Still the biggest foreign holder of the US foreign debt, China slashed it’s share by nearly $ 14 billion, with the country’s holdings falling to $ 1.15 trillion from nearly $ 1.17 trillion in August, according to the latest data from the Treasury Department. The fall marks the fourth straight month of declines. China is followed by Japan, whose share of US Treasuries fell to $ 1.03 trillion, the lowest since October 2011.
Washington has accelerated the Treasury issuance to avoid potential growth in the federal deficit due to the massive tax cut pushed by President Donald Trump, as well the federal spending deal approved by the government in February.
Chinese purchases of US state debt have been decreasing over recent months. The latest drop comes on top of the escalating trade conflict between Beijing and Washington over trade imbalance, market access and alleged stealing of US technology secrets by Chinese corporations. So far, the US has imposed tariffs on $ 200 billion of Chinese goods and Beijing retaliated with tariffs on $ 60 billion of US goods and stopped buying American crude.
The parties are reportedly set to resume trade talks at the G-20 meeting of the world’s developed economies that will begin in Argentina on November 30. So far, Beijing has presented a list of possible concessions. On Friday, the US president said he would leave out “four or five” of the big items the US wants.
“China wants to make a deal. They sent a list of things they are willing to do, which is a large list and it is just not acceptable to me yet. But at some point I think that we are doing extremely well with respect to China,” Trump told reporters.

Despite being the top seed in Group H, Poland meekly exited the World Cup on Sunday night, following a comprehensive 3-0 defeat by Colombia. Poland is the first European team to be knocked out of Russia 2018.
Led by Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski, Poland was the 8th-ranked team going into the tournament, largely thanks to its gaming of the FIFA rankings, and confident qualifying performance.
But following a somewhat unlucky loss to Senegal, Poland consigned itself to a must win against another surprise first-game loser Colombia. With James Rodriguez the architect, the South Americans demolished the Eagles, who last made it through to the World Cup play-offs 32 years ago.
Poland didn’t get a sniff. Surprising, since that’s what Colombia are known for letting others do.

A reminder that Poland didn't play any friendly matches for almost a year so they would be seeded for this World Cup.

Why is no one watching this Poland match saying Europe should have fewer spots? Poland have been worse than Saudi so far

Poland's performance tonight is much like Lech Premium, a pale lager that comes from the Poznań region of the country.
Both are utter piss. pic.twitter.com/4LyJ4nA3Ua

The Morning Watch is a recurring feature that highlights a handful of noteworthy videos from around the web. They could be video essays, fanmade productions, featurettes, short films, hilarious sketches, or just anything that has to do with our favorite movies and TV shows.
In this edition, take look back at the animated live-action hybrid Who Framed Roger Rabbit in honor of the film’s 30th anniversary. Plus, a featurette for the upcoming action comedy The Spy Who Dumped Me goes behind the scenes of the globe-trotting production, and get a look at the upcoming first season of the NBC show Making It hosted by Nick Offerman and Amy Poehler.
First up, in honor of the 30th anniversary of one of the most innovative movies of the 1980s, SyFy takes a look back at Who Framed Roger Rabbit, a crossover of cartoon characters (from both Disney and Warner Bros) and the real world that worked much more seamlessly and realistically than any previous attempts.
Next up, this summer brings the action comedy The Spy Who Dumped Me, starring Mila Kunis and Kate McKinnon, into theaters. If you still need convincing to check out the movie in theaters, this featurette lays out a little more of the story and shows off some new footage that might do the trick.
Finally, this summer Nick Offerman and Amy Poehler are teaming up for a reality competition series involving some of the most crafty people from across the country. Think of it as Top Chef or Cupcake Wars but involving arts and crafts and two fan favorite co-stars from Parks and Recreation. This looks like it could be a good way to pass the summer away.

Long-time no.2 keeper Mitch Langerak has also been cut along with Jamie Maclaren, who scored a hat-trick for Hibernian at the weekend, after Bert van Marwijk culled the squad to 26 in time for the pre-camp starting in Antalya, Turkey on Sunday.
A-League bolters Daniel Arzani (Melbourne City), Dimi Petratos (Newcastle) and his former Jets teammate Andrew Nabbout (now based in Japan) were picked, leaving them within touching distance of a coveted berth at the world’s biggest sporting event.
Rounded out the six omissions from the extended 32-man squad named last week were Lens left-back Alex Gersbach, Czech-based stopper Aleks Susnjar and Cyprus-based striker Apostolos Giannou.
Croatian-based bolter Fran Karacic is also bound for Turkey, with van Marwijk eager to see the right-back first-hand along with the Socceroos’ record goalscorer Tim Cahill.
Wright, who was a World Cup bolter four years ago from England’s third tier progressing to 22 Socceroos caps since, is particularly stiff to be dropped.
The Bristol City captain played the eighth most minutes of any Socceroo in qualifying, and improved with every appearance during his 12 starts at stopper.
But van Marwijk opted to use current club positioning as his basis for the first XI in his debut Socceroos match against Norway, as Wright was picked at right-back on a rare international occasion, switching with Degenek at stopper.
Although Wright has been playing at right-back for Bristol of late, he is clearly more accustomed to the stopper’s role for the Socceroos, and being subbed on 52 minutes in the 4-1 loss to Norway (when the score was 2-1) was a sign of things to come.
Maclaren, who netted eight goals in 15 games since switching from German side Darmstadt to Hibs, was also stiff not to make the extended squad.
Cahill and Tomi Juric are the only recognised strikers, although versatile Nabbout is also being viewed as strike option by van Marwijk.
Langerak, who at one stage was pushing Ryan for the No.1 shirt, has been swiftly overtaken by Feyenoord keeper Brad Jones and Danny Vukovic, who’s enjoyed a sensational debut season with Belgians Genk.
Gersbach, 21, looked destined for Russia after a stunning Confederations Cup performance last year but James Meredith’s regular minutes for Millwall convinced van Marwijk he was the man to put pressure on Turkey-based Aziz Behich.
“It is always a challenging task to reduce a squad, however this is the nature of professional sport at the highest level,” van Marwijk said.
“Overall, I believe we have named a strong and ambitious squad for our training camp in Turkey and friendly against Czech Republic in Austria.
“I am sure that in training in Antalya, and in our match against the Czech Republic, we will see players pushing to go to a higher level as they compete for a place in the final squad.”
The squad will be cut to 23 by June 3, before the final friendly against Hungary in Budapest ahead of the World Cup opener against France on June 16.

Whilst flying from Shanghai in China to New York on Friday, a pilot decided to dump 30 tonnes of fuel in mid air.
Having departed from Shanghai on time, the China Eastern Airline flight was operating smoothly when a passenger suddenly became ill.
After takeoff, the 60-year-old woman began having trouble breathing.
In order to better perform the medical assistance required, the passenger and her daughter were transferred from economy to business class.
The onboard crew started to medically assist the passenger but her condition started to deteriorate.
According to The Straits Times, the women started to slip into an unconscious and dangerous state.
Having asserted the crew had done all in their power to assist the passenger, the pilot, Gu Jian, made a very bold decision.
Jian discharged 30-tonnes of fuel from the aircraft whilst still flying in the air.
The reason being that dumping the fuel would make the aircraft lighter and he would, therefore, be able to make an emergency landing.
Jian then went on to safely land the aircraft at Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport in Alaska.
Gu explained to CGTN:”The aeroplane’s weight was 282 tons, far more than the maximum landing weight.”
“When the sick passenger needed medical attention for safety reasons, the plane had to descend and dump gasoline at the same time.”
Upon landing, the unwell passenger was rushed to a hospital in Alaska for further medical assistance.
Once the passenger was taken care of, the plane was able to refuel at Anchorage Airport.
Jian was then able to take off once more and arrived safely into New York six hours behind schedule.
According to later reports, the woman was later discharged from hospital and she continued her journey the following morning.
Fortunately, in this instance, the plane was able to land smoothly and safely at Anchorage Airport.
Previous footage went viral after a plane was forced to make an emergency landing whilst travelling from Arizona to Texas.
After an “unusual smell” was discovered in the cabin, the pilots decided to divert to New Mexico airport.
Passengers were told to brace as they landed, with one man filming the passengers having to jump down the emergency exit over the wing of the plane.
Fractal Tetris Huracan discussed her relationship with Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby earlier today, revealing she identifies as an “objectum sexual” – which means that she is sexually attracted to inanimate objects.
The 20-year-old student explained that she “can’t remember” how it started but recalls “liking treadmills and iPods” at the age of seven.
“It was kind of confusing. I didn’t really understand what was going on,” Fractal explained.
She added: “I discovered that there was a support group and that really helped me out.”
Fractal continued to explain that she had previously enjoyed a relationship with her graphical calculator called Pierre.
She told Holly: “I thought that Pierre was really beautiful and I loved the buttons on him and the track pad was beautiful.
“I loved his function,” the student gushed.
Pierre sadly broke and in 2016, Fractal discovered Tetris.
Fractal explained: “I’m in love with the game himself and the cartridge is a means of presenting himself.
“It’s not something you can explain but part of it is that clearing lines [on the game] satisfied me.
“I find him so beautiful.”
What’s more, Phillip tried to dig a little deeper into the physics of their relationship, but Fractal didn’t go into details, just saying it’s “very intimate”.
Holly was curious to know if Fractal gets jealous when other people play the hugely popular game, but Fractal insisted that her love is deeper than that.
“I’m in love with the game as a whole,” she told. “I don’t mind other people playing him, but as long as no one else is trying to date him romantically…
“My usual dates with him is me sitting in the library and playing him for hours on end and cuddle him.”
Phillip completed the interview by thanking Fractal for telling her story, adding that she is a “very interesting person”.

It really hit the fan on Thursday night, with late-night TV hosts arguing that President Donald Trump is in fact a racist after remarking that he doesn’t want to let in immigrants from “s–thole countries.”
Per The Washington Post, Trump met with lawmakers earlier that day to discuss a potential bipartisan immigration deal that would include protections for immigrants from Haiti, El Salvador and various African countries. “Why are we having all these people from s–thole countries come here?” POTUS asked, before suggesting that the United States welcome more immigrants from Norway, a predominantly white country, as an alternative.
“Guys, I don’t know how to break this to you, but I think the president might be racist,” Trevor Noah began. “Personally, as someone from South Sh–hole, I’m offended. Not only does he think brown countries are s–tholes, but he thinks, what, we’re never going to know what he said? I mean, don’t get mean wrong: it might take a few weeks, but as soon as the news donkey reaches our village, we’ll be so mad!”
The Daily Show host then knocked Trump for picking “the whitest country” as an example of a nation from which he’d accept immigrants:
Jimmy Kimmel could barely wrap his head around the “actual quote from the actual president of the United States,” saying, “I’m sure the fact the countries he described as ‘s–tholes’ are mostly populated by people of color, and the immigrants he wants from Norway are not, is a coincidence. Because if it wasn’t, it would mean we voted for a racist. Like, a real one! And we’d have to get pitchforks and chase him out of the White House”:
The Late Show‘s Stephen Colbert also took umbrage, arguing that the aforementioned countries can’t be “s–tholes” because “Donald Trump isn’t their president”:
Last but not least was Late Night‘s Seth Meyers, who started his monologue by reiterating Trump’s comment, then introducing a new segment called “Seth Has to Walk Away for a Minute”:
During “A Closer Look,” Meyers suggested that Trump’s “s–thole” remark was meant as a compliment since he’s made a habit of composing all of his so-called “best tweets” while “sitting on a s–thole”:

Elsewhere, West Ham stayed alive with a goalless draw at Shrewsbury and Tottenham scored three goals in eight second-half minutes to see off the challenge of League One side AFC Wimbledon.
Championship side Forest revived memories of their glory years under Brian Clough, putting 13-times winners Arsenal to the sword in an incident-packed 4-2 win at the City Ground.
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger, who made nine changes to the side that drew with Chelsea in the Premier League in midweek, defended his team selection.
“We have many players on the edge and we play again on Wednesday,” he said. “When you don’t win the selection is always questioned.
“I believe we had an experienced team — eight or nine internationals. It would be easy to think that was the problem.
“When you’re against a team like that they’re very difficult to beat. Defensively you cannot afford the mistakes we made.” US international Eric Lichaj opened the scoring for the home side with a header midway through the first half but Per Mertesacker equalised for the away team just three minutes later.
However, Forest continued to probe an inexperienced Arsenal line-up and got their reward just before halftime when Lichaj volleyed in spectacularly from the edge of the box.
Wenger, serving a touchline ban, was forced to watch powerless from the stands as Rob Holding conceded a penalty that teenager Ben Brereton converted in the 64th minute to stretch the home side’s lead to 3-1.
Danny Welbeck gave Arsenal hope with just over 10 minutes to go but Kieran Dowell netted from the penalty spot again to seal victory for the second-tier side over the Premier League visitors.
In a breathless final few minutes Forest’s Joe Worrall was sent off but it was too late for Arsenal to take advantage.
Nottingham Forest’s caretaker manager Gary Brazil said the result was something the former European champions could build on.
“This football club should be playing against the Arsenals of this world, and they should be beating them,” he added.
“These fans deserve to be watching Premier League teams and that’s what we’ve got to drive towards.”
LEEDS SHOCK
In the early kick-off, on-loan forward Shawn McCoulsky headed in a dramatic 89th-minute winner for Welsh club Newport County to seal a 2-1 victory against 1972 Cup winners Leeds.
Leeds had taken an early lead at Rodney Parade when Gaetano Berardi’s deflected long-range shot found the net.
But Newport, currently 11th in League Two — the fourth tier of the English game — levelled 14 minutes from time when Leeds defender Conor Shaughnessy sliced into his own net.
Infused with fresh belief in front of a passionate Welsh crowd, Newport pressed for a winner, and with a minute to go on-loan substitute McCoulsky rose highest at a corner to head in the decisive goal and send the stadium into raptures.
“This is much better beating Championship teams like Leeds,” said Newport manager Michael Flynn. “I don’t want to be winning relegation battles, I want to be winning FA Cup ties and climbing the table.”
HART SAVES
West Ham had goalkeeper Joe Hart to thank for keeping them in the Cup with a 0-0 draw after an uninspired performance against Shrewsbury Town of the third tier.
The England goalkeeper, returning to the club where he started his career, made a fine save from Mat Sadler with about 10 minutes to go until the interval and repeated the trick against Alex Rodman.
“The players are a little bit deflated almost,” said Shrewsbury Town manager Paul Hurst.
“But we have a replay to look forward to,” he added. “We know it will be tough. They will be at home, more comfortable in their own stadium.” At Wembley, Harry Kane broke the deadlock against AFC Wimbledon with just under half an hour to go before Kane again and Jan Vertonghen made it 3-0 to put the game beyond the reach of the visitors.
On Saturday, League Two Coventry City sent Premier League side Stoke City crashing out, prompting the sacking of Mark Hughes.
The majority of the snow — 58″ in total — fell on Christmas Day and Tuesday, breaking the statewide record for most snow observed in a two-day period. An additional 6 to 12 inches of snow was forecast for the city through Friday.
Lake-effect snow is a winter phenomenon where cold, Arctic air blows over the still-warm Great Lakes, forming narrow bands of clouds that can dump heavy snow on nearby communities.

Google Maps is a useful tool for those looking to get to know a neighbourhood.
However, in this case, users may wish it didn’t work so well – revealing the terrifying possibility of deadly crime.
Viewed from afar, this rubbish bin scene looks relatively normal: simply a pile of overflowing litter.
However, up close, it resembles something more spooky altogether: a pile of human bodies.
The footage shows limbs spilling out from the bins, with a torso laid out across one bin.
Another figure lays face down on the ground, legs crossed.
If you were to stumble on this scene on the street, it looks exactly like a mass murder has occurred.
It is as if a number of human bodies have simply been discarded in the rubbish bin.
However, upon closer inspection, it is clear these “bodies” are indeed very life like human figures, or shop mannequins.
This is evident from a number of seams visible on the head of the lying down figure.
There is also no sign of blood or anything that would suggest a terrible crime – although the surrounding area is heavily graffitied.
Whoever placed them there must have had a sense of humour, as one figure has its arms raised up as if in motion.
Recently, Google Maps revealed a suspected UFO landing pad in Krakow, Poland.
The site was made up of a huge based with round domed huts – which looked creepily like alien territory.
However, like the human figures, it was revealed to be something totally different upon further inspection.
In fact it was the Alvernia Studios, which are used for films as well as video game features and music projects.
