  • Insider obtained a copy of the lawsuit, in which Lindell is represented by lawyer Alan Dershowitz.
  • Lindell says the FBI and DOJ violated his First, Fourth, Fifth, and Sixth Amendment rights.

MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell is suing the FBI and Department of Justice for seizing his mobile phone outside a Hardee's in Mankato, Minnesota, and accusing the authorities of violating his constitutional rights. 

Lindell sent Insider a copy of the lawsuit in which Attorney General Merrick Garland and FBI Director Christopher Wray were listed as defendants.

Represented by a legal team including conservative lawyer Alan Dershowitz, Lindell's suit claims the FBI violated his "First, Fourth, Fifth, and Sixth Amendment" rights. He is also demanding that his cell phone be returned and that any information obtained from his phone by the FBI or DOJ not be released. 

The lawsuit gives a detailed account of Lindell's side of the incident, in which he describes driving home at 4 a.m. on September 13 with a friend after going duck hunting in Minnesota. Per the suit, Lindell's group was at a Hardee's in Mankato sometime in the late morning when they found themselves boxed in by FBI officers.

Lindell's team wrote that the FBI must have had him under surveillance because he had not made his location at the Hardee's publicly known.

The filing also stated that Lindell began "fearing for his and his friend's lives" as FBI officers approached their vehicle. Per the filing, a conversation then ensued between Lindell and the officers about "Dominion Voting Systems," indicted Mesa County clerk Tina Peters, and Lindell's private plane travel. The officers also seized Lindell's phone.

Lindell told Insider last week that the phone seizure was linked to an investigation into Mesa County Clerk Tina Peters, a pro-Trump Colorado election official accused of facilitating an election-data leak.

Lindell has been linked to Peters, who was accused in April of accepting a private plane ride from the business owner. Lindell also told Insider that he'd been helping to pay off Peters' legal fees, with some funds coming from his "personal money" that was redirected through a fundraising platform called the Lindell Legal Offense Fund.

Lindell's team further claimed in their filing that the MyPillow CEO had been subjected to "unlawful detention" and that the agencies had been "unreasonable" when executing the search and seizure warrant.

A representative from the DOJ attached to Lindell's case told Insider that their office had no comment on the matter. 

Speaking to Insider on Tuesday, Lindell said he was suing over what he thought was the "worst violation" of his rights. 

"It's horrible. Can you believe they did that to your friend?" he told Insider.

Lindell told Insider that had the FBI approached him at night, he would have "bashed" his way through their cars with his pickup truck. 

"Because I would have thought they were bad guys there. There was no sign that they were law enforcement, the way they surrounded me like that," he said, adding that he believed the agency had been "weaponized" by the government. 

However, Lindell maintained that he would not have minded being detained by the FBI. 

"I don't care if I get arrested or anything or if they're going to bring me in," Lindell said. "So I can get the word out to get rid of the voting machines, you know that? I'd do whatever it takes." 

Lindell continues to be highly involved in pushing former President Donald Trump's false claims of voter fraud in the 2020 election. For one, he is bankrolling a nationwide effort to stop the use of electronic voting machines. He is also embroiled in a $ 1.3 billion lawsuit filed against him by the voting-technology company Dominion and a suit filed by the voting-systems company Smartmatic.

ABC’s ’90s girl group has found its fourth member: My Name Is Earl vet Nadine Velazquez has joined the Alphabet network’s hip-hop drama pilot Queens, our sister site Deadline reports.

The potential series follows four women in their 40s who reunite for a chance to recapture their fame and regain the swagger they had as the ’90s hip-hop group Nasty Bitches. Velazquez’s character, Valeria, was known as the Puerto Rican rapper Butter Pecan. The other members of the quartet are played by Eve (Eve), Brandy (Moesha) and Naturi Naughton (Power).

Velazquez’s TV credits also include Six, Major Crimes and The League.

With Riverdale under threat from severe under-funding, the gang have had to abandon their lives to ensure their sacred place of learning stays open as the rest of their town descends into anarchy.

As viewers tuned in on The CW, an unexpected call-back to Archie’s unintentionally hilarious prison speech in season three sent fans into a tailspin on social media.

The series attracted overwhelming attention from bemused fans and the uninitiated alike when Archie rallied his fellow prisoners during his brief stint in Shankshaw Prison to play a game of football.

Things took a bizarre turn when one inmate admitted he dropped out of high school to sell drugs and care for his dying grandma.

To which the ever-dramatic Archie replied: “Then you haven’t known the triumphs and defeats, the epic highs and lows of high school football.”

Archie’s questionable retort instantly went viral, and remains a popular reference among Riverdale fans on social media platforms such as Twitter and TikTok.

“‘The epic highs and lows’ line. I love that. Go off Jughead,” another viewer said.

And a third exclaimed: “Dude – Jug mocking Archie’s ‘epic highs and lows of high school football’ speech is the best thing I’ve ever seen!”

Jughead’s snarky quip also prompted some fans to wonder why Archie didn’t bring up his infamous ‘I’m a weirdo’ line.

Riverdale originally became meme material in the first season when Jughead admitted to Betty: “In case you haven’t noticed, I’m weird. I’m a weirdo.”

“I don’t ‘fit in’, and I don’t want to fit in. Have you ever seen me without this stupid hat on? That’s weird.”

As another fan said: “Jughead calling out Archie’s ‘epic highs and lows’ speech is begging for Archie to ask him if he’s ‘a weirdo’ to be honest.”

The CW’s ludicrous Archie Comics adaptation may have finally started to win its naysayers over as Riverdale’s fifth season promises to lean into its baffling reputation.

Riverdale season 5 continues Wednesday, March 10 on the CW and the following Thursday on Netflix.

CBS is looking to expand the NCIS franchise outside the contiguous United States.

TVLine has learned that the Eye network is in the early stages of developing a new iteration of NCIS, this one set in Hawaii. This would mark CBS’ third NCIS spinoff and the fourth NCIS series overall, joining the Mark Harmon-headlined mothership, NCIS: Los Angeles and NCIS: New Orleans.

A CBS spokesperson declined to comment for this story.

Prior to the franchise’s newest entry, NCIS: New Orleans, launching in 2014, CBS was developing NCIS: Red, an offshoot centering on a mobile anti-terrorist unit dubbed the Red Team. The project — which was to star John Corbett, Kim Raver, Scott Grimes, Edwin Hodge, and Gillian Alexy — did not make it past the backdoor pilot stage.

The NCIS franchise was born via a two-part, April 2003 episode of JAG that introduced Mark Harmon’s Gibbs, Michael Weatherly’s DiNozzo, Pauley Perrette’s Abby and David McCallum’s Ducky. When JAG leads David James Elliott and Catherine Bell briefly reprised their roles as Navy Captain “Harm” Rabb Jr.and Lieutenant Colonel Sarah “Mac” MacKenzie on NCIS:LA in 2019, there was buzz that CBS was testing the waters for a a full-fledged JAG revival.

Reacting to said scuttlebutt, NCIS: LA showrunner R. Scott Gemmill said at the time, “I never say never to anything. It’s really up to [CBS]. That’s not my call to make.”

A Capitol Fourth is set to mark its 40th anniversary with a completely overhauled show.

In light of the coronavirus pandemic, PBS’ annual 4th of July celebration will not be held on the West Lawn of the U.S. Capitol. Instead, the special will feature pre-taped performances from iconic locations across the country, including Los Angeles, Nashville, New York, Philadelphia and Washington D.C. It will then conclude with a live fireworks show from the nation’s capitol.

The 90-minute broadcast (which begins at 8/7c) will be hosted by John Stamos (who returns for a fourth-consecutive year) and Vanessa Williams. Yolanda Adams, Trace Adkins, Lauren Alaina, Renée Flemming, John Fogerty, Brantley Gilbert, Mandy Gonzalez, Andy Grammer, Patti LaBelle, Brian Stokes Mitchell, Kelli O’Hara and The Temptations are scheduled to perform.

As far as counter-programming goes, NBC at 8 pm will air the Macy’s 4th of July Fireworks Spectacular. The two-hour broadcast will be hosted by Today‘s Craig Melvin and feature Black Eyed Peas, The Killers, Lady A, John Legend, Tim McGraw, Brad Paisley and National Youth Poet L­­aureate Amanda Gorman.

Over on CNN, Don Lemon and Dana Bash will preside over The Fourth in America, a four-hour celebration with performances by Burt Bacharach and musicians from the Berklee College of Music, Pat Benatar and Neil Giraldo, Billy Ray Cyrus, Andy Grammer, Harlem Gospel Choir, Jewel, Kenny Loggins, Barry Manilow, Martina McBride, Don McLean, The O’Jays, Carlos Santana and Cindy Blackman Santana, CeCe Winans, Jesse Colin Young and Little Kids Rock, and the Broadway casts of Ain’t Too Proud: The Life and Times of the Temptations and Girl From the North Country.

Ryanair pilots employed in Ireland have announced they will strike on Friday 3 August unless their demands are met.

The members of the Irish Airline Pilots’ Association (IALPA) have warned that further strikes could take place unless Ryanair’s management “changed tack and negotiated in good faith on the issue of base transfers and related matters.”

IALPA tweeted today: “Ryanair members to strike on 3 August. The company’s action today is reckless, unnecessary and designed to intimidate our members.” 

Pilots’ union Fórsa said Ryanair’s decision to issue letters of protective notice was a move to put pressure on employees, reported RTÉ News.

The letters were given to more than 300 members of staff.

The news comes as Ryanair revealed earlier today it will be cutting its Dubin-based fleet by 20 per cent for the winter 2018 season.

Ryanair plans to cut the fleet from 30 to 24 aircraft.

The airline says the decision was taken after the “rapid” growth of the Polish arm, which will now have its aircraft numbers doubled.

The British Airline Pilots’ Association (BALPA) took to Twitter to criticise Ryanair’s move to axe staff.

“This is extremely regrettable,” they tweeted. The accompanying job losses could look to Irish pilots and other people like a punishment for participation in strike action. 

“This does not give a good impression and is likely further to inflame the situation.”

BALPA previously tweeted: “We have submitted several proposals, including ones to bring an end to a fragmented pay structure, reduce the number of contract pilots and the acceptance of seniority. 

“Ryanair has so far failed to accept any of these proposals.”

Ryanair has revealed on Twitter that they expect no more than 20 of their 290 Irish flights next Friday to be cancelled

The airline tweeted: “FORSA has rejected our offer to meet today to brief them on the planned aircraft (6) and job (300) cuts in Dublin from October.

“FORSA’s only response to 300 job losses is to call a fourth pilot strike next Fri (3 August). We will contact affected customers on Thursday 26 July but we expect no more than 20 of our 290 Irish flights next Friday to be cancelled.

“We’ve told FORSA that there will be no more meetings while they hold strikes. If they wish to meet after next Friday’s strike, then we will do so here at our offices, but not if more strikes are called.

“We are finalising our plans for up to 100 pilot and 200 cabin crew employee job cuts. These numbers may increase if FORSA strikes cause more damage to our Irish business

The strikes follow disputes over working conditions and pay, as living costs increase, but a Ryanair spokesman has called the walkout “unnecessary”.

Lucifer fans had been waiting for the moment for a very long time, and it didn’t disappoint.

Following a struggle with Cain/Pierce (played by Tom Welling), Lucifer (Tom Ellis) managed to overpower him and ended up killing him with a demon blade.

When he turned around to face Chloe (Lauren German), his red devil face left her completely stunned but there’s a huge question mark hanging over what she will do next.

Now, fans have been theorising about what will happen when the fourth instalment returns.

One viewer posted to a Reddit forum: “I would like it if S4 started right where S3 left off. If it doesn’t a flashback that shows us Chloe’s immediate reaction would do (I know we saw a bit of it in the finale but more would be nice).

“Then I could imagine it going a couple ways, either Dan and Ella show up and are confused as hell at the scene before them (by then Lucifer would probably look like his normal self) and possibly find out the truth.

“And/Or Lucifer would call on Amenadiel, Maze or maybe Linda to help deal with the fallout or help out Chloe if she’s freaking out (this would probably go to Linda).

“There should also be a therapy session with Lucifer, Chloe, and Linda at some point in the first episode, or at some point in the season if Chloe doesn’t want to be around Lucifer for a bit (I hope not).”

And it seems as though plenty of fans are in agreement that the programme should pick up exactly where it left off.

Another fan added: “Pick up immediately, definitely.”

While another stated: “I’m hoping it’ll pick up right where S3 left off. I want to see Chloe’s full reaction and what she does immediately after.

“Right after the end of the finale,” a fourth chimed in.

“I’m hoping for flash backs to all the “proof” she’s seen in the past and her finally coming to grips with it all.”

Viewers came very close to not finding out what happened next at all.

Lucifer could’ve ended for good at season three after Fox announced it was cancelling the programme.

However, streaming site Netflix swooped in to save the day and will be the viewing platform for season four after an outcry from the show’s loyal fanbase.

Lead star Tom tweeted the good news to his Twitter account last month.

He wrote: ”WE DID IT !!!!!!!!!!! Thank you to everyone for your continued support and love for #Lucifer I am so happy for all our fans I’m going to burst.

“#LuciferSeason4 on @Netflix wow that sounds nice. You fans made this happen. #LuciFansrock #Lucifersaved”

Lucifer season 4 is set to go into production this summer.
