It’s been some journey for Woods over the past 12 months and he has marked his return to form by winning his first PGA Tour event since 2013.

Woods was still recovering from spinal fusion surgery this time last year with even the most ardent fans pessimistic about seeing the golf legend return to his best.

A promising performance at the Hero World Challenge in November – finishing ninth – gave hope to those hoping to see Woods return to former glory.

But nobody could have foreseen the campaign the 42-year-old has undergone in 2018.

He began the year ranked No 656 but soon shot up the rankings after finished tied-second at the Valspar Championships before a fifth-placed finish at the Arnold Palmer Invitational.

He rolled back the years at the Masters, donning his famous Sunday red and carded a 69.

Missing the cut at the US Open threatened to de-rail his campaign but returned weeks later by finishing tied-fourth at the Quicken Loans National.

The 14-time major champion got everyone out of their seats at The Open Championships as he held the lead on the final day, only to fall heartbreakingly short.

Tiger Frenzy was in full force at the PGA Championship though as he shot his lowest final round ever in a major.

It wasn’t enough to claim his first win on the Tour in five years, finishing two shots back from Brooks Koepka.

But fans were confident of seeing him finally reach win number 80.

And it finally came in Woods’ final PGA tour event of the season at East Lake.

As the winning moment drew nearer on Sunday, Woods  admitted his emotions almost got the better of him.

“I was having a hard time not crying,” Woods said.

“I just can’t believe I pulled this off. It’s been tough.

“I’ve had a not so easy last couple years.”

Workhorse Group, the electric vehicle startup working on everything from a plug-in hybrid pickup truck to a prototype replacement delivery truck for the U.S. Postal Service, has teamed with a New York-based company to deliver its first zero-emissions hydrogenfuel cell delivery van to FedEx.

Workhorse built the class 5 E-GEN delivery van, which is charged by a ProGen hydrogen engine made by Latham, N.Y.-based fuel cell manufacturer Plug Power. The van is already in service at the FedEx facility in Menands, N.Y., near Albany, on a standard delivery route and has been run in weather including rain and snow. It refuels using Plug Power’s hydrogen fueling station in nearby Latham, reportedly one of the first of its kind on the entire East Coast, and boasts a driving range of more than 160 miles per delivery cycle, which Plug Power says is a 166 percent increase over standard battery-electric power alone.

Plug Power offers few details about ProGen except to say it’s a suite of modular fuel-cell engines are “flexible power building blocks” designed for electric vehicle platforms. The new FCEV has accumulated more than 3,000 on-road miles in testing and is expected to accumulate more than 27,000 miles of driving in the first six months. It’s designed to save fleet operators money on fuel and other operational costs, reducing the total costs of ownership over time.

In a release, Plug Power CEO Andy Marsh said the collaboration with Workhorse and FedEx “is the beginning of a hydrogen transformation in the delivery van industry. Opportunities to provide on-road customers with business-improving power solutions, as we have in our collaboration with FedEx, builds on our significant experience transforming the way our clients in the material handling industry do business.” The companies were also assisted by the U.S. Department of Energy’s Fuel Cell Technologies Office through their support of early stage research and development work.

Commercial vehicles seem to be a newer focus for Plug Power, which has focused mostly on forklifts and mobile power solutions to date.

We most recently heard from Workhorse, meanwhile, when it launched the N-Gen, an electric delivery van with an optional range extender and delivery drone. It’s also working with UPS to develop an all-new electric delivery van with a 100-mile driving range.

Prior to that, it opened up reservations for its new W-15 plug-in hybrid pickup truck, which will have an expected starting price of $ 52,500 and be eligible for a $ 7,500 federal tax credit for electric vehicles. That truck, which has an 80-mile electric driving range, is expected to start deliveries to fleet operators late in 2018 and to regular customers in 2019.

Passports, driver licenses, and other sensitive documentation for thousands of FedEx customers were left online, possibly for years, in a blunder that left the information available to identity thieves and other malicious actors, researchers said Thursday.

In all, Kromtech Security Center said, researchers found 119,000 scanned documents stored in a publicly available Amazon S3 bucket. The photo ID scans were accompanied by completed US Postal Service forms that included names, home addresses, and phone numbers of people who requested to have mail delivered by an authorized agent.

“Citizens from all over the world left their scanned IDs—Mexico, Canada, EU countries, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Japan, Malaysia, China, Australia—to name a few,” Kromtech researchers wrote.

Amazon’s plans to take on UPS and FedEx are reportedly coming to fruition. According to a report by The Wall Street Journal, the online retailer’s new shipping service, named “Shipping with Amazon” (SWA), will roll out in Los Angeles in the coming weeks. With SWA, Amazon will pick up packages from businesses and ship them to customers, relying almost entirely on Amazon’s shipping infrastructure.

Aside from first starting in LA, SWA will first serve third-party merchants that already sell on Amazon. The company plans to send drivers to pick up shipments from these businesses and deliver the packages for them. While shipping and delivery will mostly go through Amazon, anything outside of the retailer’s reach will be given to the USPS and other shipping services for the “last mile” portion of the delivery.

In the future, Amazon reportedly wants to open up SWA to businesses that aren’t affiliated with the site—meaning Amazon could ship and deliver packages from companies of all sizes. Amazon also believes it can compete with UPS and FedEx by making SWA more affordable for business customers, but its pricing structure hasn’t been revealed.

Restaurant patrons got far more than they bargained for when a FedEx cargo truck came hurtling through the eatery’s window at dinner time Tuesday.

Diners at the Renaissance Los Angeles Airport Hotel at 9620 Airport Blvd. were enjoying some tasty cuisine when the crash happened. A total of three people, including the truck driver, his passenger and a third person, were injured in the crash.

The driver declined to be removed by ambulance but two others were taken to hospital for evaluation by the Los Angeles Fire Department.

Schauffele, 23 in just his 30th event on Tour captured a second Tour title this year with a dramatic three-foot birdie at the last in a 68 for a one-stroke 12-under winning tally on the East Lake course.

“This year has just been a wild ride as I somehow managed to wrange my way from last week into the Tour Championship and it has been like I have been weasling my way around all year,” he said.

“So, to stand here and hold the Tour Championship trophy is a real honour.”

Thomas scooped golf’s biggest single cash prize and the PGA Tour No. 1 crown thanks to a sizzling 66 to be second at 11-under tally.

Thomas had began the 2016/17 wraparound schedule winning the CIMB Classic in Malaysia and then returned from the Christmas break to win back-to-back in Hawaii, and in an effort that included shooting a 59 on day one of the Hawaiian Open.

The 24-year old missed the cut at Royal Birkdale but weeks later stormed through the Quail Hollow field courtesy of a closing 63 to capture the PGA Championship.

Then in the second of the four Play-Off Series events, Thomas shot closing scores of 63 and 66 to win the Dell Technologies in Boston.

“It’s just huge and it’s awesome just because I feel like I played so well this year,” said Thomas.

“I was consistent. I mean, a lot of great weeks and great memories even. Life-changing events that just kind of ended with another kind of life-changing thing for me. To just have my name on the trophy with the rest of those guys is pretty awesome.

“I was just trying to win the golf tournament and to win the FedEx Cup is a huge bonus and to now have won $ 10m is a weird feeling, as it didn’t come from winning the golf tournament.”

Open Champion, , who went into the event heading the FedEx title, also saw his double victory quest end in signing for a 67 that included holing his second shot for eagle at the 10th for a share of seventh place at seven-under.

It meant Spieth ending the year as the Tour’s No. 2.

“My 2017 year has been a great season and if I could repeat it every year then I would be certainly happy but I just fell short today but it was a fun battle,” he said.

“And the way Justin (Thomas) has played this year, with a Major and four other wins he richly deserves the title.”

Sadly, Paul Casey had to wait to the final hole of the last event of the 2016/17 season for a first birdie but only after four earlier bogeys in a closing 73 for a share of 

Casey failed to secure a single birdie in posting a closing equal-highest last day 74 and fade into a share of fifth place at nine-under.

The Englishman went into the last round leading by two shots at 12-under par but after bogeys at four, five and nine all hopes dried-up of just a second Tour title in eight-years when he found the water at 16 also for bogey.

Justin Rose also found little joy in also birding the last in a round of 69 for a six-under par tally and share of 10th.
