When M. Night Shyamalan’s third feature “The Sixth Sense” arrived on the scene, the gripping story, horrific visuals, and shocking twist earned the film six Academy Award nominations, and a Newsweek soon had a cover story declaring him “The Next Spielberg.” This unfortunately put Shyamalan on a ridiculous pedestal, which has turned him into one of the most hotly debated filmmakers currently working today. For the last few years, Shyamalan has been independently funding his own projects, a way to maintain the creative control of his vision.

Shyamalan avoided surprise endings for years after it became synonymous with his name, but since 2015 with “The Visit,” he’s been back to incorporating his signature twists, and making movies exactly the way he wants. It was announced about a year ago that Shyamalan was making yet another horror movie, the secretive and highly-anticipated “Knock at the Cabin.” Fans have been speculating for months about what the film could possibly be about, but as is the case with most of Shyamalan’s filmography, trying to predict the truth of the story is a fool’s errand. We can sit here and pretend we know what the film is about until we’re blue in the face, but no one will ever truly know what’s what until the final credits roll.

Fortunately, a new trailer for the film has finally been made available, so at least now our guesses can be somewhat educated. Let the predictions begin.

Watch The Knock At The Cabin Trailer

Loosely based on Paul Tremblay’s 2018 novel “The Cabin at the End of the World,” this home invasion horror film of the apocalypse has an absolutely killer cast. Excitement first sparked when “Guardians of the Galaxy” star and pro-wrestler Dave Bautista joined the film, with Shyamalan citing his turn in “Blade Runner 2049” as his reasoning for casting him. Shortly after, “Harry Potter” mainstay Rupert Grint was cast, who recently had a phenomenal run in Shyamalan’s Apple TV+ series “Servant.” The two are joined by Nikki Amuka-Bird who was seen in Shyamalan’s “Old,” with “Mindhunter,” “Hamilton,” and “The Matrix Resurrections” star Jonathan Groff and Ben Aldridge (“Pennyworth,” Fleabag”) rounding out the cast.

As is customary, Shyamalan is writing, directing, producing, and funding the film, with Jarin Blaschke (“The Lighthouse,” “Servant,” “The Northman”) bringing his vision to life as director of photography. “This one really changed me as a person and an artist,” the director said in a Tweet announcing the film’s wrap. Whether you love him or hate him, a new Shyamalan movie is always going to be worth talking about.

“Knock at the Cabin” arrives in theaters on February 3, 2023.

David Bruckner Knows He’s Taking On Something ‘Sacred’ With Hulu’s Hellraiser https://briefnews.eu/david-bruckner-knows-hes-taking-on-something-sacred-with-hulus-hellraiser/ https://briefnews.eu/david-bruckner-knows-hes-taking-on-something-sacred-with-hulus-hellraiser/#respond Thu, 22 Sep 2022 04:53:09 +0000 https://briefnews.eu/david-bruckner-knows-hes-taking-on-something-sacred-with-hulus-hellraiser/

Horror fans comprise one of the most passionate and dedicated fan subcultures in film, with many beloved classics hailed as untouchable masterpieces. And yet, because capitalism be capitalising, some of the greatest horror films of all time have spiraled into decades-long franchises to varying degrees of success. In the last year alone, new installments in the “Halloween,” “Scream,” “The Texas Chainsaw Massacre,” and “Predator” series have all been released, with even more legacy additions on their way.

One of those films is David Bruckner’s upcoming “Hellraiser” film for Hulu, the 11th film in the canon and first since the rights to the story reverted back to creator Clive Barker. The latter additions to the “Hellraiser” series are some of the most poorly-received films across all of the major horror franchises, which has put Bruckner in an extremely difficult position. If the new “Hellraiser” is a hit, he’ll be the man who brought the series back to life. If the new “Hellraiser” is another dud, this may be the final pin in the Cenobite’s head.

I was fortunate enough to attend a press conference this week for the new film, and it’s obvious that Bruckner knows exactly what’s at stake with the new film. “It’s my first time ever working with sacred IP and feeling a responsibility to what has come before us,” Brucker said. The director first burst onto the horror scene with segments in the films “The Signal,” “V/H/S,” and “Southbound,” before helming the stellar feature films “The Ritual” and “The Night House.” Bruckner also brought frequent collaborators Ben Collins and Luke Piotrowski to write the script for “Hellraiser.”

‘A Responsibility To Just Lose Ourselves’

As someone who works primarily in horror, Bruckner is fully aware that there’s an entire bequest riding on the success of this film. “‘Hellraiser’ is pretty hard,” he said. “I was joking, you know, it could be a person with a mask on and a knife, but it’s not, they’re inter-dimensional BDSM demons coming from a labyrinth, it’s complicated stuff to get right.”

What has always separated “Hellraiser” from its contemporaries like “Halloween” or even “A Nightmare on Elm Street” has been the complicated lore of the Lament configuration and the Cenobites. This is so much more than just a slasher series, especially when the aesthetics are rooted in the very real, underground BDSM queer scenes that inspired Clive Barker’s novel, “The Hellbound Heart.”

“Actually making one of these films, my admiration goes to all the filmmakers that have come before us on it,” said Bruckner. “So [we were] holding that in as high regard as we can, but also — and this is something that we all talked about as a team, and I think everybody was on board for — it was like we also have a responsibility to just lose ourselves in this and allow it to take us in different directions if we’re so compelled, and to be true to the story that we’re telling.” It’s clear that Bruckner has such sights to show us, and the wait to see how his take on “Hellraiser” turns out will be exquisite agony.

“Hellraiser” will be available to stream on Hulu beginning October 7, 2022.

US Attorney for the Southern District of New York Geoffrey Berman announces charges against Jeffery Epstein on July 8, 2019 in New York City.

  • Former US Attorney Geoffrey Berman said the potential for a second Trump administration "frightens me."
  • Berman said Trump would repeat "all of the dangerous and outrageous things he did as president" in a second term.
  • The former US attorney added that it is unlikely that Trump will be indicted on any charges before the midterms.

A former US Attorney said the thought of former President Donald Trump being re-elected "frightens me."

Trump has teased a 2024 run but appears to be holding his announcement until after the midterms in November. Meanwhile, he continues to repeat disproven claims that the 2020 election was stolen.

On NBC's "Meet the Press" on Sunday, former US Attorney for the Southern District of New York Geoffrey Berman said Trump's potential second term would be "dangerous."

"I shudder to think about it. The prospect of a second Trump administration frightens me," Berman said. "All of the dangerous and outrageous things he did as president will be repeated if there's a second administration, except this time, he's going to be more successful in doing that."

Berman added: "And remember, when he was president, he always knew he had to stand for reelection. If there's a second administration, he'll be free of those concerns."

After his Mar-A-Lago property was raided for a slew of confidential documents, Trump said on Truth Social that the raid was "one of the most egregious assaults on democracy in the history of our Country," according to The New York Times. At a rally in Youngstown, Ohio this weekend, Trump decried the "unprecedented weaponization of the Justice Department and the FBI," NBC reported.

Berman – who volunteered for the Trump campaign in 2016, per NBC – expressed frustration about Trump's criticisms of the Justice Department.

"Trump is trying to portray himself somehow as the victim of a politicized Department of Justice," Berman said. "It was under Trump and under Barr that the politicization of the Department of Justice actually occurred. There's no evidence supporting that he was victimized."

Berman added that it's unlikely that the raid will lead to any indictments of Trump before the midterms.

"I don't think anything dramatic should be expected prior to the election," Berman said.

Rafael Mariano Grossi, Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency, speaks to press members after inspecting the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant with delegation in Zaporizhzhia, Ukraine on September 01, 2022.

  • A nuclear watchdog agency inspected the Zaporizhzhia nuclear plant in Ukraine.
  • IAEA chief Rafael Mariano Grossi said the "physical integrity" of the plant was "violated."
  • The inspection of the plant came amid weeks of shelling, causing damage to the facility.

A top UN nuclear watchdog official said the "physical integrity" of southern Ukraine's Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant — caught in the center of intense hostilities and fighting — has been "violated."

"It is obvious that the plant and physical integrity of the plant has been violated several times," International Atomic Energy Agency Director General Rafael Mariano Grossi told reporters on Thursday, according to media reports, including The Guardian.

Grossi returned on Thursday from a highly anticipated inspection of the plant, which is occupied by Russian forces and is the largest in Europe.

"There were moments where fire was obvious, heavy machine gun, artillery, mortars, at two or three times — really, very concerning, I would say, for all of us," Grossi said in a video captured by freelance journalist Sergio Olmos.

Grossi and a crew of IAEA inspectors arrived at the plant Thursday afternoon to investigate the facility's safety and security after facing delays caused by heavy shelling in the area. Leading up to the visit, the agency said its mission faced the dangers of increased military activity but said it wouldn't stop them from completing an inspection of the site.

"Of course, there is a lot more to do — my team is staying on," Grossi said in a video message after touring the plant. "Most importantly," he added, the IAEA is "establishing a continued presence" at the facility.

The IAEA's visit comes after weeks of shelling around and at the plant, causing damage to the physical facility, triggering power disconnections, and forcing the plant — which is staffed by Ukrainian civilians — to shut down at times. Kyiv and Moscow have traded blame for various attacks.

Western intelligence has accused Russia of using the plant's protected status as a shield, which has left Ukrainian forces reluctant to attack. Watchdog agencies, including the IAEA, have warned that fighting severely raises the risk of a major accident or nuclear disaster and have pushed for international inspections to assess the plant's stability.

Meanwhile, the European Union has sent millions of anti-radiation tablets to Ukraine so it can protect civilians living near the plant if an accident triggers the release of radiation.

Joe Biden’s top credential running in 2024, his allies say, is that he’s beaten Trump before https://briefnews.eu/joe-bidens-top-credential-running-in-2024-his-allies-say-is-that-hes-beaten-trump-before/ https://briefnews.eu/joe-bidens-top-credential-running-in-2024-his-allies-say-is-that-hes-beaten-trump-before/#respond Thu, 01 Sep 2022 22:06:17 +0000 https://briefnews.eu/joe-bidens-top-credential-running-in-2024-his-allies-say-is-that-hes-beaten-trump-before/ Joe Biden and Donald Trump
President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump

  • Polls have shown most Democrats want a different presidential nominee in 2024.
  • But Biden's Democratic allies say Biden's ability to defeat Trump can't be overlooked.
  • The idea of a Trump run is "weighing" on Biden, who will speak tonight on threats to American democracy.

Rep. Ro Khanna of California has been testing a message on "economic patriotism" that he thinks could resonate across the country. His name comes up as a possible presidential contender, and he says he'd like to play a larger role in leading the country.

But that will come later, "after we defeat Trumpism," he told Insider. He's backing President Joe Biden if he decides to run in 2024 — because he's already proven that he can beat former President Donald Trump.

"The question is simply, who will be the best to defeat Trump?" Khanna said. "Obviously he has the advantage of having defeated him before. For those who are saying someone else, the metric should be, well, make the case of why they would be better to beat Donald Trump…and carry Wisconsin, Michigan and Pennsylvania."

Polls have shown most Democrats want a different presidential nominee in 2024. But Biden's Democratic allies, who are concerned about the future of democracy, say Biden's ability to defeat Trump can't be overlooked as the twice-impeached, legally challenged former president appears poised to try again.

"If our focus is on winning, then going with the guy who knows how to beat Donald Trump is a pretty smart play," Sen. Chris Murphy, a Connecticut Democrat, told Insider.

Eric Schultz, deputy White House press secretary during the Obama administration, said Biden being the only candidate in either party to defeat Trump is "not a small thing. And given Trump's stranglehold on the GOP, that's a fairly compelling credential."

Biden has compared the "MAGA philosophy" that Trump espouses to "semi-fascism." He will give a prime-time speech tonight on his concerns about threats to American democracy, hours after Trump told a radio show host that he is "financially supporting" and will look "very favorably" on pardons for those convicted of crimes related to the January 6 Capitol riot if he runs and is re-elected in 2024.

Biden's sense of obligation to the country, himself and his family "would be even greater" if Trump decides to run, given what he'd be like if re-elected, said a Biden friend and former staffer, who declined to be named to speak candidly. "The obligation would be cataclysmic, existential, monumental," the friend said.

Biden considers Trump and Trumpism an "existential threat," said the friend, defining "Trumpism" as "mindless craziness."

Khanna said the possibility of Trump running is "weighing" on Biden. "It's not just the next generation of Republicans," Khanna said. "It's someone who literally has done so much destruction, damage to our democracy."

Khanna is a progressive who supported Sen. Bernie Sanders in the 2020 presidential election and he said he would support him again. But even Sanders, an independent, said he would support Biden in 2024.

Biden, who is 79, has said he expects to run in 2024 if he is in good health.

If Trump doesn't run, Khanna said, "I think it would be a different calculation" for Biden. But Khanna expects Biden to run, based on his conversations with senior officials in the White House and Democratic National Committee and the sense that Biden "understands the challenge we face with Donald Trump."

A USA Today/Ipsos poll released on August 28 showed most Democratic voters (56%) think Biden should not run for re-election in 2024. In July, 64% of voters planning to participate in the Democratic primary in 2024 said they don't want Biden to be the nominee. His age and job performance were part of the problem, according to the New York Times/Siena College Poll.

Former presidential advisor David Gergen told Insider that Biden and Trump should both sit out 2024 because of their ages. Younger candidates may be able to beat Trump, but they won't get attention until it's clear that Biden won't be the nominee, he said. A Republican blowout in the midterms will put "enormous pressure" on Biden to step aside, he said.

Presidential historian Doug Brinkley agreed that as long as Biden believes he's the best person, no one can see the alternatives.

At this point, Biden must have a "messianic streak, a feeling that 'the country needs me,'" Brinkley said. Democrats are united in their opposition to Trump in power and "Biden's the one that can say I already slayed that dragon and I'll slay him again," he said.

Biden wasn't going to run in 2020, "for real," he told the Associated Press. But he was persuaded when he heard the "other guy," Trump, say there were "very fine people on both sides" during a violent clash in 2017 between white supremacists and counter protesters in Charlottesville, Va., that left one woman dead.

Before running in 2020, Biden hosted the Delaware congressional delegation for a lunch in Washington, overlooking the Capitol mall and Washington monument, said Sen. Tom Carper, a Delaware Democrat. Biden laid out polling and advice from consultants that made a compelling case for him to run against Trump, Carper said during an interview last year. He was trying to decide what to do and said his wife Jill wanted him to run more than he did.

Carper said he told Biden then that Democrats needed someone who could win, unite the party and the country, and he was the only person who could do that.

"I'm not sure our democracy could survive another four years of Donald Trump, honestly," Carper said. "And he was like the firewall to keep that from happening."

Sen. Chris Coons, a Delaware Democrat, said Biden was open to the idea, then, that someone else could win in 2020.

"It was only after being persuaded that without him, Trump would be reelected, that he dove in and chose to run," Coons said.

Coons said he watched the January 6 committee hearings closely and he's worried about the future of democracy.

"I think we should be aware that former President Trump is likely to run again, is likely to be a strong candidate," he said. "And we need to put up the strongest possible candidate we can from my party, and right now that candidate is President Biden."

‘He’s off!’ Andi Peters runs off Lorraine as he refuses to chat to reporter Ross King https://briefnews.eu/hes-off-andi-peters-runs-off-lorraine-as-he-refuses-to-chat-to-reporter-ross-king/ https://briefnews.eu/hes-off-andi-peters-runs-off-lorraine-as-he-refuses-to-chat-to-reporter-ross-king/#respond Thu, 08 Apr 2021 09:24:26 +0000 https://briefnews.eu/hes-off-andi-peters-runs-off-lorraine-as-he-refuses-to-chat-to-reporter-ross-king/

Andi Peters joined Cat Deeley on Lorraine in the studio as he shared details of the latest competition. However, he quickly rushed off when Cat revealed Ross was coming up next on the show to talk about his exclusive interview with singer Demi Lovato. Andi didn’t even bother to make an excuse for his exit but simply got up and ran off.

Cat remarked: “I think he’s asleep,” pointing to Andi, who could be seen reclining in an armchair.

“No I’m just relaxing, sunbathing,” Andi shouted. “What’s on next?”

Cat replied: “Ross, he’s in LA,” before the presenter jumped up and ran off set.

“Oh God Ross, okay, no way, can’t stay for that,” Andi exclaimed as he disappeared leaving Cat stunned.

The presenter was left looking a little confused before welcoming the entertainment reporter live from LA.

“Ross, good morning,” she began as Ross joked: “Good morning, everyone’s a critic.”

Cat confirmed Andi was still in the ITV studios but had just hidden behind the cameras.

As a shot of the presenter popped up, Andi said: “Love you Ross,” before blowing him a kiss.

Another added: “Love, love, love #CatDeeley ! Keep her permanently please!”

A third continued: “Cat Deeley on the box. In for #lorraine Hope this become a permanent fixture!”

However, some weren’t as impressed as they begged for Lorraine Kelly to return to her chat show.

“@catdeeley is god awful on this show. She’s managed to push her way in now she failed in the USA,” one unimpressed viewer posted.

‘He’s walking off’ James Martin shakes his head in dismay over Holly Willoughby comment https://briefnews.eu/hes-walking-off-james-martin-shakes-his-head-in-dismay-over-holly-willoughby-comment/ https://briefnews.eu/hes-walking-off-james-martin-shakes-his-head-in-dismay-over-holly-willoughby-comment/#respond Mon, 08 Mar 2021 15:18:29 +0000 https://briefnews.eu/hes-walking-off-james-martin-shakes-his-head-in-dismay-over-holly-willoughby-comment/

James, 48, joined Holly Willoughby, 40, and Phillip Schofield, 58, on This Morning to whip them up a number of delicious dishes. As is routine, the trio usually picks fun at each other and this often leads to rather hilarious moments on the ITV show. However, it seems the chef was less than impressed with a comment the mother-of-three made about it him when the programme returned to screens after an advertisement break.

With the chef getting set to make some pork crackling, Holly decided to tell viewers what James was going to make preparing.

In doing so, she made a joke about his “meat”, which left the culinary genius shaking his head as he cringed at the joke.

Going one step further, the kitchen wizard then headed towards the doors of the studio and make a swift exit from the set.

The hosts were both left in hysterics and desperately tried to compose themselves after watching their guest walk off.

Taking to Twitter, viewers were more interested in how much butter the chef was putting into his dishes, with one writing: “Do you need any butter for this recipe James?”

“Never have I been so glad to see James Martin and his mound of butter,” another avid viewer posted on the social media platform.

Whilst a third fan jokingly remarked: “James is a great advert for his all butter diet any way #ThisMorning.”

A fourth shared: “Where the f**k is James Martin and the EU butter mountain when you need them, eh?! #ThisMorning.”

James continued: “Martin Frizell, who’s the boss of This Morning, phoned me up the year after and said, ‘We want you back,’ and I said, ‘Not a b****y chance.’

“That’s the toughest job in TV. No rehearsal, I didn’t know what was going on and the first subject was about a six foot woman goth with a crow and a Great Dane.

“The following conversation was about some women’s issues. I thought, ‘What am I doing here?!’,” he told Platinum Magazine.

This Morning airs weekdays at 10am on ITV.

Legacies EP on What Rafael’s Premiere Discovery Really Means: ‘He’s Always Wondered Where He Comes From’ https://briefnews.eu/legacies-ep-on-what-rafaels-premiere-discovery-really-means-hes-always-wondered-where-he-comes-from/ https://briefnews.eu/legacies-ep-on-what-rafaels-premiere-discovery-really-means-hes-always-wondered-where-he-comes-from/#respond Fri, 22 Jan 2021 05:07:55 +0000 https://briefnews.eu/legacies-ep-on-what-rafaels-premiere-discovery-really-means-hes-always-wondered-where-he-comes-from/

RELATED STORIES

For the second time in a row, Legacies kicked off a new season with Hope out of commission, leaving her classmates to scramble like headless chickens — angsty, magical headless chickens.

With the threat of Wednesday Addams Dark Josie finally behind them, the students of the Salvatore School attempted to piece together their fractured community on Thursday with some good ol’ fashioned physical fitness. (Seriously, why did Alaric think that a field day would solve anything? These kids were better off when fake Professor Vardemus was in charge.)

As predicted, the field day was a complete disaster — like, almost apocalyptically bad — though not for the reasons we all assumed. You see, Chad accidentally summoned a new Malivore monster named Nimue (aka the Lady of the Lake), followed by a skull-crushing baddie called the “Green Knight,” both of whom sought the fabled sword Excalibur. Nimue explained that only a “worthy” warrior could wield the blade against the Green Knight, but she conveniently forgot to clarify that “worthy” meant being born of a royal blood line.

After multiple failed attempts to remove the sword from the stone — including a cathartic two-person effort, courtesy of the Saltzman twins — Rafael showed up, yanked the legendary metal from its stone sheath, and plunged Excalibur into the Green Knight’s gross head. Apocalypse averted!

Meanwhile, the Necromancer spent the hour attempting to force Landon’s soul back into his physical body, which was the only way he could receive all the tasty black magic he so desperately craves. (Question for the group: If you didn’t rewatch the Season 2 finale, were you struggling to follow some of these rules?) Landon eventually did reclaim his body, but only to wake Hope up with a kiss; she surmised that her body must have sensed Landon was “dead,” so it just let her keep sleeping. (While we’re glad to see Hope conscious again, that resolution felt a little… convenient. Like when Bonnie suddenly broke Elena’s sleeping curse in the Vampire Diaries series finale without breaking a sweat, making us wonder why she didn’t just do it sooner.)

Then… one last twist! Chad and Alyssa, who formally joined “Team Monster” after Lizzie publicly shamed her for murdering her own parents (rude!), were taking a stroll in the woods, when Chad suddenly vomited black goo and died. Desperate to avoid meeting that same fate, Alyssa pledged her allegiance to the Necromancer, formally becoming his “eternal acolyte.”

Below, executive producer Brett Matthews answers a few of TVLine’s burning questions about the Season 3 premiere, including whether we might finally see Caroline back at the Salvatore School:

TVLINE | Rafael being of royal descent was a twist I didn’t see coming. Is this the beginning of a new journey for him?
This episode was really about the Super Squad banding together in Hope’s absence, so that moment for Raf was obviously a very big one. Raf’s journey through the first couple of seasons has always been about family. As a foster child, he’s always wondered where he comes from, and finding out that he’s connected to a royal blood line is an unexpected answer to that question. So he’s finally beginning to discover all of the things he’s always wanted to know about himself, including his family origins. He really felt like the perfect person to come in and save the day.

TVLINE | This is the second season that started with Hope out of commission and everyone having to pick up the slack. Was that intentional?
[Laughs] Well, the first couple episodes of this season were meant to go at the end of Season 2, so there was going to be a recurring theme there. You can kind of see where we intended to end the second season. We’ve gone back in and reworked some of those episodes a little bit. It was a unique experience that we all hope we never have to do again. I was just finishing the script for Episode 20 when we pulled the plug. You’ll definitely see the bones of where Season 2 would have ended; we think of the first four episodes as the “first chapter” of Season 3.

TVLINE | Josie wants to spend some time with Caroline, I have to ask the question I ask every season: Any chance we’ll see Candice King?
Our answer is still the same, and you’re probably sick of hearing it, but the door is always open to Candice. We love her and think so highly of her, and we love Caroline Forbes so much. We would be thrilled [to have her back], but it’s really up to her. We’d love to have the challenge of figuring out how Caroline fits into Legacies, be that for an episode or an arc or whatever. But it obviously depends on her schedule and the opportunities she’s pursuing in her career. While Legacies is very much a show that’s doing its own thing, it’s built upon the legacies of the other shows — hence the title being what it is — so we’d love that.

TVLINE | Now for the question on everyone’s mind: Is Chad really gone? Death tends to be pretty fluid in this universe.
Death is pretty fluid, but at the same time, it did feel like a tragic end to Chad. He’s a small character, but he definitely grew on us. I don’t know if we’ll ever see Chad again, but he’s pretty definitely dead at the end of this episode. His impact on the Necromancer will be felt moving forward. He will live on in other ways.

The cast of comedy hit The Big Bang Theory have kept their sense of humour during the coronavirus pandemic after the sitcom came to an end in 2019. A recent Instagram video from Kaley Cuoco and husband Karl Cook led to an unexpected reunion with her CBS co-star Johnny Galecki.

A cute and insightful Instagram video from Kaley Cuoco and her husband Karl Cook received a sarcastic comment from her former Big Bang co-star Johnny Galecki over the weekend.

The pair recently took to social media for a ‘walk and talk’ video explaining more about their shared love of showjumping and their experiences as a couple.

Cuoco captioned the post: “A cup of walking and taking! Get it? Horse showing with your significant other. Do’s and don’ts!”

Before quarantining together during the coronavirus pandemic, Cuoco and professional equestrian Karl Cook lived separately and train with separate showjumping teams.

Fans loved watching their dynamic play out on camera, and one half of CBS’s iconic sitcom couple seemed particularly taken by Penny’s real life partner.

Leonard Hofstadter Johnny Galecki commented: “I watched almost half of this. The result is that I am Unfollowing you and now Following @mrtankcook [Karl Cook].”

His comment sparked an uproarious reaction from Big Bang fans, including one who said: “Love that all of you are still best of friends. Please stay safe and healthy from covid Johnny.”

Cuoco and Galecki privately dated for around two years after the show first started back in 2007, and have remained on good terms since separating.

She also met her current husband through her second passion, showjumping, and used her Instagram platform to detail how she balances her career and personal life.

Cuoco said: “Even though we go to the same shows a lot of the time and we stable next to each other – and now it’s been many years, our teams know each other. But, there’s no cross-cantering.”

Cuoco’s puns caused Cook to put his head in his hands, and at one point he sighed: “Your analogies, honey…”

The equestrian pro then explained: “A lot of people they ask the question, ‘what’s it like showing together? It must be hard’.”

“A lot of people have this assumption that it is hard. I don’t think it’s hard; does that mean it was always easy? We figured out that it works for us.”

Following the new post, another fan commented: “Omg y’all are such an awesome couple! Cross cantering, I love it!”

Although The Big Bang Theory has been off screens for well over a year, the cast remain squarely in the public eye and Kaley Cuoco has proven she’s still a star to watch out for.

The Big Bang Theory is available to watch on Netflix.

Piers Morgan savagely defeated by Lord Jeffrey Archer on GMB: ‘He’s third division!’ https://briefnews.eu/piers-morgan-savagely-defeated-by-lord-jeffrey-archer-on-gmb-hes-third-division/ https://briefnews.eu/piers-morgan-savagely-defeated-by-lord-jeffrey-archer-on-gmb-hes-third-division/#respond Tue, 27 Oct 2020 14:34:51 +0000 https://briefnews.eu/piers-morgan-savagely-defeated-by-lord-jeffrey-archer-on-gmb-hes-third-division/

Piers Morgan, 55, is continuing to enjoy his two-week break from Good Morning Britain at the moment, with some of his colleagues stepping in to replace him. Actor Adil Ray, 46, and Charlotte Hawkins, 45, presented the ITV show on Tuesday and spoke with Lord Jeffrey Archer, 80, about a number of topics, including the Government’s handling of the coronavirus pandemic. However, with the Conservative politician releasing a book at the same time as the Life Stories star, he took down the journalist, joking they weren’t in the same division.

With Hawkins holding up a copy of the guest’s book, Hidden In Plain Sight, the presenter asked: “Are you worried about the competition?”

Lord Archer replied: “Oh good heavens no. I mean he’s top of division three, fighting to get into division two.

“I’m just sorry he isn’t there this morning to fight back,” the politician joked, adding: “I would have loved a punch up with Piers.”

However, the novelist did wish his opponent “luck,” telling the hosts: “He’s very good on television and he’s very good on his cricket.

“No, forget about the book, Piers. I shall not be searching for it on the best-sellers list,” the former MP said.

Hawkins said to Lord Archer: “I suspect he’s not going to let you forget that comment,” before thanking the guest for joining them.

Taking to Twitter, those watching at home commented on the former MP’s takedown of the outspoken journalist.

One viewer wrote: “What a nice conversation with these 3 this morning. Certainly a change from the shouting and arguing that usually takes place. Great to see Lord Archer looking so well.”

“GMB is turning into the book club, not in a good way,” a second added, with a third remarking: “Fighting talk from Archer @piersmorgan.”

Susanna Reid, 49, and her co-star will return to screen next week after taking a short break from the show over the half-term break.

Viewers haven’t seen the pair at the news desk since the middle of October, having only returned to the show following a summer break in September.

Informing those watching at home of his absence, Piers said at the time: “We’ve got half term off, really exciting, I’m going to move from the sofa downstairs to upstairs for my holiday.

“You get a two-week circuit breaker from us,” his co-host jibed, before explaining they would be back to cover the American Presidential Election.

The presenters will be on-screen for all week when they return as they usually only host for three or four days.

“The good news is because I know you’ll be missing us, we’ll be back for the US election week, and we’ll be there all week, all five days,” Piers said.

The Life Stories star added: “Last time we were on the roof in the middle of the two hotels, parted by less than a mile, Hillary Clinton in one and Donald Trump in the other.

“The reason we’re coming in all week is, I don’t think it’ll be over on the first night, I think we’re going to be in for a bit of a run.”

Good Morning Britain airs weekdays at 6am on ITV.
