Ivanka Trump, 36, attended her father Donald Trump’s speech about federal regulations in the Roosevelt Room at the White House today.

However, Ivanka’s husband Jared Kushner and Donald’s wife Melania Trump were nowhere to be seen.

For the occasion, Ivanka – a beautiful blonde – made yet another bad fashion decision, choosing a floor length frumpy black get up instead of a more glamorous outfit.

The top had a high sweetheart neckline and flared-out batwing sleeves which did nothing to flatter Ivanka’s slim figure.

It was paired with black trousers which were high waisted and nipped in at Ivanka’s waist, but looked uncomfortably tight.

The trousers appeared as if the length was too long for Ivanka, coming right down to the carpet and hiding her feet.

At 5”11, Ivanka already towers above the rest of the group, and her black long outfit gives the illusion of making Ivanka look never ending rather than flattering her height.

She paired the look with her characteristic blonde shoulder length hair, softly curled at the ends to give a doll like appearance.

She wore minimal makeup – just mascara, foundation and nude lipstick – and wore pearl dangly earrings in her ears.

Standing with her hands clasped together, Ivanka looked somewhat bored as she listening to the official speech.

However, she maintained a composed appearance throughout, with perfect posture and not a hair out of place.

Ivanka Trump wore a frumpy dress recently during a summit in Hyderabad, India, suggesting her fashion faux pas today is part of a pattern.

Speaking during a panel discussion at the Global Entrepreneurship Summit in the Hyderabad convention she wore an unflattering red lace dress with odd black pointed mules.

The dress was poppy red in colour and featured red lace on the top with a black lace trim at the sleeves.

The skirt of the dress was scattered with a white floral pattern, which added to the overly busy nature of the outfit.

Ivanka Trump, 36, attended a Hanukkah Reception in the East Room of the White House last night.

Also in attendance were First Lady Melania Trump, President Donald Trump, and Ivanka’s husband, Jared Kushner.

The proud parents looked on as their daughter Arabella lit the menorah at the reception, and Ivanka’s other children were also at the event.

Stunning blonde Ivanka sadly made a fashion fail for the evening, wearing a frump black dress.

The dress, which came up to her neck and down to her wrists, shimmered with silver beading.

But the thick material added inches to Ivanka’s slim frame, making her appear much bigger than she is.

Clearly aware of the unforgiving nature of the dress, Ivanka attempted to flatter her waist by adding a black leather belt.

Her thick hair was blowdried straight and worn down over her shoulders.

Ivanka kept her makeup simple, wearing a thick mascara and nude lipgloss.

While the First Daughter only attended one event yesterday, her step-mother Melania was busy at two.

The First Lady started her day meeting children at the Children’s National Medical Center, Washington, reading a story as she sat with Santa Claus.

Feeling festive, Melania wore crisp white for the occasion, standing out in a fitted white pencil skirt which came to her knee.

She paired this with a glamorous white coat, worn over her shoulders, and a plain white t-shirt.

As always, the First Lady wore sky-high shoes, choosing snakeskin stiletto courts to set of the white of her outfit.

Later she joined Ivanka and the rest of the family at the Hanukkah reception.

Keeping her look relaxed, Melania’s dress was quite plain, fitting close to her body.

Ivanka Trump wears FRUMPY lace dress as she attends summit in Hydrabad https://briefnews.eu/ivanka-trump-wears-frumpy-lace-dress-as-she-attends-summit-in-hydrabad/ https://briefnews.eu/ivanka-trump-wears-frumpy-lace-dress-as-she-attends-summit-in-hydrabad/#respond Wed, 29 Nov 2017 08:58:54 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/ivanka-trump-wears-frumpy-lace-dress-as-she-attends-summit-in-hydrabad/

Ivanka Trump, Donald Trump’s daughter, is in India this week, and yesterday she urged the country to close its yawning gender gap in the job market, telling a business summit in her biggest foreign mission yet that this would bring huge economic benefits.

The First Daughter urged India to seize the untapped potential in women in a speech before Prime Minister Narendra Modi and business leaders in Hyderabad.

But while her comments might have been interesting, her style choice left a lot to be desired.

Youthful Ivanka look a decade older in a frumpy red lace dress.

Poppy red in colour, the dress featured rose lace on the top and was trimmed with black lace on the sleeves.

A red circle trim highlighted Ivanka’s slim waist, and the bottom half of the skirt had a red dotty pattern.

Small white flowers were also scattered on the skirt of the dress.

As the print of her dress was so busy, Ivanka kept her makeup minimal, opting for nude lipstick.

She wore her hair in loose tousled waves and a centre parting.

Ivanka’s dress choice was in stark contrast to one she wore earlier this week which featured sexy cutouts.

The mother-of-three, who is married to Jared Kushner, chose a brocade gown with green, purple and yellow flowers printed on it. The colour scheme may well have been a nod to India’s flag, which is yellow, white and green.

The dress was fairly conservative in the bottom, reaching way past her knees with elegant, flowing pleats.

However, the high neck top featured a cut out beneath which some cleavage could be seen.

The former model is visiting India in her role as advisor to the US President.

She shook hands with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi after they inaugurated the Global Entrepreneurship Summmit, taking place at the Hyderabad convention centre (HICC), in Hyderabad.

Ivanka is in the country to support the Global Entrepreneurship Summit’s effort to boost female entrepreneurs from India.

Donald Trump Asia tour: Melania Trump misses the mark in frumpy striped coat https://briefnews.eu/donald-trump-asia-tour-melania-trump-misses-the-mark-in-frumpy-striped-coat/ https://briefnews.eu/donald-trump-asia-tour-melania-trump-misses-the-mark-in-frumpy-striped-coat/#respond Sun, 05 Nov 2017 10:01:56 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/donald-trump-asia-tour-melania-trump-misses-the-mark-in-frumpy-striped-coat/

Donald Trump’s Asia tour has begun in Japan, with his wife Melania Trump meeting the Japanese Prime Minister Shino Abe’s wife Mrs Akie Abe.

The First Lady missed the fashion mark in an oversized wool coat with a striped pattern.

It’s woollen material and flower embellishment didn’t flatter the 47-year-olds frame.

She added some simple nude pumps and nails to the statement look.

She joined Mrs Akie Abe at the Mikimoto Ginza Main Store in Tokyo.

Melania was shown the Japanese cultured pearls at a flagship pearl shop.

The two women then discussed private matters away from the camera over tea and coffee.

She then tweeted: “Wonderful visit w/ Mrs. Abe today! Enjoyed conversation over tea & the cultural presentation on the history of pearls.”

The Trumps previously visitied Hawaii before starting the tour to Asia, with the First Lady stunning onlookers as she stepped out in a classic white midi dress.

Her simple wrap dress showed off her toned arms with capped sleeves, and a simple black belt to accentuate her waist.

She finished off the look with some snakeskin pointed stilettos whist joining her husband at the USS Arizona Memorial at Pearl Harbour.

Her husband Donald Trump laid a wreath to remember those who lost their lives at Pearl Harbour.

Donald Trump’s tour of Asia will include Japan, South Korea, China Vietnam and the Philippines.

The ten-day tour comes at a critical time regarding Kim Jong-un’s threats from North Korea.

The President will be pushing for Chinese President Xi Jinping to get tougher with Pyongyang.

Donald Trump will attend the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit in Danang, Vietnam, make a state visit to Hanoi and end his trip with the Association of South East Asia Nations summit in Manila.

The Style Guru Transforming Techies From Frumpy to Fashionable https://briefnews.eu/the-style-guru-transforming-techies-from-frumpy-to-fashionable/ https://briefnews.eu/the-style-guru-transforming-techies-from-frumpy-to-fashionable/#respond Mon, 10 Apr 2017 05:02:39 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/the-style-guru-transforming-techies-from-frumpy-to-fashionable/ Something is missing from the Giorgio Armani store in San Jose, and not just the price tags. Sandwiched between Versace, Balenciaga and other tongue-twisting fashion linchpins, this tony boutique sports the sleek minimalism of an Apple Store. But then Joseph Rosenfeld saunters in, peppy as a cheerleader. All is now right.

Today at the high-watt luxury section of the Valley Fair Mall, the 47-year-old fashionista is easy to spot: bright blue socks, figure-hugging McQueen slacks and, as a final touch, an embroidered pink daffodil on a Dolce & Gabbana jean jacket. High fashion and high tech don’t usually go together, but Rosenfeld quietly sits at the intersection of these two worlds. He may not exactly be a brand name in Milan or Paris, but he’s transformed dozens of Bay Area techies from frumpy to fashionable through his What Not to Wear-like makeover, the “sticker shock” fees of which run in the thousands. His high-wattage Rolodex of clients includes high-powered tech attorneys, graphic designers from Apple, senior engineers at Google, über rich venture capitalists at the prominent firms along Sand Hill Road, wives of tech billionaires, etc. He’s a little clammed up when it comes to actually name-dropping clients, but some call him the “image maestro” of Silicon Valley, says former client Zile Rehman, the longtime IT guy at Nyansa, a software company in Palo Alto. Rosenfeld took him “out of my fashion doldrums.”

Two years ago, Silicon Valley held its first cutting-edge Fashion Week with 3-D printed garb, gadget couture and drones flying down the runway.

Others praise Rosenfeld for his discreetness — which is perhaps why none of those aforementioned tech celebs responded to our requests for comment. His makeovers are extensive for each client, spanning all four seasons. From spring to winter, Rosenfeld scours clothing racks — not runways — from San Francisco to London, adorning his nerdy, shop-a-phobe startupppers with cashmere hoodies, Lanvin sneakers and Gucci loafers that turn up the glitz but still suit the laid-back Valley ethos. “It’s not about the clothes. It’s about the powerful image that you portray,” Rosenfeld says, adjusting the thick black frames that overwhelm his thin face.

People like Rosenfeld comprise part of the increasingly large posse of image consultants and coaches that tech execs now sport. According to TrackMaven, 39 percent of CEOs used an executive coach in the last 12 months, a proportion that increased dramatically as their companies grow to scale, and between 2009 and 2014, the personal shopping industry grew more than four percent to $ 762 million and more than 28,000 personal shoppers in the U.S., according to research company IBISWorld.

Clothing profile merge

After all — “the most fashionable accessory of all time was invented in Cupertino, more than whatever you got out of Prada or Gucci,” says Chris Lindland of Silicon Valley Fashion Week, referring to the iPhone. The craze is, indeed, building: LA-based Snapchat’s Evan Spiegel and Yahoo’s Marissa Mayer both graced the glossy pages of Vogue between 2013 and 2015. Square CEO Jack Dorsey regularly sports Hermès suits while Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg opts for Prada ankle boots. Two years ago, Silicon Valley held its first cutting-edge Fashion Week with 3-D printed garb, gadget couture and drones flying down the runway. A year later, the fashion event of the year, the Met Gala in New York, chose the theme Manus x Machina; celebrities graced the red carpet in fake steel, glitter and techno-inspired regalia. But here, Rosenfeld is not pulling high-concept garb for his clients. He balances practicality with precision, considering his clients’ eyebrow color and even freckles into account when curating a new wardrobe or color palette.

Joseph half profile

The matter-of-factness emerges in Rosenfeld’s telling of his personal story, too, though it’s riddled with darkness. Rosenfeld grew up with deeply seated insecurities in Chicago, stemming, he says, from a childhood rape from his female babysitter and the untimely death of his father. His adolescence, he says, was marked by a “pre-suicidal” state (“because I never had the guts to actually do it”) and no friends (“people treated me like I had the plague”). While we can’t confirm all the details, Rosenfeld speaks openly about this, not just with me; the story is told in his new book. But Rosenfeld’s self-esteem picked up when he grabbed a 1985 copy of the Official Preppy Handbook which taught him the basics of style, fashion and the golden rule: never wear white after Labor Day. After dropping out of both Drexel and DePaul University, he worked as a sales associate at Neiman Marcus and Bigsby & Kruthers before, in true Valley fashion, starting his own venture in 2001 — a style consulting firm in San Jose.

However, his firm is still at odds with the long-standing dogma in Silicon Valley: minimalism. Go little, or go to New York. Jobs’ black turtlenecks; Zuckerberg’s gray hoodie — dressing to impress means to dressing down with jeans and sometimes ill-fitting, untucked shirts, says fashion expert Tosha Clemens. There’s no software update for that. Back at Armani, the sleek-suited cashier tells me Rosenfeld is a regular. Rosenfeld eyes a few soft, handwoven sweaters, like he’s admiring Monet and Van Gogh at the Louvre. He feels right at home amidst the mannequins and crammed racks of tailored blazers and trim trousers. You wouldn’t be caught dead wearing a hoodie here.

Cheltenham Festival 2017 – frumpy fur and TERRIBLE tartan on WORST dressed ladies https://briefnews.eu/cheltenham-festival-2017-frumpy-fur-and-terrible-tartan-on-worst-dressed-ladies/ https://briefnews.eu/cheltenham-festival-2017-frumpy-fur-and-terrible-tartan-on-worst-dressed-ladies/#respond Tue, 14 Mar 2017 16:03:27 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/cheltenham-festival-2017-frumpy-fur-and-terrible-tartan-on-worst-dressed-ladies/

Cheltenham Festival sees racing fans travel to the town to place bets and watch the spectacle, with royals in attendance.

But while some look fit for a queen, others opt for rather questionable ensembles.

This year was no exception, with one man dressed in a suit with a £50 motif all over it.

Let’s hope manages to convert those fabric fifties to real ones with some clever betting.

One young woman wore a bright pink outfit with a fascinator that read “POW” across the forehead in cartoon-style type – an interesting choice.

Another rather overdressed lady wore a matching pink and green check two-piece with garishly long blue nails and a Chanel bag that still had the label on.

One woman looked very dowdy in a bag-lady ensemble with a strange knitted scarf and cardigan, pyjama-like losers and a large fur hat.

Another outlandish hat featured more pheasant feathers and a multi-tonal clover design.

Another young lady certainly didn’t get the memo about the races being a classy affair.

She wore a skin-tight purple mini-dress with an eyeful of cleavage on show.

Zara Phillips, however, wowed at the festival with a blue ensemble.

Zara brought a touch of royal glamour as she arrived for the first day of the popular horse-racing event.

It is believed the outing is one of her first public appearances since announcing her and husband Mike Tindall had suffered a miscarriage.

The Queen’s granddaughter is an Olympic medal-winning equestrian and is famous for her love of horses.

For more worst dressed, Express.co.uk picked out the style flops from the Oscars.

A number of attendees whose looks gained attention on the red carpet for all the wrong reasons.
