It’s been over 30 years since the original team starred in Ghostbusters II. Since then there’s been animated series, video games, a 2016 female-led reboot and Egon star Harold Ramis sadly died. But now original director Ivan Reitman’s son Jason is gearing up to helm a direct sequel to Ghostbusters II, one that will hopefully see the return of the surviving original cast who cameoed in the 2016 film. And now Production Weekly has unveiled that filming will take place in late Spring or Summer of this year. Ghostbusters 3’s casting and plot have also been teased in the project notes. According to Pursue News, it reads: “The main characters will be 4 teens: 2 boys, 2 girls. “A family moves back home to a small town where they learn more about who they are.” The outlet speculates these teenagers could be the children of the original Ghostbusters team. Meanwhile, Aykroyd and Hudson shared the first teaser trailer for the film, on Twitter. Aykroyd wrote: “If you need a tune-up, you know who to call.” While Hudson added: “Bigger than a 100-ft marshmallow man!” It certainly looks like these two, and hopefully, Murray will reprise their roles as teased by Aykroyd in November. Speaking on AXS TV’s The Big Interview, he said: “There is a possibility of a reunion with the three remaining Ghostbusters. “It’s being written right now… I think Billy will come. “The story’s so good. Even if he plays a ghost.” Ghostbusters 3 is set for release in Summer 2020.

Right now, rock legend Freddie Mercury is making waves at the box office in the form of the biopic Bohemian Rhapsody, telling the story about how his band Queen rose to fame and would make an impact on music for generations. More importantly, the film shines a light on Freddie Mercury’s sexuality, though the frontman never addressed it out in the open. Now, Universal Pictures is looking to the history of the silver screen for a new biopic that will focus on a Hollywood icon forced to hide his own sexuality until he was close to his death bed.
Rock Hudson was a huge Hollywood star with one of those classic long-term studio deals intended to make him a star at Universal. Hudson was given plenty of publicity honors by various entertainment magazines like Star of the Year and Favorite Leading Man, but he was never able to show the viewing public who he really was, always hiding the fact that he was gay despite endless questions about such matters in his private life.
Deadline has word on the Rock Hudson biopic, which will be directed by Greg Berlanti, the executive producer who has made a name for himself working on the interconnected DC Comics television shows Arrow, The Flash, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow and Supergirl. He recently set a new record for being a producer with 15 live-action scripted series on the air, the most of any TV producer at one time. But he also directed the romantic comedy Love, Simon.
The Rock Hudson biopic will give Universal an opportunity to focus on the struggle gay men had in the old days Hollywood, often forced to live double lives by being straight in the spotlight and gay in private. Hudson became an important figure in the 1980s after being diagnosed with HIV in 1984 and succumbing to complications from AIDS in 1985. He was one of the first mainstream celebrities to be diagnosed with the disease.
At the time, many people credited Rock Hudson with bringing much needed attention to AIDS and inspiring many to support the cause to cure the disease. Joan Rivers even said (via Wikipedia), “Two years ago, when I hosted a benefit for AIDS, I couldn’t get one major star to turn out. … Rock’s admission is a horrendous way to bring AIDS to the attention of the American public, but by doing so, Rock, in his life, has helped millions in the process. What Rock has done takes true courage.”
But before helping the gay community and the population at large battle HIV and AIDS, Hudson was one of the biggest stars on the big screen. He was a leading man in films such as Has Anybody Seen My Gal? with Piper Laurie, the westerns The Lawless Breed and Gun Fury, but he didn’t find stardom until leading Magnificent Obsession in 1984 and would go on to star in Captain Lightfoot and All that Heaven Allows, which is part of the Criterion Collection. However, Hudson might best be known for starring in Giant, one of only three films to star James Dean, and the only one for which Hudson earned an Oscar nomination.
After Giant, Hudson was offered all sorts of big roles, including Sayonara (which ended up starring Marlon Brando), The Bridge on the River Kwai (handed to William Holden) and Ben-Hur (which famously went to Charlton Heston). Instead, he opted to star in a remake of A Farewell to Arms, which went on to fail at the box office and received negative reviews.
It’ll be interesting to see how much of Hudson’s career is recreated for this biopic, especially when it comes to him working with the other greats of Hollywood’s golden years. The film will be based on Mark Griffin’s biography All That Heaven Allows: A Biography of Rock Hudson, but a writer for the script has yet to be found, so it’ll be awhile before we hear anything about this project.

The sisters, Rotana Farea (22) and Tala Farea (16) were discovered on October 24 on the banks of the river, having gone missing two months previously from Fairfax, Virginia, where they lived with their family. So far, the investigation has revealed that the sisters traveled from Washington DC to Philadelphia, before arriving New York City on September 1.
At a press conference on Friday, police said they had “no credible information” that any crime took place, but confirmed that their probe is ongoing. Investigators tracked the girls’ last movements using credit card records, which showed that they had “maxed out” a card staying in a number of “high end” hotels in New York, where they ordered meals for two people every day in the days leading to their deaths.
The sisters were found tied face-to-face with duct tape at the waist and feet, were fully clothed and their bodies showed no obvious signs of trauma, which likely rules out a theory that they could have jumped together from the George Washington Bridge.
Some kind of suicide is still a leading theory in the sisters’ deaths, however. Water found in their lungs made it “entirely credible” that they entered the water while still alive.
"Two sisters were found floating near an embankment of the Hudson River last Wednesday… bound together at their ankles and waists with duct tape."
"At this point in time it has still has not been determined a homicide,"
Uh, what???

The baffling case took on an added air of mystery when it was revealed that the sisters’ mother told police that she had received a phone call from the Saudi Arabian embassy in Washington DC the day before the sisters were found. During the call, a Saudi embassy official instructed her family to leave the US, due to the fact that her daughters had applied for political asylum, she claimed.
Police also revealed that a man who frequently exercises along the riverbank told them that he had seen the girls sitting about 30 feet apart in a playground with their heads in their hands and making “praying” noises on the same day that they were later found dead – an image that the witness said has been “haunting” him since.
Tala and Rotana moved to the US with their mother in 2015. Rotana had been enrolled at George Mason University but left in the spring.
The two had previously been placed in a shelter after another disappearance in 2017, reportedly asking police not to reveal their location. On Friday, police confirmed that reports of physical abuse within the family had been made at that time, but did not elaborate.
Sources in Virginia who were not family members told the police that the sisters had said they would rather harm themselves or commit suicide than return to Saudi Arabia.
According to some media reports, 16-year-old Tala had reportedly been offered a place at a top school in Saudi Arabia but desperately did not want to go.

The Saudi consulate in New York said it had “appointed an attorney to follow the case closely,” while the Saudi embassy in Washington contacted the family and “extended its support and aid in this trying time.”

Tonight’s instalment saw X Factor winner Leona return to her singing competition roots but this time as a guest mentor alongside regular coach Jennifer.
As fans gushed over the blonde bombshell’s singing prowess and “incredible” duet with the judge, it didn’t take long before they were sold on the star joining the panel for the next series.
If Leona were to join the ITV series however, she would most likely join will.i.am, Tom Jones and Olly Murs on the panel and replace American crooner Jennifer, as the pair have similar voices and singing styles.
Sharing their excitement for the prospect, viewers expressed themselves on Twtter.
One person wrote: “Leona Lewis should be a coach next year please! #TheVoiceUK.”
“Could definitely see Leona as a coach one year #ThevoiceUK,” another shared.
A third declared: “Leona is the only positive beautiful thing that has ever come out of these cr*p shows #TheVoiceUK.”
Another surprising moment on tonight’s show saw the Bleeding Love singer bump into her old school friend and contestant Jason Nicholson-Porter.
The duo were utterly shocked when they discovered they went to the same Secondary school, but Leona only had words of support for the potential star.
Following a reunion hug, she explained: “I haven’t seen Jason since we were 12.
“I’m so proud to see him here.”
“You can sing,” Olly Murs later said to the hopeful. “Just a massive amount of applause for that. Your vocal ability is insane.”
Amazed at the coincidence, one fan tweeted: “Jason went to school with Leona? What are the chances! That’s amazing #TheVoiceUK.”
While another echoed: “That’s weird. Jason went to school with Leona. #TheVoiceUK.”
Jennifer and Leona also combined their powerhouse vocals to sing a duet together.
“OMG CANCEL The Voice and just let Leona and Jennifer sing that song please #TheVoiceUK,” one shocked viewer added.
However, some fans of The Voice were left in hysterics after saucy remarks from Tom to Jennifer.
As Jennifer finally filled her tenth spot, she asked her fellow judges for praise.
Jennifer gushed: “I cannot believe my team is full!”
Turning to the rest of the panel, she continued: “Give me high fives. Will!”
Olly then rushed over and said: “I’m going to give you high tens!”
Jennifer then turned to Tom and said: “Tom, you’ve gotta give me something!”
Tom then replied: “Baby, you can have anything you want from me.”
Viewers instantly took to social media following the “saucy” comment.
One fan tweeted: “#TheVoiceUK sir Tom the slickest smoothest guy ever xx.”
“‘Baby you can have anything you want from me’ Tom you dirty dog #TheVoiceUK,” joked another.
A third added: “@thevoiceuk @IAMJHUD @RealSirTomJones You smooth talker Tom when you said Jennifer can have whatever she wants #TheVoiceUK.”
“Tom wants to feel something in his soul…..yeahhh… #TheVoiceUK,” teased another.
A fifth wrote: “Oh I do love the banter between Olly, Tom, Jennifer, and Will.I.Am #TheVoiceUK #TheVoice.”
One fan wasn’t too impressed, and posted: “Jennifer: ‘Tom you gotta give me something’.
“Tom: ‘You can get anything you want from me’ Inappropriate much… #TheVoiceUK.”
The Voice UK continues next Saturday on ITV at 8pm.
Micky Cohen, 24, was appearing on the ITV talent competition when nerves got the better of her.
Before her audition, Micky said: “I’m going to remember this for the rest of my life and tell the grandkids about The Voice.”
The contestant performed a stripped-back version of Luis Fonsi, Daddy Yankee and Justin Bieber’s Despacito.
However, the hopeful unfortunately chocked during the song, meaning the judging panel were left wondering why there was a slight gap in the performance.
Jennifer was unsure about what was going on and asked: “What just happened?”
Unfortunately for Micky, not a single judge turned around and she was sent home.
New judge Olly Murs quipped: “I thought it was a bit all over the place in the first part.”
Jennifer added: “Yeah, she lost her way a bit!”
Will.i.am added that the contestant was obviously “nervous”, but noticed the stumble.
He said: “She was so nervous. There was a part that happened where she stumbled.”
Sir Tom Jones noted: Yeah, she stumbled!” prompting Olly to add: “It’s a shame.”
Micky was later seen to break down in front of the cameras, asking the ITV crew to pause filming.
She said: “Sorry, just give me a moment,” before broadcasting her exit walk.
Fans of the show took to social media following the stumble.
One viewer said: “WOWW!!! This girl is absolutely stunning!!! Shame she messed up her line in the song, it’s all Cohen wrong #TheVoiceUK.”
“#Thevoiceuk @giffgaff Micky Cohen – ‘Despacito’ I think this was only released last week. Hope that was enough time. Brave 24 year old,” posted another.
A third added: “Oh man, sorry it didn’t turn out well. You looked amazing and guess nerves got the better of you. Massive respect for getting up there and having the balls to do it in the first place!”
It comes as Jennifer was left baffled by another contestant over their unusual choice of song.
The Voice UK 2018 continues next Saturday on ITV at 8pm.
The 36-year-old judge could not believe that hopeful Christopher Preece had decided to sing Prince Ali from Disney’s Aladdin.
Stunning the audience, the 28-year-old audiobook narrator from Norfolk left Jennifer speechless, prompting her to ask: “Is this real?”
As Chris edged closer to finishing his rendition, Olly Murs couldn’t resist and pressed his buzzer.
Asked why he chose that particular song, Chris explained: “I do a lot of songs so I was like, ‘Could do something rock, could do something country,’ and then I was just like, ‘Oh yeah!’
“Honestly it really was. I just wanted to let the crowd have a good time and do a song that people love.”
He added: “Because that’s what I do!”
Hearing Chris explain why he chose the song, Jennifer gasped: “That was brave!
“You kind of took me back to when I worked on a cruise ship and broadway and everything else.
“I’m like, ‘wow’. I think it was brave that you did that, so job well done.”
Chris later took to social media to explain all of his audition day decisions.
He tweeted: “#thevoiceuk I wanted to do something fun! I think I managed that.
“#thevoiceuk I was so happy that @ollyofficial turned for me! I was already getting ready to leave the stage when he turned and I was just on an adrenaline high! #TeamOlly.
“I actually watched Aladdin the night before my audition! #thevoiceuk.”
He added: “I was nervous about the song choice but I just wanted to give people something they could enjoy.”
Sir Tom Jones revealed that he didn’t turn around due to not knowing how to work with his style of music.
However, Chris told how he can sing a range of tunes from different genres, leaving his new mentor Olly the envy of his rival judges.
The Voice UK 2018 continues next Saturday on ITV at 8pm.
After Donel gave a stunning audition, coaches will.i.am, Jennifer Hudson, Sir Tom Jones and Olly Murs set about pitching for him.
The 16-year-old wowed the judges with his rendition of Justin Beiber’s Cold Water in which he mixed Zimbabwean lyrics with English ones.
Will, 42, promised the youngster a career outside of The Voice, explaining that he had his backpack with him full of technology to go and make a hit there and then.
However, Jennifer, 36, clearly was a fan of his style and stood in front of her chair asking any of her fellow coaches to “fight her” for the youngster.
Newcomer Olly seemed up to the task, and joked that he would take her on before dramatically falling to the floor.
As the scene unfolded, will.i.am stayed cool and merely picked up his phone and pretended to call someone.
Shocked Jennifer snapped: “Will what are you doing? Get off your phone!”
The cheeky Black Eyed Peas rapper responded that he was “calling a record label” at which the Spotlight hitmaker picked up hers and attempted to do the same.
It seemed that Donel had his heart set on one coach however, as he decided to go with will.i.am.
The Voice UK continues on ITV next Saturday at 8pm.
The 36-year-old judge seemingly baffled some fans who took to social media to complain.
However, Jennifer explained that it was more than just “singing for her supper”.
Viewers took to social media following the broadcast, with one tweeting: “Jennifer Hudson walking round collecting money on the voice, showbiz musn’t pay v well #TheVoiceUK.”
“Did Jennifer Hudson actually just walk round the audience of the voice n took money (sic),” posted another.
A third raged: “@thevoiceuk sorry but the kids going around with Jennifer’s collection plate this bang is out of order this is not what the voice is about! Where is the money u going communicate the charity please!!! #TheVoiceUK. (sic)”
Jennifer previously revealed that she collected money at auditions as part of a yearly tradition.
Speaking ahead of the show’s launch in January, Jennifer told press: “A fan gave it to me in America.
“She said every time I sing, I take everyone to church and then she gave me a collection plate.
“I said I would take it with me to The Voice UK. In church, we take up a collection after the choir sings.”
She continued: “So if the acts have sung exceptionally well, I feel the need to get up and take a collection from the audience. Of course any money collected will go to charity.”
Collecting money for charity, Jennifer also admitted that she struggles with the British currency.
Jennifer added: “I have no idea what the money is! I have travelled all across to the UK and I still can’t figure it out.”
The Voice UK continues next Saturday on ITV at 8pm.
