Emmerdale‘s Lydia Hart (played by Karen Blick) finally mustered up the courage to undergo the Huntington’s Disease test after finding out the progressive brain disorder runs in her family. But will she receive the result sooner than expected and keep it hidden from her loved ones as they deal with yet another family crisis in the ITV soap? Lydia was looking forward to some me-time as Sam Dingle (James Hooton) headed out to help Nate Robinson (Jurell Carter) on the farm, but the peace was soon disturbed as loud-mouth Mandy Dingle (Lisa Riley) burst through the door. After revealing that Sam let slip she’d taken the test, Mandy is very supportive of her cousin’s wife at this worrying time, and promises she will help keep her mind off it by giving her her undivided attention. While Lydia looks forward to a distraction, their plans are soon interrupted as Mandy’s phone pings. After quickly glancing over the message from Bernice Blackstock (Samantha Giles), it soon becomes apparent another crisis is about to hit the family. READ MORE: Emmerdale spoilers: Victoria Sugden’s new love interest exposed? Bernice breaks the sad news that she’s selling the salon, after having to urgently leave for Australia late last year. With Mandy believing she was going to receive a pay rise, she’s more that shocked when she learns of Bernice’s intentions. With her job on the line, it suddenly all becomes about Mandy and Lydia’s distraction is to help her distraught loved one figure out what she’s going to do. In true Mandy fashion, this plot won’t be going away anytime soon and it could overshadow Lydia’s own woes about her health. As fans welcome (or not) two newcomers to the village, they’re set to wreak havoc on their retrospective families. First up, we have GP Manpreet Sharma (Rebecca Sarker), who’s sister will turn up out of the blue with a grudge to bear. The doctor, who married Rishi Sharma (Bhasker Patel) last year, made waves when she was outed as a spend-a-holic, plummeting her new family into a considerable amount of debt. But as her sibling arrives, tensions within the family sky-rocket once again as she drops an unholy amount of dirt on her sister. Before Wilson Bethel won over Rachel Bilson as her love interest on Hart of Dixie, he was just a guy sitting next to her in a kissing booth on The O.C. while Seth Cohen made his big “Acknowledge me now or lose me forever” declaration. The grand gesture proved successful for Seth, but Bethel’s jock Brad was not so lucky. In fact, he was never seen again, even though Bethel thought at the time that he had landed a recurring part on the hit Fox drama. During a recent chat about his CBS legal drama All Rise, Bethel took time out to reminisce about his big mistake on that first major acting gig, the role he originally auditioned for, and how it all lead him to Hart of Dixie. Bethel also discussed the HoD cast’s recent reunion and the possibility of a “redux situation.” TVLINE | When did it click for you and Rachel Bilson on Hart of Dixie that you worked together before on The O.C.? Tonight’s instalment of the ITV2 hit show saw air hostess Amy, 26, fighting to understand exactly what it was that broke down in her relationship with Curtis, 23. While the pair’s romance had seemed stronger than ever when she went away to the next villa, Curtis had been hiding his true feelings for a while. And now the preview for Sunday night’s episode shows Amy getting incredibly upset when she spies Curtis showing Irish beauty Maura how to dance on the garden patio, something he’d never done with her in Love Island. Maura and Curtis can be seen laughing and giggling, and it’s borderline flirtatious as Amy’s jaw drops open from across the villa. Furious with the situation, she spits: “He’s such a f*****g p***k.” Strong words – is Amy about to explode as things turn nasty between the pair? And how will Amy react when she realises her friend Maura is harbouring secret feelings for her ex? In the kitchen during tonight’s instalment, Maura had a chat with Curtis about how he felt following the split. Yet just as they talked, a white feather suddenly landed on the kitchen surface. Taken-aback, Maura told the dancer: “They say that a white feather is an angel close-by trying to tell you something. “Have you not heard about that?” “Continue. Elaborate,” Curtis urged, interested in the topic. “I’ve always thought [been told] it’s a sign – that it means something,” Maura went on. “I wonder what it means,” Curtis pondered, and the pair shared a moment. “We might not ever know,” Maura smiled finally. Maura later shared her true feelings with Lucie Donlan on the bean bags. “He’s obviously gorgeous. He’s very manly and I love that,” she said. “He’s funny. He’s the whole package for me.” Lucie was stunned by Maura’s confession, shaking her head. “Wow!” she cried, lost for words. “There have been so many times where I want him to teach me how to dance,” Maura added, as it looks like the contestant will get her wish. But did Amy hint at what’s to come in tonight’s episode when she said “let’s swap” to Maura? Love Island 2019 continues Sunday at 9pm on ITV2. ITV2 series Love Island has certainly had a tumultuous week after the fallout from Casa Amor with hearts broken and couples splitting up. In the fallout, Amber Gill and Michael Griffiths spilt up after he chose to recouple with Joanna Chimonides. Amy Hart and Curtis Pritchard were also on the rocks after he admitted his head had been turned by new girl Jourdan Riane. However, after Jourdan expressed an interest in Danny Williams, Curtis decided to stick with Amy and not try to recouple – and told the air hostess the truth. Curtis’ admission left Amy heartbroken and she confronted him last night (Thursday, July 5) as they tearfully appeared to split. There have now been reports in the Mirror that Amy has been taken out of the villa for some time out. According to sources, Amy will be returning to the show and just needs a breather. An ITV spokesman told Express.co.uk that Amy had not left Love Island. They went on to say: “We take the emotional well-being of all the Islanders extremely seriously. “We have dedicated welfare producers and psychological support on hand at all times who monitor and regularly speak to all of the Islanders in private and off camera, especially if someone appears to be upset. “All the Islanders are therefore fully supported by the professionals on site and by their friends in the villa. “This means Islanders are always able to reach out and talk to someone if they feel the need. We will of course continue to monitor all of our Islanders in line with our robust protocols. “Love Island holds a mirror up to relationships and all the different dynamics that go with them.” The reports come after Amy decided to speak to Curtis about what happened while she was in Casa Amor including his kiss and conversations with Jourdan. During the discussion last night, Amy said: “I feel like I was an acceptable placeholder until you found someone better. “You did but then she [Jourdan] coupled up with Danny so you came back to your back-up plan.” She continued as he just listened: “I don’t think you actually fancy me. “You’re having meaningful snogs with other girls when I’m not here. How is that OK?” “For me, absence made the heart grow stronger. For you, it was out of sight, out of mind.” Curtis denied it, saying: “That’s not true.” But Amy was not impressed and told him: “You knew this would break my heart and you still did it.” The ballroom dancer tried to defend himself, saying: “I always say you’re fantastic. I always say you’re amazing. I always say you have the most talents in this villa.” She hit back: “Exactly. That is what I held on to at Casa Amor and you still went behind my back and got with someone else.” In the end, Curtis admitted there was no guarantee his head wouldn’t be turned and Amy walking off before calling him a “liar”. Love Island airs nightly at 9pm on ITV2 Britain’s Got Talent 2019 returned this evening with hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly who introduced another set of talent-packed auditions. One performer, 28-year-old magician Ben Hart, stunned the entire auditorium with an electrifying magic trick. Stunning the audience, he performed a number of impressive tricks including transforming a piece of paper into an egg using a paper fan. Ben then asked Anneka, a member of the audience, to come up onto the stage before transferring her from one cage to another in a matter of seconds. Kicking off the feedback, David said: “Well you are a man of mystery aren’t you? Simon, you look very confused.” A visibly shocked Simon remarked: “That was unbelievable I mean, the egg, and that, and that, unbelievable.” Viewers watching at home were amazed by the magician’s act and took to Twitter to comment. One wrote: “Ben Hart was crazy! #BritainsGotTalent where the hell did that egg come from.” Another said: “Tell you what ben the magician on #BGT has blown my little mind #BritainsGotTalent” “What Ben just did was amazing! He had me with the egg! How’d he do that?i love to hate things I don’t understand #BGT #BritainsGotTalent,” tweeted a third. A fourth remarked: “How hot is Ben Hart his eyes thoooo..!! And I love magic lol. He was amazing..!! @BGT #BritainsGotTalent” “@ItsBenHart wow that was incredible!! Your showmanship and magic were amazing and I’m gutted you didn’t get the gold buzzer. Well done, I can’t wait to see what you do next! #BGT #BritainsGotTalent @BGT,” exclaimed a fifth. Later in the show, Amanda Holden was so impressed by one act she pressed the golden buzzer sending them through to the live semi-finals. Band Chapter 13, made up of Jacob, 14, Noah, 15, Tom, 15, and Jake, 15, wowed the judges with their renditions of three Stevie Wonder hits. Amanda Holden kicked off the judges’ comments and said: “I can honestly say that I don’t think I’ve seen four young musicians so together.” “The drummer you were amazing, the guitar playing was spot on, some of the faces you were playing were fantastic.” She continued: “I just think you were absolutely incredible.” “Now you’ve just got to win the whole show,” she added as she pushed the golden buzzer. The band are joining Kojo Anim, Giorgia Borg, Flakefleet Children’s Choir and Akshat Singh as this year’s golden buzzer acts. Britain’s Got Talent airs on ITV Saturday at 8pm. Hart was initially unveiled as the presenter of the iconic awards bash late last year, until a huge homophobia furore erupted – based on clips from his stand-up routines and numerous tweets with derogatory language from several years ago. He stepped down, leaving the Oscars officially host-less. But the row returned to prominence this week when he appeared on Ellen DeGeneres’ chatshow. DeGeneres – herself a trailblazing, openly gay woman – has said she believes Hart should be given a second chance and forgiven, but this has been met with criticism online. Hart said in the interview with her that has apologised for his past derogatory language multiple times in the past, but the likes of Variety and CNN’s Don Lemon have countered that, despite thorough investigation, there is no clear evidence of this. It was reported that the Academy would be open to reinstating Hart as host if he indicated that he was interested – and remorseful. But despite claims that the Academy were satisfied with Hart’s attempts to resolve the controversy, it seems he himself does not want to come back. According to Deadline, the actor and comedian fears he would become a distraction from the actual ceremony. And while the door is reportedly open for him to change his mind, it now seems very unlikely that Hart will be the presenter. So what will happen instead? The US industry publication suggests the ceremony will have multiple stars presenting awards – but no single main host. Deadline claims that Hart did “reconsider” his involvement, but wants to end the “controversial narrative” that has plagued his hiring. He is also said to be concerned about how much time would have to prepare if he was to be re-employed. The 91st Academy Awards are slated to take place on February 24, 2019. The nominations will be unveiled on Tuesday, January 22. One day after his controversial, Oscars-centric interview with Ellen DeGeneres, Kevin Hart is going on the defensive. In an Instagram post on Saturday, the embattled comedian addressed the backlash that has stemmed from his Q&A with DeGeneres, in which DeGeneres revealed that she personally contacted the Academy and recommended that Hart be reinstated as Oscars host. “When did we get to the point where we forgot that we all learn, then we all have the ability to grow and with that growth comes a wealth of knowledge,” Hart wrote. “You can’t change without a [sic] understanding of what GROWTH means… Please grasp this and use it in 2019.” During Hart’s interview on Ellen Friday, DeGeneres had acknowledged the homophobic Twitter jokes that led Hart to step down from hosting the Oscars in December, after he had refused to apologize for the resurfaced posts. But DeGeneres relegated Hart’s critics to the “haters” category, telling him, “That’s a small group of people being very loud. We’re a huge group of people who love you and want to see you host the Oscars.” Hart told DeGeneres that he felt “trolls” were responsible for the “attack on [his] character” that led him to step back from the hosting gig, adding that he doesn’t have a “homophobic bone in [his] body.” Both Hart and DeGeneres quickly became targets of criticism after the interview aired: Hart’s apology was viewed by many as insincere, while others were disappointed in DeGeneres, a member of the LGBT community, for using her platform to support Hart. CNN journalist Don Lemon delivered an emotional message to Hart on Friday’s CNN Tonight broadcast, saying, “This is the time to hear other people out, to understand why they might have been offended. And I don’t see any meaningful outreach to the LGBT community.” Read Hart’s full Instagram message below, then drop a comment with your thoughts. Fans are savaging Ellen DeGeneres after she appealed to their sense of forgiveness in defense of fellow comic Kevin Hart, who was pressured into declining an offer of hosting the Oscars over his decade-old homophobic tweets. DeGeneres, whose on-screen coming-out made television history, offered Hart a chance to explain himself on her show after controversy over his 10-year-old tweets forced him to turn down a chance to host the Academy Awards. After he explained that he’s already apologized, grown up, and evolved since then – “I’m not that guy anymore” – DeGeneres told him that she’s called the Academy to ask for him to be reinstated. Ellen may believe in forgiveness, but her fans certainly don’t. Many were outraged that she had forgiven Hart on their behalf, claiming that she could not speak for the entire LGBT community – and that his apologies had never happened. Unfortunately Mrs Ellen, this ain’t your fight. The harm is done and this man hasn’t learned. He is worried about his pockets being harmed. Not the community he has harmed https://t.co/GdTpweBjDR — George M Johnson (@IamGMJohnson) January 4, 2019 In my house, these words and attitudes manifested themselves at dinner tables, family gatherings, school events, and more. They hurt me so, so much, but confronting the men who made me feel that way and then us moving forward together (in love!) helped all of us heal. — Phillip Picardi (@pfpicardi) January 4, 2019 Others insisted that he hadn’t flagellated himself sufficiently to be forgiven. I feel like if you’re not homophobic anymore, you shouldn’t mind apologizing for your past homophobia again and again and again. I don’t want to hear a hostile retelling of how we didn’t hear your meager apology the first time. — Louis Virtel (@louisvirtel) January 4, 2019 "Don't destroy a man over this" "Ok…the world was different place 10 years ago and I can see how telling a homoph-" "And let him host the oscars" "What?" This is not how forgiveness and atonement work. At all. Understanding the harm takes time. He hasn't done the work. — Felicity (@lissie_w) January 4, 2019 A few people stuck up for Ellen, but they probably weren’t the kind of supporters she and Hart wanted. Never apologize to liberals for facts or jokes that hurt their little feelings. Laugh at them even harder instead. — Mark Dice (@MarkDice) January 5, 2019 Very big of her. — Piers Morgan (@piersmorgan) January 4, 2019 Hart described the focus on his 10-year-old tweets as “a malicious attack on my character,” noting that one would have to scroll through 40,000 tweets during the intervening years to dig them up. Ellen tried to put him at ease, telling him not to listen to “a small group of people being very, very loud.” The only thing @KevinHart4real proved by going on Ellen was that he is a terrible actor with zero genuine remorse who didn’t have the decency to address his ignorance. No, they weren’t “haters” who came after you. It was the LGBTQI+ community because we’re sick to shit of it. — Harry Cook (@HarryCook) January 4, 2019 Meanwhile, Hart is reportedly reconsidering hosting the Oscars. No word on whether the “haters” have forced him to have another change of heart. If you like this story, share it with a friend! In a somewhat surprising turn of events, The Ellen DeGeneres Show will serve as the first stop on the Great Kevin Hart Redemption Tour of 2019. The actor — who stepped down as host of the Academy Awards last month after refusing to apologize for homophobic remarks from his past — will appear on Ellen DeGeneres‘ talk show on Friday for what she calls an “incredible and honest conversation.” DeGeneres broke the news herself Thursday night, tweeting, “I had an incredible and honest conversation with @KevinHart4real about hosting the #Oscars. It was supposed to air on Monday. I don’t want you to have to wait, so now it’s gonna air tomorrow.” The responses to DeGeneres’ announcement were mixed. Some followers commended the host, a married lesbian, for her willingness to shine a light on anti-LGBT behavior, while others questioned the purpose of DeGeneres giving Hart a platform for his redemption. Ellen executive producer Andy Lassner personally brushed off one follower’s catty remark (“Anything for ratings…”), tweeting, “Yeah because that’s why we do things 16 years in.” The 91st Academy Awards, for which a new host has yet to be found, will air Sunday, Feb. 24 on ABC. It clicked for me right away, but I don’t know that it clicked for her until I mentioned it to her. I was just that weird dude who appeared for like two seconds in a scene with her. I don’t know how memorable my role was in that show. To imagine kind of my life and my career and all these other things the way that it’s evolved from me at [that] age — I think I was 19 when I did that — to now is pretty mind-boggling.
What stands out to me is I, basically, got fired from the show while shooting that, which is a slightly longer story than we have time for. But basically, I slept through multiple alarm clocks and showed up to what was not supposed to be my last day of shooting, like, six hours late. So in some ways, it was a miracle that [executive producer] Josh Schwartz ever hired me again to do, ultimately, Hart of Dixie, but maybe he’d forgotten who I was. Certainly, I had not forgotten that, and I carried it with me for some years after the fact, the great shame of that experience. That was my association with The O.C.
My understanding when I got hired for that was that I was supposed to be a recurring character. I had originally tested for the Ryan role on that show, which obviously I didn’t get, and then they kind of kicked me this other role as a scraps-on-the-table kind of thing. But it was supposed to be a recurring role, and then I proved to them I was not up to the task. [Laughs]
Ten years later, I came around. But at that stage in my life, I was a hot mess, so what are you gonna do? [Laughs]
TVLINE | Where do you think Hart of Dixie‘s Wade and Zoe are now?
I’d like to believe they’re happily raising a four-year-old, which is kind of amazing that that much time has passed. Or even five-year-old, maybe? … Hart of Dixie, which was obviously a really pivotal part of my life and my career, it’s been, I think, four or five years now since it ended, and fortunately, I still feel so connected to the people I did that show with and the material itself. But I think the fact that people are still finding that show for the first time and rewatching it, it’s an incredibly special thing, and I still, to this day, have an incredible affection for that show and that character. I give a huge amount of respect [for Hart of Dixie] in terms of where that’s kind of brought me to today.
Yeah, totally. Most of the cast and the creator [Leila Gerstein] recently reunited for [Huntington’s Disease Society of America’s Freeze HD event]. So that was really nice, and word was being kind of bandied about trying to do some kind of redux situation, so we’ll see what happens with that. But certainly, I would love to work with all of them again.

Of course, if Trump had said the homophobic things Kevin Hart tweeted, Ellen would have led the furious unforgiving 'woke' rage against him.

The Academy was blindsided by Hart’s announced departure Thursday night, according to two insiders. The Board of Governors will convene on Tuesday night at a previously-scheduled meeting where the matter will inevitably be discussed.See the rest of the story at Business Insider
