  • Fox News host Peter Doocy wondered aloud why Trump kept "all that secret stuff at Mar-a-Lago."
  • Doocy said he couldn't recall any president "carting off" so many files during their time in office.
  • He also questioned why Trump didn't simply hand the documents over, given their classified nature.

"Fox & Friends" host Steve Doocy is the latest media ally of former President Donald Trump to call him out over the FBI's search of Mar-a-Lago. 

During a Wednesday episode of the show, Doocy asked South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem, another Trump ally, for her take on the Mar-a-Lago raid — but not before wondering aloud why Trump didn't hand over the documents to the government and instead took them to Florida home.

"Well, ultimately it comes down to — why did he have all that secret stuff at Mar-a-Lago?" Doocy asked.

He referenced Trump's claim about declassifying the files through a standing order and pointed out that this defense didn't hold up as the supposed move was also "news to the agencies that those documents belong to." 

"He had, apparently, three classified documents in his desk," Doocy said, referring to the DOJ's court filing on the raid.

Doocy also referred to a photo released by the DOJ of the top-secret documents found at Mar-a-Lago.

"It shows five yellow folders marked 'top secret,' and another one with that says 'secret SCI' which means 'sensitive compartmentalized information,'" Doocy said. "Those are the biggest secrets in the world."

Noem attempted to defend Trump, calling for more transparency in the DOJ's investigation. However, Doocy sidestepped her argument and stated: "I don't think any President has ever carted off that many documents to their house after they left the presidency."

Doocy is just one of many members of Rupert Murdoch's media empire who appear to have shifted their stance on supporting Trump in recent weeks. Earlier this month, Fox News host Eric Shawn asked aloud during a live broadcast if Trump could have tried to "sell or share" classified information with Russia or Saudi Arabia. 

In July, Trump also expressed his unhappiness with "Fox & Friends," a talk show he was known to do nearly weekly calls with during his presidency. In a Truth Social post, he called the talk show "terrible" and said it had "gone to the dark side" after Doocy questioned his poll numbers.

These rumblings from Fox News hosts may signal a shift in Murdoch's empire's attitude toward Trump. This week, for one, the former president raged against the Murdoch-owned New York Post over an opinion piece it published titled "Republicans are lucky to have Mitch McConnell: Trump's gripes are beyond ridiculous." 

The Post also denounced Trump in an editorial piece in July, calling him "unworthy to be this country's chief executive again." Additionally, the Wall Street Journal — another Murdoch-owned publication — called Trump "The President Who Stood Still on Jan. 6" while praising former Vice President Mike Pence.

Meanwhile, the FBI is investigating whether Trump broke three federal laws, including the Espionage Act, by keeping classified documents at Mar-a-Lago. The agency removed 11 sets of classified documents — some of which were marked top secret and concerned nuclear weapons, according to The Washington Post — from the property while executing a search warrant on August 8.

ABC has removed Chris Harrison as the host of the forthcoming season of The Bachelorette, the network announced Friday night.

“Chris Harrison will not be hosting the next season of The Bachelorette,” ABC said in a joint statement with Warner Horizon. “We support Chris in the work that he is committed to doing. In his absence, former Bachelorettes Tayshia Adams and Kaitlyn Bristowe will support the new Bachelorette through next season.

“As we continue the dialogue around achieving greater equity and inclusion within The Bachelor franchise, we are dedicated to improving the BIPOC representation of our crew, including among the executive producer ranks,” the statement continued. “These are important steps in effecting fundamental change so that our franchise is a celebration of love that is reflective of our world.”

The kerfuffle involving Harrison erupted last month when photos surfaced of current Bachelor contestant Rachael Kirkconnell attending a 2018 Antebellum party, a gathering that romanticizes the pre-Civil War South and reinforces racist stereotypes from that time. While many criticized Kirkconnell’s behavior, Harrison defended her in an Extra interview with Rachel Lindsay — The Bachelorette‘s first-ever Black lead — and denounced the “cancel culture” that he felt had targeted her.

Harrison later apologized for “wrongly speaking in a manner that perpetuates racism” and opted to take “a period of time” away from ABC’s dating series, and that includes sitting out the upcoming After the Final Rose finale special on March 15, with former NFL player Emmanuel Acho filling in as host instead.

In a Good Morning America interview last week, Harrison once again fessed up to his mistakes. “I am an imperfect man,” he said. “I made a mistake, and I own that. I believe that mistake doesn’t reflect who I am or what I stand for. I am committed to the progress — not just for myself, but also for the franchise.”

Harrison told GMA that he was working with a race educator and strategist, along with faith leaders and scholars like Georgetown University sociology professor Dr. Michael Eric Dyson.

“I plan to be back, and I want to be back,” he said of his possible return to the franchise down the line. “This interview is not the finish line. There is much more work to be done, and I am excited to be a part of that change.”

It will be Emmanuel Acho, and not Chris Harrison, who puts the Bachelor cast in the hot seat during the show’s After the Final Rose special.

Acho, a former NFL linebacker and Fox Sports analyst, will officially replace Harrison as host of the traditional finale special, in which leading man Matt James and his chosen winner will return to discuss the season and their current relationship status, reports our sister site Deadline. The two-hour Season 25 finale is set to air Monday, March 15 at 8/7c, with the Final Rose special airing immediately after.

“It’s both an honor and privilege to be hosting After the Final Rose,” Acho said in a statement. “This is an incredibly pivotal episode on one of the most storied shows in television history.”

Harrison will be absent from the special after choosing to take a “period of time” away from the franchise, following his controversial defense of current Bachelor contestant Rachael Kirkconnell. When photos surfaced of Kirkconnell attending an Antebellum party — a problematic gathering that celebrates the pre-Civil War South and reinforces racist imagery from that time — Harrison defended her in an Extra interview conducted by Rachel Lindsay, The Bachelorette‘s first-ever Black lead. Despite Lindsay’s attempts to explain why Kirkconnell’s actions were indefensible, Harrison decried “cancel culture” and suggested that Kirkconnell’s attendance at the party simply looks worse through a present-day lens.

The host later apologized for “wrongly speaking in a manner that perpetuates racism,” and three days later, he announced he would step aside from the franchise, including the upcoming Final Rose special. “The historic season of The Bachelor should not be marred or overshadowed by my mistakes or diminished by my actions,” Harrison wrote at the time. “I am dedicated to getting educated on a more profound and productive level than ever before.”

Beyond sitting out this finale special, Harrison’s future with the franchise has yet to be determined.

One of the Jonas Brothers will fly solo when he returns to Studio 8H.

NBC has announced that Nick Jonas will pull double duty as host and musical guest of Saturday Night Live‘s Feb. 27 episode — the last of five consecutive episodes that began with host John Krasinski on Jan. 30. The singer will perform his recently announced single, “Spaceman,” due to release Feb. 25.

As part of the aforementioned sibling trio, Jonas has served as the musical guest twice, in 2009 and 2019. On his own, he appeared once in 2016, in support of his third studio album “Last Year Was Complicated.”

Jonas’ SNL return comes just days before he returns to The Voice. After making his debut as a coach during last spring’s 18th cycle, Jonas took the fall off and is set to return for Season 20 (premiering Monday, March 1).

Saturday Night Live returned for its 46th season on Oct. 3. Previous hosts have included Chris Rock, Bill Burr, Issa Rae, Adele, John Mulaney, Dave Chappelle, Jason Bateman, Timothée Chalamet, Kristen Wiig, Krasinski, Dan Levy, Regina King and Regé-Jean Page.

Meanwhile, this season’s musical acts have included Megan Thee Stallion, Jack White, Justin Bieber, H.E.R., The Strokes, Foo Fighters, Morgan Wallen, Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band, Due Lipa, Machine Gun Kelly, Phoebe Bridgers, Nathaniel Rateliff and Bad Bunny. Jonas is the first act of Season 46 to pull double duty.

Radio and TV host Rush Limbaugh, one of the leading voices of the conservative movement over the last 30 years, has died at the age of 70.

Limbaugh died on Wednesday after a battle with advanced lung cancer. He announced his diagnosis to listeners of his radio show back in February 2020; his wife, Kathryn, broke the news of his passing on Wednesday’s radio broadcast.

Working in radio since he was a teen, Limbaugh rose to prominence with his self-titled radio show, which entered national syndication in 1988. Limbaugh promoted conservative viewpoints and railed against the liberal media, making Bill and Hillary Clinton his main targets when Bill was elected President in 1992. (He was so influential, when Republicans took control of Congress in 1994, the freshman class awarded Limbaugh an honorary membership in their caucus.)

Limbaugh’s radio show spawned a self-titled TV series as well, which aired in syndication from 1992 to 1996. (The show was produced by future Fox News CEO Roger Ailes.) He also had a brief, ill-fated stint as a commentator on ESPN’s NFL coverage in 2003, leaving the network after stirring controversy by criticizing Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb and insisting that “the media has been very desirous that a black quarterback do well.”

Limbaugh was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom by President Trump during Trump’s State of the Union speech in February 2020, in recognition of his “decades of tireless devotion to our country,” Trump said.

Naga Munchetty and Charlie Stayt usually present BBC Breakfast from Thursday to Saturday but for the second week in a row, Rachel Burden has stepped in to host in place of the 5Live host. Rachel and Charlie were on hand with the latest news headlines while Mike Bushell updated viewers on the latest sports news.

It’s not the first time Rachel has stepped in to host in Naga’s place.

However, while viewers have been concerned by Naga’s absence, the BBC Breakfast host confirmed this week she will be back presenting the Saturday instalment in a “couple of weeks”.

Fans began to question if Naga had stopped hosting the Saturday episode due to her new role presenting 5Live’s 10am slot from Monday to Wednesday.

One fan asked on Twitter: “@TVNaga01 Hi Naga! Have you stopped doing Saturday’s @BBCBreakfast now, as you’re doing your radio show as well.

“How fast do you think he would have to cycle to get up there?” she continued which left Charlie confused.

Looking at the image of Danny riding down the side of a hill, Naga explained: ”Well when you’re going up a steep slope you have to get up pretty fast otherwise you’re going to stop.”

Charlie pointed out: “The thing is right, I don’t think he cycled up here,” adding: “Look normally on a bicycle you’re going in the direction your head is facing towards.”

Naga sighed: ““I thought he was going up the other way,” before trying to move the segment along.

ABC is going to the dogs.

Pitch Perfect‘s Rebel Wilson is set to host Pooch Perfect (get it?), a dog-grooming competition ordered at the Alphabet network, it was announced Wednesday.

The eight-episode series will find 10 of the best dog groomers team with their assistants on a series of weekly challenges. Each episode will consist of two challenges: the Immunity Puppertunity challenge and the Ultimutt Challenge showdown. Ahead of elimination, each team will show off their “epic trans-fur-mations” on the “illustrious dogwalk.”

The top three teams will advance to the finale, where they’ll compete for a cash prize and Pooch Perfect‘s first-place trophy. Bravo TV personality Lisa Vanderpump, celebrity dog groomer Jorge Bendersky, and veterinarian Dr. Callie Harris will serve as judges.

Pooch Perfect joins ABC’s ever-expanding unscripted slate, which includes reality series American Idol, The Bachelor (and Bachelorette), Dancing With the Stars and Shark Tank, along with game shows The $ 100,000 Pyramid, Card Sharks, Celebrity Family Feud, Celebrity Wheel of Fortune, The Chase, Don’t, Holey Moley, The Hustler, Match Game, Press Your Luck, To Tell the Truth and Who Wants to Be a Millionaire.

Pooch Perfect is set to premiere this spring. An exact airdate will be announced at a later time.
