Tourists who want an out of this world holiday could very soon stay in a hotel in space.

An inflatable space hotel is hoping to launch by 2021 for tourists to stay in.

The idea was originally created in 1999 by billionaire Robert Bigelow and his private company Bigelow Aerospace.

It has since evolved into the Bigelow Space Operations who want to send the bouncy hotels into orbit.

But would tourists really want to stay in one? The cost may mean that many won’t be able to experience it.

Bigelow revealed that the cost per passenger is most likely to be in the “low eight figures”, so a cool £10 million minimum.

He also revealed how they will be “ready for launch in 2021”.

Measuring 17 metres, the inflatables will link together in as separate modules.

According to the BBC, staying in space also means guests could see “16 sunrises and sunsets” with a space hotel moving at such speed that it would circle the earth every 90 minutes.

The modules were tested in 2016 when Bigelow sent an inflatable section to attach to the International Space Station.

The rooms that people could book would be twice the size of the one currently attached to the station.

A press statement from the company explained: “These single structures that house humans on a permanent basis will be the largest, most complex structures ever known as stations for human use in space.”

For those who want to have the experience but stay on the ground, similar versions of bubble hotels can be found in Bath.

It isn’t even the weirdest place to stay in the world.

A hotel in Peru allows guests to dangle at 13,000 feet as it is tethered to a rock in the sacred valley Cusco.

Other weird hotels include an underwater pod in Tanzania and Fogo Island Inn found on a secluded island.

WASHINGTON (AP) — President Donald Trump may be out of town, but one plucky protester is keeping an eye on the White House.

A giant inflatable chicken bearing the unmistakable hairstyle of the commander in chief transfixed tourists and television cameras in the nation’s capital Wednesday afternoon.

Twitter users quickly posted dozens of images of the irate-looking fowl with a golden pompadour seemingly glaring down at the White House from a nearby green space known as the Ellipse. The chicken even appeared clearly in the background of a major news network’s live interview.

The Trump chicken balloon has appeared in Washington before, most recently before a protest in April to pressure Trump into releasing his tax returns. It even has its own Twitter account: @TaxMarchChicken.

The White House received an unexpected visitor in the form of a 23-foot-tall inflatable chicken made to resemble President Donald Trump. The owner said he placed it behind the White House to egg the president into releasing his tax returns.

An inflatable chicken with golden hair, an angry expression and claw gestures made to resemble the president, was erected on the Ellipse, an area behind 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue that is open to the public.

Taran Singh Brar, a 31-year-old documentary filmmaker and organizer, reportedly spent $ 1,300 on the puffy poultry to mock Trump for being “too chicken” to release his tax returns.

Brar told RT’s Alex Rubenstein that he hatched the plan to bring his “chicken Don” to DC in March.

“The main message that we are saying is the president is a weak and ineffective leader – like a chicken,” Brar told RT. “He’s afraid to release his tax returns, afraid to stand up to Vladimir Putin, and playing a game of chicken with North Korea that’s very destabilizing to the world.”

The inflatable chicken seems to be modeled after a 23-foot statue outside a mall in the Chinese city of Taiyuan. The statue was erected to celebrate the Year of the Rooster shortly before Trump’s inauguration when US-Sino relations were at a low point.

The same inflatable chicken has also been seen at Tax Day March events across the county. Similar models can be purchased on eBay for $ 500.

Although Trump is currently on vacation at his New Jersey golf resort for 17 days, and will not be able to see the chicken staring him down in the Oval Office, Twitter mused about the crowds who flocked to take photos.

An advertisement for a Saudi Arabian hardware giant promoting swimming pools has galvanized the Twitteratti after it replaced a woman in the photo with an inflatable ball.

The image was tweeted by Saudi retail company SACO on a Twitter page highlighting its latest offers. The tweet states that the store has a large range of swimming pools on promotion and is accompanied by a photo of a family in the pool.

The man and three children appear fully clothed in the pool with their faces pixelated while the position of the woman is replaced with an inflatable ball and its reflection.

The stark censorship was highlighted on Twitter and quickly garnered tens of thousands of retweets as many expressed shock at the ad and shared the original uncensored photo.

The swimming pool depicted in the promotion is manufactured by Intex Corp – a California-based company that specializes in pools, spas and airbeds.

Saudi Arabia often omits women from ads or shows just their eyes. In 2012, IKEA came under fire for photoshopping women out of its Saudi Arabia catalogue.

The Swedish furniture giant later apologized, noting, that “excluding women from the Saudi Arabian version of the catalogue is in conflict with the Ikea Group values.”

It has now been a year since NASA successfully expanded a habitat attached to the International Space Station, the experimental Bigelow Expandable Activity Module. Initial tests on the module suggest that expandable habitats may play an important role as NASA considers how best to expand human activity into deep space.

During the first year, NASA and its astronauts on board the station have sought primarily to test the module’s ability to withstand space debris—as a rapidly depressurized habitat would be a bad thing in space. And indeed, sensors inside the module have recorded “a few probable” impacts from micrometeoroid debris strikes, according to NASA’s Langley Research Center. Fortunately, the module’s expandable’s mulitple layers of kevlar-like weave have prevented any penetration by the debris.
