Taking to Twitter, Kerkovich penned to his 28k followers: “Today was a series wrap on the Lab Set. “I spat out a lot of scientific gibberish here, and for my first two seasons, I was probably in here 90% of the time. “My first memories of the show formed in this spot… RIP. Also I guess my arms are as long as my legs? #ncisnola.” Kerkovich had shared a snap of the lab set on its own as well as one with the actor striking a pose against the backdrop. Speaking about their career prospects at the start of the year, Anna-Jane admitted there was plenty in the pipeline but now it’s all been cancelled. “Immediately just gone,” Anna-Jane told Holly and Phillip. “(Jobs) are few and far between concerts but they’re very lucrative and now they’re just gone – terrifying prospect .” However, Anna-Jane wanted to remain in high spirits, telling the ITV pair: “We don’t want this to be a heartstrings story because we are very lucky – we work for a great company called Optimal.” The company the two have worked for have allowed the pair to balance their work and home lives in this tricky time. Just hours after Netflix cancelled The Society, stars Kathryn Newton and Gideon Adlon have taken to Instagram to lament the show’s abrupt ending. “I’m heartbroken, so heartbroken,” Newton said in an Instagram video after Netflix reversed its earlier decision to renew the teen mystery for Season 2. The actress then invited her castmate Adlon to join her in delivering a message to their passionate fans. The un-renewal is “definitely a bit of a gut-punch,” Adlon shared. “We’re definitely bummed about it. It’s a big bummer. But this is the way things work sometimes. We have no control over it.” Newton noted that although the world is “upside down” right now amidst the coronavirus pandemic, “we all really wanted to go back,” she said. “Everything was written. I can’t even believe it.” Added Adlon: “I’m sorry we left it on such a cliffhanger. We didn’t want that. We’ve all actually been waiting to go back. We thought we were going back pretty soon, actually.” “I’m so sad. I loved The Society so much. I loved Allie. And I loved our cast,” Newton concluded. The Society was picked up for Season 2 in in July 2019; new episodes were expected to drop sometime this year. Netflix on Friday confirmed that the cancellation was swayed by the coronavirus pandemic, which impacted the production schedule and budget. She continued: “They said they were sending me the audition tapes, but I was on the road, so I googled him on my iPhone as we were driving. “At this point he had relatively little film work and just a series of extremely bizarre still photos – his IMDb page is strange. “He is a very magnetic, charming young man and a very chameleonic actor, but he’s different, physically different, in every part. Some of his photos are strange! “I was sitting there typing, ‘This man is grotesque, what are you thinking?’ But that’s a running joke with Sam and I, now.” Outlander seasons 1-5 are available to stream on Amazon Prime now. Learn more Host Fiona Bruce spoke to guests including Chris Hopson, Chief Executive of NHS Providers, and George Eustice, Environment Secretary during Thursday’s episode. Viewer Margaret Collins called in to ask a question at the start of the show concerning the UK’s death toll, when she made the heartbreaking point that she doesn’t think there’s not much to celebrate. She said: “I read that according to statistics from John Hopkins University, Sweden has 28 deaths per 100,000 inhabitants, Norway has four deaths per 100,000 inhabitants, Denmark has 8.7, Finland has 4.5. “Even the USA has less than the UK at 21.7. “So they’re all lower than the UK which has a nationwide lockdown, and the toll is significantly higher at 44.4 per 100,000 inhabitants. “My question is why and how did the government let this happen when we had advance warning of their figures coming out of other countries? “As a country we are supposed to be celebrating VE Day tomorrow, but who feels like celebrating? “I don’t feel particularly proud of being British when I see figures like that.” Chris Hopson was called on first by Fiona Bruce to answer the question, where he said caution was needed when looking at the data. When asked about what he thought of the figures, he said: “It’s very concerning if you look at the levels of mortality that we have in this country. “When I talk to my public health colleagues, what they say to me is be ‘very careful about making international comparisons at this point.’ “Because there are a number of different reasons as to why different countries may have different death rates.” LATEST: Shameless! Crooks steal £166k worth of PPE from NHS staff and care workers George Eustice also fielded a question regarding how the government’s coronavirus contact tracking app would work. He said: “The idea is that people will go onto the app, they will enter their phone number and their post code, with no other personal details by the way. “If their mobile phone is in contact for a certain length of time, which is being trialled and piloted now, with other mobile phones in that area and that person subsequently shows symptoms and reports them, then those other people who have been in close or regular contact with that person will receive a notification. “While the duration I seer to be decided, those who receive a notification “should then self-isolate.” The show aired after Prime Minister Boris Johnson is due to announce plans for England’s lockdown on Sunday. Ministers have insisted short term changes to measures will be “modest”. At the government’s daily briefing, Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab described media reports on easing restrictions as “not a reliable guide”. He added that changes may vary between the different nations. “From day one in rehearsals, your dedication, to go from a non-performer, non-dancer, to achieve what you achieved on this show, I’m lucky it was me that taught you how to dance. “Thank you so much for every single second in rehearsals. On that dance floor you surprised me positively every single week. Thank you so much.” Nevertheless, fans were furious to see Emma going, believing it should have been Mike considering he had been in the bottom two three times in a row. Strictly Come Dancing continues next Saturday on BBC One at 6.50pm. Tyrone (played by Alan Halsall) was left to his own devices on Coronation Street, looking after his daughter Ruby Dobbs (Macy Alabi) when Fiz (Jennie McAlpine) decided to take her daughter Hope (Isabella Flanagan) to Birmingham for several months after the youngster was causing havoc with her behaviour. The mechanic’s grandmother Evelyn Plummer (Maureen Lipman) was on hand to help her grandson, though the two have recently become distant after it was revealed the pensioner was the one who left Tyrone on the steps of a police station when his mother gave birth to him years ago. However, florist and Weatherfield nanny Mary Taylor (Patti Claire) saw the help Tyrone needed in looking after Ruby, with the mechanic struggling to juggle his home life with his commitments to work at the garage. After months of being away from her partner, Fiz will soon make her return to the cobbles after Jennie McAlpine, 35, took a break from the ITV soap for maternity leave, but it might not be as simple as settling back into life on the street for her character. Although the couple’s relationship seemed strong before Fiz left the street, on her return to the cobbles, Fiz could struggle to adjust to life back in Weatherfield with Evelyn possibly continuing to make life difficult for the pair. When Fiz left the street once before 18 months ago, with the actress taking part in I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here!, Tyrone slept with Kebab shop worker Gemma Winter (Dolly-Rose Campbell) which put the couple’s relationship under strain when Fiz uncovered the truth. Tyrone has remained faithful to his partner this time around, however, with Evelyn only recently getting her own relationship back on track with her grandson following their dispute, she could decide to cause some mischief, having not taken a liking to Fiz when she first arrived on the cobbles. Evelyn could stir the pot if she discovers Tyrone accidentally thought Mary was his secret admirer when the mechanic received a Valentine’s Day card from his daughter last month, with the nanny writing the message on behalf of Ruby. However, wanting to bring a wedge between the pair, Evelyn could decide to tell Fiz her grandson was unfaithful to her again, having an affair with Mary while she was away from the cobbles. With Fiz out of a job as well following the tragic Underworld factory roof collapse which aired this week, the mother could begin to spiral into despair as she decides not to confront Tyrone but constantly worries whether she can trust her partner. Could Tyrone be left guessing what he’s done wrong if Fiz packs her bags once more and leaves Weatherfield with Hope for good as she struggles to accept whether she will ever be able to get over her partner’s supposed betrayal? However, if Fiz decides to confront Tyrone and Mary about their ‘affair,’ the former factory worker could turn her attention to booting Evelyn out the couple’s house once and for all when the mechanic explains his wires were crossed over the Valentine’s Day card. Actress Jennie McAlpine recently spoke about her future on the cobbles when speaking on the Humans of XS Manchester podcast. Jennie said: “The thing is, you never, never know and I can’t ever take it for granted because they (the writers) might have other ideas one day. “But for now, I love it and I live in Manchester. I’ve got my life in Manchester and now two children in Manchester,” the actress went on to add. It has not yet been confirmed when Fiz will be returning to Coronation Street but there will be drama aplenty as her brother Chesney Brown (Sam Aston) is set to become a father again with his girlfriend and his sister’s former love-rival, Gemma. The rebel with a heart found herself embroiled in the factory collapse disaster with the Underworld factory workers when they decided to protest about boss Carla Connor (Alison King) outsourcing production as she knew the roof was unsafe. Though they and the other Weatherfield residents didn’t realise, with the roof collapse claiming the life of beloved character Rana Habeeb (Bhavna Limbachia) when she went to the factory to get her bag on her wedding day to Kate Connor (Faye Brooks). Following the death of Rana and the disaster which unfolded, the finger of blame will be pointed at Kate’s sister Carla as a police investigation begins into how the roof came to collapse. However, what no-one yet realises is the carnage was caused by the soaps latest super villain, with the tragedy the first act in their reign of terror no the cobbles. Coronation Street continues Sunday at 8pm on ITV. The BBC documentary was fronted by Duwayne, who on April 22 1993 was waiting at a bus stop with his friend Stephen Lawrence. Stephen was attacked in a racially motivated assault by a group of men who stabbed the 19-year-old to death. Duwayne looked at the current issues with knife crime in the country to see where the problems stem from and the effect it has had on families and friends of those murdered. The documentary saw Duwayne interview the mother of Azaan John Kaleem, known as AJ, who was stabbed to death last year at the age of 18 as well as the parents of Elyon Poku, a DJ who went by the name of Nana Banger who was killed at the age of 20 last year in North London. He also spoke with Beverley and Mark Brindley, parents of James Brindley, who was 26 when he was murdered in an unprovoked attack just 400m from his parents’ home in 2017. Beverly said: “Something that has resonated with me…the look in the young police officer’s eyes and the doctors and nurses that were there and the paramedics. “Yes they are trained, they are there to do a job but I truly believe that’s the first time they had to witness and be part of something as horrific as that. Words fail me because nobody should have to be dealing with this. Nobody. “It’s one of those things. It must be as vivid to you as it is to us. It doesn’t go.” Duwayne then became visibly emotional as Beverly reached out to comfort him. Those watching at home claimed they were “heartbroken” by the programme and took to Twitter to comment. “This is utterly heartbreaking what is wrong with this world! #stabbed:britainsknifecrime,” one exclaimed. Another added: “This knife crime documentary is so sad. Put the weapons down #stabbed “What a heavy watch tonight. My heart breaks for those poor parents. #stabbed,” a third wrote. A fourth added: “I knew knife crime was an issue in the UK but watching #Stabbed is revealing to me just how bad it is. Shocked.” “Watching #stabbed on BBC. It’s really heartbreaking,” a fifth shared. A sixth stated: “Absolutely heart-breaking listening to all the families and friends who’ve lost someone to knife crime.. this has to stop !!!! #Stabbed #NoToKnifes #KnifeCrimes #DuwayneBrooks.” The close of the programme saw Duwayne conclude: “Every one of these attacks wrecks so many lives but I’ve learnt that change is possible. “The first step is recognising that alongside justice is understanding that the line between victim and perpetrator is often very blurred. “Without the recognition and treatment for those suffering with emotional trauma the spiral of violence will continue. “We need to address the fears our young people face before it’s too late.” The end of the programme also acknowledged how the Government had announced in its Spring budget for £100 million to be used for police funding to tackle the problem of knife crime. An official synopsis for the programme reads: “Knife crime is surging across the UK. In 1993 Duwayne Brooks was waiting at a bus stop in Eltham with his friend Stephen Lawrence when they were attacked by a racist gang and Stephen was brutally stabbed to death. “Witnessing Stephen’s murder left Duwayne severely traumatised. Still deeply affected 25 years on, he wants to take viewers on a personal journey into the current wave of knife crime and the impact it is having across the nation. “He meets victims’ families and friends as they cope with the aftermath of a loved one being killed and the ensuing fight for justice. “He engages with the perpetrators to understand what is making more and more young people turn to knives, and he explores what is being done to stem the violence. “Along the way, he revisits his own past, facing up to the trauma that has come to define him. “As the death toll rises each month, the film becomes a powerful account of a most deadly year – an intimate and revealing look at one of the biggest challenges facing the country.” Stabbed: Britain’s Knife Crime Crisis is available to watch on BBC iPlayer.

Desperate to make it as a stand-up comic, Naveed (played by Gurjeet Singh) plans were derailed when his mum discovered his arranged marriage to Nas Paracha (Amy Leigh Hickman) was a cover, and that he’s gay.
Kicked out of home, Naveed was supported by best friend Cory (Sam Retford), who he later slept with.
While it was a sigh of relief for Naveed, Nas warned him not to put all of his eggs in one basket as Cory has been known to sleep around.
Naveed returned home to pack his cases and left for good to move in with Cory, but was left devastated.
Heartbreakingly for Naveed, a half-dressed woman came down the stairs, having just slept with Cory.
Later in the episode, Naveed said: “You don’t need to explain yourself.”
Cory replied: “I wouldn’t even know how to. One thing just lead to another.”
“You’re my mate. This is stopping us being friends.”
Upset, Naveed asked: “Then why did you do it? You knew how I felt, and don’t say you didn’t.”
Cory continued: “You’re my best friend. You’re not like the others. I can talk to you and the other night you were upset.”
This prompted Naveed to snap: “So now it was charity? I don’t need your pity Cory!”
Cory fumed: “This ain’t just about you. How do you think I felt? Yes, I wanted to be with you that night. I’m trying to be honest with you. It didn’t mean the same to me as it did for you. Okay, I’m not gay, you’re not straight, let’s just get over it!”
Fans instantly took to social media, with one viewer raging: “Cory hun you are cancelled until further notice x #AckleyBridge.”
“Cory you’ve lost all my respect #Ackleybridge,” fumed another.
A third added: “Not only are you breaking Naveed’s heart but you’re also breaking ours Cory #AckleyBridge.”
“Cory had better realise he has feelings for Naveed by the end of this series #AckleyBridge,” said another.
A fifth posted: “#AckleyBridge so does Cory like Naveed or is that it done as I am a bit confused.”
“Cory might be being a little hurtful right now, but he brought Naveed’s parents to watch him do something he’s really passionate about and that is rather sweet! #Ackleybridge,” wrote another.
Naveed then performed another stand-up routine where he “officially came out” to the community.
His father and disapproving mother both attended, with Naveed having a one-to-one chat in the dressing room with his mum after the gig.
Naveed’s mother said: “I can’t pretend I understand. But for now, no more lies.”
She then gave him back his set of house keys, accepting him back into her home. Cory then entered and gave him a hug.
Ackley Bridge continues next Tuesday on Channel 4 at 8pm.
