Fans have been waiting on new episodes of Rick and Morty since the irreverent animated comedy finished its fourth season last May. Though Adult Swim have yet to confirm release dates for season five, with episodes also expected to hit Hulu and Netflix, an update from writer Alex Rubens has suggested the return could happen much sooner than expected. One of Rick and Morty’s main writers has just revealed work has already started on the popular sci-fi cartoon’s seventh season. The new update came as a shock for many fans, who still haven’t seen a single episode of the animated comedy’s fifth instalment. Rubens took to Twitter with the announcement, which was met with a fair share of disbelief from his followers. He wrote: “Am I allowed to say we started writing Rick and Morty Season 7? (If not we didn’t and I’m not).” READ MORE: Rick and Morty: Dan Harmon shares exciting update on season five The seventh season would be the fourth of a projected seven-season renewal after Adult Swim ordered 70 more episodes over an unknown number of instalments in May 2018. With each season consisting of ten episodes, other than Rick and Morty’s 11-episode debut, the popular adult animation could run until its tenth season. On Reddit, one fan quipped: “Can’t wait to watch it when it comes out in 4 years.” News of Rick and Morty’s production being at least two seasons ahead of schedule certainly comes as a surprise as the series has become infamous for taking lengthy breaks between new episodes. Most major television and film productions were hit hard by coronavirus delays last year. Thankfully, animation is one medium that can still run smoothly when the staff are confined to their homes, so Rick and Morty fans shouldn’t expect any further delays. Still, production on the most recent instalments took almost two years, with a long break in between two blocks of five episodes in season four causing further frustration amongst fans. Though Adult Swim have yet to confirm, Rubens and Harmon’s optimistic updates have suggested season five could premiere as early as this year. Sharing another update at last year’s convention, Harmon added: “Immediately after this panel, I’ll be going and reviewing an animatic for a late season five episode. “And yet, we are very late [in the process of] writing season six. “I’m looking at finales for both seasons and then also refining the finale of one and then the premiere of the other. So I can’t remember the differences.” Hopefully Rick and Morty’s team can polish the final pieces of season five over the coming months and yet another painful wait for new content can come to an end soon. Rick and Morty seasons 1-4 are available to stream on Netflix.

The popular Channel 4 show which initially began by following Dick and Angel Strawbridge trade their two-bed apartment in Essex for a dilapidated 19th-century French chateau has become one of the channels top-rated shows. Six years since they took the plunge to transform their lives and start a new business venture, it seems the dynamic duo is not slowing down – in fact, they have secured a major two-year programming deal with the broadcaster.
Six years ago, Dick and Angel stumbled upon Chateau de la Motte Husson, a 45-room, five-story French castle which was in need of some tender loving care following years of neglect.
Initially, it wasn’t easy starting a new life and embarking on the mammoth project of restoring the property and it’s land, but with each series, Dick and Angel have had more and more success.
As a result, Escape to the Chateau has seen an average of 2.5million viewers tune in weekly to get their fix.
The latest series of the show was the best performing, reaching a whopping 3.1million viewers.

But UK viewers are not the only ones turning in, Escape to the Chateau is an international hit which has sold to 42 territories, including Australia, South Africa, Sweden, USA, Canada and China.
If viewers thought running a weddings and functions business from the Chateau wasn’t enough on top of re-establishing every room in the castle, Dick and Angel took on a spin-off series.
Escape to the Chateau DIY sees the husband and wife help other people who have decided to transform their lives and other historic buildings.
Following on from this, Channel 4 thought Angel and Dick had even more to offer, and Escape to the Chateau: Make Do and Mend was created.
He said: “Angel and Dick are hugely popular as was seen by the reaction to Make, Do and Mend and the record-breaking figures for Escape to the Chateau at the end of 2020.
“They are jewels in the Channel 4 crown and it’s been an exhilarating ride helping them grow over the last 2 years.”
Lizi Wootton, Head of Popular Factual at Two Rivers, said there is a “huge opportunity” to grow the success of the Chateau brand on-screen even further.
Since the original concept was created back in 2014, Dick and Angel have been involved with every aspect of development and production.
“We are excited to be at the start of what we hope will be a long and successful relationship with Two Rivers, one of the most exciting indies in the UK sector at the moment,” Dick and Angel said.
“We first started working with Lizi when Escape to the Chateau was little more than an idea, so it’s terrific to be collaborating again on these series and growing our creative relationship.”
As for the plans Dick and Angel have for the Chateau, they said the house is always “evolving”.
“Things are being moved around to how they were always meant to be and we have endless outbuildings.”
But when everything is done around the property, will they consider taking on a new project?
“I’ve got no intention of going anywhere,” Dick told Hello! magazine. “I’m going to be planted here. I get a headache even thinking about moving.”
Escape to the Chateau is available to watch on 4oD.
Good Morning Britain stars Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid sometimes take extended breaks from the programme, which allows other hosts such as Ben Shephard and Kate Garraway to take the reins of the ITV breakfast show. The pair last took some time off during the summer holidays and on Wednesday morning’s show, Piers told viewers they would be having some much-needed time away for the half-term period, admitting he was “excited” about the break.
The pair came back from an advertisement break early on in today’s show clearly having something to smile about.
And Piers told viewers what they were looking so pleased about: “We’ve been having a laugh, slightly happy.
“We’ve got half term off, really exciting,” Piers announced, of himself and Susanna.
And of his plans, the host said: “I’m going to move from the sofa downstairs to upstairs.”

“You’ve got a two-week circuit breaker from us,” Susanna joked to viewers.
And Piers soon reassured those watching at home they wouldn’t be away from the show for too long.
Piers continued: “Yes! The good news is – I know you’ll be missing us – we’ll be back for the US election week.
“And we’re going to be there all week, all five days,” before Susanna clarified they wouldn’t be heading to the US itself.
Piers continued: “The reason we’re coming in all week is, I don’t think it’s going to be all over on the first night.
“I think we’re going to…” with Susanna noting: “Hillary Clinton was planning that big glass ceiling celebration.”
And of course, Piers gave his verdict on Hillary, adding: “In her head, she’d already won, that’s why she lost.”
Elsewhere in the show, things were plunged into chaos when a mouse invaded the studio.
The hosts revealed they had spotted a mouse during one commercial break, which caused a bit of a stir.
And later on, Piers was able to show viewers the creature live on camera.
“We’ve got a sighting… there it is,” the host said, with the camera moving around to follow the creature.
Piers couldn’t help but use the incident to make a dig at BBC Breakfast host Dan Walker, asking his co-stars if they should name the mouse after him.

Fans were sent into a frenzy when the third episode of season seven finally saw Daenerys and Jon meet for the first time.

“What was really exciting was that first scene when Jon walks into the Dragonstone throne room and sees her for the first time.

Everyone knows Hulk is rather fond of the occasional “smash” at any time. So it was a shock when he refused to come out and play during Infinity war, leaving Bruce to fend for himself. When and how Hulk would ever return has been one of the biggest mysteries going into Endgame. Even the current Avengers 4 marketing has been very careful to only show the man, not the (not very) jolly green giant on posters and in trailers. Until now.
It was never in doubt Hulk would show up but there have been increasing rumours (and hopes) he might transform into the popular Professor Hulk incarnation.
A leaked promo poster from last year showed a far more human-looking Hulk, which matches the comicbook variation.
Now the Marvel website has unveiled a new range of Endgame figurines which include the Hulk.
AVENGERS ENDGAME DIRECTORS REVEAL ‘DESTRUCTION’ WHICH WILL CHANGE MCU FOREVER
The description reads: “The Avengers line-up may have been decimated in Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Infinity War – but that doesn’t mean we’re lacking in incredible collectables based on the survivors! Thanks to Diamond Select Toys, we can celebrate the characters continuing the good fight in Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Endgame with a variety of statues and action figures.
“Ant-Man, Iron Man MK85, and a deluxe Hulk will kick off the action as parts of the nine-inch-scale Marvel Movie Gallery Avengers: Endgame PVC Diorama line.”
Fans will be thrilled to see the Jade Giant suited up and flexing his muscles in battle once more.
Fans will also notice the very clear grey hairs at his temples.
This will feed into ongoing speculation there is a time-jump between Avengers 3 and 4.
Welcome back, big guy, we missed you.

It’s hard to see how fans could get any more excited at this stage. However, it is good to remember that the incredible Russos are also still able to geek out and have a moment, too. As the biggest film in Marvel history (and potentially modern cinema) looms ever closer, the dynamic directing duo are busy putting the finishing touches to the final movie in the MCU Phase Three. They just revealed that one major component is now locked in.
Joe and Anthony posted a happy picture of them standing with Marvel boss and another important figure.
Alan Silvestri is the composer responsible for the iconic Avengers theme and the soundtracks to Infinity War and the first Avengers and Captain America movies. Not only that, he is the man who scored all three Back To The Future Movies, Forrest Gump and Who Framed Roger Rabbit.
He has also been working on Avengers Endgame and the Russos can’t contain their excitement at what he has created to bring the saga home.
AVENGERS ENDGAME LEAK CLAIMS TONY STARK WILL HAVE A TERRIBLE FATE AND FANS ARE NOT HAPPY
The Russos tweeted: “One of the greatest highlights of our career was getting to work with Alan Silvestri. The Endgame score is complete…”
As has been previously revealed, this confirms the film itself is also a lock, since a soundtrack can’t be finished until the film has had its final cut. There may still be some SFX finishing touches to do, but it looks like Endgame really has entered its end game. And now we’re getting ridiculously excited all over again.
So, how long is the final cut and when will tickets go on sale?

The Russo have confirmed the film will be at least three hours long but some reports have claimed it could be up to 195 minutes.
Cinema chains in the US have started sending out teasers to fans advising them to watch out for text alerts, but UK fans will have to keep scouring press and online sites for announcements and updates.

Plenty is being done to support the PlayStation VR by Sony for their PS4 games library.
New titles are in the works for the virtual reality experience, some of which can only be played on the PlayStation hardware.
Sony’s PS4 VR has managed to carve out a niche in the market, not through its technical prowess but because of its price point and game collection.
The PSVR could have been part of a fleeting phase, but Sony has managed to make it a firm piece of hardware that fans can look forward to being upgraded in the future.
But is there something missing from the current PlayStation VR setup?
Could it be that you’re looking for more mobility than what is currently available to you in current PS4 games?
If that is a concern for you than a new piece of hardware called the 3dRudder might just be what you’ll want to snap up.
Cue the 3dRudder, a new motion controller for the PlayStation VR that handle movement through the feet.
The 3dRudder is a new device for PSVR that allows users to move forward, backward, strafe left and right.
It allows gamers to combine directions to explore areas and make it possible to do this without using a controller.
And full motion control for VR can’t be sniffed at, anything that breaks immersion is a major problem that can lead to motion sickness.
Full motion control means being able to speed up, slow down and stop exactly when you choose to.
And doing this in a more natural way will only help to keep players grounded and perhaps allows for slightly longer playtimes.
It also provides the bonus of allowing player hands to focus on shooting, looting, hitting just like they would in real life.
The good news is that this new foot-powered locomotion option is already available in more than 20 PlayStation VR compatible games.
Current PlayStation VR titles that will enjoy Rudder compatibility includes Ultrawings, The Wizards, DWVR, Pirate Flight, Sairento VR, Red Matter and Nature Treks VR.
The 3dRudder has also been confirmed compatible with the Move Motion controllers, the Aim controller, and the Dualshock4 depending on the gameplay.
Which means there shouldn’t be any hardware barriers when it comes to more games being added to the list in the future.
A message on the official site reads: “The 3dRudder weighs less than 4 pounds, and using it requires effortless movements: just tilt the device, spin it or press your feet to trigger action.
“It is also surprisingly easy to get familiar with: you’ll need a few seconds to intuitively understand how to use it and a few more minutes to master its controls. Ideal for daily use.
“When the daily use of a computer peripheral or hand-held controller is a challenge or an impossibility, the 3dRudder brings an innovative solution by offering a new way to use your feet instead of your hands to control movement or map buttons.”
As mentioned above, immersion is a massive part of the virtual reality experience and can help reduce the risk of motion sickness.
So if it is possible to add a new element that helps to trick your brain, it will undoubtedly be welcomed by VR studios.
Development teams behind VR tech have spent a lot of time trying to make things feel authentic and reduce the issue of scene-breaking elements.
Walking into a table creates feedback, popping balloons creates surface effects and releases confetti.
And now more natural foot movement could be the next big thing looked at as a tool for this area of virtual reality development.

New PlayStation VR experiences coming to PS4 (Image: SONY)
The PS4 has one feature that isn’t available on the Xbox One or Nintendo Switch.
That would be PlayStation VR, a headset that allows gamers to enjoy games and experience in a Virtual Reality environment.
It isn’t the most powerful VR headset on the market, however, it does receive a lot of new and exciting games on a regular basis.
Many of these new games and demos are helping the PSVR stand out from among its rivals, something that could help with the arrival of the PS5.
And there are plenty of new PS4 games and demos being announced and released in 2019 to get excited about.
New experiences are being worked on by a range of different developers, with a new port announced for February.
One of these will be The Mage’s Tale, a Steam title that is being released on PlayStation VR early next month.
The Mage’s Tale is a dungeon crawler set in the world of The Bard’s Tale which allows players to Wield elemental magic to eliminate their foes.
“The corrupt wizard Gaufroi has kidnapped your master, Mage Alguin, and only you have any hope of saving him,” the official description reads.
“You may be an apprentice now, but to save your master, you will need to explore ten deadly dungeons, decipher mind-bending puzzles, avoid terrifying traps, and vanquish hordes of vicious monsters.
“Until you are able to wield every elemental power in the palm of your hand, evil remains ascendant!
“It is your turn now to sling gouts of flame, javelins of ice, arcs of lightning, and swirling tempests! Don your wizard’s robe and begin your Mage’s Tale.”
For those interested in playing a new PS4 games exclusive, a free demo will be hitting the PlayStation Store in January which will hopefully offer some amazing new gameplay.
And while it won’t be the full release, a new demo for the upcoming title Eden Tomorrow is set to be launched later this month.
That’s according to the SoulPix website, which provides only the shortest description of what is being planned for January.
No solid release details have been shared on when this new demo will be going live and what kind of content it will offer.
Eden Tomorrow blew fans away when a trailer was shown during E3 but has yet to be given a solid launch date.
The VR project is being developed exclusively for PlayStation VR and is described as a narrative-driven, sci-fi action-adventure set on a strange and frightening alien world.
“Explore your otherworldly surroundings in search of answers, contending with hostile environments and dangerous local wildlife as you unpick the cryptic riddles as to how you ended up there.
“Experienced through the eyes of a lost wanderer, you’ll come face-to-face with giant worms, be pursued by vicious flying creatures and find yourself jostled among a herd of stampeding Sand Walkers as you work to uncover the planet’s secrets.”
Sony PlayStation will likely share more news on the release of the exciting new demo later this month.
PlayStation VR fans don’t have it all their own way though, with another free demo being released this month on PC.
Fans of the original Silent Hills PT demo have been hankering for more gameplay since it was officially delisted back in 2015.
New projects have sprung up that looked to emulate the experience, and now a fresh one is available to download on PC.
And did we mention it’s available to play in VR?
Unreal PT is a remake of the original experience that can be download for Windows 10 and supports a variety of motion controls.
PlayStation VR news this week also includes a new add-on that hopes to add smells to your virtual reality experience.
An odour-delivering virtual reality mask has been in the works for some time and appears to be getting closer to launch.
Tech company Feelreal has now entered the pre-release stage for their new device, which offers the chance of adding scents and smells to your VR adventure.
According to the website, the new scent generator boasts a replaceable cartridge, containing 9 individual aroma capsules.
Players can choose and combine any of the 255 scents available in the store and can install and change them depending on the type of VR experience they’re experiencing.
