  • Former US Attorney Geoffrey Berman said the potential for a second Trump administration "frightens me."
  • Berman said Trump would repeat "all of the dangerous and outrageous things he did as president" in a second term.
  • The former US attorney added that it is unlikely that Trump will be indicted on any charges before the midterms.

A former US Attorney said the thought of former President Donald Trump being re-elected "frightens me." 

Trump has teased a 2024 run but appears to be holding his announcement until after the midterms in November. Meanwhile, he continues to repeat disproven claims that the 2020 election was stolen.

On NBC's "Meet the Press" on Sunday, former US Attorney for the Southern District of New York Geoffrey Berman said Trump's potential second term would be "dangerous."

"I shudder to think about it. The prospect of a second Trump administration frightens me," Berman said. "All of the dangerous and outrageous things he did as president will be repeated if there's a second administration, except this time, he's going to be more successful in doing that."

Berman added: "And remember, when he was president, he always knew he had to stand for reelection. If there's a second administration, he'll be free of those concerns."

 

After his Mar-A-Lago property was raided for a slew of confidential documents, Trump said on Truth Social that the raid was "one of the most egregious assaults on democracy in the history of our Country," according to The New York Times. At a rally in Youngstown, Ohio this weekend, Trump decried the "unprecedented weaponization of the Justice Department and the FBI," NBC reported. 

Berman – who volunteered for the Trump campaign in 2016, per NBC – expressed frustration about Trump's criticisms of the Justice Department.

"Trump is trying to portray himself somehow as the victim of a politicized Department of Justice," Berman said. "It was under Trump and under Barr that the politicization of the Department of Justice actually occurred. There's no evidence supporting that he was victimized." 

Berman added that it's unlikely that the raid will lead to any indictments of Trump before the midterms. 

"I don't think anything dramatic should be expected prior to the election," Berman said.

As Claire looked at the man sitting across from her, she was consumed by an overwhelming rush of love for him. However this wasn’t a family member or a good friend. The truth was Claire didn’t know him. In fact, she had only just met him.

Claire, who lives with her husband and two children in Fleet, Hampshire, had her first spiritual experience when she was just four when she visited a cemetery with her grandmother to put flowers on her grandfather’s grave.

“My grandfather died when I was three so I don’t have memories from when he was alive but I had an experience where I heard my grandfather speak to me.

“My grandmother was laying flowers at his grave and I was playing nearby. I heard a clear message in my mind saying: ‘Claire, please tell nanny that granddad says ‘I love you Ivy’.

“When I told my grandmother she was shocked because although Ivy was her real name, everyone but my grandfather called her Connie.”

Claire had her first spiritual experience at a cemetery

Claire’s next spiritual experience happened when she was a teenager. “When I was in my early teens I would sometimes wake up and see a figure standing at the end of my bed.

“At first I wondered whether I was dreaming but even when I was fully awake I could see him standing there so I’d run into my mum’s room. It was really unnerving.” Claire kept seeing the figure at the end of her bed throughout her teens but didn’t know what it meant. Then one day when she was 19, a friend persuaded her to go and see a spiritual medium.

“First of all, the medium brought through my granddad and she named him. She said he was telling her that I was psychic and that he’d tried to communicate with me directly.

“There was no way she could have known that, it was so personal.

“Then she said there was a spirit guide coming close to her and she told me that she could see a Native American and that he was called White Feather because he was coming in peace.

“At first I was very dismissive and thought, everyone gets told they have a Native American guide. Can I believe this?”

Then a few years later, she saw another medium, who gave her a similar reading.

“I went to see a well-known medium who was doing a public demonstration. I bought one of his books and when I went to get it signed he said: ‘You know you have a Native American with you and he’s given me the name of White Feather.’

“I was so shocked because I couldn’t think how he’d possibly know that. And that’s why I decided to start finding out more.”

Alongside her job in advertising, Claire started having weekly sessions with a medium to learn more about communicating with the spirit world.

“It definitely frightened me at times because I didn’t understand it.

“But the magical thing about this is that once you start to learn about it, you realise that there’s nothing frightening going on. Our imagination is what frightens us the most.”

She wants to encourage people to develop their spiritual abilities

After 10 years of studying mediumship, Claire started going to spiritualist churches and giving readings herself.

And before long, people began asking her for private readings.

“I see the joy and the peace of mind that my clients get from hearing personal messages. It’s such a rewarding thing to do for someone.

“For me, the most amazing thing isn’t knowing the name of someone’s relative, it’s bringing through the essence of that person’s personality. It could be argued that you could look names up but you can’t look up someone’s character.”

Claire also wants to encourage others to develop their spiritual abilities too. “I believe everyone can have intuition. I’m not special at all, the only difference between me and someone else is that I took the 10 years to learn about mediumship and communicating with spirits.

“Being able to get messages from Heaven doesn’t take away the challenges of life or the pain of missing loved ones but what it does do is give you a broader perspective on life without being fearful of death. It’s given me a sense of purpose and brought so much comfort to others.”

North Korean leader Kim Jong Un launched a salvo of threats aimed at President Donald Trump on Thursday, following Trump’s address at the UN General Assembly where he called Kim Jong Un “Rocket Man” and admonished his regime for its continued provocations.

In a series of aggressive statements and metaphors, KCNA, North Korea’s state-sanctioned news organization, released the statement, which was said to have been personally delivered by Kim Jong Un.

“The speech made by the US president … on the UN arena in the prevailing serious circumstance, in which the situation on the Korean peninsula has been rendered tense as never before and is inching closer to a touch-and-go state, is arousing worldwide concern,” Kim Jong Un’s statement read.

“But, far from making remarks of any persuasive power that can be viewed to be helpful to defusing tension, he made unprecedented rude nonsense one has never heard from any of his predecessors,” the statement continued. “A frightened dog barks louder.”

North Korea’s statement comes amid a meeting between Trump and South Korean President Moon Jae-in on Thursday, where Trump moved to impose new sanctions against the hostile regime; and two days after Trump made his first appearance before the UN General Assembly.

During his speech before the UN, Trump said Kim Jong Un was “on a suicide mission” and asserted that if North Korea continued its provocations, the US would “have no choice but to totally destroy” the country.

“If this is not twisted enough, now North Korea’s reckless pursuit of nuclear weapons and ballistic missiles threatens the entire world with unthinkable loss of human life,” Trump said at the UN on Tuesday. “It is an outrage that some nations would not only trade with such a regime, but would arm, supply, and financially support a country that imperils the world with nuclear conflict.”

North Korea continued to flex its military power with another missile test last week. The missile managed to fly over Hokkaido, Japan, causing panic and forcing the country to issue public alerts for its citizens. The test also came less than two weeks after North Korea tested what it claimed was a hydrogen bomb, which if true, would be a massive boost for its weapons program.

Following the missile test, the UN Security Council delivered sanctions against the country, imposing a ban on North Korea’s textile exports and caps crude-oil exports to North Korea. The sanctions; however, appeared to have little effect for the regime’s leader.

“Whatever Trump might have expected, he will face results beyond his expectation,” Kim Jong Un’s statement continued. “I will surely and definitely tame the mentally deranged US dotard with fire.”
