Clara Amfo and Aljaz Skorjanec were the first couple taking to the Strictly Come Dancing dance floor on Saturday evening as they hoped to bounce back from an underwhelming performance last week. Kicking the BBC show off with a jive, the fast-paced routine sadly appeared to get the better of the Radio 1 DJ however, after a series of missteps and awkward timing fails. And with the competition now in full swing, judge Craig Revel Horwood did not mince his words when it came to his criticism.

Moments after their routine, Clara and Aljaz turned to Craig for his thoughts on the dance.

And he let loose: “You lost your balance on the leap at the beginning and I think that set you off on a bit of a wobbly, darling.

“You need to be a lot higher up on your toes in this dance as well.

“You lost your footing through the chase section, (and) you forgot the routine halfway through which was unfortunate.”

Their score also landed them at the bottom of the leaderboard heading into the public vote.

However, it doesn’t seem to have put Strictly viewers off who took to social media in their hundreds to throw their support behind the star.

Sadly, the same couldn’t be said for the likes of Bill Bailey and Clara Amfo, who both were pulled up for missing steps in their respective dances.

“Right @claraamfo stans,” said one fan on Twitter. “It’s time to save Clara again with the vote #Strictly.”

As NBC’s Manifest laid the groundwork for next week’s Season 2 finale, there was a lovely wedding, yes, but there would be no honeymoon for Michaela, whose decision to blow off a calling arguably has had disastrous consequences.

As Josh Dallas reminds TVLine, “What Ben has come to realize, particularly after that episode where Grace almost died, is that what what we have to do is follow the callings. He says it to Grace — we have to follow the callings, because that’s where the answers lie.”

Once looped in at the start of the Monday, April 6 finale, Ben’s reaction to Cal’s abduction “is not going to be good, let me tell you,” warns Dallas. “Michaela had a calling to follow and she didn’t, and things start to go horribly wrong. Horribly wrong. And this is where you’re going to see a great tension” between brother and sister.

As if him and Grace worrying about their kidnapped son wasn’t enough, Ben this week also started to have the most harrowing calling yet, of Flight 828 exploding in the night sky. (Was that hinting at the meth lab explosion, or something else?) Saanvi meanwhile made bold moves to make Vance resurface, suspecting as she does that the Major was behind her abrupt job termination. Vance affirmed as much, saying that the Major has made inroads on Saanvi’s stolen research, and thus needs her out of the mix. Saanvi, though, has no intention of hiding. Rather, she is rarin’ to go after the Major!

Dubai Airport workers were left red-faced after an important ceremony went drastically wrong due to a technical failure.

The international hub was celebrating the 88th birthday of neighbour Saudi Arabia with a water salute for a Saudia Arabian Airlines flight.

This aviation tradition sees two firefighting engines shooting arcs of water over an arriving or departing plane to create an impressive arch effect.

A water salute signifies a highly important event but in this instance the ceremony went dreadfully wrong, as an awkward viral video showed.

A clip from Dubai Airport shows the  Saudia Arabian Airlines plane taxiing forwards between two fire engines. As planned, the two vehicles send forth two impressive arcs of water over the plane.

The jet from the right rises higher and higher until the stream of water is almost vertical.

However, this could be due to the truck losing control of the flow of water rather an attempt to impress, judging by what happens next.

The plume of water lowers from its great height until it’s horizontal with the tarmac – and completely drenches the plane as it sprays water directly at the body of the aircraft.

To make matters worse the way the water hits the plane triggers the deployment of the emergency slide.

It can be seen unfurling from the left-hand-side of the plane as the jets of water continues to bombard the aircraft.

This could well have been due to the water setting off a sensor on the door.

The video of the event – which took place a couple of weeks ago – has now accumulated 42.8 thousand views on Twitter.

Water salutes tend to be used when an airport welcomes a new airline, a new route or when an existing route gets a new plane.

Each salute can used as much 3,000 gallons leading to some airports ending the tradition.

For instance, California airports stopped using them for water shortage reasons.

A recent video went viral in Dubai after an Arab woman reported a woman dressed in clothes she didn’t deem appropriate, resulting in the woman being given an abaya to cover up with. 

There are signs in many of the malls warning tourists to dress modestly.

However, legal experts have warned ignoring the signs could result in three years in jail.

In Article 358 of the Federal Penal Code: “Indecent actions or anything that might be prejudicial to public morals made by a man or woman in public and could be considered as indecency would be punishable by six months to three years and deportation.”

This could cover dressing modestly, and by not doing so, tourists could be seen as being indecent.

The UAE government advise dressing modestly to avoid offending locals and Islamic values. This often means covering shoulders, arms and legs in loose-fitting clothing for both men and women.

Tourists who stay in holiday resorts are often able to wear less restrictive clothes which are more western. However, if leaving the resort, then the local laws should be followed to avoid causing offence.

New pictures reveal Mick (played by Danny Dyer) will be crying out for help when things don’t quite go as planned on the day of the job.

The pub landlord has already tried to back out of the job, enraging Aidan (Patrick Bergin), who has threatened Mick with a gun.

Things will all come to a head with the dodgy dealing when Mick anxiously awaits Aidan’s signal.

However, once his mother, Shirley Carter (Linda Henry), realises what he’s up to, she locks her son in the Queen Vic barrel store.

Mick panics as he knows Aidan is dangerous and he doesn’t want to cross the crime boss again, as this time it could mean his life.

Scenes last week saw the ex-convict threaten to put Mick in a coffin, and if he defies Aidan again he could find himself six feet under.

He is seen open-mouthed in anguish as he knows the clock is against him and he’s got somewhere to be.

Aidan confronts Shirley, but she remains tight-lipped on her son’s whereabouts.

Will Mick be able to get there in time?

Troubled Mick joined Aidan’s mob to earn money for his family who will be forced out of their home in the new year.

The evil Irishman has recruited fellow Albert Square residents Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden), Vincent Hubbard (Richard Blackwood), Keanu Taylor (Danny Walters) and Billy Mitchell (Perry Fenwick) into his gang of thieves.

EastEnders continues New Year’s Day at 8pm on BBC One.

The 57-year-old tried to flip open cups which were filled with water after David Beckham posted a video of his son achieving the feat while in a pool. 

However, the nature of the trick meant that Ruth and husband Eamonn Holmes were at risk of getting wet themselves. 

The latter stepped up to the mark first, and went for a two-handed approached. 

After failing miserably to even get any spin on the plastic containers, Eamonn, 57, stepped to the side to allow his wife to have a go. 

Ruth looked nervous when she grabbed the two cups, but when she attempted the air spin, it all went disastrously wrong. 

The blonde beauty was left shaking water off her legs and feet as she backed away from the table. 

Rylan Clark Neal also had a go at the trick, but failed to pull off the stunt. 

This followed an eventful instalment of This Morning which saw Eamonn grinding on guest Ola Jordan while Ruth Langsford watched the pair. 

As well as that, the Irish host was celebrating 31 years in show business today. 

Eamonn was horrified when bosses produced a picture of him looking very young and fresh-faced, joking that it was “bullying in the workplace”. 

This Morning airs weekdays on ITV from 10.30am.

The US Department of Homeland Security has taken over the investigation of an immigrant smuggling case, where at least 8 people were found dead from heat exhaustion in a locked up trailer in San Antonio, Texas.

At least nine Latin American illegal immigrants died after being left unintended inside a tractor-trailer in the parking lot of a San Antonio Walmart. The abandoned vehicle has been parked there at least since Saturday evening. The truck was noticed by one of the store employees after someone from the vehicle was “asking for water.”

When San Antonio Police arrived at the scene they found eight people dead. Another person died in hospital, after being rushed along with sixteen others for medical treatment. Thirteen migrants are being treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

While most are believed to be in their 20s or 30s, at least two migrants appeared to be of school going age.

The victims “were very hot to the touch. So these people were in this trailer without any signs of any type of water,” San Antonio Fire Chief Charles Hood said, according to AP.

The US Justice Department has called the tragedy a “smuggling venture [that has] gone horribly wrong.”

“All were victims of ruthless human smugglers indifferent to the well-being of their fragile cargo,” US Attorney Richard L. Durbin Jr. said in a statement. “The South Texas heat is punishing this time of year. These people were helpless in the hands of their transporters. Imagine their suffering, trapped in a stifling trailer in 100-plus degree heat.”

The Justice Department said the 60-year-old driver, identified as James Mathew Bradley, from Clearwater, Florida, is in federal custody and will be charged next week.

San Antonio Police and the US Homeland Security Unit will now focus “to determine the origin of this horrific tragedy,” Police Chief William McManus said, according to LA Times.

Westworld won’t return to TV until 2018, but we’re getting a peek at what that return will entail… and things have clearly gone downhill. A new trailer for the second season reveals that the robots are rebelling against the humans who’ve treated them so harshly (really, the core of the movie that inspired the show), and there are plenty of casualties among the guests and Delos employees. Dolores, William and other bots are clearly relishing the opportunity to get back at their tormentors. While it’s going to be a frustratingly long wait for the rest of season two, HBO is at least giving us something to look forward to.
