Stacey Dooley had perhaps her best night on Strictly Come Dancing this weekend.

Her partner Kevin Clifton was tasked with teaching Stacey the Paso Doble – one of the toughest dances in the show.

And their incredible performance bagged them 39 points overall – comprised of three perfect scores from the judges.

However as soon as they left the performance area Stacey and Kevin were rushed off to get changed for their next outing.

Noting this, It Takes Two host Zoe Ball pointed out Stacey was seen running around the Lindy Hop-a-thon on Kevin’s back during the performance. 

Stacey and Kevin went on to explain their thinking behind this dance move, and why it was necessary. 

Once the dancers were thrown into the first ever Lindy Hop-a-thon routine, they were all pitted against each other simultaneously.

Speaking about the performance Kevin admitted: “We were at a slight disadvantage because we went straight on.

“And all the other couples – they were downstairs having a little practice!

“So I’m thinking: ‘She’s probably a bit tired.’”

“But also that is a Lindy Hop thing, when they play the guitar,” he explained, while mimicking the playing motion.

He went on to add: “I thought, in rehearsals, everyone is standing on the spot.

“So we thought we’d run around a bit.”

The 2018 World Cup is here and the tournament’s matches will be played in 12 arenas across 11 cities.

Russia is the largest country on the planet, making traveling between games more difficult compared to World Cups of the past.

Andrew Beaton at the Wall Street Journal estimated the total distance traveled for each team in the tournament based on their base camp and the locations of their three matches of the group stage.

As you’ll see, some teams will have fairly reasonable travel demands to make it from match to match, while some others will have a far tougher time when it comes to getting to the stadium on gameday.

There’s a pretty wide range of travel miles teams will be logging through their first three games of the tournament. The table above is based on round-trip travel between a team’s base camp and its first two games, as well as a trip out to the stadium for its third and final match of the group stage.

While no team has it easy, the chart makes clear that some teams have it much tougher than others. To get a better idea of how the teams will be traveling, take a look at the host nation of Russia’s travel itinerary for the group stage.

Russia’s base camp is in Moscow, which will also be the location of the team’s first match of the tournament. Then, they’ll take a roundtrip to Saint Petersburg to face Egypt, before finishing the group stage in Samara.

At 1,320 estimated total miles, it’s not the lightest travel schedule in the tournament, but it’s pretty close, especially when compared to Russia’s Group A opponent Egypt, which will have to travel a whopping 5,288 miles through the first three matches of the World Cup.

Egypt’s schedule is by far the most grueling of any team in the tournament. They were placed in the southernmost base camp and have to pull round trips to the northernmost and easternmost stadiums for their first two matches.

It is easy to see this and wonder if the host country was playing a bit of gamesmanship with a key opponent.

While Egypt’s travel schedule would be considered a haul by any traveler, it’s especially gutting when compared to Colombia, the team with the lightest travel at the World Cup.

  • Barbara Corcoran is a real-estate mogul and a star investor on the ABC series “Shark Tank.”
  • She thinks kids who don’t grow up with money have an advantage over kids who were raised wealthy when it comes to business, partly because the former are accustomed to failure.
  • Corcoran has said before that she doesn’t invest in rich kids’ businesses on “Shark Tank.”

“I shouldn’t say this,” says Barbara Corcoran. “But I think a poor kid has a better shot than a rich kid.”

Corcoran is a real-estate mogul and a star investor on the ABC series “Shark Tank.” Though she grew up one of 10 kids in a two-bedroom house with one bathroom, today she’s a multimillionaire raising her own pair of rich kids.

On an episode of Business Insider’s podcast, “Success! How I Did It,” Corcoran told US editor-in-chief Alyson Shontell why she thinks “poor kids” have the business advantage:

“My bias toward the poor person coming up is they’re usually hungrier. They’re more injured. They have more to prove. They haven’t been given a lot of privilege in their life to make their landing softer. So they’ve had a few bumpy endings and they’re used to failure, and, my God, what’s more important in building a business than failing?”

Corcoran has shared this opinion before, on season six of “Shark Tank.”

As Business Insider’s Richard Feloni reported, when entrepreneurs Ben and Eric Kusin revealed that their father is the founder of GameStop and had invested $ 2 million into their business, Corcoran said: “I feel very badly saying this to you, but I, as a matter of principle, don’t invest in rich kids’ businesses.”

“The best way to think of a solution in business when you’re slammed up against a wall is to try to think of five different solutions to get around it and keep going,” Corcoran told Feloni.

“But when you know that you have a trust fund, you know that you can always fall back on your parents, and you know that you can get additional funds, you get cheated out of thinking of those spur-of-the-moment, very needy ideas that get you through.”

(Eric Kusin told Feloni there’s a difference between being rich and being spoiled, and feeling entitled to success.)

Corcoran clarified her point for Shontell: “It’s not that I don’t like rich kids. I love my children, and they’re rich kids now. But I think they, with their good education and the coddling that even I’ve given them and their father is giving them, makes kids a little softer in the belly.”

Five Premier League teams are in the group stages for the first time as Europe’s top club competition kicks off a new campaign tonight with Manchester United manager Mourinho and Chelsea boss Conte insisting they are all at a disadvantage to their Continental rivals.

Mourinho says the competitive nature of the Premier League title race means teams cannot rest players towards the end of the season like his former club Real Madrid or Conte’s former club Juventus.

And although Mourinho loves the hectic Christmas and New Year fixture schedule, he believes the absence of a mid-winter break is a handicap to English clubs.

As United prepared for their return to the competition against Basel at Old Trafford, Mourinho said: “The only thing I can say is that last season Real Madrid played the last month in La Liga with their second team. They could do it. They arrived in the Champions League with a fresh team.

“And because they were champions in Italy three months in advance, Juve could play the last month with their second team and arrive fresh for the quarter-finals, semi-finals and final of the Champions League.

“For English teams normally that’s impossible because usually the competition [for the Premier League title] goes very strong until the end.

“There is no winter break. In other countries there’s a winter break but that’s cultural. It means a lot here. I know it goes against us but I have to admit I love the English Christmas period of football.

“Then there is the fact that we have to play many times two days before the big matches in Europe when other counties protect their clubs. For example, Benfica play on Fridays in Portugal, in Italy they also do that, and sometimes it happens in France and Germany.”

Conte, too, admits there is no space to breathe as he tackles the Champions League alongside the relentless demands of the Premier League.

With a domestic clash with Arsenal looming on Sunday, Conte is considering dramatic changes to his team for tonight’s Group C opener against minnows Qarabag – with Eden Hazard and £70 million new boy and top scorer Alvaro Morata possibly being left on the bench.

Conte said: “For me, this is something new. My previous experience [of the Champions League] was in Italy. To be realistic, this is not easy.

“English teams have difficulty in the Champions League because the league is very tough here. You play a medium team in England in the league, you can lose. There are six or seven teams in this league fighting for the title. You are never relaxed in England.

“You have to play a tough league and then two cups. To play 60-65 games at a high level is normal here, but it is not easy. In Italy before Champions League games I rested players. In England it is very difficult. You risk a lot. But we must rotate all the squad and when you do that there is always a risk..

“If you win it was the best decision, if you lose it was the worst. I must be realistic and calm and try to make the best decision for these six games. To play every three days is not easy.”

Michy Batshuayi is expected to come in for Morata, and Pedro may also be brought in, with skipper Gary Cahill also returning, with Eden Hazard again on the bench.

Mourinho will make two changes because Phil Jones and Eric Bailly are both suspended. Chris Smalling and summer signing Victor Lindelof will step in for their first starts since the UEFA Super Cup defeat to Real Madrid a month ago.

That’s the view of former Chelsea player Pat Nevin.

The Frenchman scored the winner in Chelsea’s 1-0 win over Manchester United on Monday night as he booked them a spot in the semi-final of the FA Cup.

Kante’s impressive display at Stamford Bridge followed on from his man-of-the-match performance against West Ham in their last league outing.

And Nevin believes the talented midfielder has played a huge part in helping Chelsea establish a 10-point lead at the top of the table, insisting if he starts to add goals to his game it will be “bordering on unfair” to their title challengers.

“There were many slick, sharp passing movements and a dynamism throughout the entire team and if you use the word dynamism, I believe you are legally obliged to say the name N’Golo Kante in the same sentence,” Nevin told the club’s website.

“If he actually starts regularly scoring goals like the one he smashed in to win this tie, then it is just bordering on unfair on the rest of the teams. 

“Once again he was exceptional, world class and no one deserved the goal more than him.

“He knows how to tackle better than anyone else and maybe that was one area where United fell down.”
