Car insurance is designed to protect you while on the road and the way the premium is calculated is based on a number of factors.

Premiums can range from a couple of hundred pounds a year to thousands every year and will protect you in the event of an accident or if you need to make a claim.

A number of simple mistakes on the application form could result in motorists driving illegally and risking landing some severe punishments.

According to the Association of British Insurers (ABI), there are three main ways in which drivers are trying to trick the system to land a cheaper premium.

One of the main offences is ‘’ which is the process in which a driver puts someone else as the main driver on their premium to make it cheaper.

Usually, it is done by a parent who puts themselves as the main driver on their child’s first premium. It is, however, a form of insurance fraud.

One of the other offences motorists are making is by leaving out previous claims to unclaimed convictions which could leave them without valid cover.

The other issue is by putting a different postcode to the one they are living at or based can also result in an invalidation.

Mark Allen, the ABI’s Fraud and Financial Crime Manager, said to the MEN: “Insurers recognise that innocent mistakes and oversights happen.

“But anyone lying to get cheaper motor insurance, or tempted by cheap insurance offers without first checking that they are genuine, risks driving illegally.

The consequences include getting a criminal record and a massive financial headache if found to be at fault for a crash.

“The risks are just not worth it – especially when you can shop around for the right policy at the lowest price.”

The development team are currently trying to fix several issues affecting Fortnite servers tonight.

Players who are seeing Fortnite Waiting in Queue error messages are the lucky ones who have been able to log in.

Others are still unable to get past that section of the sign in process, although it appears things are improving.

While Login services are still suffering a major outage, it appears some players have managed to start playing Battle Royale again.

The Fortnite status site confirms that games services are suffering “Degraded Performance”, while matchmaking is still badly affected.

And while matchmaking is degraded as a result of current account service issues, Epic Games have provided this update on tonight’s problems:

“Login is currently blocked across all Epic endpoints, including games, websites, and the Epic Games Launcher.”

“This is due to a database failure which we are working to resolve as quickly as possible.

“In a measure towards resolution, matchmaking will be blocked for a short period.

“Thank you for your patience!”

This latest outage has been ongoing for some players on PS4, Xbox One and PC for hours.

In that time many have been unable to get into a Battle Royale game, with no current ETA from Epic Games on when things may be fixed.

Fortnite does suffer from regular outages, although many do not last very long and are sorted in a short space of time.

Fans will be hoping that the latest problems do not carry on too long, as many Fortnite players will be eager to try out the new content added to the game today.

Server issues have returned to Fortnite matchmaking services today.

Epic Games have confirmed that some of the game’s core services are currently down, with the support team investigating.

“We’re experiencing an issue with our matchmaking services,” Epic Games posted to Twitter.

“To help relieve some pressure we’ve applied a cooldown in between matches and temporarily disabled the Squad playlist for the High Explosives LTM.

“We’ve temporarily disabled matchmaking while we continue to investigate this issue and get a fix applied.”

Epic Games haven’t confirmed what is causing the problems today, although we do know that the game has become very popular.

It’s also available on a number of platforms, meaning a lot of players could be signing in around this time globally

The official Fortnite Server Status page currently rates today’s outage as major, meaning it could be a while before the game is back online.

It should be noted that following big outages like this, Epic Games usually looks to apply matchmaking Queues in place.

This is to help bring the Fortnite servers back online and avoid any further outages.

Today saw a new content added to the game, as well as a new patch being released on PS4.

It’s unclear if any of these problem has added to the server issues facing players on the affected platforms.

One of the big new features added to Fortnite this week includes the Vending Machines that can now be found across the island.

Fortnite players will be able to trade in spare materials in return for weapons thanks to the new Battle Royale feature.

The vending machines will be popping up across the Fortnite Battle Royale map, with each one offering three different things.

Rarities, items and different deals will all be chosen at random.

That makes for an enticing offer for many players, who can find themselves with a lot of leftover materials.

There’s also the debate over whether it’s worth stocking up on supplies for the final run, or whether you should trade them in at the new Vending Machines.

As some of the new artwork shows, Fortnite fans can trade in 500 Wood for the chance of getting a missile launcher.

Fortnite players have seen problems hit their Battle Royale games tonight.

Servers have been reported down, with matchmaking disabled for many.

While the problems seemed to be easing off now, it’s likely that Waiting in Queue message will stay in place for a while longer.

“We’re experiencing some issues with our matchmaking services. You may experience a login queue,” Epic Games confirms on Twitter.

The development team have confirmed that matchmaking has been re-enabled although players will experience a login queue when attempting to access the game.

This is likely to last at least an hour, although some players may not running into issues at all.

It follows another big Epic Games announcement today for those fans of the Battle Royale game on mobile.

The Fortnite Mobile iOS release has moved a step closer to full completion, following the news that everyone with a compatible device can now download the game.

When it first launched, it was an invite-only system, which interested players had to sign up to.

Now, Epic Games have confirmed the game is open to all devices that run it.

This includes: iPhone SE, 6S, 7, 8, X; iPad Mini 4, Air 2, 2017, Pro.

But it should also be noted that Fortnite DOES NOT support: iPhone 5S, 6, 6 Plus; iPad Air, Mini 2, Mini 3, iPod Touch.

While Fortnite Mobile on iOS is now fully available to all players, it still isn’t finished when it comes to development.

Busy server errors are being confirmed tonight by players trying to login into PUBG.

PUBG servers are reportedly down for a wide range of players, based around the world.

It’s unclear what is causing the current outage, with no known Battlegrounds maintenance planned for tonight.

Bluehole Inc. just released a statement confirming that there are indeed server troubles tonight, with no planned downtime scheduled.

“PC players, we are aware of a server connectivity issue and our engineers are working on a fix,” a message from PUBG support team reads. 

“We will update you once the problem is resolved. Apologies for the inconvenience.”

As confirmed by the support team, this latest issues does not appear to be affecting PUBG on Xbox One.

Players started reporting issues earlier tonight, writing on Reddit: “Yep, finally got into a game only has 19 people and can’t move

“My whole squad is ready and we aren’t leaving main menu.”

Fans will be hoping that this will be just a quick blip with the PUBG servers which won’t last much longer.
