The summer may almost be over, but it’s not too late to work one of 2018’s biggest fashion trends.
This year, fairytale florals stormed the catwalks with designers such as Gucci and Erdem championing the look. Subsequently, the highstreet took note.
Our take on the romantic look steals inspiration from nature’s rich colour pallete and intricate florals, with a nod to 70s inspired retro print and detail.
From highstreet favourites to perfectly mixing luxe fabrics with decadent prints, here are 7 ways to work the trend and create your own enchanted warm Indian summer style.

Look to singer Florence Welch for inspiration (Image: Sun Mag)
Model wears: Kimono sleeve maxi dress, POR, Yumi Katsura
Make a beautiful entrance in a kimono style maxi dress with oversized sleeves; this stunning floral design by French designer Yumi Katsura is a total showstopper.
Singer Florence Welch wears this look to perfection is often seen rocking a glam-boho style when performing on stage.

Accessorise with a turban for a nod to the 70s trend (Image: Sun Mag)
Model wears: Pussybow blouse, £295, Luisa Cerano; Jacquard pink trousers, £48, River Island; Turban, £140, Marzoline
Retro prints are still a strong trend and will carry on into autumn and beyond, with designer powerhouse Gucci having a huge influence on the highstreet with its luxury aesthetic and eclectic, vintage edge.
This statement geo-print pussy-bow blouse by Luisa Cerano is easily styled with jacquard tailored trousers from River Island; the pretty pearl button detail completes the luxe feel.
For an authentic 70s look finish the look with a satin turban in a tonal shade of blush pink.

A nude lace is the perfect partner for romantic florals (Image: Sun Mag)
Model wears: Embroidered cape, £1,200, Nadya Shah, Nude lace dress, £300, Body Frock
Layering is the perfect way to transition into late summer, this ivory embellished cape draped delicately over the shoulders creates a magical whimsical feel, worn over a soft nude lace gown this enhances the fairytale look perfectly.

A lilac suit should be a staple in every wardrobe (Image: Sun Mag)
Model wears: Lilac jacket, £55, Lilac wide-leg trousers, £55, both Topshop; Ruffle neck blouse, £35, V by Very; Snake earrings, £125, MeMe London; Gold ring, £289, Chupi; Heart ring, £85, Lola Rose; Lilac sliders, £36, Topshop; Sunglasses, £9.99, Berskha
Tailoring is a great choice for a summer wedding or an event, this silky lilac two-piece from Topshop ticks all the boxes.
The tux style jacket is super flattering and layered over a ruffle floral blouse gives the look a cool 70s vibe. Sunglasses and sliders in a tonal pastel shades finish the look with ease.

Wedding season ready
Most of the sartorial stress is on the Bride on her wedding day, but that doesn’t mean it’s easy for the rest of us. Don’t panic, we’ll talk you through the best way to feel guest appropriate.
First rule is to not upstage the bride (this is also not the time to experiment!) but at the same time look sartorially sensational from ceremony -to prosecco on the lawn- to dinner table- to dancefloor seamlessly.
For a summer wedding, pastels are the choice of fashion forward guests for that understated, less is more appeal. You are also more likely to adapt them into your summer wardrobe after the event.

Not sure whether to wear maxi length to a wedding? Well Emily Blunt, Kylie Minogue, Jennifer Lawrence to name a few have all opted for floor length for their wedding guest attire.
The key with wearing a maxi dress to a wedding is to choose a style with a structured silhouette. If you wear anything too wafty you’re at risk of looking like you just walked off the beach.
