The Ryanair passenger was travelling from Ibiza to Madrid when he spotted the incident.

Footage posted on Spanish paper Diario de Ibiza captured the man opening a case on the luggage trolley that was waiting to be put on the flight.

He was then spotted taking a red speaker out and putting it in his pocket.

The person filming alerted a member of the cabin crew who contacted the police.

The baggage handler was then ordered to return the item to the rightful owner.

He is currently being investigated, having only worked for the airport for three days. He was not employed by Ryanair.

It is thought that he is no longer working for the airport.

The luggage that was opened was thought to have belonged to a young boy who was travelling on the flight after visiting his brother who lives in Ibiza.

His mother told the Spanish newspaper, following the return of the item: “I was very grateful because I had bought it for my son’s birthday and it cost about 140 euros”.

The flight then left two and a half hours later following the delay.

It isn’t the first time baggage handlers have been caught on camera treating luggage in a less than careful manner.

A passenger captured one worker at Manchester Airport throwing bags onto the baggage carousel carelessly.

A similar incident caught a woman working at Honolulu Airport in Hawaii hurling bags from the plane to a chute without much care.

Many were spotted bouncing off the chute and almost falling to the ground.

Both incidents were investigated at the time, according to the airports.

In Japan, however, baggage handlers have been spotted treating bags very differently at the airport.

A Japanese baggage handler was filmed carefully organising and cleaning suitcases as they were moved on a conveyor belt.

The young woman wearing gloves and wielding a cloth even polished some of them as they left the plane dirty.

Another man was caught on camera carefully placing suitcases on a truck when removing them from a plane.

A viral video has captured the moment a baggage handler risks damaging luggage from a plane.

In the video, filmed at Honolulu Airport, the woman is seen grabbing bags and hurling them down the chute from the plane.

They bounce down at speed thanks to being thrown onto it carelessly.

It happens a few times with thankfully no bags appearing to be damaged, although the contents are unknown.

The woman filming was shocked to see the way they were being handled after boarding a different plane at the airport.

Vanessa Marsh, a Courier-Mail reporter, filmed the incident as she boarded a plane to Phoenix.

She tweeted: “The mystery of all my broken suitcases is solved — this is the ground crew at Honolulu loading up a @HawaiianAir flight to Phoenix.”

The video has since been viewed over 28,000 times, with many shocked also. Hawaiian Air, the airline affected, commented on the problem.

They tweeted Ms Marsh: “Aloha Vanessa, we’re very sorry to see this and appreciate you bringing it to our attention.

“The way these bags were handled is not acceptable and our Airport Operations Management team is addressing this situation. Thank you.”

Express.co.uk has contacted the airline for comment regarding the baggage handler’s actions.

One Twitter user wrote: “As I was scrolling my feed I was thinking about putting my MacBook in my checked bag this afternoon… then I saw this.”

Another user had also had a bad experience: “And this is why my $ 900 suitcase has had the wheels replaced twice after coming off the baggage carousels.

“It has one of the highest durability ratings but can only take so much rough stuff.

Others defended the airline, stating: “That’s actually not that bad. This is one of the best airlines in the world.”

It isn’t the first instance of baggage handlers being caught out damaging suitcases.

A Thomas Cook baggage handler was caught throwing suitcases onto a plane whilst in Gatwick.

The same problem happened in Ibiza Airport when luggage  was thrown into the air.

Japan had a much different way of dealing with the bags.

A baggage handler can be seen polishing and cleaning them as they came out on the conveyor belt.

A viral video has captured the moment a number of suitcases are removed from a plane at an airport in japan.

Whilst the airport destination remains unknown, a female baggage handler is tasked with sorting them out.

The suitcases leave the carousel and are put onto the moving conveyor belt.

She can then be seen polishing the bags with a cloth and checking them for marks.

She also makes sure they are safely on the conveyor belt after they have been cleaned by adjusting them.

Many have commented online about their own experience travelling in Japan.

One wrote on Facebook: “I went to Japan in January and was amazed when the tiny little women on the check-in desk for an internal flight tried to take my large snowboard bag around to the oversize baggage desk, then when I insisted on taking it myself one of them ran ahead to show me the way.”

Another remarked: “She’s probably wiping the condensation off of the plastic cases (she skips some of the others).”

Some rather cynical users thought it was for a much more nefarious reason.

One wrote: “Wiping of fthe finger prints.”

It is a stark difference compared to how they are handled in the UK, following a shocking video from last year that emerged.

A video filmed at Luton Airport showed baggage handlers throwing luggage violently onto a car.

It sparked outrage as the luggage was also seen being kicked and dropped onto the tarmac.

The airport then released a statement, commenting: ““We are working with the ground handling company responsible who have confirmed that an investigation is underway and that they will take any necessary action to prevent such behaviour happening again.”

An EasyJet spokesperson added: “We have been assured by our provider that this is being investigated.”

How can passengers ensure they get their suitcase back first when it being unloaded?

An online hack revealed how to avoid getting a piece of luggage thrown about when being transported as well as getting it back first.

Forum user Raqhav wrote that a fragile sticker has two benefits.

He wrote: “A fragile tag is meant to be put on luggage which are to be handled carefully: items made of glass, pottery, ceramic or any other easily breakable item.

“The guys transporting your luggage will take extra care so as to not break your item. Most often the fragile tagged luggage come on to the belt first.”

Chelsea Handler just announced on Facebook that she will not be returning for another season of Chelsea, her weekly Netflix talk show.

Handler said she is planning to focus on activism, write a book and partner with Netflix on an original documentary that highlights her perspective on the current political climate.

Chelsea marked Netflix’s foray into the comedy talk show arena.

New half-hour episodes were released three times a week in Season 1 before Handler switched to an hourlong weekly show format in the current second season. The show developed a following as Handler’s fans found her on the new platform, though it had a hard time breaking out in a very crowded comedy talk show space.

Under Handler’s rich deal with Netflix, Handler also did the Chelsea Does documentary series, which was well received.

“Like so many across the country, the past presidential election and the countless events that have unfolded since have galvanized me,” Handler wrote. “From the national level down to the grassroots, it’s clear our decisions at the ballot box next year will mark a defining moment for our nation.

“For these reasons, I’ve decided not to return for another season of Chelsea, and instead devote as much time as I can to becoming a more knowledgeable and engaged citizen and to focus on projects that have significance to me. My goal is to be better informed, raise my voice, and participate in a more meaningful way. I want to travel the country and visit areas and people I don’t know enough about, speak at colleges and listen to students, and gain a better understanding of our political divide. I have joined forces with EMILY’s List to elect more women to public office, register people to vote, and campaign for candidates who are fighting for women’s rights.

“I’m excited to share that I will continue my partnership with Netflix, working together on a documentary where I’ll engage with people I don’t talk with enough – people of different ethnicities, religions and political philosophies. Netflix could not be more understanding, and I’m grateful for their continued support. New episodes of Chelsea will continue to stream weekly until the end of this year.”

Additional details on her upcoming original Netflix documentary will be announced at a later date.

Shannon Peppiatt flew from London Gatwick to Dalaman in Turkey with Thomas Cook. 

She said her luggage was ‘severely damaged’ when she arrived at her destination. 

Shannon claims the incident angered her enough to switch airlines for her return flight home. 

She said she chose to fly back with easyJet, who she currently works for as a member of cabin crew. 

At Dalaman airport before her return flight, Shannon captured this video of a baggage handler throwing luggage into the hold. 

The footage showed the man standing at the entrance, tossing large suitcases from one side to the next. 

Shannon posted the video on Twitter, writing: “I guess this explains why my suitcase was severely damaged! Your baggage handlers clearly have no respect!! @ThomasCookUK #thomascook”.

But Thomas Cook said it has no record of Shannon travelling with the airline to Dalaman, nor any claim made for damaged luggage.

The travel company has been trying to get in touch with the passenger to solve the issue, but to no avail. 

The ground staff were seen raising bags above their heads and sending them crashing onto the conveyor as they unloaded a Virgin Atlantic flight.

In a video filmed by horrified passenger Matthew Campbell, cases were seen bouncing up and down as they were slammed onto the luggage belt.

The baggage handlers at Orlando International Airport in Florida, US, were fired after bosses saw the footage.

The footage was filmed on July 27. Matthew, 19, of Croydon, Surrey, was on board a BA flight waiting to fly back to the UK when he spotted the workers on the concourse.
