A Jet2 flight from Manchester Airport was grounded in Prague following a “potential bomb threat” on the plane. According to a passenger, a “threatening note” had been found in one of the aircraft’s bathrooms. Travellers were told to evacuate without their belongings on arrival at Prague Airport. Police proceeded to check all cabin baggage and interview passengers. Firefighters also arrived on the scene.

Fliers were held at a terminal gate for around four hours during the search, 26-year-old Beth Parkinson told Manchester Evening News.

She revealed that a single toilet cubicle at the front of the aircraft was locked for roughly 30 minute before the plane landed.

“We were just told the flush was broken and we should use the toilets at the back of the plane,” she told M.E.N. “Everything seemed normal during the flight.

“As soon as we landed the captain said someone had left a threatening note in a toilet and we were not to move and had to leave everything on the plane.”

Beth added that they were given water, tea and biscuits using the wait but were given no further information about the threat.

Prague Airport confirmed the incident on Twitter. They posted “Hello, @PolicieCZ checked the aircraft because of potential bomb threat.

“At the moment all cabin baggage need to be checked, estimated time is after 10 pm. Please contact handling employees on site for further information. Thank you.”

They later added: “Update: All checks are finished with negative results. The flight back to Manchester will be operated by backup aircraft around midnight. Departing PAX should contact their handling agents in the gate for additional info.”

Passengers also took to Twitter during the incident, with some claiming the threatening note was a picture of a bomb.

“Sons out there. Had to evacuate the plane and take nothing with them. No bag passport nothing. Was hoping someone could get info,” one Twitter user posted.

“Prague airport tweeted bomb scare. A picture of a bomb was found in the toilet and now al bags are searched 1 at a time. Police everywhere (sic).”

A Jet2 spokesperson told Jet2: “Czech Authorities were called to undertake security checks on one of our aircraft in Prague yesterday, due to a security alert.

“The aircraft has been cleared to return to service following these checks. We apologise to customers for any inconvenience caused, however the safety and welfare of everyone onboard will always be our number one priority.”

Express.co.uk has contacted Prague Airport for further comment on the incident.

Last week a Ryanair passenger was left needing surgery after a laptop fell on her head. 

The woman – whose name and age are not known – was disembarking a Ryanair flight from London Stansted to Lisbon, Portugal when the incident took place.

It is understood she was removing her hand luggage from the overhead locker of the aircraft. As she did so, a laptop fell out and hit the passenger on the head leaving her with a 2.5cm opening on her scalp.

Tonight the police in Menlo Park, CA are on the scene near the 200 block of Jefferson Ave where the headquarters of Facebook and Instagram are located. According to local news stations KRON4 and NBC Bay Area, an anonymous tip came in to the NYPD, who forwarded it to local officers. In a tweet around 6 PM local time, Menlo Park PD said “The building has been evacuated and the bomb unit is on scene.”

One US high school student’s red ‘Make America Great Again’ hat triggered his teacher into calling the kid an “a**hole” and evacuating the classroom.

In a video filmed by his classmate, the kid’s teacher gives him a telling off for the hat, saying that other students are “provoked by the presence” of it.

“If you’re scared of a hat, that’s no different than being scared of the dark in a basement,” the high schooler shoots back, slouching in his chair.

“Take your hat off or get out,” the teacher demands. “I’m either going to gather everybody up and go to another classroom, and you can remain here like an a**hole, or you can take your hat off.”

“I can’t sit here and learn?” the student asks. “What about freedom of expression?”

“I don’t care,” the triggered teacher responds, before evacuating the entire class into another room. Earlier in the video the teacher explains that he normally makes exceptions to the school’s ‘no hats’ policy, but would not this time.

The rebellious Republican isn’t the only high schooler to catch stick for wearing a MAGA hat, and a series of incidents show the hat can be a hazardous wardrobe choice. A high school senior in California was arrested in August for grabbing a classmate’s MAGA hat, then slapping her teacher as he escorted her out of the classroom.

The hat, she said, was a “racist and hateful symbol,” and her tirade against its owner a “political statement.”

400 people have been evacuated due to fire at shopping mall in the Russian city of Saratov, the emergency services said. One person has been injured.

The fire started at one of the cafe’s at the city’s Triumf Mall, the rescuers said. “400 people were evacuated. There are no fatalities, one person was injured.”

The injured person was an employee pf the cafe, who received burns to his hands and was treated by the doctors on sight.

The fire, which was caused by a malfunctioned fryer, was put out by the mall’s staff before the arrival of the fire brigades, the emergencies ministry said.

In March, Russia was stunned by a blaze at a shopping mall in the city of Kemerovo in the Urals. The worst incident of its kind in the country since 2009, claimed the lives of 60 people, with the majority of victims being children.

The Cameo nightclub in Bournemouth, UK was evacuated after suspected tear gas was released, causing some revelers to complain of itchy eyes and shortness of breath. Forty people were treated by paramedics.

Dorset police said in a statement to Metro News that they received a report that some type of irritant, possibly CS spray, had been released within the nightclub in the early hours of Saturday morning.

The premises were subsequently evacuated and 40 people were treated by paramedics at the scene. One person was taken to the hospital as a precaution.

Police found no evidence of any substance that posed an ongoing risk to the public during a search of the building. However, the investigation is continuing.

A plane crash at Ben-Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv caused two planes full of passengers to be evacuated.

The crash took place between a Germania plane, bound for Berlin, and an El Al plane, bound for Rome.

It was initially reported that the El Al plane was stationary on the tarmac, the Germania plane was attempting to take off. The tail then clipped the El Al plane, causing the collision.

However a video shows that the Germania plane appears to have backed into the El Al Plane.

Passengers were evacuated but no injuries have currently been reported.

They were taken by bus back to the airport terminal to await an alternative flight.

Israel radio station Kan reporter Amichai Stein tweeted the video which shows the two planes being evacuated.

The damage of the two planes can be seen as the tail fins stuck are together after the crash.

The El Al plane’s vertical stabiliser is almost completely torn off.

An investigation has been launched, according to airport authorities to establish how the incident occurred.

The damage could cost hundreds of thousands of pounds due to the collision.

Stein wrote: “#BREAKING: Near collision between 2 planes in Israel’s Ben Gurion airport: The wing of a Germania plane crashed into an El Al Plane – No one was injured.”

Twitter users remarked that it wasn’t a near collision but an “actual collision”.

According to the Jerusalem Post, one spoke to the Israeli army radio, and said: “the [other] passengers spoke of confusion and a sense of disarray.”

El Al Airlines are yet to comment.

The Germania twitter account wrote: “Germania confirms that two planes of Germania and the Israeli company El Al have touched each other this morning on the apron of Ben Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv.

“According to current information no one was injured. Crew and passengers are all well.”

A plane accident last month saw a United Airlines flight skid off the runway in Austin.

Bad weather had already forced the plane to divert from Minneapolis.

Whilst none were reported to be injured, one passenger told NBC: “You couldn’t feel the brakes biting at all, and then suddenly bumpity bump, we’re sitting in the weeds at the end of the runway.”
