About 24 hours prior to its collision, NASA’s Double Asteroid Redirect Test (DART) probe performed its last course correction based on commands sent by ground controllers. “It’s pointed to within a football field of the central body,” said Bobby Braun of the Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Lab (APL). “That last maneuver was spot-on.”

Here’s a little quaran-treat for the families out there: the forecast now calls for Frozen 2 to land on the Disney+ streaming service more than three months early, on Sunday, March 15.

The upstart streaming service/home of Baby Yoda announced the crowd-pleasing scheduling move on Friday evening, ahead of what is expected to be a long weekend capping one of the world’s lonnnnngest weeks, as the coronavirus conversation dominated the airwaves and compelled more and more people to stay home/indoors. The company’s press release said the move aims to surprise “families with some fun and joy during this challenging period.”

Internationally, Frozen 2 will be available on Disney+ in Canada, the Netherlands, Australia and New Zealand on Tuesday, March 17. Stateside, the film will initially be available in HD, with Ultra HD video playback available on March 17.

Set three years after the events of the 2013 blockbuster, Frozen 2 brought back Idina Menzel, Kristen Bell, Jonathan Groff and Josh Gad as the voices of Elsa, Anna, Kristoff and Olaf, while new voice cast members included Sterling K. Brown, Evan Rachel Wood, Alfred Molina and Martha Plimpton.

Frozen 2 , which made its theatrical debut on Nov. 22, was originally scheduled to not land on Disney+ until June 26.

A KLM flight flying to Amsterdam from Abu Dhabi had to be escorted by two fighter jets from the Dutch airforce after a fight broke out on board.

A 29-year-old American man caused the fracas when he became “aggressive” after being asked to return to his seat.

The fight broke out 30 minutes before the flight was due to land at Schiphol airport, Amsterdam early on Saturday.

Joanna Helmonds, a spokeswoman for the country’s border police, told AFP: “A scuffle broke out and the cabin crew, together with other passengers, managed to restrain the man.”

Dutch television news service RTL Nieuws reported that the man “started punching everyone around him.”

According to a flight attendant who spoke to Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf, the man “started screaming and hitting wildly” after the crew managed to get him to his seat.

“His behaviour was very threatening from one moment to the next,” she added.

The cabin crew member also said that the man didn’t seem to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

Helmonds said several passengers were lightly wounded, two of whom were left with black eyes.

The Dutch air force sent two F-16 fighter jets to escort the flight to the airport.

The jets, which are armed with air-to-air missiles, are on high alert but are only used in highly unusual cases, the Dutch air force said.

Normally such jets are only sent in “exceptional” cases when air traffic control can’t contact the plane, or if there’s no thirdly if the pilot does not identify themselves, an air force spokesperson told RTL Nieuws.

The KLM Airbus A330-200 jet was given special clearance to land immediately at Schiphol airport.

Police arrested the man on arrival and he was examined at the airport, said Helmonds.

Officers said that he was disoriented and was admitted to a psychiatric institution for observation, she added.

A spokesman for KLM told AFP the airline “regretted the unpleasant incident”, but that cabin crew followed the normal procedures when dealing with an unruly passenger.

“Passengers and crew have laid a complaint against the man,” Heleen Makkinga said.

Express.co.uk has contacted KLM for further comment on the incident.

Last month a man on a flight from Mumbai to Kolkata in India was kicked off a plane after he attempted to enter the cockpit as the aircraft prepared to take-off. 

He tried to enter the cockpit and said he needed to charge his phone, which constituted as “security violation,” the carrier has said. It’s believed he was drunk.

The Happy Death Day sequel is coming, and it officially has the best name ever. The follow-up to Blumhouse’s horror riff on Groundhog Day is officially called Happy Death Day 2U. What’s not to love? Happy Death Day 2U will find its way to theaters in time for Valentine’s Day in 2019, so grab the hand of the one you love and get ready to spend a romantic evening with Blumhouse.

Happy Death Day may have looked like a cheap knock-off of Groundhog Day (or Edge of Tomorrow, for that matter), but it was surprisingly fun. More than that, it was a hit (taking in $ 123 million worldwide), which means Blumhouse is ready for a sequel. Happy Death Day 2U will hit theaters February 14, 2019. In case you’ve yet to see the first film, here’s the synopsis:

Tree Gelbman is a blissfully self-centered collegian who wakes up on her birthday in the bed of a student named Carter. As the morning goes on, Tree gets the eerie feeling that she’s experienced the events of this day before. When a masked killer suddenly takes her life in a brutal attack, she once again magically wakes up in Carter’s dorm room unharmed. Now, the frightened young woman must relive the same day over and over until she figures out who murdered her.

Jessica Rothe, who played Tree (cool name!), is back for the sequel. As for what the sequel is about, details are vague. All we know is that “Tree will discover that dying over and over was surprisingly easier than the dangers that lie ahead.” Christopher Landon, who directed the first film, will serve as writer-director on this sequel.

“Chris has done this incredible thing where the sequel,” Rothe told Collider, “the way he described it to me, elevates the movie from being a horror movie – and I wouldn’t even say it’s just a horror movie because it’s a horror, comedy, rom-com drama – into a Back to the Future type of genre film where the sequel joins us right from where we left off, it explains a lot of things in the first one that didn’t get explained, and it elevates everything. I was really pleased to know that we weren’t just gonna be pushing all the buttons that people loved the first time, over and over again, ‘cause I think that gets old. I’m really excited to see if it comes to fruition and, if it does, what the final product looks like.”

The NTSB released its preliminary investigation report concerning the fatal tesla crash that occurred on March 23, 2018 in Mountain View, California today. The agency does note that the report is subject to change.

During their investigation and with data provided by the Model S involved in the crash, while in Autopilot mode the vehicle sped up to 70.8 miles-per-hour three seconds before the impact with a previously damaged crash attenuator.

“While following a lead vehicle the Tesla began a left steering movement, seven seconds before the crash. The Tesla was no longer following a lead vehicle four seconds before the crash,” the report notes.

Previous to the impact, the Tesla was tracking the vehicle in front of it in the carpool at 65 miles-per-hour eight seconds before the crash. Its adaptive cruise control was set at 75 miles-per-hour. After the collision, the NTSB states:

The Tesla was subsequently involved in collisions with a 2010 Mazda 3 and a 2017 Audi A4. The Tesla’s 400-volt, lithium-ion, high-voltage battery was breached during the crash and a post-crash fire ensued. The Tesla’s driver was found belted in his seat and bystanders removed him from the vehicle before it was engulfed in flames. The Tesla driver suffered fatal injuries while the driver of the Mazda suffered minor injuries and the driver of the Audi was not injured.

The report also notes that the car was in AutoPilot mode for 18 minutes and 55 seconds ahead of the collision. During that time the car provided two visual and one auditory alert for the driver to place his hands on the steering wheel. These alerts occurred 15 minutes before the crash.

“The driver’s hands were detected on the steering wheel for a total of 34 seconds, on three separate occasions, in the 60 seconds before impact. The vehicle did not detect the driver’s hands on the steering wheel in the six seconds before the crash,” the report goes on to say.

The NTSB closes out its preliminary report stating that major investigations and investigations involving fatalities are generally completed in 12 to 24 months.

Praise be, The Handmaid’s Tale is coming back for another season. Hulu has greenlit The Handmaid’s Tale season 3, renewing the soul-crushing, Emmy-winning series just after the streaming service hit a whopping 20 million U.S. subscribers.

The Handmaid’s Tale season 2 made a record-breaking premiere last week, drawing in double the audience numbers of the season 1 opener, according to Deadline. In lieu of the critical and commercial success of the Emmy and Golden Globe-winning show, it was no question that Hulu would renew The Handmaid’s Tale for season 3.

This would take the series even further from the Margaret Atwood novel upon which it’s based. The first season of The Handmaid’s Tale ended where the book ended, and season 2 has been boldly striking out beyond its former creative limitations. I wrote in my review of the sophomore season of The Handmaid’s Tale that the show was finally making strides to become its own show beyond Atwood’s book.

Buoyed by its razor-sharp focus on its female characters, The Handmaid’s Tale season 2 surpasses its first season. Though it does sometimes give in to the show’s penchant for political awkwardness and has prolonged, miserable scenes that could rival Game of Thrones‘ torture porn, it seems like the Hulu series is all the better for stepping out from the shadow of Atwood’s book.

But the series is so bleak that I wonder how far season 3 can go without losing its audience. Season 2 has already pushed the limit on emotional trials, and I imagine the third season would double down on the show’s distressing mood. Elisabeth Moss and the rest of the cast continue to give brilliant performances, but season 3 would have to drastically change things up in order to maintain the show’s critically acclaimed streak.

Hulu has consistently pushed complex, compelling original series like The Handmaid’s Tale and this year’s The Looming Tower, and it seems like Hulu’s commitment to quality original content is paying off. The streaming service hit a major milestone this week, passing 20 million subscribers in North America.

Hulu CEO Randy Freer said of the encouraging numbers:

“Hulu is the complete TV experience for consumers, offering both live and on-demand programming and more consumer choice than ever before.”

And Hulu will expand its slate of original content even more, picking up new series orders for Four Weddings and a Funeral and Ramy. These new series orders will join the highly anticipated upcoming Hulu originals Castle Rock, Catch-22, and Little Fires Everywhere.
