According to a CNN report citing a source who has reviewed the full transcript of the audio recording translated from Arabic, a man, identified as Maher Abdulaziz Mutreb, a former Saudi diplomat and intelligence official, made at least three phone calls to someone who was apparently a superior.

“Tell yours, the thing is done, it’s done,” Mutreb allegedly said as Khashoggi drew his last breath at the hands of a 15-men hit team.

It’s unclear from the transcript who was on the other end of the line. According to the CNN source, it is believed that Mutreb was updating Saud al-Qahtani, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman’s former communications chief.

Al-Qahtani was fired from his post as the kingdom’s royal court adviser as Riyadh was facing the fallout from Khashoggi’s killing, which has strained relations with its allies in the West.

The transcript cited by CNN also contains the last words ever uttered by the slain journalist and a chilling description of his dismembering.

“I can’t breathe,” Khashoggi cried. The plea was followed by muffled noises and several voices talking overhead, but nothing more could be discerned, according to the source.

The transcript then meticulously describes the sounds that followed.

“Scream. Scream. Gasping, Saw. Cutting,” it reads, only confirming the previous reports that the journalist was suffocated and then cut into pieces.

One of the two hitmen identified in the transcript, Dr. Salah Muhammad al-Tubaiqi, is cited as advising other members of the team to put earphones on “or listen to music like me” to dull the disconcerting bone saw noises.

Saudi officials denied that any calls were placed during what they earlier described as a rogue operation.

“The relevant Saudi security officials have reviewed the transcript and tape materials through Turkish security channels and nowhere in them is there any reference or indication of a call being made,” an unnamed Saudi official told CNN.

The chilling details of Khashoggi’s murder on October 2, including his last moments, have been leaked to the media in the past. In November, the Turkish Daily Sabah newspaper reported that it took the killers about seven minutes to choke the journalist to death with a plastic bag placed over his head. The journalist pled in vain with the attackers to take the bag off, saying he was short of breath and claustrophobic.

The newspaper also reported that traces of acid were found in the drains in the Saudi consulate, prompting the investigators to suggest that Khashoggi’s body was dissolved and poured down the drains.

Meanwhile, pressure is mounting for US President Donald Trump to place blame bin Salman for the killing, which he has so far been reluctant to do, defying his own intelligence service. Following a secret briefing by CIA Director Gina Haspel, several senators said they were confident that the Crown Prince, otherwise known as MBS, ordered the killing.

“It is zero chance, zero, that this happened in such an organized fashion without the [Saudi] crown prince,” Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-South Carolina) said, while Sen. Bob Corker (R-Tennessee) said that he had “zero question” that the heir apparent was fully aware of the plot.

Riyadh denies that bin Salman had any prior knowledge of the murder. Five members of the hit squad are facing the death sentence in Saudi Arabia, while several senior officials, including Al-Qahtani, have been fired.

Princess Margaret: Roddy Llewellyn affair SHOCK reaction – ‘What have we done?' https://briefnews.eu/princess-margaret-roddy-llewellyn-affair-shock-reaction-what-have-we-done/ https://briefnews.eu/princess-margaret-roddy-llewellyn-affair-shock-reaction-what-have-we-done/#respond Tue, 27 Feb 2018 14:29:31 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/princess-margaret-roddy-llewellyn-affair-shock-reaction-what-have-we-done/

Princess Margaret’s affair with Roddy Llewellyn was a shock to her friends, it has been revealed.

It was particularly shocking to Lady Anne Glenconner, who along with her husband introduced the pair.

The situation became increasingly difficult when Lady Glenconnor and her husband introduced Margaret to Roddy Llewelyn, who was 17 years younger than her.

She recalled the incident: “I remember being on the doorstep when Colin drove back and Princess Margaret and Roddy were sitting in the back seat.

“They were more or less holding hands and I thought ‘Heavens, what have we done?’”

Dame Anne Leslie, who also knew the pair at the time, weighed in on the affair.

“He was a nice, dim gardener, but he came from quite a good family. Anyway, she was having it off with him.”

Another friend, Princess Josephine Loewenstein, described the couple’s time together on Mustique.

This is where they conducted much of their affair out of the public eye, before paparazzi discovered them.

“It was their bolthouse, let’s say. She adored it. She went there whenever she could.

“It was like a house party, and there was always something going on. She was centre of attention there.

The story will be revealed on Elizabeth: Our Queen, which airs on Channel 5 tonight at 9pm.

Tonight’s episode is based in the 1970s, after the death of the Duke of Windsor in 1972.

A previous episode described Princess Margaret’s shock three words to the Queen after she learned she would reign.

The exchange happened on 10th December 1936, which began as an ordinary day for Princess Elizabeth, who was 10 years old at the time.

Elizabeth was disturbed by sounds outside – she asked what was happening, and was told her uncle, Edward VIII, had abdicated and her father, George VI, had become king.

When Elizabeth II told the news to Margaret, her sister – who was six at the time – responded: “Well poor you!”.

Paul Burrell claims Prince Charles ditched Diana after Harry’s birth: ‘My work is done' https://briefnews.eu/paul-burrell-claims-prince-charles-ditched-diana-after-harrys-birth-my-work-is-done/ https://briefnews.eu/paul-burrell-claims-prince-charles-ditched-diana-after-harrys-birth-my-work-is-done/#respond Tue, 20 Feb 2018 16:13:49 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/paul-burrell-claims-prince-charles-ditched-diana-after-harrys-birth-my-work-is-done/

Now the former butler has spilled details of the night that Prince Harry was born.

Paul claimed that he was told a story by Princess Diana. She claimed  first saw the youngster in his cot and noted: “Now I have an heir and a spare,” before heading to the theatre with Camilla Parker Bowles.

Speaking in the I’m A Celebrity camp, he told campmate Kerry Armstrong: “She [Diana] told me on the night that Harry was born, Charles came to visit.

“He wasn’t at the birth. Harry is lying in the cot, and he said, ‘Red hair, I suppose that’s a Spencer gene.’

“She said, ‘Are you pleased, Charles?’ And he said, ‘I’m delighted. I now have an heir and a spare.’

“She said, ‘Well, that’s an odd thing to say,’ before asking him, ‘Why are you dressed up in black tie?’”

Paul went on to add that Diana said: “He told her, ‘My work is done, isn’t it, now? I’m off to the theatre with Camilla.’

“She said, ‘On the night that Harry was born, I cried myself to sleep, knowing my marriage was over’.”

Both  and his older brother William were born at St Mary’s Hospital. Harry arrived at 4.20pm on 15 September 1984.

Given the media interest that has always surrounded a royal birth, images captured the first time Prince Charles arrived at the hospital to visit his newborn son Harry.

He was pictured wearing a navy suit with a pocket handkerchief. Diana’s former butler, Paul’s version of her events is at odds with the photographs taken at the time.

It’s not the first time Paul has opened up about his time working for Princess Diana.

Last week, .

“Diana’s mother married Peter Shand Kydd, the wallpaper tycoon,” he told his fellow campmates.

“And Diana always thought it was her fault that mummy had left home. She blamed herself.

“That’s where her anorexia started. She suffered with it all her life. She punished herself. It’s a tough gig, to have her mother walk. She came back into her life later.”

Paul admitted he was shocked that Diana had opened up to him about her family.

“Wow… I thought, ‘Holy, should you be telling me this? But do go on’,” he added.

A representative for Prince Charles declined to comment.

Philippe Coutinho to train with Barcelona on MONDAY with Barcelona deal 'almost done' https://briefnews.eu/philippe-coutinho-to-train-with-barcelona-on-monday-with-barcelona-deal-almost-done/ https://briefnews.eu/philippe-coutinho-to-train-with-barcelona-on-monday-with-barcelona-deal-almost-done/#respond Sat, 06 Jan 2018 13:34:20 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/philippe-coutinho-to-train-with-barcelona-on-monday-with-barcelona-deal-almost-done/

Stunning reports coming from Spanish newspaper AS say that while there is caution at Barcelona, they believe ‘the work is done’.

The deal is expected to cost around £142million (€160m), making the attacking midfielder the third most expensive player in history.

Philippe Coutinho is expected to fly out to Spain this evening and could watch his new team-mates against Levante tomorrow.

AS claim Barcelona want Coutinho available for training on Monday and then for their Copa del Rey clash with Celta Vigo and the following league clash with Real Sociedad.

PHILIPPE COUTINHO TIMELINE: HOW LIVERPOOL STAR PUSHED FOR BARCELONA TRANSFER

The Brazilian is understood to have said his goodbyes to his Liverpool team-mates already, who are flying out to the United Arab Emirates for a mini-break.

The Reds have been attempting to persuade Coutinho to stay at Anfield but the 25-year-old has resisted their offers to push through the deal.

Barcelona have been hopeful of completing the deal imminently after Liverpool dropped their stance that he was no longer for sale.

And it now appears as though the move is nearing a conclusion.

Reports in Spain claim Coutinho is so desperate to complete a move to the Nou Camp this month that he is willing to pay some of the transfer fee.

And La Liga expert Guillem Balague has backed up those claims.

Balague wrote on Twitter: “On Coutinho – Player hasn’t travelled to Dubai with squad.

“He wants it done ASAP. Willing to put some money towards fee. The figure should be close to €160M.

“No agreement yet between clubs but he would like it all done by next week. FCB would like to make announcement “very soon”.

“Liverpool is trying all they can to convince him to stay till the end of the season once deal with Barcelona has been agreed.

“And they are not actively looking for a replacement after trying to get Keita earlier.”

Zoe SuggPH

Zoe Sugg is a lifestyle vlogger best known by her YouTube user name, Zoella

Not a lot of people know this but I’m very good at… interior design. I worked in interiors when I was 18 and have always had a real passion for it, from choosing a colour scheme and furniture to all the little accessories that bring each room to life. I currently have a growing obsession with house plants and have a pink neon sign in my dining room to bring a fun vibe to the dark grey walls.

My best friend is… I don’t have just one. So many of my friends are my besties. Each has little quirks that makes me love them for themselves. Each one brings something different to my life and injects positivity in some way – there’s no time for negativity.

My nickname is… Zo or Zobo, which is how my friends and family know me best. And, of course, Zoella.

The bravest thing I’ve ever done is… tackled my anxiety. It takes a lot of courage and bravery, especially when it impacts on day-to-day life. I’ve been seeing a therapist for over two years and the change it’s made to my life has been so amazing. I never thought I’d be where I am today after struggling for most of my teen and young adult life. Now I’ll always encourage anyone with mental health issues to speak with someone professional as it’s the best thing I ever did. Although it’s very hard at times, it’s totally worth it.

My favourite TV show is… The Great British Bake Off (although Call The Midwife is also up there – it’s very hard to choose). I love every British TV series that feels very cosy. After a long day, Bake Off is perfect for unwinding with a hot drink and a warm blanket on the sofa.

My perfect evening is… watching scary films and having a takeaway with friends, especially as the nights get darker. Not everyone loves a scary film, but group morale is pretty high as you cower behind the sofa together and it always makes for funny memories.

I’d like to say sorry to… my brother for the terrible haircuts I used to give him. I never intended to be a hairdresser, but I went through a phase where I’d cut everyone’s hair. My own, my dad’s, my brother’s and my friends’. I also used to bleach his hair with really cheap kits. He thought it was cool at the time but we look back now and laugh at how terrible it looked.

The one thing I’d change about myself is… my self-confidence in certain situations. I always doubt my own ability in meetings and conversations with new people and I get really nervous. Once I get going I’m absolutely fine but there’s a tiny part of me that holds back.

The best thing my parents taught me was… to be kind and polite. As the old saying goes, “Good manners cost nothing,” and I try to remember this with everything I do.

The last time I cried was… when my boyfriend surprised me with a Nissan Figaro last week for our anniversary. It has been my dream car since I can remember. I just couldn’t believe it. I made a comment about the car on Twitter over four years ago and he had remembered. It’s a soft top, so I can’t wait for a sunny day to put the top down.

Zoella saw a therapist to help tackle her anxiety

The first record I ever bought was… Spice by the Spice Girls. I still listen to the album to this day – it’s a classic. I love having a sing and dance to it, and being silly with my friends. It’s one of those classics that most girls my age probably had on cassette.

My greatest weakness is… shopping, especially online shopping, it’s just so easy. I buy pretty much everything online, from fashion to homeware and even food. It’s too easy with just a click of a button.

The shop I can’t walk past is… HomeSense. I love the fact that every time I go in there I see different things and there’s often unusual brands from America that I wouldn’t find anywhere else. I absolutely love decorating the house and they have the best decorations for festive seasons.

The most expensive thing I’ve ever splashed out on is… a house. It’s been such a fun project as it needed lots doing to it. It took a few years to get it exactly how we wanted it but it was worth it in the end.

My perfect Sunday would be spent… going on a walk. I especially love going to Brighton beach to blow away the cobwebs. It’s so peaceful on a clear winter’s day. Then I love coming home, putting on the fire and cooking a huge roast with friends and family.

My favourite place in Britain is… either Brighton or Edinburgh, I can’t pick between the two. I love Brighton as it is my home and there are so many interesting things to do – the beach, the pier and the shopping are all amazing. There are so many cute independent shops and designers here. I love going to Edinburgh with my friends near Christmas. It’s so beautiful and quaint and we always have the best time doing Christmassy things, shopping and eating far too much.

ZOELLAPH

Zoella’s other nicknames include Zo or Zobo

My last holiday was to… Mykonos with my boyfriend and his family. I literally did nothing, which was exactly what I needed. Chilling by the pool and going out for lovely dinners. September is a good time to go away, everyone’s gone back to school and it’s lovely to get a last bit of sun before winter sets in.

I’m currently reading… The Cows by Dawn O’Porter. I’m only halfway through but I’m really enjoying it.

The best day of my life was… bringing our pug Nala home. She is a huge part of our family and I don’t know what I would do without her in my life – she is like my child. I’d never owned a dog growing up, so it was a very new experience for me, but it just feels completely normal to have a four-legged friend following me around like my shadow now.

If I had half an hour left on Earth I’d… run to my favourite place, the beach, with one of my favourite things, a pizza. Perfect.

Phillip Schofield stuns Ross Kemp with incredibly PERSONAL question: 'So done' https://briefnews.eu/phillip-schofield-stuns-ross-kemp-with-incredibly-personal-question-so-done/ https://briefnews.eu/phillip-schofield-stuns-ross-kemp-with-incredibly-personal-question-so-done/#respond Thu, 02 Nov 2017 13:15:09 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/phillip-schofield-stuns-ross-kemp-with-incredibly-personal-question-so-done/

The former EastEnders star appeared on the show to promote his upcoming ITV documentary, Ross Kemp Behind Bars: Inside Barlinnie, when questions turned personal.

After recently becoming a father to twin girls, Kitty and Ava, with wife Renee O’Brien, he told Phillip and co-host Holly Willoughby that he is “done” with babies now that he has four children.

The 53-year-old joked: “It’s great, it’s never easy – four is definitely enough.

“I’m so done,” he added to the presenting pair.

However, Phillip, 55, didn’t stop there, asking Ross if he was planning a vasectomy to stop any further babies, saying: “Are you going to be done?”

Ross laughed off the personal question, giggling: “I should be!”

While discussing his new documentary, Ross told the pair that the prisoners he shared a cell with would most likely be watching his interview on This Morning.

He revealed that one of his inmates gave him some advice for his stint in jail, saying he should “keep his head down, don’t play the big man and don’t be a grass”.

Ross Kemp Behind Bars: Inside Barlinnie airs tonight on ITV at 9pm.

Game of Thrones season 8: Kit Harington makes shocking claim about finale 'I'm done' https://briefnews.eu/game-of-thrones-season-8-kit-harington-makes-shocking-claim-about-finale-im-done/ https://briefnews.eu/game-of-thrones-season-8-kit-harington-makes-shocking-claim-about-finale-im-done/#respond Mon, 16 Oct 2017 04:27:54 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/game-of-thrones-season-8-kit-harington-makes-shocking-claim-about-finale-im-done/

Ahead of the launch of his new show, Gunpowder, Kit opened up on the upcoming eighth season of the HBO hit fantasy show.

The 30-year-old will play Robert Catesby in the new BBC One drama – a man who has long hair, a beard, and is a dab-hand with a sword – much like his Game of Thrones counterpart.

Speaking to press including Express.co.uk at the launch of Gunpowder, Kit admitted: “I think [the role of Robert] fit quite well with me not being able to cut my hair!

“Why I would ever desire to film in cold, muddy places on horses, I have no idea,” he laughed.

Kit is one of Gunpowder’s executive producers, explaining that the off-camera role excites him as much as being in the limelight.

The actor confessed that he would like to continue producing, but was not sure on what his next project would be.

“I’m personally done now with Medieval in the 1600s…” he teased.

Kit continued: “Something with guns. I want to move myself more modern slowly!”

The new BBC drama will follow Robert Catesby as he masterminds the Gunpowder Plot.

Although many thought it was Guy Fawkes, Robert was actually the brains behind the treasonous plan, after years of struggle and strife for following a Catholic religion against King James I’s desires.

Gunpowder launches on BBC One this Saturday at 9pm.

Sunday Brunch's Simon Rimmer says he's RETIRING after Strictly Come Dancing: 'I'm done!' https://briefnews.eu/sunday-brunchs-simon-rimmer-says-hes-retiring-after-strictly-come-dancing-im-done/ https://briefnews.eu/sunday-brunchs-simon-rimmer-says-hes-retiring-after-strictly-come-dancing-im-done/#respond Sun, 27 Aug 2017 10:48:01 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/sunday-brunchs-simon-rimmer-says-hes-retiring-after-strictly-come-dancing-im-done/

The 52-year-old presenter is set to take to the dance floor when Strictly Come Dancing returns next month in a bid to take home the coveted glitterball trophy.

During today’s instalment of the Channel 4 favourite, Simon joked that the money he’s getting for appearing on the BBC show is so good that he’s going to give up his day job after his stint on the series.

Irish chef and author Clodagh McKenna joined him in the kitchen to tell viewers about her perfect trifle recipe, but seemed distracted by Simon’s Strictly news, gushing: “Can I just say, Strictly Come Dancing? How amazing!”

“Well, I bumped into you the other week and you screamed when I told you,” he laughed.

“Because I dream about being on it. Why am I not picked?” she replied, quipping: “And I need the money. You must get paid loads of money.”

Struggling to hold back his giggles, Simon joked: “I’m retiring actually, after it.

“As soon as I’m done I’m retiring, that’s it, because I get paid so much money doing it,” he said.

Today’s show was filled with Strictly buzz as Simon’s co-host Tim Lovejoy, 49, kept bringing up the topic, appearing to make his pal rather nervous about the upcoming challenge.

Former Strictly winner Jay McGuinness, 27, joined the pair earlier in the show and shared some shocking information about the dance competition which only made Simon’s fears worse.

When Tim asked what training hours he had put in, Jay replied: “It depends. I think our longest was something like nine hours every day of the week.”

“Nine hours?!” Tim exclaimed, as Simon let out a stunned little scream of fright.

Sunday Brunch continued next Sunday at 9.30am on Channel 4.

EXCLUSIVE: Alvaro Morata tells pals he's joining Man Utd and a deal 'has been done' https://briefnews.eu/exclusive-alvaro-morata-tells-pals-hes-joining-man-utd-and-a-deal-has-been-done/ https://briefnews.eu/exclusive-alvaro-morata-tells-pals-hes-joining-man-utd-and-a-deal-has-been-done/#respond Thu, 29 Jun 2017 21:51:10 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/exclusive-alvaro-morata-tells-pals-hes-joining-man-utd-and-a-deal-has-been-done/

Morata broke off from his honeymoon this week for showdown talks with Real president Florentino Perez in a bid to break the stalemate in the move.

And those talks have helped to speed up negotiations between the two clubs with Real set to lower their £70m asking price and edge towards agreeing a compromise figure nearer United’s £60m valuation of the 24-year-old.

Morata, a boyhood Real fan and a graduate of their youth academy, has taken the decision to move to Old Trafford after Jose Mourinho made it clear he wanted him as his new No 9 to replace the injured and departed Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

FOLLOW LIVE MANCHESTER UNITED TRANSFER NEWS UPDATES HERE

Mourinho has convinced Morata he is ideally suited for English football and can flourish on the big Old Trafford stage.

Morata also knows regular first team football with United will enhance his dreams of being Spain’s No 9 at next summer’s World Cup.

Meanwhile United will dismiss any approach from Barcelona in Ander Herrera after reports in Spain claim Barca will turn to the midfielder if they fail to prise No 1 target Marco Veratti away from Paris St Germain. Herrera is a key figure in Mourinho’s plans and is happy at Old Trafford.

United will receive £6.25m of Michael Keane’s £25m transfer fee from Burnley to Everton.

They agreed a 25 per cent sell on clause when they sold Academy graduate Keane to the Clarets for £3m three years ago.

Sunday Brunch viewers SLAM 'unfunny' Joe Lycett as he 'QUITS' mid-show: 'I'm done!' https://briefnews.eu/sunday-brunch-viewers-slam-unfunny-joe-lycett-as-he-quits-mid-show-im-done/ https://briefnews.eu/sunday-brunch-viewers-slam-unfunny-joe-lycett-as-he-quits-mid-show-im-done/#respond Sun, 28 May 2017 11:22:57 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/sunday-brunch-viewers-slam-unfunny-joe-lycett-as-he-quits-mid-show-im-done/

The 28-year-old comedian joined Tim Lovejoy, 49, after the host joked last week that his presenting partner was being replaced after he was suspended.

Viewers of the Channel 4 programme didn’t seem impressed with Joe’s appearance, however, taking to social media to complain.

“The persistently unfunny and extremely limited @joelycett on @SundayBrunchC4. Ah well…” one angry fan tweeted.

“Could Joe Lycett be any more dull?” another added, while a third slammed: “I wish I was half as funny as @joelycett thinks he is on #SundayBrunch.”

A fourth added: “Who is the plonker presenting on #SundayBrunch with Tim this morning? #sticktoyourdayjob.”

Halfway through the show, Joe made a shock announcement when he declared he was “quitting”.

The guests and hosts toasted to DJ Tim Westwood, 59, who would be appearing on the show next week, as the star raised a glass in a video clip, saying: “Cheers Tim, cheers Joe.”

Looking delighted, Joe enthused: “Did I just get a name check from Tim Westwood?

“I’m quitting! I’m done!” he joked, holding his hands up in the air in surprise.

Not all the viewers were critical of the guest presenter, however, as many seemed pleased to see him on their screens.

“@joelycett is the perfect choice to co-present @SundayBrunchC4,” one gushed, while another praised his presenting skills, saying: “Joe is one funny man. He reminds me of the late and great Frankie Howard. Great humour, fantastic camera work.”

A third complimented the comedian, adding: “Omg Joe Lycett is on #SundayBrunch best part to my Sunday, he’s hilarious.”
