Property expert Scarlette Douglas was on hand to help home hunter Martin find his dream property near Valencia in the town of Campo de Turia, Spain. Accompanied by his brother and painter and decorator Arthur, Martin was looking to relocate permanently, despite having never visited the region before. Nevertheless, Scarlette managed to wow the prospective buyer with a number of options – including one that was so impressive, Martin decided to make an offer. However, it’s fair to say the A Place in the Sun guest’s negotiations method left plenty to be desired with some Channel 4 viewers. Martin was keen to move near Valencia in Spain thanks to its warmer climate, stunning views and to continue his hobby as a keen fisherman. As a result, Scarlette lined up a number of suitable properties that ticked Martin’s boxes, which included a pool and plenty of room for his four children to visit. With brother Arthur in tow, he was on hand to share insight into what each property would need in terms of improvement and whether each home had potential. And Scarlette had saved the best until last as Martin eventually placed an offer on a three-bedroom villa with its own field of orange trees and a pool – even though it needed a bit of work on the inside. READ MORE: A Place In The Sun host Jonnie Irwin nearly loses patience with buyer Arthur fell in love with property number five from the get-go as he quickly said on arrival: “Love the views, the views are stunning.” Martin gave off a slightly more lukewarm response, however, as he began to pick apart faults with the dated look of the house’s interior. However, the A Place in the Sun house-hunter was won over by the spacious land outside and gorgeous pool. Taking the work it would need into account, Martin decided to make an offer, but well under the owner’s £135,000 asking price. The owner was also stubborn in his approach, however, rejecting Martin for a second time before countering with an offer of around £130,000. “That’s too much for me,” Martin commented as his frustrations became evident. “£128,000 is the limit for me and we’ll leave that there.” With the dream home seemingly slipping away, Scarlette managed to win over the owner of the house and Martin landed the property for £128,000. While it was all smiles on-screen, it’s safe to say Channel 4 viewers were annoyed at how Martin was willing to turn away from the stunning property over the £2,000 difference. “For the sake of 2 grand? #aplaceinthesun,” queried one puzzled viewer on Twitter after witnessing the negotiations. “No brainer,” added a second. “Get your bro to do the work in exchange for a free holiday and you got yourself a palace #aplaceinthesun.” “Raging! [angry emoji] #aplaceinthesun,” tweeted a third, while a fourth joked: “I’m phoning right now to offer £129,000. #aplaceinthesun.” However, some fans were quick to congratulate Martin on his purchase, as one added to the debate: “Well done! [applause emoji] #Aplaceinthesun.” A Place in the Sun continues weekdays at 3pm on Channel 4. “We know that Boris Johnson is out on the milk round,” Susanna began. “So we’ve mocked up some.” Piers chipped in: “You’ve lost your bottle Boris. So you haven’t been on here, here’s Jeremy Corbyn, 967 days since we saw him.” “Boris Johnson not seen on Good Morning Britain for 1, 267 days,” Susanna added. Piers concluded: “Missing Boris Johnson. Bottle gone.” Good Morning Britain airs weekdays on ITV at 6am.
“Congresswoman Maxine Waters, an extraordinarily low IQ person, has become, together with Nancy Pelosi, the Face of the Democrat Party,” Trump tweeted out on Monday. “She has just called for harm to supporters, of which there are many, of the Make America Great Again movement. Be careful what you wish for Max!”

Waters (D-California), who is world-famous for her fixation on impeaching Trump and spurious and colorful utterances about Russia, urged a crowd of supporters in Los Angeles on Sunday to “push back on” against Trump administration officials that they may encounter.
“If you see anybody from that Cabinet in a restaurant, in a department store, at a gasoline station, you get out and you create a crowd and you push back on them, and you tell them they’re not welcome anymore, anywhere,” Waters said.

Waters told her supporters to “push out” members of the Trump administration from public spaces. She later repeated the threat on live television.

This is not the first time that Trump has questioned Waters’ IQ – and it is unlikely to be the last.
Waters’ call and Trump’s response come as the Democrats seek to mobilize the public over the Trump administration’s zero-tolerance immigration policy, including the separation of children from their families caught illegally crossing the US border. Though Trump temporarily suspended that policy in an executive order last week, groups of protesters have gone after members of his administration in public places.
Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen and White House adviser Stephen Miller, thought to be the architect of the policy, were confronted at Mexican restaurants in Washington, DC last week. Crowds also protested outside Nielsen’s home.
White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders was kicked out of a restaurant in Virginia on Friday. During the press briefing on Monday, Sanders condemned calls for “hate and vandalism” against the restaurant and urged Americans to keep politics from spilling over into everything.
“Healthy debate on ideas and political philosophy is important, but the calls for harassment and the push for any Trump supporter to avoid the public is unacceptable,” Sanders said.

This is by no means your average SpaceX fan film.
AUSTIN, Texas—”We can’t just come to SXSW with Westworld,” said Jonah Nolan, co-creator of the hit HBO show, within the last 10 minutes of the cast and crew’s South by Southwest conference keynote. “So we have a little something at the end to leave you with a bit of optimism; Westworld isn’t a terribly optimistic show unless you’re a robot.”
Nolan, co-creator Lisa Joy, and the main cast including leads Evan Rachel Wood (Dolores) and Thandie Newton (Mae) had just spent the better part of an hour hyping the show’s upcoming second season. There was sneak peek footage shown that Nolan (unsuccessfully it turns out) pleaded to stay within the room and celebrations of a show that grapples with modern-day themes of female empowerment or the dangers of AI. But then, a moment foreshadowed in a Friday night tweet finally came to fruition.
“As a kid, I spent an unhealthy amount of time thinking about spaceflight,” Nolan began. “I watched Super 8 movies of the Saturn launch, and that seems to have gone away a little bit. I’m passionate about it, but it was our grandparents who went to the moon and we haven’t gone back in our lifetime.

While most of the students who managed to flee the school have been accounted for, the fate of 110 girls remains unknown, and there are fears they might have been taken as brides by the Boko Haram fighters, according to the country’s Ministry of Information.
“The federal government has confirmed that 110 students of the Government Science and Technical College in Dapchi, Yobe State, are so far unaccounted for, after insurgents believed to be from a faction of Boko Haram invaded their school on Monday,” Information Minister Lai Mohammed said in a statement on Sunday.
Families of the missing girls have slammed the government for what they see as a slow response to the crisis. A few officials falsely claimed some of the girls had been rescued.
This could become the worst such incident since 2014, when 276 schoolgirls were kidnapped in Chibok, Borno State (also in north-eastern Nigeria). The notorious incident got worldwide attention and triggered a massive social media campaign Bring Back Our Girls.
On Sunday, Nigerian Air Force spokesman Olatokunbo Adesanya also issued a statement, announcing that the air force was mounting a rescue operation with the “immediate deployment of additional air assets and Nigerian Air Force personnel to the northeast with the sole mission of conducting day and night searches for the missing girls… in close liaison with other surface security forces.”

Boko Haram (roughly meaning ‘Western education is forbidden’) began its terrorist activity in 2009 using both suicide bombings and hit-and-run tactics. Since then, over 20,000 people have been killed and two million forced to flee their homes, while the militant group itself has pledged allegiance to the Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS/ISIL) terrorists. Although both Nigerian and African Union forces have driven Boko Haram from many of its former strongholds, the group remains highly active and launches deadly attacks on both military and civilian targets.

The ITV reality series aired its second episode tonight, but the first segment flew by so quickly that fans were left crest-fallen when the first advert break had already rolled around after just 12 minutes.
To make matters worse, viewers were only treated to one act and the judges chatting about the evening before they were forced to sit through commercials for another five minutes.
First to try and impress the judges in a blind audition was Kade Smith, a 17-year-old window cleaner who joked that he’d dressed similarly to judge Olly Murs with the hope of impressing him.
Kade achieved four turns from the judging panel and decided on the hugely-successful music producer will.i.am to be his mentor, but the all-too-brief performance had fans racing to Twitter to complain.
One person wrote: “One act in and we go to commercial. F**k sake. #TheVoiceUK.”
“#TheVoiceUK #TheVoice one audition, ad break. Great,” another fan said.
A third asked: “One song one ad break – is this the way it’s gonna be? #TheVoiceUK,” followed by: “So #TheVoiceUK has been on 18 minutes and so far we’ve had one singer…”
Viewers continued to share their annoyance at the programme, as one person said: “Hope they are not going to keep putting the adverts on after each and every singer #TheVoiceUK #TheVoice.”
“Twenty minutes in and we’ve heard one audition. At this rate the final will be around Christmas! #TheVoiceUK,” another added.
Later, the episode saw 34-year-old singer Olly get hot-under-the-collar from sizzling female contestant Ivy Paige.
The cabaret and burlesque performer strutted onto stage in a busty red dress and fiery auburn hair, comparing herself to the iconic Who Framed Roger Rabbit? character Jessica Rabbit.
Completely taken aback by the hopeful’s sultry tones and powerful voice, Olly slammed his buzzer before struggling to contain himself in his seat.
As Ivy continued to flirt and tell the presenter that she “wanted him”, Olly even forgot his own name before managing to direct the starlet’s gaze towards the base of his seat.
“Well you have me,” Olly said with a cheeky smile before he suffered a technical blunder. “Oh, my mic has gone.”
“You can share mine,” the contestant brazenly offered, before the show eventually got back to business.
Unimpressed by the seemingly inappropriate exchange, fellow judge Jennifer Hudson took control of the situation, ordering: “Right you get back up there, and you sit down.”

TED, the company made famous for its viral 18-minute talks, has for years been wrestling with sexual harassment at its flagship conference and within the company, The Washington Post reports.
At least five people told TED they’d been harassed or groped during the main TED Conference this past this April, including unwanted advances in a bar and at the conference itself, according to the Post.
Sarah Jacobs/Business Insider
“We were alarmed by what we heard and immediately conducted full investigations to understand the context and impact of what had happened,” TED wrote on its blog in response to the Post story. “As a result, one man was asked to leave the conference immediately, and a second barred. These two men were the source of the five complaints, and will not return to TED.”
According to internal emails obtained by the Post, TED staffers — including Tom Rielly, the organization’s director of partnerships, and Chris Anderson, the director for all of TED — have discussed the claims employees have leveled against other staff.
“I heard from so many women unprompted about the type of advances that were everywhere, and that felt ‘different’ from years past,” Nishat Ruiter, TED’s general counsel, wrote in one of the emails, according to the Post. “This included a TED Prize winner and two TEDsters who spoke to me about this and more than one staff member.”
In the same email thread, Ruiter later relayed complaints she’d gotten from attendees, who’d said they’d been “jumped on” and “grabbed,” according to Ruiter.
TED Senior Fellow Kristen Marhaver, along with Post reporter Colby Itkowitz, wrote on Twitter that they’re familiar with TED’s struggle to address sexual harassment claims.

Inside the TED offices, at least one employee claims to have experienced sexual harassment directly. Jordan Reeves, who worked at TED from 2010 to 2014, wrote in The Huffington Post that an executive had made a lewd comment about Reeves’ genitals at a work party. Reeves, who was on the Office Culture Task Force, went on to explain that coworkers on the team felt harassed in their roles, too.
“We all felt conflicted — do we tell our stories and risk losing our job at TED and the community surrounding TED that we love so much, or do we carry on and deal with it as best we can?” he wrote.
TED has addressed the internal claims, according to its blog post. “For the sake of the individuals mentioned, we don’t think it’s appropriate to address them in public,” the post read.
The stories come as part of an ongoing series of exposés related to harassment in the workplace, sparked by the October news of Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein’s decades of assault. Alabama senatorial candidate Roy Moore and Sen. Al Franken are the latest to face sexual misconduct claims.
At the recent TEDWomen Conference, held in New Orleans, journalist Gretchen Carlson spoke on the ways companies can end sexual harassment at work and what can happen if they don’t.
“Of all the women that reached out to me, almost none are still today working in their chosen profession,” she said. “And that is outrageous.”

Two Stingers teams will travel south to take on the Sharks in the over-45 and the over-35 divisions of the AFL Masters.
The over-35s’ game has long been played for the Chapman Family Cup between the two teams but the over-45s introduced the Jatzy Cup in 2017.
The Jatzy Cup has been named after long-time Stingers footballer Geoff Donnelly who will not play this weekend as he is in hospital.
Cairns have won the trophy — awarded to the city with the superior points aggregate across the over-35 and over-45 games — the past five years at Cardwell.
Stingers coach Gav Moyle says the team will be playing for their mate as well as keeping their impressive winning streak going.
“The Townsville boys have never won it so there is that pressure on us, we will see how we roll,” Moyle said.
“We have brought in Tommy Mooka and Swainey Sagiba who are still very capable players in the AFL Cairns competition.
“They should go well in the Masters.”
Moyle thanked All Lending & Finance for their support of the Cairns Stingers.
The first match kicks off from 2.30pm tomorrow in Cardwell.
Following speculation covering the likes of Adele, Beyonce and even little-known bands, now Noel Gallagher’s name has re-entered the conversation.
The former Oasis star has always been open about wanting to record a track for the spy movie franchise, and now it seems he’s inching closer to his goal.
It seems working with film score producer David Holmes on his latest album has refreshed his inspiration, according to The Sun.
“Noel has wanted to do this for a while, and once he started working with David he saw it as the perfect opportunity to use his experience to finish some ideas he had already,” a source claimed.
“He’s going to put his music forward for sure to be considered.”
It had previously been reported that Gallagher had teamed up with Paul Weller to pen a potential ditty for the movie.
“I want to write a James Bond theme tune,” Weller told the BBC earlier this year.
“I’ve got this half a song that me and Noel Gallagher worked on and I think it would be great for a Bond theme. There’s a bit of minor key going on.
“That would be an ambition definitely.”
The 25th Bond movie, currently untitled, will be Daniel Craig’s last.
It’s confirmed for release in November 2019 in the US, with a UK rollout expected slightly earlier.
