list of live-action Disney remakes. Tim Burton’s Dumbo and Jon Favreau’s The Lion Kingset to hit theaters in 2019, and Maleficent 2 will arrive in 2020. Disney is also developing live-action remakes for their streaming service – titles like The Sword in the Stone and Lady and the Tramp. A Lilo and Stitch live-action remake was just announced as well.

Aladdin opens May 24, 2019.

“President Trump repeatedly humiliates the Saudis by saying they can’t last 2 weeks without his support. This is the recompense for the delusion that one’s security can be outsourced,” Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif tweeted.

“We again extend our hand to our neighbors: let’s build a ‘strong region’, and stop this conceit,” Iran’s chief diplomat added, just two days after Trump proudly claimed that Saudi security solemnly rests in Washington’s hands.

While there are no American military bases in Saudi Arabia, one of the closest US allies in the region, with which Donald Trump has signed a $ 110 billion arms deal, owes its security to Washington, the US president claimed Tuesday, urging Riyadh and the rest of the ‘rich’ countries to cough up cash for American support.

“I love the King, King Salman. But I said ‘King, we’re protecting you, you might not be there for two weeks without us. You have to pay for your military,’” Trump said at a Mississippi rally in undiplomatic remarks, without specifying when the comments to the monarch had been made.

Trump made similar remarks on Thursday in Minnesota, where he told his Republican supporters that the oil-rich nation should pay for their defense. “I said, ‘excuse me, King Salman’, he is my friend, ‘do you mind paying for the military? Do you mind? Pay!’… I said, ‘do you mind paying?’ ‘But nobody has asked me’, I said ‘but I’m asking you, King,’” the president added, claiming that the monarch had agreed to increase contributions.

While only demanding more monetary contributions from Riyadh, Trump embarked on an open hostility path with Tehran, by slapping sanctions on the country after withdrawing from the cornerstone JCPOA nuclear agreement in May. With more punitive measures due to come into effect November 4, the Islamic Republic seems to be eager to muster any support it can get against the belligerent White House administration.

Washington has traditionally supported the Sunni dominant actors in the Gulf and has established a strong military foothold in the region, basing the US Fifth Fleet in Bahrain, a large Air Force contingent in Qatar, in addition to troops that are deployed in Kuwait and Jordan. The only exceptions to the rule are Iraq, where sectarian violence is rife between Shia and Sunnis, and Oman, where the majority of the population belongs to the Ibadi school.

Iran and Saudi Arabia are notorious regional rivals in a decades-long feud fueled by religious differences. Iran, a largely Shia Muslim country, has been challenging Saudi Sunni power across the region by supporting opposing sides in the conflicts in Syria and Yemen. The rivalry also stretches to other parts of the Middle East and their support for different political factions in Iraq and Lebanon.

An invitation from Erdogan, delivered to Putin by Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Çavusoglu on Friday, said: “Your dearest friend, Mr. Erdogan, has asked to convene his greetings and best wishes, he is hoping for your visit to Istanbul in the near future. You have an arrangement to go to a fish restaurant.” Cavusoglu was addressing the Russian leader at a high-profile meeting in Moscow. 

The ‘fish restaurant’ story goes back all the way to the BRICS summit in July. Back then Putin reminded his Turkish counterpart that once Erdogan invited him to dine at a fish restaurant. When Erdogan stressed that the invitation still stands, the Russian president pointed out that the issue with meat exports to Turkey must first be sorted out.

It seems Erdogan took the hint: In late July Russia started meat exports to Turkey – so now he may actually deliver on the fish restaurant meeting too. 

Relations between Russia and Turkey have been growing closer, which has seemingly angered Ankara’s longstanding ally, the US. Ankara and Washington ties are on downward spiral as they lock horns over Turkey’s decision to buy –ahead-of-schedule, even– Russian S-400 missile systems. Erdogan’s government is also adamant on pushing ahead with the purchase of American F-35 jets, which US lawmakers are trying to block, due to Ankara’s S-400 deal.

Earlier this week Russian arms exporter Rosoboronexport revealed that Turkey will receive its first batch of S-400 air defense systems next year. Following the statement the State Department’s Heather Nauert noted that the US had already made it “very clear what could trigger sanctions for other countries and entities around the world,” if they go ahead with buying the Russian systems.

Even as wearable devices have become more popular, the hardware backing many Wear OS (formerly known as Android Wear) devices hasn’t seen an update since Qualcomm’s 2100 SOC arrived in 2016. Now, as promised, a new chip will be unveiled later this year, and this afternoon Qualcomm invited journalists to a reveal event scheduled for September 10th. The invite only had a small smartwatch diagram and the words “It’s Time,” but Wareable’s interview with exec Pankaj Kedia already gave us some ideas about what to expect.

The new hardware will be built from the ground up for a wearable device, instead of trying to shrink smartphone technology, and should improve battery life. Plus, it will allow for smaller devices so that everyone can enjoy more stylish options. The big question, of course, is if we’ll see the first smartwatches packing Qualcomm’s new hardware at the event, like perhaps a Pixel Watch from Google?

Fortnite Mobile developer Epic Games has sent out Friend download codes to iOS users.

Fortnite Mobile players might want to check their inboxes, as emails have started to roll out to fans.

“You have new friend invites ready to send!” the email reads. “Share them with your friends to give them instant access to the Fortnite Invite Event on iOS.

“You may need to re-start the app to see your friend invitations.”

To send Friend Invites, players are encouraged to launch Fortnite on their mobile devices, before signing in with the registered account.

Once signed in, players can tap the Friend Invite button to add fellow players.

It’s then just a matter of clicking the share button to send the invitation.

To participate in the trial, players need an iPhone 6S/SE, iPad Mini 4, iPad Pro, iPad Air 2, iPad 2017 devices or later. “Each friend invite link can only be redeemed once,” Epic adds.

How to Send your Friend Invites in Fortnite Mobile…

1. Launch Fortnite on your mobile device.

2. Sign In with your registered account.

3. At the Lobby Screen, tap the Friend Invite Button.

4. Click the share button to send the invite link to your friends.

Fortnite Mobile is described as the full Battle Royale experience with no compromises.

It features the same map, the same content, the same unlockables, gameplay and even the same weekly updates.

Anybody yet to receive a download code will be placed on the waiting list.

Invitations will be sent out based on sign up order, device models and even the proximity to the data centre.
