This has posed further challenges for the team: “Of course, it’s a lot easier if you’re face-to-face with somebody in the auction to go up to them afterwards and say, ‘Do you mind being on Homes Under the Hammer?’
“And then they’re likely to say, ‘Well, I don’t know, what’s it like?’ And then you’ve got a team from the production house, who will be able to explain.
“If it’s the auctioneer, who’s having to say, ‘Would you mind being a Home Under the Hammer? I think if they said, ‘No’, that would probably be it.”
Homes Under the Hammer airs weekdays on BBC One at 10am.

Homes Under the Hammer 2019 is back for its 16th year on BBC One. The show first aired in 2003 and there have been more than 1,200 episodes of the property show. Homes Under The Hammer follows members of the public who purchase properties at an auction, many of which often require refurbishment. Who hosts Homes Under the Hammer?
This year, there are three hosts of Homes Under the Hammer on BBC One.
Martin Roberts has hosted the show since it first aired in 2003 and is back for another year of presenting duties.
Dion Dublin joined the line up in 2015 and is back for the 21st season of Homes Under the Hammer.
This year there is a brand new addition to the presenting line-up, with Martel Maxwell joining the program to replace Homes Under the Hammer veteran host Lucy Alexander.
Lucy Alexander left the show last year, after officially announcing she would be stepping down in July 2016 to pursue other opportunities.
However, she exclusively told Express.co.uk that making a comeback on the show isn’t out of the question.
When asked whether she would go back to the show, Lucy replied: “I would never say never.
“Let’s see what happens in the future. I would be lying if I said I didn’t miss it. It was a lot of hard work for a lot of years.”
Here’s everything you need to know about the current hosts of Homes Under the Hammer.
Martin Roberts

Roberts has also appeared in many television series including Celebrity Masterchef and I’m A Celebrity…Get me Out of Here! in 2016, coming in sixth place.
Dion Dublin

In his football career, he was capped four times for England and played for Manchester United, Coventry City, Millwall, Aston Villa, Leicester City and Celtic.
Dublin retired from his football career in 2008 and joined Homes Under the Hammer in 2015.

Dan McGolphin, BBC controller of Programming and Daytime said: “Martel is an experienced broadcaster with an infectious enthusiasm for improving Britain’s homes, she is the perfect addition to the Homes Under The Hammer presenting team.”

AUSTRALIA endured a nightmare in Abu Dhabi on the second day of the second Test at the hands of Pakistan.
The batsmen once again failed to deliver as the Pakistanis attacked ripped through the order with ease, before Pakistan took to the crease and showed the deck was made for plenty of runs as they ran up their lead.
Australia 145
Pakistan 282 & 2/144 (Azhar 54, Sohail 17)
12.05am
Legends hammer dismal Aussies
Nathan Lyon’s strong words after the opening day’s play clearly fell on deaf ears as the Aussies capitulated in a horror display.
The Aussies entered day two of the second Test already two down after losing Usman Khawaja and Peter Siddle in the final seven overs of day one.
It didn’t take long for things to go from bad to worse, however, as Pakistan quick Mohammad Abbas dismantled the batting attack.
Abbas took the first two wickets of the day, giving him the first four of the innings and putting the Aussies in a tenuous position.
Mohammad Abbas has 54 wickets in 10 Tests. No other fast bowler from Pakistan took this many wickets in his first 10 Tests. Abbas still has an inns to go. #PakvAus
The collapse wasn’t over with, as Mitch Marsh, Aaron Finch and Tim Paine all followed suit shortly after and left the scoreboard in a bleak state.
Marnus Labuschagne and Mitch Starc saved the innings from being a complete humiliation with some late heroics, but the capitulation saw Australia’s innings come to an end still 137 runs shy of the first innings score set by Pakistan.
The sad display from the Aussies opened the door for a severe backlash and two legends in Mike Hussey and Shane Warne raised serious questions.
“Once you start getting into your 30s, mid-30s, you can’t afford to have a run like that, because everyone starts talking about your position in the team, is that the end of your career, and that extra pressure builds up on you as well,” Hussey said on Wisden radio.
“In reality, at the end of the day, you do need to be scoring runs. There’s going to be a lot of discussion about his place in the team.”
Then, just like he did in the first Test, Shane Warne hit out and believed only two of the currently team were worthy of keeping their place in the batting line-up.
Australia’s bowling quality has saved this Oz side for a while now, but how long can they keep doing it ? These current batsman need to stand up & quickly or it will be a v long summer, Finch/Khawaja been good and will start in the 1st test in Oz – the rest ??? @FOXCricketLive
Ps Bowlers will get injured if they have to continue to bowl day after day without rest, due to the batsman continue to fail. Also, I’m a huge fan of Mitch Marsh & his capabilities but appointed VC & batting so high?Paine has to bat in top 6 & why has Lyon not been appointed VC?
Pakistan then rubbed salt in the Australian wounds with their second innings as they showed that the wicket was indeed batter friendly.
Debutant Fakhar Zaman carried on where he left off in the first innings as he raced to his half century. His innings came to an end on 66, but his name enters the record books as he becomes the first Pakistani player to record back-to-back half centuries on debut.
Twin fifties for Fakhar Zaman in his debut Test – first Pakistani to achieve this feat. Can he convert it into a hundred? #PAKvAUSpic.twitter.com/vqKyyMwmzh
Azhar Ali entered in the fourth over and he followed in Zaman’s footsteps as he recorded a well-earned half century before the day wrapped up.
After two days of play the Aussies are in a nightmare position as they currently trail by 276 runs with Pakistan still having eight wickets in hand.
Australia took their foot off the throat of Pakistan on day one and ever since they’ve been made to pay dearly. It’ll take a monumental turnaround if they’re to save the series from here.
Nathan Lyon removed the record maker for Pakistan in remarkable circumstances.
A routine delivery from Lyon was blasted straight back at him and his unbelievable reflexes saw him not only get out of the way, but get his hands up and reel in the catch.
The powerful shot was perfectly summed up by the commentary team: “Catch it or you’re dead”.
Nathan Lyon has some crazy impressive highlights when it comes to caught & bowled!
Marnus Labuschagne is on his way back to the sheds after a horror runout caught him with his bat in the air.
A deflection from Yasir Shah saw the ball clatter into the stumps and while Labuschagne’s bat was behind the crease it was not on the ground and he was sent on his way.
Amazing scenes. Labuschagne out after a deflection from Yasir from a Starc straight drive. Bat behind the crease but in the air. That’s a sickener for Aust #PakvAus
Right on the brink of the lunch break, disaster struck the Aussies with skipper Tim Paine trapped on the crease and out via LBW.
The ball from Yasir Shah got the better of Paine who opted to review the decision and although the ball looked like it may have potentially gone close to missing leg stump, the decision was to stick with the umpires call.
Australia now head into the middle session of day two with only debutant Marnus Labuschagne left to partner with the bowling attack.
Bowlers do the job again but huge questions remain on our batsmen as a unit, it’s shaping as another test of character, Pakistan’s bowlers been impressive @TheRealPCB@CricketAust#PakvAus 🏏
Shaun Marsh batted like a man possessed during the Ashes series and left so many people with egg on their faces.
Ever since then however, those who had their doubts have been justified in their concerns over Marsh.
In his 11 innings since making a blistering century in Sydney, Marsh has an average of 14.27 runs. It might be time for the blowtorch to be applied to the selectors who continue to insert him into the squad.
Another low score for Shaun Marsh, nipped out by Abbas for 3, Aust 3-36 #PakvAus

Only those who are worthy can lift Mjolnir, Thor’s hammer.
Of course Captain America made it wobble a little in Marvel‘s Avengers: Age of Ultron, but there was someone else who managed to as well.
Once Vision was born he managed to lift the Asgardian weapon, much to Thor’s annoyance.

North Korean leader Kim Jong-un has held a surprise closed-door meeting with his South Korean counterpart over the cancelled summit with US President Donald Trump.
The meeting is the second of its kind in two months, with the pair sitting down at a location near the demilitarized zone on the Korean peninsula
According to Reuters, this latest discussion centered on the on-off summit that was sensationally scrapped by Donald Trump, who cited “tremendous anger and open hostility” displayed by North Korea’s government after they took umbrage at a comment by US Vice-President Mike Pence.
During a Fox News interview, Pence suggested that the country could become like Libya if it does not disarm its nuclear weapons. When asked if that was a threat, Pence said it was “more of a fact.”
The ‘peace’ summit had been billed as an opportunity to encourage denuclearization in the region, as well as a chance to bring North Korea in from the political wilderness.
Saturday’s meeting between the leaders of North and South Korea marks a recent and gradual thaw in relations, which have been almost caustic since the Korean peninsula was divided in 1945. It comes after Trump appeared to raise hope that the cancelled plans for a summit in Singapore on June 12 could be pulled from the fire.
“We are having very productive talks with North Korea about reinstating the summit which if it does happen, will likely remain in Singapore on the same date, June 12th,” the US president tweeted on Saturday.
We are having very productive talks with North Korea about reinstating the Summit which, if it does happen, will likely remain in Singapore on the same date, June 12th., and, if necessary, will be extended beyond that date.

In the wake of US-led airstrikes against Syria following an alleged chemical weapons attack in Douma, many of US President Donald Trump’s most ardent supporters have vehemently criticized the action.
Conservative writers, bloggers and newscasters that have long stood by Trump are abandoning the president in the wake of his latest intervention in Syria for breaking one of his main campaign promises: to refrain from meddling in the Middle East. Many have even retweeted several of Trump’s own criticisms of past administrations’ actions in the Middle East as a reminder of just how galling these latest strikes are to many in his support base.
The President must get Congressional approval before attacking Syria-big mistake if he does not!
While many of his supporters voiced their criticism of Trump’s ‘one-and-done’ strike against a Syrian airfield in April 2017, others saw it as a token gesture to appease the international community in the wake of an alleged chemical weapons attack carried out by pro-Assad forces. US Defense Secretary Jim Mattis admitted in early February that the US had yet to find evidence to justify the 2017 cruise missile strikes.
Conservative firebrand and Fox News host Tomi Lahren, a vocal supporter of Trump since his election, decried the return to US foreign intervention that became the hallmark of both the Bush and Obama presidencies.
Americans should not die fighting a war that’s NOT OURS TO FIGHT. #syria
Holy motherfucking shit. McCain and the swamp media agreeing with Trump… now Lieu agreeing with Alex Jones? Did those missiles launch us into some kind of alternate reality? https://t.co/oAQJAh4LRj
— Cassandra NoWar Fairbanks (@CassandraRules) April 14, 2018
Lahren’s Fox News counterpart and equally outspoken political commentator Laura Ingraham suggested that the US “should rethink how we deploy our forces Middle East.”
“It is interesting, the president’s elected over a year ago, he ran on being a non-interventionist… And that’s one of the reasons Trump won this election. Because unlike the Bushes and unlike Romney and Rubio, Trump came out and said, ‘You know something? It was a mistake, and we should rethink how we deploy our forces Middle East.’ And I think, obviously a lot of people, a majority of people, agree with that.”
Outspoken political commentator Alex Jones appeared distraught while presenting news of the strikes to his audience during a marathon broadcast on the subject. And Jones was far from alone in resorting to swearing to emphasize distaste for a foreign policy more akin to Trump’s former presidential campaign rivals than the promises he himself made in 2016.
U.S. air strikes
Bomb Damascus
Now ISIS soldiers are moving in and killing Christians.
One of the last sanctuaries for Christians in the Middle East now bombed by a supposedly-Christian nation – which also sells immense high-tech weaponry to Islamic Saudi theocrats.
Others warned that the US had endangered Christian populations in Syria. In addition, several formerly ardent Trump supporters added that the actions could also embolden beleaguered Islamic State militants, who have been pushed to the brink of defeat across both Syria and Iraq.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. Our track record of intervening in Syria and the Middle East is terrible.
Even Trump’s foreign allies and supporters have excoriated the US president’s decision to strike the Syrian military and further escalate tensions in the region just days after Trump stated that a withdrawal of US troops was imminent. Most notable among them was former UKIP leader Nigel Farage.
First of all, you’re not an American. Second of all, America didn’t elect Trump to meet your narrow agenda but to lead with boldness, instinct and intuition.
Most of all, we didn’t elect him to ask YOUR permission before he acts. https://t.co/uxStSGZYxV
However, not everyone has abandoned Trump. His more fervent supporters have claimed that the US fulfils a role that no other nation can, while others have attacked his critics, advocating for the unilateral action even in the absence of congressional approval.

The statue is the last remaining piece created by the West Coast artist collective INDECLINE. Titled ‘The Emperor Has No Balls,’ the statues were first erected in New York, San Francisco, and other US cities shortly before Trump was elected president in 2016. They were swiftly removed by local authorities.

The statues were crafted using clay and silicone, and portray Trump with a pot belly, a drooping bottom, varicose veins, and a tiny penis with no testicles.
If this sounds like the ideal centerpiece to adorn your living room, you’d better be prepared to flash… the cash. Julien’s Auctions estimates that the statue will sell for between $ 20,000 and $ 30,000.
One of the statues sold at auction for $ 22,000 in 2016.
The auction will take place on May 2 in Jersey City, New Jersey.

The Danish government has announced plans to double penalties for certain crimes committed in so-called ‘ghetto’ areas. These districts are characterized by a higher than average immigrant population.
Justice Minister, and Danish Conservative Party leader, Soren Pape Poulsen told Danish daily Berlingske that “vandalism, theft or threats could be the reason (for double penalties). That means the hammer will fall extra hard in those areas.”
Poulsen added that it would be at the discretion of local police to decide which offenses received double punishment.
The plan is part of a national strategy to eliminate deprived ghetto areas by the year 2030. According to the government there are 22 “ghettos” in Denmark. In order to be classed as such, an area must meet one of five criteria; that the population is more than 50 percent non-western immigrant, more than 2.7 percent have a criminal conviction, unemployment is above 40 percent, over 50 percent have only a basic education and where the average gross income is less than 55 percent of the regional average.
The justice minister’s comments come in the same month as he announced plans to to fine people for covering their face in public, seen as a ban on the wearing of various Muslim garments such as the burqa and the niqab.
Announcing the ban, Poulsen said that covering one’s face was “incompatible with the values of the Danish society,” and that: “With a ban, we draw a line in the sand and establish that here in Denmark we show each other trust and respect by meeting each other face to face.”

Overview: As manufacturers introduce more and more SUVs and crossovers into the marketplace, it’s becoming increasingly difficult for them to stand out. Some companies have attempted bold, polarizing exteriors, while others have dropped entries into previously unpopulated segments such as SUV “coupes” and the like, and many hope to attract buyers with advanced propulsion and technology solutions. But for the Volvo XC90, there’s no trick formula. The Swedes simply executed a traditional blueprint to its fullest potential. READ MORE ››
