As announced last year, the Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves collection will bring these two games to the PC for the first time, following the collection's release for the PS5 this past January.

This news lines up with a leak last week that showed a listing for the game on the Epic Games Store with an October 19th release date. This confirmation comes after Sony had delayed the game's release from its original "early 2022" timeline. As you'd expect, there are a host of features relevant to PC players, including ultra widescreen monitor support and a host of graphics adjustment options including texture and model quality, anisotropic filtering, shadows, reflections and ambient occlusion. The UI has also been tweaked to better fit on PC and you can remap all controls as you see fit.

Speaking of controls, you can also play this game wirelessly with the PS4's DualShock 4 controller; if you plug in a PS5 DualSense controller, you'll get more advanced haptic feedback.

If you're interested, Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves is up for pre-order on Steam and the Epic Games Store for $ 49.99. It's the first Naughty Dog title to hit the PC, but a number of other high-profile Sony exclusives (including Horizon Zero Dawn and God of War) have come to the PC in recent years. And Naughty Dog's latest release, the remade The Last of Us Part I will also be released for the PC, though there's no timeframe just yet.

The piece Charlie was discussing was from today’s national newspapers, and he spotted a positive story.

He said: “On the theme of the outdoors, some of the negative stuff about people being outdoors was about the litter, and too many people getting together.

“On a slightly lighter note in relation to people going outside – the countryside code, which is a good thing, all the stuff people maybe know about, like shutting a gate and keeping your dog under control, don’t litter – in amongst all the advice now they’re talking about part of the new code.

“Which is to make other people feel more comfortable – the idea is that you should smile more. Some people feel as though the countryside is not a place for them so you can do something and make a difference.”

“Indeed and the son of?” Bradley asked and The Governess replied: “Herbert Beerbohm Tree.”

“Who founded?” The host asked but before the Chasers could answer, Bradley said: “RADA.”

‘UK vaccine works’ Matt Hancock hits back at EU ’12 wk dose gap gives STRONGER protection’ https://briefnews.eu/uk-vaccine-works-matt-hancock-hits-back-at-eu-12-wk-dose-gap-gives-stronger-protection/ https://briefnews.eu/uk-vaccine-works-matt-hancock-hits-back-at-eu-12-wk-dose-gap-gives-stronger-protection/#respond Wed, 03 Feb 2021 09:49:48 +0000 https://briefnews.eu/uk-vaccine-works-matt-hancock-hits-back-at-eu-12-wk-dose-gap-gives-stronger-protection/

France has followed Germany and Austria’s decision to not administer the AstraZeneca vaccine to anyone over the age of 64, stating that there was not enough data on the Oxford vaccine’s effectiveness on the over-65 age group. However, the Health Secretary backed the UK’s decision and stated that the three-month gap between AstraZeneca doses leads to greater protection from the coronavirus.

Mr Hancock said: “The news overnight on the Oxford vaccine demonstrates that the vaccine protects you and it helps to cut the transmission of the disease across the whole community.

“It shows that the vaccine works and it works well.

“This figure of a two-thirds reduction in transmission is better than I expected.

“It is really good news for everybody and it just shows that the strategy has been right of backing those vaccines.

“The other finding in this report is that with the 12-week gap between the first and second dose you actually get a stronger overall protection than if you have a shorter gap.”

On Wednesday morning, Mr Hancock also admitted that the Pfizer vaccine needs two doses in order to reach the desired efficacy levels against the South African coronavirus variant.

The Health Secretary stated that some protection against the variant is good news as he had originally feared the UK’s vaccines would not work at all against it.

He said: “The fact that there is some protection of the South African variant is good news, there was a fear that the vaccines would not work at all against that variant whereas there does seem to be some protection.”

He added: “Of course against these new variants we made need boosters of a slightly adjusted vaccine as well in the same way we do for flu each year.

“We are working with the companies on developing those and ensuring that they can get regulated and be used more quickly than the first time around.”

Chris Packham hits out over Windsors’ trophy hunting support – Royal Family must ‘GROW UP! https://briefnews.eu/chris-packham-hits-out-over-windsors-trophy-hunting-support-royal-family-must-grow-up/ https://briefnews.eu/chris-packham-hits-out-over-windsors-trophy-hunting-support-royal-family-must-grow-up/#respond Sun, 17 Jan 2021 14:50:19 +0000 https://briefnews.eu/chris-packham-hits-out-over-windsors-trophy-hunting-support-royal-family-must-grow-up/

The Springwatch host and campaigner narrates Cecil: The Lion King, which kicks off Nat Geo’s Big Cat Week next month. Cecil, aged 13, was the subject of an Oxford University research programme when an American big game hunter felled him in Zimbabwe in 2015. Packham is now re-igniting his campaign to ban the imports to the UK of hunting trophies, and has asked the Royals for support, insisting they can be “valuable ambassadors”.

“Like many other people I was angry about what happened to Cecil,” said Packham.

“I was astonished that an animal that was part of a scientific study was killed in this way.

“For many people it was extremely shocking.”

In 2016 Prince William revealed he was in favour of trophy hunting in some circumstances, saying “there is a place for commercial hunting in Africa as there is around the world”.

Asked about the Royal Family’s position on the issue, Packham replied: “We’ve all changed our behaviours during our lifetimes, it’s about growing up.

“We change our minds as things change around us. I think we have to see the Royal Family going through a similar process. When they do things such as helping to remove the stigma of mental health, or helping disabled veterans, that’s been phenomenal.

“When it comes to the environment, they, like the rest of us, are in a learning process, and we have to encourage them to do that, celebrate the things they get right, and point out the things they get wrong, so they can continue to make progress. They can be valuable ambassadors.

“We have to encourage them to continue on that journey. What I would say to the Royal Family – keep learning, keep taking advice, keep updating your ideas, keep modernising and every message you send out will continue to make a difference. That can only be a good thing.”

And he said the legacy of Cecil endures: “He has become an iconic figure in the conversation about trophy hunting.”

Asked if the trophy hunters had a point that hunting fees fund conservation, he replied: “It’s a complex argument. In some instances, the money from hunting can feed back into the health of the human and animal population, but against that argument is the simple ethical one of what they’re doing as a trophy hunter.

“We’re about to watch programmes about beautifully important animals under threat because of habitat and climate change.

“So how do we justify – on top of all of that – the deliberate killing of these animals, surely just for self-gratification. It just doesn’t add up.

“In some countries now trophy hunting is not as popular with young people.

“It is an ageing pursuit because this age group are now better informed and don’t want to do it.

“They understand it’s a dangerous anachronism.

“We don’t have much time. We’re making a last stand for some of these species. We need legislation now. We need to stop it.”

‘We’re damaging a generation!’ Susanna Reid hits out at Starmer over school closures https://briefnews.eu/were-damaging-a-generation-susanna-reid-hits-out-at-starmer-over-school-closures/ https://briefnews.eu/were-damaging-a-generation-susanna-reid-hits-out-at-starmer-over-school-closures/#respond Tue, 05 Jan 2021 10:08:39 +0000 https://briefnews.eu/were-damaging-a-generation-susanna-reid-hits-out-at-starmer-over-school-closures/

Susanna Reid, 50, and her co-host Piers Morgan, 55, were joined by Sir Keir Starmer, 58, to discuss the latest developments arising from the coronavirus pandemic. However, the Good Morning Britain star wanted to ask the Labour Party leader whether he would challenge Prime Minister Boris Johnson, 56, about how children were going to cope as schools shut their doors. The journalist claimed students were going to suffer greatly now they won’t be in the educational environment for several weeks.

Reid said: “So now schools are closed, I’m devastated because really we are damaging a generation of children.”

Starmer agreed the decision was “really tough,” to which the presenter added: “I understand they have to be [out of school].

“I struggle with home learning and we have access to resources,” she continued, before challenging the leader of the opposition.

“How are you going to ensure that the government delivers the laptops and access to home learning resources that a lot of people don’t have?

“Because this is going to open up a gap in attainment hugely between private and state schools and within schools themselves between the haves and the have-nots,” the journalist remarked.

Starmer replied: “That’s exactly the problem. We’re back in Parliament on Wednesday so I will get my first chance in Parliament to press the Government on this.

“We’ve been pressing them for months because you may remember this, of course, happened last year when Gavin Williamson promised millions of devices would be made available.

“In the end, I think 40 percent of what was promised was delivered and that was the end of that. We can’t go there again.

“There’s a huge mishmash. Children in overcrowded accommodation who don’t have access to devices or where there are date charges that they can’t afford,” the politician continued.

The Prime Minister said on Sunday’s edition of The Andrew Marr Show there was “no doubt in his mind” children should return to the classroom before doing a U-turn just over 24 hours later.

Starmer has called for closures to be implemented before the start of the new term, telling the BBC: “We need to go back to where we were in March with very, very strong messaging about staying at home.

“I’m afraid that the closure of schools is now inevitable and therefore that needs to be part of the national plan for further restrictions.”

Taking to Twitter, viewers responded to the interview on Good Morning Britain as one wrote on Twitter: “Sir Keir Starmer proving intelligence, understanding and having a clear plan. This man is class. #gmb.”

Another added: “Yeah that’s right Keir Starmer calls for a national lockdown a few hours before Boris calls a national lockdown so it looks like it’s your idea. How thick do you think the public are #gmb.”

Whilst a third commented: “@Keir_Starmer looking impressive on @gmb could this be his finest hour and the moment he breaks through as a PM in waiting? #GMB @susannareid100 @piersmorgan.”

“Easy ride for Keir here. No real answers or anything of interest said. More coherent than Johnson though. #lockdown #gmb #KeirStarmer,” a fourth remarked.

A fifth posted: “Sir Keir saying some children won’t get the same level of education at home. Shame no one came up with a plan to provide internet to all… Someone in the labour party #gmb.”

Michael Gove hits back at BBC Breakfast host after dodging probe ‘Not what I asked’ https://briefnews.eu/michael-gove-hits-back-at-bbc-breakfast-host-after-dodging-probe-not-what-i-asked/ https://briefnews.eu/michael-gove-hits-back-at-bbc-breakfast-host-after-dodging-probe-not-what-i-asked/#respond Mon, 28 Dec 2020 11:15:24 +0000 https://briefnews.eu/michael-gove-hits-back-at-bbc-breakfast-host-after-dodging-probe-not-what-i-asked/

Mr Gove said: “Well, one of the things you have now is an opportunity to ask me questions about the deal and of course, we’ll have a debate in the House of Commons.”

The guest went on to remark how MPs would have been reading the deal “alongside their Christmas turkey” and insisted the mood of those he had heard from was that this is a “good deal.”

“But of course we’re more than happy to answer any specific questions about aspects of it,” Mr Gove continued, encouraging members of the public to also ask questions.

Asked by the host why Parliament hadn’t been given two days, the guest insisted: “We’re having full scrutiny in the sense of the extended parliamentary day.

“But again, we’ve been debating Brexit for a long time now and I think most Members of Parliament understand the clear instruction given by the general election which was to get it [Brexit] done.”

Bradley Walsh silenced as Judy Murray hits back after The Chase mishap ‘Always been quick’ https://briefnews.eu/bradley-walsh-silenced-as-judy-murray-hits-back-after-the-chase-mishap-always-been-quick/ https://briefnews.eu/bradley-walsh-silenced-as-judy-murray-hits-back-after-the-chase-mishap-always-been-quick/#respond Tue, 22 Dec 2020 19:31:00 +0000 https://briefnews.eu/bradley-walsh-silenced-as-judy-murray-hits-back-after-the-chase-mishap-always-been-quick/

Bradley Walsh, 60, was on hand to try and help former Strictly Come Dancing star Judy, 61, broadcaster John Inverdale, 63, actor Bernard Cribbins, 91, and television personality Scarlett Moffatt, 30, win some money for their chosen charities. Before they could do so, the team had to take on all five Chasers, who were dressed as iconic characters from the history of music. However, in the midst of The Chase Christmas special, the ITV quiz show host lost his composure and as a result, didn’t complete the question he was asking the tennis coach and her opponent, Jenny ‘The Vixen’ Ryan, 38.

The moment came when the presenter asked: “A young girl kills the first person she meets and then teams up with three strangers to kill again’ described which film?”

Explaining the choices of answers the pair had to choose from, Bradley said: “A, Into the Woods, B, The Wizard of Oz, C…”

Unfortunately, he couldn’t say the latter option of Annie Get Your Gun as he burst into hysterics thinking Wizard of the Oz was an absurd answer.

However, the countdown of the clock began and as a result, both Jenny and the former Strictly contestant locked in their answers.

Realising he’d made an error and the game had continued without him, the host declared: “You can’t! What? No! I haven’t said the last one yet.”

“Who pressed? Who pressed? Who pressed?” he asked the players, to which Jenny replied: “You never were going to press it!”

Frustrated over the mishap, Bradley asked: “Who pressed? I haven’t said C yet!” but Judy thought she’d hit back at the presenter.

“I’ve always been quick off the mark,” she said, silencing the host of the show as he smirked at the camera.

The presenter then wanted to continue with the game as he told the tennis coach she had locked down Into The Woods as her answer.

Putting their heads together for the first time in the episode, the four celebrities managed to accumulate 21 points Mark ’The Beast’ Labbett, 54, would have to match if he wanted to defeat them.

The Chaser decided to dress up as music legend Noddy Holder, 74, which was well-received by his opponents.

By the end of the Final Chase and with several pushbacks, the contestants managed to win the jackpot for their chosen charities.

This meant each player made a donation of £5,500 to a cause close to their hearts but the quizmaster was very frustrated he had been beaten.

However, he did still applaud their efforts and said the team were “very well deserved” winners of the game.

Taking to Twitter, viewers reacted to the result of the show, with one writing: “Glad the charities get some cash #TheChase.”

Another added: “You’ve got to let any team that includes Sir Bernard Cribbins win – he’s a national treasure!… #thechase.”

Whilst a third simply commented: “Well done team #TheChase.”

The Chase airs weekdays at 5pm on ITV.
