CEO Matthew Prince announced the company’s decision on Saturday after it initially resisted calls to stop protecting the website.

“As Kiwi Farms has felt more threatened, they have reacted by being more threatening,” Prince told The Washington Post. “We think there is an imminent danger, and the pace at which law enforcement is able to respond to those threats we don’t think is fast enough to keep up.” On the company’s blog, Prince said that Cloudflare saw an increase in targeted threats “unlike we have previously seen from Kiwi Farms or any other customer before.”

Kiwi Farms was founded in 2013 by former 8chan administrator Joshua Moon. In the decade since it went online, at least three suicides have been linked to harassment campaigns that originated on the forum. In recent weeks, Kiwi Farms has gained widespread notoriety across both sides of the US political spectrum. After she was the target of multiple swatting attacks that originated on the website, trans Twitch streamer Clara Sorrenti began a campaign to shut down Kiwi Farms. She used the hashtag DropKiwifarms to urge Cloudflare and other critical internet infrastructure providers to stop serving the website.

“There are countless people suffering because of this website,” Sorrenti told The Post on Saturday, moments after police arrived at her home in the wake of another swatting attempt. “Kiwi Farms isn’t about free speech, it’s about hate speech. The majority of the content on the site is threads used for targeted harassment against political targets.”

Separately, Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia called for the forum’s shutdown after a user claiming affiliation with Kiwi Farms sent police to her home. “That website needs to be taken down,” Greene told Newsmax during an interview. “There should be no business or any kind of service where you can target your enemy."

Earlier in the week, it appeared Cloudflare would not take action against Kiwi Farms. The company published a blog post on Wednesday detailing its policies on abusive content. Without directly mentioning the forum, Prince and another executive argued that withholding security services from websites the company and public find reprehensible would ultimately harm oppressed and marginalized voices.

On Saturday, Prince described Cloudflare’s decision to block Kiwi Farms as a “dangerous one that we are not comfortable with.” He told The Post he would have preferred to take action in response to a court order but added it was an easier call than when Cloudflare decided to drop the Daily Stormer and 8chan. As of the writing of this story, Kiwi Farms is still online after moving to DDoS-guard and a Russian domain.

Whitney Cummings has broken her silence on onetime sitcom co-star Chris D’Elia‘s alleged pattern of predatory behavior aimed at young fans and underage girls.

Twitter user Simone Rossi on June 16 shared screenshots of emails she exchanged with D’Elia in July 2014 and January 2015, when she was 16 years old. D’Elia during the exchanges requested a photo of Simone, and also asked if they could hang/”make out” during a stand-up tour stop in Tempe, Ariz.

Other young women have since come forward via multiple forums to share similar stories of being “groomed” and preyed on by the comedian/actor, some while underage at the time.

“I’m devastated and enraged by what I’ve read and learned,” Cummings, who starred opposite D’Elia on her eponymous 2011 NBC sitcom, said Saturday on Twitter. “This is a pattern of predatory behavior. This abuse of power is enabled by silence. Now that I’m aware, I won’t be silent.”

D’Elia, whose TV credits also include Undateable and The Good Doctor, most recently had a role in Season 2 of Netflix’s YOU — as a comedian who is secretly a child molester.

“I still can’t believe Netflix cast Chris D’Elia as the pedophile in Season 2 of YOU. Like, the literal IRONY,” Simone tweeted. “F— you @ChrisDElia and also @Netflix,” she added. “I highly doubt casting this creep as a pedophile was a coincidence.”

Shortly after the accusations from Simone and others surfaced, D’Elia issued a statement to TMZ, saying, “I know I have said and done things that might have offended people during my career, but I have never knowingly pursued any underage women at any point.

“All of my relationships have been both legal and consensual and I have never met or exchanged any inappropriate photos with the people who have tweeted about me,” he added. “That being said, I really am truly sorry. I was a dumb guy who ABSOLUTELY let myself get caught up in my lifestyle. That’s MY fault. I own it. I’ve been reflecting on this for some time now and I promise I will continue to do better.”

Before the close of Survivor Season 39, which CBS acknowledges was “unprecedented” in how “inappropriate individual behavior intersect[ed] with game play,” the network has announced new policies and procedures designed to curb sexual harassment, biases and other social issues.

“We recognize there are things we could have done differently” during Season 39, which saw castaway Dan Spilo historically removed from the competition after multiple alleged instances of inappropriate physical contact with cast and crew, “and we are determined to do better going forward,” the network said in a statement.

For Season 40, which has already filmed, the show added to its pre-production cast orientation specific guidelines regarding personal space, inappropriate behavior, and how to report these issues. For Seasons 41 and beyond, producers are reviewing all elements of the show to further support appropriate interaction, including how the players live during, as well as after they are eliminated from, the competition.

Additional measures being taken to “further support a safe environment” include:

The production will add another on-site professional to provide a confidential means of reporting any concerns, so that the production can address them promptly apart from the game.

The show will enhance its pre-production orientation with new anti-harassment, unconscious bias, and sensitivity training for cast, producers and production crew on location.

A new rule will be implemented stating unwelcome physical contact, sexual harassment and impermissible biases cannot be brought into the competition and will not be permitted as part of gameplay. This will be covered in the cast orientation for each season, along with clear instructions on how to report violations.

The show will partner with a third-party expert in the field to review, evolve or add to these new policies and procedures going forward.

During Survivor’s Nov. 13 episode, castaway Kellee Kim made clear her discomfort with Spilo’s encroaching of her personal space and inappropriate touching. On-site producers were forced to intervene, and give Spilo a formal warning. Spilo on Dec. 11 was removed from the game after a report of another incident, which happened off-camera and did not involve a player. (People reported that the incident in question involved a member of the series’ production team and happened after an immunity challenge, when Spilo and his fellow contestants were getting into a boat to transport them back to the camp.)

Survivor: Island of the Idols‘ Elizabeth Beisel and Missy Byrd have both tendered apologizes for their actions during the reality series’ Nov. 13 installment, where they trumped up sexual harassment allegations against a fellow castaway.

In the double-episode outing, castaway Kellee Kim made clear her discomfort with Dan Spilo’s encroaching of her personal space and inappropriate touching — to a point that on-site producers needed to intervene, and give Dan a formal warning.

Elizabeth and Missy, meanwhile, saw a strategic opportunity to take themselves out of the line of fire come tribal council by embellishing their own unease around Dan, even though Elizabeth made clear it was never an actual issue for her. Worse yet, the two used their claims against Dan to coax castaway Janet to vote against him at tribal council. (In the end, Kellee and Jamal Shipman wound up having their torches snuffed.)

Elizabeth and Missy on Thursday night each tweeted out written apologizes, including to Kellee and Janet specifically, as well as to “women everywhere.” Elizabeth said that she was “deeply ashamed” about her actions, while Missy admitted to “viewing the game through a small lens and with a limited scope.”

Kaillie Humphries is breaking her silence about why she isn't competing in bobsleigh this year.

Speaking exclusively to CBC, Humphries revealed she has filed a harassment complaint with Bobsleigh Canada.

"I found myself in a position where my workplace environment was impaired and I couldn't compete. I filed it before the season and so I can't talk too much about all of the details and how it goes. Currently the investigation is still going on."

Humphries did not reveal what type of harassment she is alleging.

In a statement emailed to CBC Sports, Bobsleigh Canada Skeleton spokesperson Chris Dornan says the organization is aware of the allegations.

"Bobsleigh Canada Skeleton has been made aware of harassment allegations. Bobsleigh Canada Skeleton abides by its harassment and discrimination policy that has been in place since 2006.

"Under that policy, Bobsleigh Canada Skeleton has forwarded the complaint to an independent investigator. We take any allegations of this nature very seriously. A safe training and competitive environment for everyone involved in our sport is Bobsleigh Canada Skeleton's number one priority.

"This is a highly confidential case. Out of respect to all parties involved, and the process, we will not be commenting further on this matter until the investigation is complete."

Stepping away from bobsleigh

At the beginning of October, Humphries took to Twitter, saying she was stepping away from bobsleigh competition for the year. At that time, the three-time Olympic medallist did not provide any details why — she now says it's directly because of the harassment investigation.

"It definitely it took months for me to build up the courage, for me to have that strength, that internal strength to come forward. I'm a strong person," Humphries said.

"But until you've been challenged with this scenario, such as the one that I have found myself in, you never really know how you're going react to it. It took months to build up the courage to be able to talk about it."

This is the first time in Humphries's career she's not competing. She's a two-time Olympic champion and was named the 2014 Lou Marsh Award winner as the top athlete in Canada. She says after every season she takes time to evaluate how the year went. When she started to critically look at last season, she realized something went really wrong.

In an interview with Road to the Olympic Games host Scott Russell, the two-time Olympic women's bobsleigh champion explains why she is taking the year off from competition. 2:40

"I worked very closely with a sports psychologist, somebody who I personally had sought out and who has helped me. I talked to a psychologist every single week [and] we broke down last season," she said.

"I can no longer be silenced because of other people's actions. And I spent all last year doing that without knowing that that's what I was doing. It feels really bad. It feels really wrong. You're not truthful."

'It can happen to anybody'

Humphries says this has been one of the most challenging times in her life, as she continues to train, wondering when she might return to competition at the completion of the investigation. There is no timeline for that to happen at this point. She says she will not return if changes aren't made.

"I will not go back to the same way that it was last year. So if I can build my own team and function independently, still a part of Canada, I will, " she said.  "A lot depends on how the case settles. But I can guarantee you I will not go back to the same way that it was, working with the same people in the same capacity, and open myself up to situations like I faced in the past."

Above all, Humphries says she needed to come forward with this, not only to help rectify her situation, but make it easier for others to come forward as well.

"It can happen to anybody. And that's true. And that was part of my decision for bringing this claim forward," Humphries said. "I'm strong enough to go through this process. I'm strong enough to stand up for what's right."

She's under no illusions about just how big of a step it is to move forward with this harassment case.

"A lot is at stake. For me personally. My entire career is at stake, who I am personally. I'm risking everything to be in this position," she said. "It's not something I take lightly. So yeah, for me personally there's a lot at stake."

In what appears to be the first intentional use of drones to disrupt civil aviation, continued sightings of two remotely piloted aircraft flying over and around the airfield at London’s Gatwick Airport starting the evening of December 19 have forced the airport to remain closed to flights for over a day. In a letter posted to Gatwick’s website, Gatwick Airport’s CEO called the continued drone activity “a highly targeted activity which has been designed to close the airport and bring maximum disruption in the run up to Christmas.” He also said the airport is cooperating with law enforcement to end the “criminal activity.”

As of 7:00pm London time on Thursday, Gatwick’s runway was still unavailable for takeoffs and landings “because of continued drone sightings,” the airport announced, and some airlines have cancelled all flights until further notice. “We apologize to all of our passengers who are impacted today, but the safety of our passengers and all staff is our priority,” an airport spokesperson said.

Drone sightings have been a safety concern around London’s airports for some time. In 2016, a British Airways flight landing at London’s Heathrow Airport apparently struck a drone while on approach for landing. Earlier that year, the United Kingdom’s Airprox air safety board issued an incident report on a near-miss in which a quadcopter drone passed within 20 feet of a landing Airbus A319 at Heathrow. And just a month ago, a drone came within 32 feet of a commuter aircraft landing at Edinburgh Airport. In the US, there have been hundreds of such incidents reported in recent years.

Eliza Dushku has written an op-ed for The Boston Globe in which she goes into detail about the sexual harassment she faced from actor Michael Weatherly during her time on the set of the CBS series “Bull.” The New York Times reported last week that Dushku received $ 9.5 million to settle a sexual harassment complaint, and the actress said she declined to give a statement to The Times because she “wanted to honor the terms of [the] settlement with the network.”

Dushku was under the impression neither Weatherly or “Bull” writer-producer Glenn Gordon Caron would give statements to The Times. Weathlery ended up apologizing to Dushku in a statement, saying he “made some jokes mocking some lines in the script” and stopped after the actress told him she wasn’t comfortable. In her op-ed for The Globe, Dushku said that was not the case.

By airing allegations of sexual misconduct with the New York Times on Sunday night, the Australian-born actor Yael Stone faces both the challenge of confronting the most powerful man in Australian theatre, but also running the gauntlet of Australia’s upside down libel laws.  

A young Australian stage actor who had informally made a complaint late last year with the Sydney Theatre Company over Rush’s alleged “inappropriate behaviour,” has found this out to her own detriment, being called as the star witness in a defamation case derived from her own complaint to the theatre that employed both her and Rush.
