With a summer’s worth of political fodder to choose from, NBC’s Saturday Night Live kicked off its 45th season with President Trump frantically working the phone to find a “fixer” for his impeachment problem. To start with, Trump rang personal attorney Rudy Giuliani, who was more than happy to help deal with any “illegal dealings, cover-ups, or cover-ups of the cover-ups,” he said… while on-camera at CNN. Whoops. Desperate to find a “sacrificial patsy,” Trump next called Mike Pence, but failed to convince his VP that the whole Ukraine thing was his idea. Donald Jr. was a bit more helpful, until Eric blurted out over the open phone line about the whole “treason” thing. New cast member Bowen Yang made his debut as Kim Jong Il, who counseled the U.S. president to silence the whistleblower by …dropping him to the bottom of an ocean. Even POTUS pal Kanye West was of little help, seeing as Don King interrupted to say that, following a meeting of The Black Wackadoodles, they decided Trump was damaging for their brand. After getting a disconcerting pep talk from Fox News’ Jeanine Pirro, Trump phoned fixer Ray Donovan… or, more accurately, actor and onetime SNL host Liev Schreiber, who struggled to explain that Ray is just a fictional character. And while John Wick, too, is fake, Schreiber agreed that Liam Neeson might be up to the task of making Trump’s problem go away. Watch the cold open above, then weigh in with your thoughts on how SNL started the season. While it was a repeat episode of The Chase, many claimed that the clock timer had stopped for longer than one second as Anne gave her final answer to Bradley Walsh, swiping £50,000 from the grasp of player Maggie. Maggie, a 69-year-old retired court usher from Flintshire, was the last player to face Anne and managed to take £50,000 through to the final chase. Creating a total of 18 to beat, Maggie also managed to secure push-backs. However, Anne got an answer wrong, leaving just three seconds for Bradley to ask the final question, and Anne to reply with her answer. Anne managed to answer within the time, but many viewers claimed Bradley had asked the question faster than usual, and that the timer was not accurate. One viewer tweeted: “Once again Bradley spits out a question in 0.2 seconds for the Chaser #TheChase.” “Why does Bradley Walsh always speed up on the last question? SCAM. Maggie gutted for ya! #thechase,” claimed another. A third alleged: “He had 3 seconds to ask the question, the clock stopped at 1 second when she started to answer. What a fix! #TheChase.” “Could bradley have said that last question any quicker??? absolute fix of a programme that #thechase,” raged another. A fifth noted: “#TheChase Bradley speaks much faster for the chasers than the contestants. Listen how fast he gave that question at the end. Maggie was robbed.” “Just watched my first episode of @TheChaseUK complete fix, it has to be….. #thechase,” wrote another. One former contestant posted: “That was brutal! I was gutted when I lost £6K to Shaun with a score of 18… To lose £50K with one second remaining… OUCH! You did amazing Maggie! #TheChase.” This is not the first time the show’s clock has been accused of pausing with one second remaining, with fans complaining at an episode broadcast in March. A spokesperson for The Chase explained at the time: “Anne gave the final correct answer within the time remaining. “The game control system stops the countdown as soon as the correct answer is given. “On this specific example, the clock stopped with one second still showing, giving the appearance that the Chaser had more time to answer but, in fact, the Chaser had already given the correct answer, the clock had been stopped and the team had been caught with one second remaining on the clock. “This was checked and confirmed by an independent adjudicator.” They added: “This was explained to the contestants who accepted and agreed with the decision.” Following her loss, contestant Maggie said: “Well played Anne! I’m no poorer than when I came in.” The 25-year-old Coronation Street actress was competing head-to-head against former I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! star Jake Quickenden, 29, and rugby ace Max Evans, 34, in a bid to be crowned Dancing On Ice champion 2018. However, speaking to Phillip Schofield after the winner was announced as Jake, Brooke teased her rival and took a swipe at him. She laughed: “First the worst, second the best! “Well done to Jake and Vanessa. Are you sure it’s not a fix?” After enjoying the Dancing On Ice afterparty last night, Brooke took to the airwaves this morning to speak out about the “fix” and not winning. Brooke said: “Do you know what? I’m okay. I thought I’d be absolutely gutted! “But my mum and my family and just everyone backstage has just like picked me up every week and swept me up. “It was such a good experience. Last night I just made sure I enjoyed my skates.” The Dancing On Ice runner-up revealed that it has been tricky trying to juggle her Coronation Street schedule with her skating commitments. She said: “You’ve constantly got to be on point with dates and times and where you’ve go to be. “Sometimes I was taking my skates to Roy’s!” Brooke also announced she would not be taking part in the tour after finishing in second place, saying: “I can’t do the tour because of work.” Speaking to Key 103, Brooke added: “My body has changed so much from all the exercising so it’s been fun and fitting as well.” Following her second performance of the night yesterday evening, host Phillip said: “I wish the judges were scoring tonight. “You would have got your tens this week!” Dancing On Ice is available to watch on the ITV hub now.

Looks like the Pixel 2’s “secret” menu button was just leftover code, after all. Google has confirmed to CNET that this was a bug, not a feature, and that it’ll be patched out in the future. If you’re still enjoying that new phone smell, open up the settings menu and double tap in the lower right while you still can.

President Donald Trump tweeted on Wednesday morning saying the 2016 probe into Hillary Clinton’s use of a private email server for her work as Secretary of State was “obviously a fix.”
“Wow, FBI confirms report that James Comey drafted letter exonerating Crooked Hillary Clinton long before investigation was complete,” tweeted Trump.
In a second post, Trump claimed that many people were not interviewed before Comey’s draft. He said the investigation was “obviously a fix” and called on the Justice Department to investigate.
On Monday, the FBI released a heavily redacted version of the letter Comey drafted before interviewing Clinton and other key witnesses in the 2016 probe, confirming earlier reports.
In August, Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley and Sen. Lindsey Graham released a statement saying Comey had “already decided he would issue a statement exonerating Secretary Clinton” before the FBI had interviewed her.
Chris Swecker, a retired FBI assistant director in the criminal investigative division, told Newsweek at the time that Comey’s actions were “so far out of bounds it’s not even in the stadium,” and that it seemed the former director had “prejudged the investigation.”
Comey ultimately concluded that although Clinton had been “extremely careless” by sending top secret information over her private server, she had not committed a criminal act.

In May, Trump fired Comey as the investigation into his campaign’s possible ties to Russia intensified.
Throughout his campaign and presidency, Trump has repeatedly accused the FBI, the media, and the government of being part of a “rigged system.”
Robert Mueller, the special counsel who is leading the FBI’s investigation into Russian election interference, has reportedly expanded the investigation to include determining whether Trump obstructed justice when he fired Comey in May.

The 30-year-old pop star rubbished her previous dancing training in a recent interview, saying that she “danced like an elephant.”
Speaking in a recent interview The Saturdays star said: “People will assume I’ve had formal dance training but I haven’t.”
She went on to say: “When I was in a ballet class aged three they said I danced like an elephant so I played football instead!”
The star added to The Sun: “I’m petrified I will tumble down the stairs on Saturday or forget the routine.”
Her words come as she was partnered with AJ Pritchard in the Strictly Come Dancing launch show over the weekend.
The pair are now hard at work practicing their first dance routine ahead of the live show in two weeks’ time, which will see them taking to the floor as they battle it out with the other celebrities.
Mollie and AJ, 22, appear to be getting well already after she shared a video of herself with the Strictly Come Dancing professional on social media, the pair looked cosy in the snap as they watched the pre-recorded launch together on Saturday.
She captioned the clip: “So we might just be watching this together. Couldn’t be happier! Let’s do this @aj11ace xx #strictly.”
However, the social media post sent fans of the BBC series into meltdown and sparked romance rumours.
So far Mollie is the second favourite to win this year’s series of Strictly Come Dancing with JLS star Aston Merrygold ahead of her in the odds, who is predicted to waltz away with the Glitterball Trophy.
X Factor winner Alexandra Burke is just behind Mollie in third place to be named the champion, according to bookmakers.
Strictly Come Dancing returns to BBC One on September 23.
According to The Sun, the contestant has become embroiled in a “fix row” after posting his professional-looking cakes on Instagram.
The 34-year-old is already a dab hand at what appeared to be illusion cakes – which was set as a task in Tuesday’s episode – if his profile is anything to go by.
Pictures shared with his 2,591 followers show Steven’s amazing offerings, including a lifelike Chanel handbag cake, a minion, a Marvel three-tiered design as well as a towering wedding cake.
Viewers are said to have accused bosses of fixing the tasks in his favour, because he appeared to be in his element during the challenge.
However, with many weeks still to go, it will soon become clear if he is as good in other areas.
“Found my old cake album and remembering some of the early bakes,” Steven captioned one upload.
Later adding of his floral, five-tier white cake: “Wishing my Sarah and Pete a happy 6th anniversary – still my favourite bake to this day.”
It comes just days after Steven blew away Channel 4 judges Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith in the first round.
He won a handshake from the former for his Bonfire Night-inspired bake before creating a cake that looked like a loaf of bread in the final show-stopper.
Prue told Steven: “Absolutely astonishing, you wouldn’t think that wasn’t bread would you?”
Express.co.uk has contacted a representative for The Great British Bake Off asking for comment.
The Great British Bake Off continues Tuesday at 8pm on Channel 4.
The 6ft 7in chaser was asked a question about his previous quiz show experience, causing a hopeful contestant to be forced out of the game.
Presenter Bradley Walsh didn’t let the coincidence go unnoticed, and even challenged the Beast for trying to change the show rules.
The 56-year-old host said: “Before the break, I actually asked Gillian the question ‘Which of these shows was broadcast first on UK TV?’ Play Your Cards Right, The Price Is Right, and The People’s Quiz. The correct answer is Play Your Cards Right.
“Now if the beast has put Play Your Cards Right – which has always been Bruce – you’re out! Chaser has put… I can’t believe that.”
Knocking player Gillian out of the game with the correct answer, Bradley said to Mark: “That’s unbelievable.”
Mark said: “Play Your Cards Right was 1980, Price Is Right 1984, and The People’s Quiz 2007.
“And I know, because guess who was the runner up on that show?” prompting Bradley to ask: “Was it you?”
Mark replied: “Yes,” as Bradley looked shocked and said: “I can’t believe we’ve gone out on that question!”
One viewer tweeted: “That is so unfair, having a question which the Chaser was a part of the answer. #thechase.”
“Poor Gillian. Her questions were harsh but I knew this one. Mark will get it right. #TheChase #GangOfChase,” posted another, as a third wrote: “#thechase this is a fix too many winners recently now the questions are harder @BradleyWalsh.”
Later in the game, Mark tried to change the show’s rules, telling Bradley: “If I had been evil, I’d have been tempted to say ‘I tell you what, before we reveal the answer, I’ll offer you £2,000 to go through now and see if I could save myself 2,000 quid.”
Bradley then said: “That would be interesting… if it was a concept at all,” before looking at Mark disapprovingly and shaking his head.
After a post by Rowan Ellis, many people recently noticed that YouTube’s Restricted Mode filter consistently blocked videos containing LGBTQ+ related content. Despite tweeting that it is supposed to only filter mature content, users tracked down selections like this Tegan & Sarah video that were blocked despite being incredibly tame. In a blog post tonight, YouTube VP Johanna Wright stated that “we must and will do a better job.”
The exec admitted that “…this feature isn’t working the way it should. We’re sorry and we’re going to fix it.” While claiming that only 1.5 percent of traffic comes with Restricted Mode turned on, Wright also said that as a matter of principle, access to “important content and different points of view” should be allowed. YouTube has already manually unblocked a few videos where the system made “mistakes in understanding context and nuances,” but she also writes that it will take time to roll out more changes.

Tanya has already had a brief brush with the limelight after writing one of the Black Eyed Peas star’s biggest hits, The Hardest Ever, and supporting Bruno Mars.
After teasing that he “knew” which contestant he was going to pinch from one of his judges all along, the star shocked absolutely nobody when he pressed his shiny white button for Tanya.
Even Jennifer Hudson, 35, shrieked: “I knew it, I knew it.”
And it turned out she wasn’t the only one, as the audience at suggested the swipe had been planned from the get-go.
“That was so predictable #thevoiceuk did #TeamGavin and #teamwill agree on this before the show?” asked one fan, as another sighed: “That was pretty much predictable @iamwill considering she wrote one of your song #TheVoiceUK.”
One more cried: “What an absolute fix!!!!!!!!!!!!”
A fourth hissed: “You just knew Will would steal – she was THE one, Will,” before one more: “Can’t work out how this isn’t slightly ‘fixed’. If Jennifer ‘steals’ now there’ll be no point in the rest of tonight’s show.”
The allegations come after last year’s coach Paloma Faith, 35, confirmed that she and Ricky Wilson, 39, planned their steals together ahead of the Battle round.
Paloma dropped eventual winner Kevin Simm from her team in a shock move, which she admitted was agreed with the Kaiser Chiefs singer ahead of the show.
“Ricky and I agreed beforehand that he would take Kevin,” she told the Mirror. “I sent Kevin an email afterwards to tell him I thought he could win the whole competition and to explain that I knew he’d be saved.”
Express.co.uk has contacted a The Voice spokesperson for comment on this story.
