Der Abtreibunsgegner Yannic Hendricks hat Berufung gegen das Urteil in einem Rechtsstreit mit BuzzFeed News Deutschland eingelegt. Das Düsseldorfer Landgericht hatte im Januar entschieden, dass wir den Namen von Hendricks öffentlich nennen dürfen.

Eine Begründung für die jetzt zugestellte Berufung liegt unserer Kanzlei Raue LLP noch nicht vor. Wir werden die Berufung zurückweisen.

„Yannic Hendricks ist einer der aggressivsten Abtreibungsgegner Deutschlands und zwingt mit seinem Vorgehen Ärztinnen und Ärzte in eine öffentliche, strafrechtliche Auseinandersetzung. Hendricks selbst will dabei anonym bleiben. Das geht nicht“, sagt Daniel Drepper, Chefredakteur von BuzzFeed News Deutschland. „Wenn eine Person so massiv die politische Debatte beeinflusst, dann muss es möglich sein, über diese Person inklusive Namensnennung zu berichten.“

Yannic Hendricks ist Abtreibungsgegner und hat nach eigenen Angaben dutzende Ärztinnen und Ärzte angezeigt, weil sie gegen den umstrittenen Paragrafen 219a verstießen, indem sie öffentlich über Abtreibungen informierten. Nachdem BuzzFeed News Anfang November 2018 seinen Namen veröffentlicht hatte, ging er rechtlich dagegen vor. Hendricks wird von der Anwaltskanzlei Höcker vertreten.

Das Landgericht Düsseldorf gab BuzzFeed News am 16. Januar 2019 Recht und begründete die Entscheidung damit, dass die Namensnennung nicht das Persönlichkeitsrecht von Yannic Hendricks verletze, insbesondere nicht dessen Recht auf Anonymität. In der Abwägung überwiege das öffentliche Informationsinteresse.

Durch seine Anzeigen habe Hendricks dafür gesorgt, dass eine Vielzahl von Personen „ohne ihren Willen teilweise in eine breitere Öffentlichkeit gezogen werden“ – er selbst wolle dagegen unbekannt bleiben. Dies trage „zu einer kontroversen Debatte von nicht unerheblichem öffentlichem Interesse“ bei.

In der Urteilsbegründung wird auch argumentiert, dass Hendricks Ärztinnen nicht nur angezeigt hatte – sondern durch eine zusätzliche Beschwerde bei Gericht dafür gesorgt hatte, dass das Strafverfahren gegen die Frauenärztin Kristina Hänel fortgeführt wurde, obwohl die Staatsanwaltschaft beabsichtigt hatte, das Verfahren einzustellen. Deshalb sei Hendricks’ Handeln „kausal für die Verurteilung [von Frauenärztin Hänel] und anschließende Berichterstattung darüber“ gewesen.

Zudem habe sich Hendricks durch seine Interviews in der taz und im Deutschlandfunk „in noch deutlich stärkerem Maße an der geführten Debatte beteiligt“ – auch wenn die Interviews anonym veröffentlicht wurden. Hendricks nehme „eine herausgehobene Rolle“ unter den Abtreibungsgegnern ein und gehöre zu einer „sehr kleinen Anzahl an Personen, die Anzeigen wegen Verstößen gegen §219a StGB erstatten“.

Hendricks führt derzeit ein weiteres Verfahren gegen die Journalistin und Vorsitzende von pro familia Hamburg, Kersten Artus, die ebenfalls seinen Namen veröffentlich hatte. Die Urteilsverkündung und Verhandlung, welche für den 15. Februar am Hamburger Landgericht geplant war, wurde abgesagt. Offenbar werde Hendricks seine Klage gegen sie erweitern werde, schreibt Artus in einem Blogbeitrag.

Für Artus ist das schwer verständlich. „Hätte Herr H. wirklich Interesse, anonym zu bleiben, bzw. aus der Öffentlichkeit wieder schnell herauszukommen, er würde nicht immer wieder neues Öl ins Feuer gießen“, schreibt sie in ihrem Beitrag.

Tim Roth and Christina Hendricks are on the opposite sides of the law in a new upcoming Amazon series, Tin Star. The 10-part series was written and created by Rowan Joffe, the writer behind The American and co-writer of 28 Weeks Later. Joffe, who made his feature directorial debut with Brighton Rock, directs Roth and Hendricks in the pilot, which is about a British detective (Roth) who becomes a police chief in Canada.

The former detective and recovering alcoholic, Jim Worth, and his family moved to Little Big Bear in search of a more peaceful, quiet life. The town is what they were expecting and hoping for until a big oil refinery shows up and brings trouble with it. A wave of organized crime starts to consume Little Big Bear, with drugs, prostitution, and gambling in the mix. Once the refinery starts draining the town, Sheriff Jim Worth and a powerful figure at the oil refinery, Elizabeth Bradshaw (Hendricks), start to clash.

Joffe, who’s said he found more authorship writing for television, has been developing the series since around 2014. He sees it as a modern day western set in Canada. Here’s the Tin Star trailer:

The last half of the trailer sure does feature plenty of guns being loaded and cocked. The trailer also features a glimpse at another performance from Roth that I very much want to see. He’s a great actor, no question, who hasn’t starred in a television series since Fox’s Lie to Me. The actor recently co-starred in the new season of David Lynch’s Twin Peaks, and a well-liked miniseries that somehow flew under my radar, Klondike, which starred Abbie Cornish, Mark Csokas, Tim Blake Nelson, Richard Madden, and the late Sam Shepard. I almost feel sorry for missing a show with such a stacked cast.

But getting back to Tin Star. Roth and Hendrick’s talents probably won’t go underutilized if they’re playing roles written by Joffe, who’s written some memorable characters over the last few years. A modern day western set in Canada with a former English detective, played by the great Tim Roth, does sound appealing.

Here’s the synopsis for the Amazon series:

Set in the majestic Canadian Rockies, Tin Star tells the story of a former British detective who brings his family to the tiny, tranquil town of Little Big Bear for a better life. But when his small town is overrun by migrant workers from a massive new oil refinery, the wave of organized crime that follows them threatens to sweep away everything in its wake and dig up the past.

Tin Star will be available to stream September 29, 2017.

Tim Roth’s lawman locks horns with Christina Hendricks’ oil refinery bigwig in the trailer for Tin Star, which is set to premiere all 10 episodes on Amazon Friday, Sept. 29.

Created by BAFTA award-winner Rowan Joffé (28 Weeks Later) and set in the Canadian Rockies, Tin Star tells the story of Jim Worth (Lie to Me’s Roth), a former British detective who brings his family to the tiny, tranquil town of Little Big Bear, where he is police chief, for a better life. Behind every Mad Man is a Good Girl — or something like that (you’ll see where I’m going with this in a moment).

Christina Hendricks, aka Mad Men‘s inimitable Joan Harris, has signed on to star opposite Parks and Recreation‘s Retta and Parenthood‘s Mae Whitman in NBC’s midseason drama Good Girls. She replaces Kathleen Rose Perkins (Episodes), who exited the project shortly after it was ordered to series. 

Described as Thelma & Louise meets Breaking Bad, Good Girls — from former Scandal EP Jenna Bans — centers on three suburban moms who decide it’s time to stick up for themselves by robbing the local supermarket with a toy gun. When the manager catches a glimpse of one of them and the loot is far more than they expected, it doesn’t take long for the three best friends to realize the perfect getaway will be harder than they think.

Hendricks takes over the role of Beth, the older sister of Whitman’s character and the ringleader of the group, a frazzled mother who’s beginning to realize she got the short end of the stick when her husband Dean (Matthew Lillard) has an affair. Dispirited, angry and fed up with her life, Beth struggles with guilt and fear in the aftermath of the robbery, but ultimately discovers a new, fierce side to herself, becoming a powerful force to be reckoned with.

Since wrapping up Mad Men two years ago, Hendricks has appeared on SundanceTV’s Hap and Leonard and Comedy Central’s Another Period.

If Jake Paltrow and Noah Baumbach’s candid and surprisingly intimate doc De Palma left you even more hungry for another Brian De Palma film, then you should be happy to hear the filmmaker will shoot Domino in the coming months. Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (Game of Thrones) and Christina Hendricks (Mad Men) are currently in talks to star in the crime thriller. The project, which Petter Skavland (Kon-Tiki) wrote, will hit the market at the Cannes Film Festival in search for buyers this month.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Coster Waldau will play a Copenhagen cop searching for his partner’s mysterious killer. The officer works with his late partner’s mistress, played by Hendricks, and another cop to find the man responsible for the murder. The game of cat and mouse involves a CIA Agent, an ISIS cell, and visits to Scandinavia and Spain – which are two locations I want to see from De Palma’s point-of-view.

De Palma will shoot Domino this summer. Producer Michel Schønnemann is hoping to make a “suspense filled thriller in the line of such classic as The French Connection“:

I have been a huge fan of Brian De Palma ever since I saw Scarface in 1983. So it is with great pride that I look forward to produce Domino, a script I have developed together with screenwriter Petter Skavlan. From the start, our ambitions have been to create a suspense filled thriller in the line of such classics as French Connection; having Brian De Palma on board only heightens this ambition.

Another thriller from a master of suspense starring Coster-Waldau and Hendricks? Count us in. De Palma’s previous film, Passion, had its dark and gleeful appeal, with some stunning and comical sequences. In the five years since that remake came out, the filmmaker has worked on a few projects, such as that cancelled Al Pacino-led Joe Paterno biopic, another thriller that would’ve reunited him with his Carlito’s Way star, and a thriller set in China.

While another collaboration between him and Pacino reads like a dream, that China-set thriller, Lights Out, in particular, sounded like a story we’d want to see from De Palma: “A blind Chinese girl unknowingly caught in a plot to expose a top-secret assassination program. Although blind, she can use her other heightened senses to fight back and become a hero.”

De Palma has lined up some promising projects over the years, ones we wish we saw come to fruition faster, but the good news we may not have to wait too much longer for another De Palma thriller.
