It follows Ticketmaster closing its own resale platforms, Seatwave and Get Me In, which had been criticised for facilitating online touting.

The company has previously used the technology in the US for NFL matches.

Fans will be able to transfer tickets for Four Tet’s shows at the south London venue to a friend using a Ticketmaster account.

Those wanting to purchase the £5 tickets for the Four Tet shows will have to register for a Ticketmaster Verified Fan account which will help to ensure internet bots and touts do not access them.

Ticketmaster UK’s managing director Andrew Parsons said: “These gigs present the perfect opportunity to use the tools we have to restrict resale from the get-go and give full control back to the artist over their own show.

“Combining our Verified Fan technology with 100% digital ticketing will guarantee that O2 Academy Brixton is packed with real fans, paying exactly what Four Tet wants them to pay.”

The London DJ, real name Kieran Hebden, is known for his collaborations with Radiohead frontman Thom Yorke and he has remixed tracks by Aphex Twin, Ellie Goulding and Lana Del Ray.

His Brixton residency will see a line-up of special guests and two full live performances.

Fans can purchase tickets by registering through Verified Fan by Tuesday August 28. 

They will be available to Verified Fans at 10am on Friday August 31.

As the nostalgia-laden Ready Player One nears its theatrical debut, director Steven Spielberg is fielding questions about looking back on his own movies. And you can rest easy, film purists: after that debacle surrounding the re-release of E.T., The Beard has promised never to alter any of his movies again. At the Ready Player One junket in Hollywood, a journalist asked Spielberg if he would ever consider going back and digitally altering one of his own movies, similar to what Spielberg’s friend George Lucas did with the Star Wars films. Apparently, that journalist had forgotten that Spielberg famously already did exactly that when he altered the re-release of E.T.:

“When E.T. was re-released, I actually digitized five shots where E.T. went from being a puppet to a digital puppet. And I also replaced the gun when the FBI runs up on the van – now they have walkie-talkies. So there’s a really bad version of E.T. where I took my cue from Star Wars and all the digital enhancements of A New Hope that George put in. I went ahead, because the marketing at Universal thought we needed something to get the audience in to see the movie, so I did a few touch-ups in the film.

In those days, social media wasn’t as profound as it is today. But what was just beginning erupted in a loud negative voice about, ‘How could you ruin our favorite childhood film by taking the guns away and putting walkie-talkies in their hands?’, among other things. So I learned a big lesson. That’s the last time I ever decided to mess with the past. What’s done is done, and I’ll never go back into another movie I made, or have control over, to enhance or change it.”

This isn’t the only time the director has spoken publicly about altering E.T. In 2011, I saw a theatrical screening of Raiders of the Lost Ark in L.A. that included a Q&A with Spielberg and Harrison Ford afterward, and Spielberg – who was then prepping Raiders for its Blu-ray release – brought it up:

“For myself, I tried [changing a film] once and lived to regret it. Not because of fan outrage, but because I was disappointed in myself. I got overly sensitive to [some of the reaction] to E.T., and I thought if technology evolved, [I might go in and change some things]…it was OK for a while, but I realized what I had done was I had robbed people who loved E.T. of their memories of E.T. […] If I put just one cut of E.T. on Blu-ray and it was the 1982, would anyone object to that? [The crowd yells “NO!” in unison.] OK, so be it.”

The iconic time travel movie recently aired on US TV channel TBS, but some eagle-eyed fans noticed something was different – the word ‘terrorists’ had been edited out.

The Back to the Future scene in question is near the end of the film when Marty McFly is in 1955 about to return to 1985.

He’s sitting in a diner writing a letter for 1955 Doc Brown, to be opened in 1985, containing a warning that he will be shot by terrorists the night Marty goes back in time.

Instead the TV edit has the words “by terrorists” on the letter blanked out, so it just reads, “You will be shot.”

Michael J Fox’s voice has also been remixed, so he doesn’t say the words when reading the letter out.

Instead the next word from the following sentence, “please”, is repeated to hide the edit.

Fans will remember at the beginning of Back to the Future when Libyan nationalists shoot Doc Brown for not building a bomb for them in exchange for plutonium to power his time machine.

One wrote: “@TBSNetwork  – would LOVE to hear this explanation. #snowflake”

While one said: “What. The. Hell.”

Another referenced Biff, the film’s villain: “Butt heads!”

Since Hugh Jackman doesn’t actually have claws that extend from and retract back into his hand, usually the creation of Wolverine’s signature adamantium claws in the X-Men franchise comes from the prop department. However, for the instances when Wolverine has to jam his claws into somebody, visual effects must be employed to make it look like the mutant has actually stabbed someone rather than just playing pretend.

In the case of Logan, the visual effects process of creating Wolverine’s claws delivering damage to bad guys was more complicated because the movie’s R-rating allowed for much more gruesome, bloody kills from his signature weapons. For those curious how they pulled it off, a Logan VFX breakdown from the visual effects company Rising Sun Pictures reveals the details layers that went into creating Wolverine’s claws and a few more seamless details.

Rising Sun Pictures says they contributed about 230 shots to Logan, ranging from the extensive work with Wolverine’s claws that is so prominently featured above to the more subtle and seamless addition of environmental modifications, such as digital matte paintings of the sky and mountains in Mexico, Texas and more.

It’s always impressive to see just how much of a given sequence is created with digital effects. What’s impressive about some of these sequences in Logan is how the visual effects do more than just add claws into the image, sometimes recreating not just Wolverine’s arm, but also the body parts that his claws go into, followed by the blood splatters and drips that

The 79-year-old director is about to release his second Alien prequel, following up on 2012’s Prometheus.

It turns out Scott is planning at least two more films to lead up to the events of his original Alien from 1979.

The filmmaker made the reveal during an interview with Empire, confirming the third prequel is already up and running.

He said: “Right now we’ve got a ten-page synopsis. John Logan’s doing it. And we know where we’re going with it.

On the idea of digitally de-ageing Sigourney Weaver’s Ripley for future films, Scott is open.

He said: “You could do that.”

Speaking with Fandango the director, who was , revealed he wants the franchise to keep going.

Scott said: “There will be another one before we kind of literally and logically, clockwise, back into the rear back head of [the original] Alien.

He added: “If this is successful, and then the next one, and then there will definitely be three more.”

Alien: Covenant is released in UK cinemas on May 12, 2017.
