“Jamie dies first and keeps his promise that he’ll find Claire in death, and as he waits he takes advantage of opportunities to see her on the holidays when the spirit and real world are open to each other, like Samhain.

Fans of the Outlander books which the Starz series is based on know that in A Breath of Snow and Ashes Tom Christie arrives on the Ridge with his daughter Malva.

Their arrival certainly ruffles feathers as Malva tries to poison both Claire and Tom when she tries to convince the settlers Jamie is the father of her unborn baby.

This ties in with a spoiler shared by actress Caitriona who said Claire’s medical knowledge will be tested.

In the novels, the time traveller will be concerned when many of the settlers are struck down with dysentery but her symptoms are different.

Speaking on the Outlander End of Summer Series, she told executive producer Maril Davis: “I’m very close to writing it but as to what it is, it’s a really really interesting book and I’m having so much with it, especially now I’m in the final phases where I actually really know everything I know that is left.

“I can’t say there’s no tragedy in it.”

Diana added: “Somebody asked me a few weeks ago, ‘Can you say something in five words or less that will make people want to read book nine?’ and I said, ‘Yes, he’s still alive.’ Because that’s what they’re afraid of, that Jamie’s going to die in this book.”

One of the special Outlander episodes will see executive producer Maril Davis interview author of the novels, Diana Gabaldon. There seem to be plenty of secrets and surprises in store for fans of the Starz series as the teaser for the instalments sees Diana hint at the fate of Claire Fraser (played by Caitriona Balfe).

Claire has come close to death on several occasions, most notably int he season five finale when she was kidnapped by Lionel Brown (Ned Dennehy) and his men.

In the sixth season there have been hints Claire will suffer from a bad bout of dysentery.

Speaking at the PaleyFest in LA earlier this month, actress Caitriona explained Claire may get a hair cut.

Her teaser could refer to the moment in A Breath of Snow and Ashes which sees her battle dysentery and have her hair shaved to help bring down her temperature.

They will also be joined by Aunt Jocasta star Maria Doyle Kennedy who will give a special performance of Flowers of the Forest.

For the fourth and final instalment, lead stars Caitriona and Sam Heughan, best known as Jamie Fraser, will reunite.

They will be discussing their favourite moments from the series and answer questions from fans around the world.

One question is shown in the teaser with a fan asking: “I would like to know what it was like working with the maggots.”

“Like a bowl of Rice Krispies,” Caitriona reveals referencing Claire’s medical methods in the 18th Century.

The four episodes are being released to support Doctors Without Borders, who are on the frontline of the coronavirus pandemic.

It will also give fans the chance to find out more about season six and hear plenty of backstage secrets.

When Outlander‘s Claire Fraser (played by Caitriona Balfe) first told Brianna (Sophie Skelton) her father wasn’t Frank Randall (Tobias Menzies), the man who raised her, but in fact a highlander named Jamie Fraser (Sam Heughan) from 18th Century Scotland, her daughter was horrified. Brianna believed her mother was delusional and trying to hurt her by making up lies. However as Claire showed her evidence that Jamie was her father, she slowly came around to the idea and accepted her mother was a time-traveller.

However, while Claire travelled back to the 18th Century Scotland to reunite with her true love once she learned Jamie was alive, Brianna wasn’t so keen to meet her father.

Instead she built up a relationship with Roger MacKenzie (Richard Rankin) and the two became romantically involved.

But a tender moment between the two was cut from season three which involved Brianna taking a swipe at her father.

In the script from season three, episode four, Roger remarks: “Your mother’s a very determined woman.

Reflecting on the moment, Brianna star Sophie told Gold Derby: “I know a lot of people, and understandably, a lot of fans when Jamie and Bree met, fans have been waiting for it for so long, and obviously Jamie and Bree have, well Jamie has more than Bree in terms of the knowledge they have of each other existing, I think it would have been lovely to have this magical moment where they just got on like a house on fire straight away.

“But realistically, Bree at the time is a 20-year-old woman and she has never met this man before.

“She also has some loyalty issues in terms of feeling like she was betraying Frank a little bit.”

She went on to add: “But I think once she got settled with that and realised actually Frank had sort of trained her to go back anyway and he knew it was going to happen.

The first ever episode of Outlander saw Claire Fraser (played by Caitriona Balfe) touch the stones at Craigh Na Dun and travel back to the 18th Century where she met her second husband, Jamie Fraser (Sam Heughan). She eventually returned to her own time at the end of season two to escape the aftermath of the Battle of Culloden. However, after 20 years apart and learning Jamie was still alive after the fight, Claire returned to 18th Century Scotland to reunite with the love of her life.

Claire has explained how she must have a precious stone to travel in time and can hear a buzzing noise when she approaches the stones.

Her daughter with Jamie, Brianna (Sophie Skelton) has the same ability and season four saw Roger MacKenzie (Richard Rankin) learn he too could hear the buzzing sound.

Most recently, season five ended with Brianna and Roger learning their son Jemmy could hear the buzzing and they decided to return to their own time.

However, in a surprise twist for many fans of the Outlander novels by Diana Gabaldon, the family of three ended up back in 18th Century North Carolina.

“They trimmed off the last bit of dialogue, and people probably miss that, but they’ll enjoy the scene, regardless.

“And then there’s the window sill scene, of course, which I had a lot of fun with.

“That comes before the microscope scene, for obvious reasons.”

After a night of passion, Claire takes Jamie’s sperm and places it under her microscope to show him his “seed”.

Jamie was stunned by the revelation as his wife watched on in amusement.

The episode also saw Claire introduce a number of other items from her own time as she made peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for Brianna.

It’s safe to say Jamie wasn’t too impressed leaving fans even more desperate to see him travel to the future.

Outlander fans are awaiting the moment Stephen Bonnet (played by Ed Speelers) returns and demands to take custody of young Jemmy. Bonnet could be the father of Jemmy after her raped Brianna Fraser (Sophie Skelton) in season four but Roger (Richard Rankin) may also be the young lad’s dad. In the trailer for episode nine, Monsters and Heroes, Jamie can be heard telling Roger: “We must kill Stephen Bonnet. If I cannot it, you must.”

The remark leaves Roger shocked as he tells wife Brianna: “Your dad thinks Bonnet may have the right to take Jemmy away from us.”

The reveal does not sit well with Brianna who looks terrified at the prospect of losing her son.

With Jamie determined to face off against Bonnet, it looks like his life may be in danger.

A fourth worried: “Is it me or the beginning of the video Jamie looked injured?!”

The latest theories come as Richard Rankin teased details of the latest season on his official Twitter account.

After watching episode eight, a fan asked: “#AskRichardRankin In the end, Roger decides to get up and fight.

“Do you think a part of him will always resent that time and place for what it did to him, though?”

Richard replied: “That’s a good question. I’m writing it down for my S6 prep. Not really.

“I think it’s coming to terms with the time, his situation, himself even. It’s a change that he has to go through and I’d like to think that he won’t hold on to it in that way. #AskRichardRankin.”

Could this be the biggest hint yet that Roger and Brianna will remain in the past instead of trying to time travel with Jemmy?
