There have been a number of other suggestions of who this could actually be with some fans suggesting Barb Holland (Shannon Purser) or Mayor Kline (Cary Elwes).

However, it seems the most likely scenario is this actually being Eleven’s papa Dr Brenner (Matthew Modine).

This comes after he was confirmed to still be alive in the second series of the show as well as the creators dropping a big hint about his future.

Matt Duffer told IGN in an interview back in 2016: “If that was his death, that would be very unsatisfying to me.

“He would deserve much more than that as an ending. So yes, there’s a possibility of seeing him again.”

All will be revealed when the latest season of the show comes back to Netflix.

Taking to Instagram, user @noahschhnapp explained his theory referencing the film Interstellar: “It all starts at ST 1 where Clarke does the same explanation of the portal.

“But add The Flea and the Acrobat. Acrobat needs a portal to enter upside down.

“If you paid attention in the series you know that the monster dies when the portal closes.”

The fan theorises that the explosion during The Battle of Starcourt Mall didn’t actually kill Hopper, instead it transported him in time.

“In the movie Interestellar it happens that we have a flea that walks between dimensions after an accident. It interacts in both worlds through time-space at random.”

The fan concluded: “Hopper is lost in space-time, where he has already transited between the two worlds, helping throughout the show in small acts.”

Elon Musk logged on to Twitter this weekend to deliver a veritable sleigh full of gifts to fans of his rocket company, SpaceX, in time for Christmas.

Musk was waiting for SpaceX’s 21st (and record-breaking) rocket launch of the year on Saturday when he revealed that construction of a prototype for a Mars spaceship, called Starship, is now underway at the company’s Texas launch site.

You always hear about the best time to book your travels for big savings, but do you ever follow up? Hint: You’re better off nabbing Thanksgiving flights now. That’s according to Hopper, a startup that relies on big data to help you purchase cheap airfares through its app. Now, it’s applying its predictive smarts to hotels, starting in NYC.

Why should you care? Let’s crunch the numbers. Hopper has amassed 17 million installs in just a couple years, and secured $ 83 million in funding along the way. To deliver the best deals, its algorithm consults around 10 to 15 billion historical flight prices per day. And, over time, it learns from your preferences to dish up personalized recommendations. The startup told TechCrunch its predictions are 95 percent accurate, up to six months in advance.

With its latest feature, Hopper is hoping to do the same with hotels. Its tech will collect 10 million price quotes daily for over 500 hotels in New York City, which happens to be its most popular travel destination — making it the ideal place to start. Of course, there are plenty of rival booking services out there already, so it will have its work cut out.

Like flights, hotels will be displayed on a color-coded calendar (and through a new map interface). Once you modify your selection — using filters for rating and location — the app will tell you whether to buy, wait, or if prices are expected to go up. Hotel profiles are also on hand in the form of Snapchat-style Stories. The update is initially available on iOS, and more locations (including San Francisco, LA, Miami, and more) will arrive soon.

GREATER Western Sydney has secured a huge re-signing on the eve of its finals campaign, with young midfielder Jacob Hopper committing for a further two years.

Hopper had been out of contract at season’s end, with a host of rival sides including Adelaide, Geelong, Carlton and St Kilda believed to be circling the talented 20-year-old.

However, in what the Giants hope will be the first of many major re-signings ahead of this year’s trade and free agency period, Hopper has penned a two-year extension.

Still one of the premiership favourites after a fourth-placed finish this season, the Giants will now wait anxiously for star midfielder Josh Kelly and forward Devon Smith to do likewise.

Kelly is now the league’s most wanted man after Richmond star Dustin Martin signed a lucrative seven-year contract extension with the Tigers, with the 22-year-old still uncontracted.

Carlton, St Kilda and North Melbourne have registered their interest in Kelly, with Geelong and Collingwood among the teams believed to be vying for Smith’s signature.

Hopper was a member of the GWS academy before being recruited to the club with Pick 7 in the 2015 national draft. He has played 20 games for the Giants, including 10 this year.

He has battled a series of injury issues throughout his two-year stint at the club, but returned for the final four games of this season and is set to take part in its finals campaign.

David Harbour, who plays Hawkins police chief Jim Hopper, suggested that change was afoot for his character in the new run.

The 43-year-old US actor said that Hopper would be going on a “different arc” in the second run and that his character could be put at risk.

In a video interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Harbour explained: “He’s a different man than he was in season one and he gets to go on a different arc. 

“The first season he really sort of discovered why he was dead inside and like how he was finding his way out and he kind of came to life. And so in the second season, his arc is very different.”

He went on to say: “We start with a man who has sort of become heroic in a certain way, right? I mean he still has some of his stuff but he has gone on this heroic journey and now sort of the beginning of the [first] episode, we start examining the perils of what it is to be a hero or perhaps the fantasies that you have about yourself and the dangers of that. 

“And that subtle arc takes him in a different direction which, I think, is equally satisfying but very, very different.”

The executive of the Netflix show also confirmed that Barb (played by Shannon Purser) would not be returning to the show despite becoming an unlikely fan favourite.

Levy explained in a Facebook live session: “We are going to do things that fans will ultimately be disappointed in but I think they will be more satisfied by.” 

He also teased the second season, saying it will be much “darker and scarier” than the first instalment and that no one is safe as the story.

Stranger Things season 2 lands on Netflix on October 31.
