You won’t want to rush to get Tumblr’s iOS app at the moment… because you can’t. Users have noticed that the social network (part of Engadget’s parent company Verizon) has been unavailable on the App Store. It’s not certain what prompted the disappearance or who was responsible, but the outfit has talked about addressing an “issue” with the iOS release since November 16th. We’ve asked the company for comment.
PiunikaWeb noted that users couldn’t search in the app with Safe Mode turned off. It’s not certain that this is the problem. If so, it suggests this is isn’t due to an Apple concern. It typically wants less risqué material, after all. Tumblr is allowed to offer a safe mode, but also wants to be sure that feature can switch off for those willing to see more explicit material.

FC Zurich midfielder Benjamin Kololli got more than he bargained for with his goal celebration in his team’s Europa League clash against AEK Larnaca in Cyprus, unexpectedly disappearing into a moat-like area around the pitch.
Kololli, who netted a penalty winner against the Cypriot side, rushed off towards the visitor fans section in celebration.
The 26-year-old skillfully negotiated the advertising hoardings and continued his approach to the fans, not realizing he was about to jump into a lowered area designed to prevent supporters from invading the pitch.
The midfielder disappeared from sight, prompting his worried teammates to run over to the advertising hoardings to check whether he was alright.
Several seconds later, the Kosovo international scrambled out of the moat in one piece, much to the relief of his watching teammates.
Kololli was able to continue the Group A match, which ended 1-0 to Zurich.

Electric vehicles face a lot of challenges in the push for mainstream adoption, and the proximity to domestic charging points is one of them. No problems there if you’ve got a driveway where you can install a charger, but for those living in built-up areas where on-street parking is the only option, getting an EV is all but out of the question. Enter Urban Electric, a company that’s developed EV charging points that literally pop out of the ground.
The British company has designed the app-operated UEone pop-up charge point with on-street parking in mind. It charges at up to 5.8kW and retracts underground when not in use, minimising its impact on the urban environment. According to the company, the UEone is suitable for more than 90 percent of residential streets, and negates the need for street clutter, EV only bays and expensive grid reinforcement.
The company is currently conducting its first trials in Oxford, UK — a city known for parking congestion. Urban Electric will install 20 chargers on one residential street by the end of the year, and monitor their impact until 2020. The £600,000 trial is part of the city’s bid to become the world’s first Zero Emission Zone, which will eventually require all cars entering the city to have zero tailpipe emissions.
According to Urban Electric co-founder Olivier Freeling-Wilkinson, up to 85 percent of households in urban residential areas are unable to charge an EV from home. He says the company plans to install “an over-supply of pop-up charge points in a street from day one,” enabling millions of households “currently excluded from driving zero emission to make the switch.”

Fox News broadcaster Sean Hannity has disappeared from the Twittersphere – and all he left behind was one cryptic ‘clue.’
The account of the conservative television host was apparently removed from the platform late on Friday or in the early hours of Saturday morning. Hannity’s last tweet, which read “Form Submission 1649 #Hannity,” was reportedly taken down and reposted three times.
The disappearance of the broadcaster’s profile has sparked a hysterical reaction online, with fans taking to the platform to decry what they believe to be the malign influence of the deep state.
Make no mistake, Sean Hannity’s Twitter is down because he is extremely close to blowing up the whole deep state and DNC linked plan to prevent Trump from being President and currently remove him from the Presidency. Fight for Sean, he is a deplorable, just like us.#FreeHannity

The Left is getting VERY scared, folks. We are getting closer and closer to the truth!
In the end, WE WILL PREVAIL!#Releasethememo

While some mused about the possibility that the shutdown was self-sabotage or a Twitter employee gone rogue, hardcore Hannity supporters directed their outrage at Twitter Support.
I wonder if Sean Hannity’s Twitter was temporarily deactivated by him, so he can create a “leftists are out to silence our free speech” rallying call to his white supremacist viewers?

To the rouge Twitter employee who just deactivated Sean Hannity’s Twitter account, a grateful nation thanks you for your service.

@TwitterSupport You will lose millions of twitter users if you continue shutting down Conservative voices! Put Sean Hannity’s twitter profile back up! Maybe POTUS should take his down along with his millions of followers! You deserve to lose the money-you left wing nuts!
— Adrienne bertucci (@Adriennebertuc1) January 27, 2018
Theories about the significance of Hannity’s final tweet have ranged from vague allusions to things such as the laws governing false imprisonment and the way in which the Obama administration reworked the application process for requesting government contract funds.
Whatever the reason for the shutdown, the name of conservative critics’ favorite suspect couldn’t be ignored for long – however jokingly.
Hillary Clinton had Sean Hannity’s twitter account killed.

NASA
The US Navy and NASA have joined the search for an Argentine Armada (navy) diesel-electric attack submarine—the ARA San Juan (S-42)—and its crew of 44 sailors missing in the Southern Argentine Sea. The last contact with the TR-1700 class sub, built in 1983 by the German shipbuilder Thyssen Nordseewerke, was on November 15.
NASA has dispatched a modified P-3 Orion patrol plane—previously used by the Navy for submarine hunting—to aid in the search. The P-3 is equipped with a magnetic anomaly detector (or magnetometer), a gravimeter for detecting small fluctuations in the Earth’s gravity, infrared cameras, and other sensors for measuring ice thickness. With that array, the P-3 may be able to detect the submerged submarine.
]]>The 21-year-old Vekic, ranked 51st in the world, will face third-seed Angelique Kerber in the second round.
Playing in her main draw debut at the Rogers Cup, Vekic broke the 70th-ranked Bouchard six times and won 17-of-27 first-serve points at Aviva Centre.
Bouchard started the match on the wrong foot, getting broken in the first game after a lengthy back-and-forth. Vekic held serve then broke Bouchard again for a 3-0 lead.
Bouchard was 2 for 3 on break points during the first set but Vekic broke the Canadian four times, including the deciding game — a 10-minute long affair that saw the opponents hit deuce six times.
Bouchard fired two aces but double faulted five times to Vekic’s three in the first set. She had 19 unforced errors to Vekic’s 10.
The second set started better for Bouchard, who broke Vekic for a 2-1 lead, but she lost her next serve and responded by bouncing her racquet off the ground in frustration. Each held serve over the next five games before Bouchard hit the net down 40-30 to give Vekic the match at 6-4.
Bouchard, from Westmount, Que., remains Canada’s top women’s singles player despite dwindling down from a career-high No. 5 ranking in 2014 to her current No. 70.
The 23-year-old Bouchard, who made a name for herself when she reached the Wimbledon final in 2014 after two straight Grand Slam semifinal appearances, has failed to make it past the second round in six straight tournaments. She was a wild-card entry this week.
Vekic won her spot in the main draw via a two-round qualifying tournament over the weekend. Bouchard won their only previous match against each other, a three-set victory in Shenzen last year.
Bouchard’s best showing at a Rogers Cup came last year in Montreal, where she lost to Slovakia’s Kristina Kucova in the third round.
She was scheduled to play her first-round doubles match with World No. 1 Karolina Pliskova later Tuesday against Dominika Cibulkova and Kirsten Flipkens.
Earlier Tuesday, 18-year-old American Catherine Bellis rallied from down a set to defeat Julia Goerges of Germany 4-6, 6-3, 6-2, and move on to face eighth seed Svetlana Kuznetsova in the second round.
In other first-round play Tuesday, Oceane Dodin of France had to retire in the first set, giving Australia’s Ashleigh Barty a 5-0 victory. And Slovakia’s Magdalena Rybarikova downed Mirjana Lucic-Baroni of Croatia 7-5, 6-0.
Bianca Andreescu of Mississauga, Ont., made her Rogers Cup debut in Tuesday’s night draw against Hungary’s Timea Babos. She’s the last remaining Canadian in the women’s draw after Montreal’s Francoise Abanda was dropped in straight sets by Lucie Safarova of the Czech Republic on Monday night.

South Korea’s Hyeon Chung upset Feliciano Lopez of Spain 6-1, 4-6, 7-6(3) on Tuesday in first-round action at the Rogers Cup men’s event in Montreal.
Chung, ranked No. 56 in the world, took advantage of several mistakes made by the 28th-ranked Lopez, including eight double faults, to win the two hour 16 minute match.
Lopez is now 10-12 in his career at the Rogers Cup.
The opening match on centre court at Uniprix Stadium was supposed to feature 10th-ranked Tomas Berdych but he pulled out with a rib injury. Berdych’s withdrawal ended a streak of 12 consecutive appearances in Canada for the Czech player.
“I am sorry I have to apologize (to) all my Montreal fans,” tweeted Berdych. “I couldn’t play, because of my rib disfunction I need to get well to go to office soon!!”
No. 85 Ernesto Escobedo took his spot and upset 63rd-ranked Nikoloz Basilashvili in straight sets 7-6(4), 6-4.
Borna Coric easily defeated Mikhail Youzhny 6-2, 6-4 to set up a meeting with Rafael Nadal in the second round.
Italy’s Paolo Lorenzo downed American Frances Tiafoe 7-6(3), 0-6, 6-2.
Denis Shapovalov of Richmond Hill, Ont., ranked No. 143, plays 64th-ranked Rogerio Dutra Silva of Brazil later in the afternoon. Shapovalov, who was granted a wild card spot in the tournament, is the only Canadian in singles action on Tuesday.
Milos Raonic from Thornhill, Ont., was initially scheduled to play his opening match on Tuesday but a minor injury forced him to postpone it to Wednesday. He faces France’s Adrian Mannarino.

As if spotting a UFO fleet flying through the clouds at the Mexico-U.S. border wouldn’t be intriguing enough, the video clip of said UFOs also disappeared from the internet. Not once — twice. So what’s going on? Is this just a prank or has something happened at the border that should worry President Donald Trump far more than crossings being made by a few desperate humans?
The Sun reported this week that a video clip was uploaded to the image site Instagram depicting a flurry of bright lights moving across the sky from Mexico into the United States at the border crossing at Tijuana, Mexico. The 14-minute UFO video captured the action of seven or eight individual lights soaring above the always busy border control post on the California line. But then the video, which shows the bright lights moving about and people pulling over and getting out of their vehicles to watch and/or film the strange objects, disappeared from the internet.
Prior to its vanishing, the UFO video had garnered over 30,000 views in just a few hours.
After its disappearance, The Sun reported that conspiracy theorists began chiming in on the odd chain of events.
Tyler Glockner, who narrates the posts for UFO investigative YouTube channel SecureTeam, said the “fleet” of UFOs video had been uploaded again, only to be quickly removed again. The page itself was removed and the video deleted as if it had never existed. This, to Glockner, was “really strange” and sent up “red flags.”

“These are objects which someone possibly did not want seen on Instagram which is a big red flag,” he said.
“This gives a signal that we may well have something here.”
But what is it that we have here? One thing it was not, Glockner pointed out, was a random parade of lights crossing the border.
“At first they are random but towards the end four of them align in a rectangular formation so they can’t be balloons,” he noted. Then he added as emphasis, “Whatever they are even the border control agents are focusing on them.”
To make the assumption that the moving lights were anything other than a type of distraction that the border control agents are employed to not only notice but track, evaluate, and deal with if the need arises is to assume an unknown. Glockner appears to make the assumption that the importance of the UFOs was made clear by the border control agents’ attention, which is actually not the case. It is part of their job description to assess possible threats, no matter from what direction they originate.
He also makes the assumption that the moving lights were not balloons based on four of their collective aligning of themselves into a rectangular formation. But coincidences do happen. That is why the word exists to describe a confluence of actions in a given situation. Reading import into the action is projecting one’s own thoughts into the observed situation.
Still, it is unclear what the “UFO fleet” might have been, if the objects were made up of some type of focused light hitting the bottoms of clouds or if they were independent objects, such as the aforementioned — and dismissed — balloons. Of course, balloons are the go-to answer, especially for those ready to ridicule any official government response. However, the truth is, many UFO videos and photos can be explained by the various materials and buoyancy of balloons. Or perhaps Chinese lanterns. (You get why the skeptics go into eye-rolling mode whenever they are confronted with the latest bit of blurry footage or smeared appearing photos — even digital — that move, act, and rise like buoyant balloons or lanterns.)

As for why the original Instagram video and page was taken down, Glockner noted that the user might have taken it down for an unknown reason or Instagram may have removed it for some unannounced reason.
The U.S.-Mexico border is also in the news of late due to newly inaugurated President Donald Trump’s announcements concerning allocating monies to complete its overall construction and having Mexico ultimately pay for said construction after tariffs are placed on Mexico-produced imports into the U.S. CNN reported earlier in the week that Mexico was so angered by Trump’s pronouncements that the Mexican president canceled a trip to the U.S. to meet with the new president.
