While the X Factor UK may not have aired on ITV this year, it hasn’t stopped head judge and music mogul Simon Cowell making waves in the franchise overseas. That’s because today, Simon announced he’d be joining the line-up of judges for the fourth season of the singing contest in Israel.
In a statement obtained by Deadline, Simon expressed his excitement at the new role.
“Over the years The X Factor format discovered amazing talents from all over the world,
“I can’t wait to see what Israel have to offer.”
It’s the first mention of a return to work from Simon following back surgery earlier this year after an electric bike accident.

“Simon controls it – when does he want it to come back and how does he want it to come back? And hopefully, we can be part of that.”
Nevertheless, X Factor fans in Israel were quick to weigh in with their thoughts on Simon’s appointment.
One excited fan said on Twitter: “WEBSITES IN ISRAEL SAYING THAT SIMON COWELL IS GOING TO BE JUGDE IN X FACTOR HERE WTF JEUFURJFBWBXBS.”
“Simon Cowell we love you in Israel welcome! @SimonCowell,” a second added.
X Factor Celebrity has featured a host of famous faces try their hand at singing on Simon Cowell’s latest show. This evening, as Simon found two of his acts, V5 and No Love Lost, in the bottom two, he left viewers confused as he hinted they could both stay in the competition.
This evening saw No Love Lost, a group made up of four 2018 Love Island contestants, eliminated from the competition, as Louis Walsh and Nicole Scherzinger voted to save the other group in the bottom two, V5.
For the first time in the competition, there was a sing-off between the two acts with the lowest votes, as the two groups went head to head to fight for a place in next week’s show.
Nicole and Louis opted to save V5, which meant Simon’s vote would not have changed the result.
However, In a shock turn of events, he appeared to introduce a change to the rules live on air, after one of his groups was voted out.

“How many rules does @simoncowell need to make up on the spot? He’s ad-libbing this whole thing. #XFactor #CelebrityXFactor,” asked one confused viewer.
Another shared: “What’s the bet Simon has only just come up with this vote for bringing someone back just because both his acts are in the bottom 2? Yes it’s his show, but the format manipulation every 5 minutes is terrible. No wonder it’s failing. #XFactor #XFactorCelebrity”
“Simon making the rules up as the show progresses is embarrassing. Each week is another nail in the coffin. #XFactorCelebrity #XFactor,” tweeted a third.
“Simon just bends the rules to suit his acts #XFactor,” decided another.
A fifth angered viewer stated: “The X Factor is a mess. @ITV NEED to axe it now. Simon Cowell is the problem and is the reason why there’s only 3 million people watching. #XFactorCelebrity #XFactor
It comes after it was revealed that X Factor Celebrity had been suffering from low ratings.
Telly Mix reported that only 3.5 million viewers tuned in for the first live show on October 26th, and has struggled as its rival Strictly Come Dancing has been getting far greater figures.
This week, it was also revealed that the X Factor: All Stars format, which was meant to air this year, had been scrapped.
The show, which was to feature successful contestants from the past, was dropped, as Simon last week announced his new show plan X Factor: The Band
There have also been rumours that the backstage team has been changed in an attempt to try and reignite the show.
A source told The Daily Star: “It’s not uncommon for creative teams to change throughout a series run. And that means making tough decisions.”
Who will prove a hit with the judges and viewers as the show continues next weekend?
The X Factor: Celebrity returns next Saturday at 8.20pm on ITV
The Islanders are made up of personalities from ITV hit show, Love Island however, X Factor presenter Dermot O’Leary recently revealed that the group has officially changed their name.
The former Islander are made up of Wes Nelson, Eyal Brooker, Samira Mighty and Zara McDermott who all impressed fans with their version of Shawn Mendes’ ‘There’s Nothing Holding Me Back’.
Before viewers got comfortable with the group name, it was changed just days before the live shows.
X Factor presenter Dermot revealed the group’s new name in an interview with BBC Radio One’s Nick Grimshaw yesterday.
Dermot said to Nick: “I think today they’ve changed their name. Is it No Love Lost?”

The tweet said: “The artist formerly known as The Love Islanders are pleased to announce their new name*drum roll* No Love Lost! Much love to everyone who sent in name suggestions!”
Fans seemed to have mixed feelings about the name as one Twitter user wrote: “ That’s so cheesy lol, but it kinda works. #XFactorCelebrity”
Another commented: “I don’t know if I like it.”
“Can think of a better name….. Love them guys but they were the worst apart from the Hoff’s daughter,” another fan added.
The first episode featured a clip of the group where they revealed that they bonded with each other from their time in the villa.
“Prior to Love Island, if you had asked me what was my dream job, it would have been a singer,” Wes told viewers.
The reason the group was formed because they “got on so well” and “because of the camaraderie”, they said.
They were the first ones to sing to the judges and they pulled it off very well.
Judge Simon Cowell said: “For a first audition, bearing in mind where you came from, it was a good performance but it’s finding your distinct sound.”
“It was so good,” Nicole Scherzinger added.
Judge Louis Walsh was also impressed as he said “it was really good.”
There’s no doubt about the group’s vocal ability and chemistry but will they be able to impress the viewers in the live shows?
X Factor Celebrity will air tomorrow at 8.20pm on ITV.
Elsewhere on the instalment, fans were a little bemused by Megan McKenna’s inclusion on the show.
The former TOWIE star has previously had a record contract, but is taking part in the X Factor: Celebrity for another.
What’s more, she performed a song off an album she had previously released, meaning viewers weren’t happy.
X Factor: Celebrity continues Saturday on ITV at 8.20pm.

The latest judges to head up The X Factor panel were mainstay Simon Cowell and newcomers Ayda and Robbie Williams along with Louis Tomlinson in 2018.
However, Louis and Nicole will be returning according to The Sun.
The publication reports that the two are returning for the third time, having been twice left off the ITV judging panel in the past.
The report also suggests the panel will consist of just three members as it was when the show started out with Louis, Simon and Sharon Osbourne.
Louis and Nicole were both last judges on the programme during the 2017 series.
Ayda and Robbie announced they would not be coming back to The X Factor for another turn as judges this year.
Ayda posted a snap of herself and her husband to Instagram in April where she explained why.
She wrote: “A quick update from Team Williams… it’s been a very busy year so far and Vegas has been incredible – we cannot wait for June and July to do it all again.
“We’ve got some very big announcements coming soon – but we can’t reveal all yet. Sadly as it’s impossible to do everything, we’re gutted to tell you we won’t be able to return to The X Factor this year.
“We will, however, be working on projects with Simon going forward – and as huge fans of the show, we will still be tuning into The X Factor, voting and winding Simon up! AWxx.”
It comes as Simon announced there would be a format shake-up for the 2019 edition of the contest.
Instead of members of the public competing for a record deal, celebrities will take to the mic to wow the judges.
There has been no word on who is signing up to the programme but there have been plenty of rumours.
The Only Way Is Essex star and country singer Megan McKenna has been hotly tipped to star as has fellow reality alumni Gemma Collins.
Actor and presenter John Barrowman has also expressed an interest in taking part as he told Metro: “I’d love to do it.
“It’s one of those things where if I’m asked I’d do it, like anything, I’d do it at the drop of a hat as long as I know I’m gonna have fun doing it.”
It has also been suggested there will be an all-star version of the competition.
“The time feels right, and it will be a huge change,” Simon told The Sun.
“We haven’t exactly confirmed the dates or the order of the shows, but essentially there are going to be two versions of X Factor running this year.
“I think it’s going to be huge, it’s the best I’ve felt about this show in years.”
The X Factor is expected to return to ITV later this year.
Loneliness is a big factor in getting good nutrition, say experts in the field of senior health.

The X Factor 2018 has reached the first stage of the finals, and tonight the three remaining acts will take to the stage in hope of winning the public’s vote and making it through to tomorrow night’s grand final results show.
However, after months of speculation, it seems former judge Sharon Osbourne, 66, will be returning to the show for the occasion.
It comes after head judge Simon Cowell, 56, revealed he had invited Mrs O to the live shows.
During a conversation with This Morning earlier this week, Simon explained how he had been in contact with Sharon.
Lizzie Cundy, 48, who was conducting the interview, asked the music mogul: “We’ve got to talk about some of your ex-judges, Sharon Osbourne, who is being a bit vocal shall we say, the ratings weren’t so good this time round.
“What would you say in return?”
“Sharon makes me laugh,” Simon began.
“I had a conversation with her a few weeks ago, because she did one interview and she thought I was going to be mad.
“But I was actually laughing when I phoned her. And I said: ‘You were gobby when you first came on the show, you’re still gobby so I can’t be mad!’
“And by the way you can still come to the finals and she was like, ‘Oh OK’.
“I’ve learnt, when I say something about her family, I did it once or twice, it was like, ‘Woah,’ so I treat it as fun now,” Simon explained.
Tonight, Simon’s act, Scarlett Lee alongside Dalton Harris and Anthony Russell, both in Louis Tomlinson category, will fight for a recording contract.
But more importantly, fans will be wondering whether there will be a guest appearance from Sharon.
Nevertheless, it seems there is no bad blood between Simon and Sharon despite her not being on the judging panel for this year’s series.
X Factor fans were surprised when Simon decided it was time for an overhaul in judges.
The series saw Robbie Williams, 44, Ayda Field, 39, and Louis Tomlinson, 27, make their debut.
And for those that have enjoyed the 2018 shows, they will be pleased to know all three will be coming back for the next series.
It will cost us a lot of money, but yes,” Simon confirmed.
X Factor 2018 final airs tonight at 7.30pm on ITV.
This year of the X Factor has already seen its share of drama and the ITV reality competition has had to make the best of the twists and turns along the way.
For one thing, Ayda Field’s act Danny Tetley has struggled with a throat infection and lost his voice earlier on during the live shows.
Judges Simon Cowell and Robbie Williams have been absent during training at various points, while the latter will be missing his third live show in a row this weekend due to previously scheduled tour appearances in South America.
What’s more, a technical difficulty two weeks ago also threw the entire show into chaos as bosses were forced to halt the public vote after Danny and fellow contestant Anthony Armstrong suffered from “robot” voices and a message was flashed across the screen.
Now though, the show could be set to face its biggest problem yet if the remaining acts are too ill to perform during tomorrow night’s live show, which will see legend Nile Rodgers replacing Robbie on the panel.
According to reports, the contestants are currently unable to speak, let alone practise their songs for the all-important next phase of the competition.
A source told The Sun Online: “Flu has swept through the house and the majority of contestants are now ill.
“They’re all on vocal rest and can’t rehearse at all.”
“They all know this weekend is incredibly important in the competition,” the insider added. “So it’s the worst timing for them all to fall ill.”
Express.co.uk has contacted a representative at X Factor for comment.
There are currently eight contestants remaining in the reality series, and despite the issues the show has undergone over the weeks, they are more hopeful than ever.
Brendan Murray, Dalton Harris, Bella Penfold, Scarlett Lee, Shan, A Star, Anthony Russell and Danny Tetley are all hoping to wow the panel and viewers at home.
Following a huge revamp to the show’s format this year, which saw former One Direction star Louis Tomlinson join Ayda, Robbie and Simon on the panel, ratings continues to be on a steady decline.
According to ex-X Factor judge Sharon Osborne, 66, the reason for the show’s continuous declining viewer ratings is because of head judge and music mogul Simon.
She has claimed his constant need to “change up” the show’s format is the reason for the dip.
Sharon told The Sun: “Unfortunately, not out of malice, but I am only saying this because Simon’s quote thinks it is funny.
“The figures have dropped, and dropped and dropped through the course of the show.
“I am not saying it was all me at all, but (it’s because of) his decision to change the show again and again and again.”
The X Factor’s first ever series back in 2004 pulled in a steady 9.7million people on average, while this year has seen a peak of 5.5million people tuning in.
The X Factor is back on screens with the latest Live Show tonight (November 10) at 8.30pm. Last week saw Molly Scott and United Vibe eliminated after they failed to impress the judges. Now just 10 acts remain in the competition. One of whom is singer Scarlett Lee.
Scarlett Lee has proven herself to be a popular contestant on this year’s X Factor on ITV.
The makeup artist is aged 20 and from Surrey.
Like her fellow competitor Anthony Russell, Scarlett auditioned for the series in 2017 and made it through to the first round and on through to the Six Chair Challenge when she was sent home by former judge Sharon Osbourne.
Fans may remember Scarlett and her unique fake tan look she sported on the show last year.
This year she is in the Girls category mentored by Simon Cowell.
Scarlett said that being eliminated last year was “heartbreaking”.
“It was heartbreaking, it took me so long to get over but it’s only made me stronger,” she said at this year’s auditions.
“I hope Simon looks back and says ‘This girl has improved’… probably not, he’ll probably say ‘That’s the orange girl!’”
On returning to the competition this year, Scarlett has managed to impress the judges with her strong vocals, despite a shaky start in her first live audition.
After Simon told her to sing another song, she chose Never Enough from The Greatest Showman and got four messes.
Simon said at the time: “You are an amazing singer, it was magic. I’d love to be mentoring you on this show.”
In her personal life, Scarlett and her family had a lucky escape when their caravan burned down last month.
Scarlett Lee’s brother Benjamin, his wife Sharon and their four young children were lucky to be alive following the incident.
Scarlett was in the neighbouring caravan and damaged her eye trying help get the others out.
She has since struck up a friendship with former X Factor constant Jesy Nelson from Little Mix.
Last week for Fright Night, Scarlett delivered a showstopping performance of I Put A Spell on You by Screamin’ Jay Hawkins.
After a standing ovation from all four judges, Simon praised his new protege.
“That was the best performance you’ve done throughout the competition,” he said.
“You’re a total, total star – amazing.”
Louis Tomlinson said that everything about her performance was “brilliant” and Ayda Field said it was her best performance yet.
Bookmakers believe that Scarlett is in with a good chance of winning The X Factor this year.
Ladbrokes have the singer at odds of 4/1 to take home the top prize, one spot behind Dalton Harris at 11/10 odds.
Betfair also place Scarlett at 4/1 odds of winning.
