The previews leading up to this Monday night’s installment of The Bachelor certainly made it seem like Matt James planned to get rid of the show’s bad apples.

After watching Matt choose Season 25 villain, Victoria, over much nicer contestants week after week, it felt like all of her slights, verbal jabs and lies would never catch up with her. But they finally did. Victoria is finally gone. But first, Matt came in and let the women know what was on his mind.

“If you have to belittle someone else for you to shine, then those aren’t the qualities I’m looking for in my wife,” Matt announced in a very serious but nervous way, before taking aside Brittany, 23. After all, she was the one who Anna, 24, accused of being an escort in their hometown of Chicago.

Brittany talked to Matt about how the rumor made her feel, and even cried. She said the rumor could change the way her mother looked at her while watching at home. (Sigh. Really? But you said you’re not a sex worker so why would your mother be ashamed? This feels like such an antiquated concern for something that isn’t true. But maybe that’s our inner Twitter talking.)

Matt confronted Anna for what she did and though he heard her out, in the end he sent her packing. She cried and said she felt disappointed in herself, but it came across like an act. She and Matt never even kissed on camera and appeared to have little to no chemistry. Next!

Soon after kicking out Anna, Matt asked Ryan, 26, a choreographer from Brooklyn, how she felt about being on The Bachelor — and she said Victoria called her a ho. She too began to cry. Man, for a show where people swap spit and make out in every kind of hot tub ever invented, these women sure worry a lot about their perceived virtue.

Bachelor VictoriaMatt then took aside Victoria, the self-proclaimed Queen, and questioned her about calling Ryan disparaging names. When she contended the insult was taken out of context, Matt intelligently asked in what context being called a “ho” is a good thing. Victoria fumed and acted all wounded, and yelled at the producers that she was insulted and hurt. Meanwhile, all of the other women laughed at her behind her back. She has no friends in this bunch.

And then bam, Matt handed out the roses and Victoria didn’t get one. Yay! Goodbye, Victoria! The only downside — and this seems like an odd thing to say considering how dreadful Victoria behaved — is that Season 25 will be a lot less funny without Victoria’s catty quips. There, we said. It’s not something to be proud of, but it’s true.

The other negative is that Matt didn’t give a rose to Lauren, 29, a corporate attorney from Miami, nor Mari, 24, the former beauty queen from Maryland. And both women deserved roses, more screen time and most of all, Matt’s consideration.

Bachelor RAchaelMATT’S BEST MOMENT | Matt’s one-on-one date with Rachael, 24, a graphic designer from Georgia, brimmed with romance and fun. The pair went shopping with the help of a stylist and Rachael walked away with some stunning designer dresses and a pair of red bottoms, aka Christian Louboutins. Um, wow! Matt and Rachael also clearly dig each other, and their chemistry is off the charts. Take note, Rachael is a frontrunner. The other frontrunner? Michelle, 27, the teacher from Minnesota. She’s the only one Matt kisses with his eyes closed.

MATT’S WORST MOMENT | Hmm, Matt’s choice to play around with MJ, 23, on the group date, only to leave her to run and make out with Pieper, 23, felt all kinds of wrong. Not that he has that kind of chemistry with MJ, and judging from his confrontation with her about her antagonism in the house, she’s probably going to be ousted. But still, respect these women’s feelings, Matt. It’s only fair.

THIS WEEK’S TRAIN-WRECK MOMENT | This distinction definitely goes to Victoria, who on her way out the door vowed to never date another man named Matt.  This is why her histrionics will be missed. Who even talks like this?

BACHELORETTE STOCK FALLING! | Sadly, Katie seems to be placing herself firmly in the friend zone. She’s been Matt’s confidante, telling him what’s going in the house and who the bullies are. But dude still isn’t kissing her. Maybe Katie, 29, will become the next Bachelorette. Shrug.

Are you admittedly said to see the Queen dethroned?

Arrow‘s final fall finale landed Oliver back on Lian Yu, ostensibly to build a weapon — but perhaps more importantly to get his affairs in order.

Emerging from the tent with Laurel, Oliver learns that Diggle and the 2040 crew were grabbed by ARGUS agents and hauled to Lian Yu as well. Lyla shows up to apologize for the rough ride, then report that Mar Novu wants them to build a weapon using the dwarf star particles, plutonium, and the designs of Dr. Wong. Lyla affirms that “there is no stopping Crisis,” but this weapon might help them survive it. Lyla’s words set up an awkward conversation for Oliver, who must loop in the kids to his grim fate — that it is his job to save the multiverse (and die in doing so), and “that’s the way it has to be.”

Dig grabs a private moment with his wife, confronting Lyla about the massive secret she has kept for so long. She explains, “We couldn’t risk interfering with the journeys of the other players” by revealing the truth. She then shares that Mar Novu claims to have rescued her the day that IED killed her entire team in Afghanistan, because she has a “greater purpose” — to find heroes strong enough to survive Crisis.

The small plane carrying Dinah (aka its pilot!), Rene and Roy gets shot down by a missile. Diggle, Connor and Lyla work the rescue mission, while Oliver and Laurel chase after the plutonium they were delivering. Connor and his “mom” bond some, as he assures Lyla that she and Diggle were there for their sons “when it counted,” and he fancies himself the proud son of the founders of Nighwatch. (Oops, futureslip!) Laurel meanwhile is advising Oliver not to leave Lian Yu with more regrets than he already buried there, by boxing out his kids, when Fyers shows up (alive!) and Wintergreen (also alive!) grabs Laurel. A fight ensues, and though Oliver and Laurel take out most if the goons, Fyers slips away. Chasing after Fyers, Oliver runs into Yao Fei (again, alive — due to odd “energy spikes” Lian Yu has been having). Yao Fei suggests that there are forces at play who do not want Oliver to success in using his weapon.

After finding Dinah and an injured Rene, Dig and Connor come across Roy, who has been pinned down by a piece of landing gear that just won’t budge. With Fyers’ men closing in, there is some debate about freeing Roy via amputation, which he selflessly signs off on — and which Connor executes with a swift blade. Oliver and Yao Fei meanwhile get caught up in a net trap, during which the former admits that as resolved as he is to die, he can’t bring himself to leave the two kids who lived so much of their lives without him. To that, Yao Fei advises Oliver to make the most of the little time they have left — before he casually frees the two of them using a magnifying glass on the rope above.

Back at the tent, Diggle apologizes to Roy, for coming to find him in Hub City in the first place. But one-armed Roy insists that he would he’d rather be with the team than living alone. Besides, heroes make sacrifices. And sometimes that comes in the form of an arm!

With everyone back at the camp, it is determined that the weapon they built for Mar Novu might also in fact eliminate the undead Fyers et al, if activated. Team Arrow XL suits up to confront Fyers and his small army, buying William some time to complete the weapon. Yet once it is finished, it wont turn on; it requires a specific DNA key, which they assume is Oliver’s. But it is not. It is Lyla’s. And activate it she does, after which the “ghosts” vanish… and Lyla is cued to step into one of Mar Novu’s portals:

“I have to  go….”

Later, while waiting for the boat taking them back home, Oliver asks Diggle for favor — to make sure that the kids get back home to 2040, and Diggle agrees. Oliver also asks Diggle to track down Felicity and relay the message that he doesn’t want Mia and William separated, but to grow up with each other. Lastly, turning to their brotherhood, Oliver avows, “I couldn’t have done any of this without you,” his “rock” (and “the best man you’ve ever known,” Dig adds). 

Oliver makes one last stop before leaving Lian Yu, at the grave site, where he is approached by Mia. Emotional, she talks of how all her life she heard legendary stories about the Green Arrow and his team, yet all she saw was the reason why she grew up without her dad — and it has been hard to let go of that bitterness. When Mia remarks that Oliver must hate Lian Yu, he counters that were in not for his time on this island, there wouldn’t be Green Arrow stories to tell — and he wouldn’t be standing here looking at his remarkable daughter. “Something tells me you’ll write your own stories…,” he tells Mia, not-so-subtly teeing up the potential Arrow spinoff.

Just then, the sky rumbles and Lyla materializes — as a Harbinger of things to come, now that “the Crisis has begun!”

The Stay With Me hit-maker credits his new super trim figure to nutritional therapist Amelia Freer, whose other celebrity clients include James Corden. 

The food expert’s book Eat. Nourish. Glow. became an overnight bestseller following Sam’s high praise. 

In April 2015 he revealed he’d lost a whopping three stone – including one stone in just two weeks. 

Posting on Instagram at the time, he wrote: “Amelia Freer has helped me lose over a stone in two weeks and has completely transformed my relationship with food. 

“Everyone go check out her incredible book, and start to live healthy. 

“It’s not even about weight loss it’s about feeling happy in yourself. 

“Love you Amelia & thank you for making me feel so happy inside and out.” 

So what advice did Sam follow to have the weight drop off him so fast?

Cutting gluten, dairy and refined sugar out of his diet completely, alongside weight training, were key for Sam shedding the pounds. 

He also took up yoga and his diet included herb infused ice cubes to snack on. 

Speaking to CBS, Sam revealed: “I love food so it’s a constant battle. It’s always going to be a battle but I’m trying my best.

“I’ve just not eaten like a pig anymore – that’s what I’m doing, basically.”

Amelia’s tips include: “Eat as though you are having dinner with your future parents-in-law” and “If you have time for Facebook, you have time for exercise”. 

Lorraine Kelly is revealing more of the secrets to her weight loss success as she launches her second fitness DVD. 

The Scottish TV presenter has undergone a significant body transformation over the last few years, and she credits her trim and toned physique to fitness trainer Maxine Jones and a new found love of dance aerobics. 

Before her fitness journey began, Lorraine had struggled to find a form of exercise she enjoyed. But after a friend dragged her to a dance aerobics class while on holiday, Lorraine discovered a new passion for working out.
