“Your chap told me now don’t say anything nasty,” Miriam added as Phillip interjected: “Don’t say anything nasty but you’re always naughty and we love that.”

Again, Miriam laughed as she detailed: “Well, I did a couple of sex tapes.”

Holly and Phillip let out a laugh before Miriam revealed the name: “Sexy Sonja: Leaves from my Schoolgirl Diary.

“That was one of them,” she added as Phillip and Holly struggled to keep their composure in the studio.

Vikings plot hole: History viewers baffled by Hvitserk and Ivar error ‘Did they forget?’ https://briefnews.eu/vikings-plot-hole-history-viewers-baffled-by-hvitserk-and-ivar-error-did-they-forget/ https://briefnews.eu/vikings-plot-hole-history-viewers-baffled-by-hvitserk-and-ivar-error-did-they-forget/#respond Wed, 18 Nov 2020 04:05:35 +0000 https://briefnews.eu/vikings-plot-hole-history-viewers-baffled-by-hvitserk-and-ivar-error-did-they-forget/

Drugged and plagued by hallucinations of Ivar, Hvitserk killed shieldmaiden and fan favourite Lagertha (Katheryn Winnick) after mistaking her for a serpent, a representation of his rival.

However, some viewers were baffled when the pair shared a rather heartfelt reunion in the penultimate chapter of the first half of season six.

In episode nine, Resurrection, Hvitserk confessed to Lagertha’s murder, later joining Ivar to storm the beach of Vetfold and overthrow Bjorn Ironside (Alexander Ludwig).

Throughout the lengthy wait for the midseason premiere, fans have been debating the brothers’ inconsistent relationship over the last few years.

Legendary Finale Recap: Which House Did… What Needed… to Be Done? https://briefnews.eu/legendary-finale-recap-which-house-did-what-needed-to-be-done/ https://briefnews.eu/legendary-finale-recap-which-house-did-what-needed-to-be-done/#respond Fri, 10 Jul 2020 00:34:29 +0000 https://briefnews.eu/legendary-finale-recap-which-house-did-what-needed-to-be-done/

Balmain, Escada, Lanvin: Three houses remained by the time Legendary‘s Season 1 finale began Thursday. And what an atypical reality-competition finale it was — thanks to COVID-19 precautions, the competitors catwalked, spun and dipped to an empty hall, with only the judges to watch and determine their fate. (At least we know it’ll be back for Season 2!)

A title card at the top of the episode explained that in early March, as the first cases of the novel coronavirus were reported in New York City, the show’s producers decided to film the final ball without an audience. The theme: The Heaven and Hell Ball.

In the first round of competition, Lanvin started off with a hellscape full of demons that transformed when Eyricka entered, dressed all in white. The rest of her house followed, shucking their demonic looks for more angelic ones, and a four-person dip at one point really wowed the judges. Leiomy & Co. also loved Balmain’s contribution, which Law Roach summed up best:  “Y’all came out here in the beginning and gave us Sunday service, and then it turned to A Nightmare on Gay Street.”

Escada’s group number featured lots of feathers and some very soft — maybe too soft? — choreography; the fact that some of the costumes fell apart during the performance didn’t help things, either. Ultimately, House of Escada was eliminated from the running, meaning the final competition came down to House of Balmain vs. House of Lanvin.

The deciding performance was a face-off, in which members of each house directly competed against each other in one of five ballroom categories: Hands (Carlos Lanvin vs. Jamari Balmain), Catwalk (Eyricka Lanvin vs Cali Balmain), Duckwalk (Makayla Lanvin vs. Torie Balmain), Floor (Packrat Lanvin vs. Gravity Balmain) and Spins and Dips (Zay Zay Lanvin vs. Calypso Balmain).

The competition was fierce (in several senses of the word), the spins were epic and the duckwalks would’ve felled lesser mortals. At the end, though, the House of Balmain reigned supreme, taking home the $ 100,000 prize and the title of Superior House.

Too Hot to Handle’s Francesca Farago Defends Her Most Controversial Moves: ‘I Don’t Regret Anything That I Did’ https://briefnews.eu/too-hot-to-handles-francesca-farago-defends-her-most-controversial-moves-i-dont-regret-anything-that-i-did/ https://briefnews.eu/too-hot-to-handles-francesca-farago-defends-her-most-controversial-moves-i-dont-regret-anything-that-i-did/#respond Sun, 19 Apr 2020 17:16:37 +0000 https://briefnews.eu/too-hot-to-handles-francesca-farago-defends-her-most-controversial-moves-i-dont-regret-anything-that-i-did/

Heads up, all you chickens and geezers: We’re about to spoil Netflix’s Too Hot to Handle. If you haven’t completed your binge, you might want to… Retreat.

Putting aside the season’s official outcome, no one on Too Hot to Handle played the game as well as breakout star Francesca Farago.

Over the course of eight episodes, the Vancouver-based Instagram model never stopped evolving, gradually giving us every shade of the reality TV rainbow. We watched her tirelessly transform from a doe-eyed ingenue to a vengeful pot-stirrer, before eventually completing the process as an empowered “I didn’t come here to make friends” queen. As far as I’m concerned, when Lana allowed Harry and Francesca — the Ross and Rachel of this sexual circus — to win back their money in the finale, that was merely a thank-you for keeping the season chugging along.

“I was just there to have fun and maybe form a connection with someone,” Francesca tells TVLine. “Once the rules were introduced, and after the initial shock wore off, I basically thought, ‘I didn’t come here expecting to win any money, and we don’t even know how this money’s going to be split.’ So if I felt like kissing someone, I was going to kiss someone. I didn’t care how much money I lost, which is probably why I ended up losing the most out of everyone in the house. But that was my mindset, to have fun and entertain myself as much as I could. As much as I made everyone mad, I don’t regret anything that I did.”

In the interest of seeing just how little she regrets, TVLine asked Francesca to walk us through some of the season’s most controversial moments, many of which were direct results of her own actions. And we thank her for that.

BBC News: ‘Did you not listen to me?’ Louise Minchin SCOLDS Dan Walker https://briefnews.eu/bbc-news-did-you-not-listen-to-me-louise-minchin-scolds-dan-walker/ https://briefnews.eu/bbc-news-did-you-not-listen-to-me-louise-minchin-scolds-dan-walker/#respond Tue, 05 Feb 2019 12:02:43 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/bbc-news-did-you-not-listen-to-me-louise-minchin-scolds-dan-walker/

Louise, 50, and Dan, 41, were joined on the sofa by sports reporter Sally Nugent, 47, when the hosts were about to discuss the headlines from today’s papers.

One topic of conversation which arose between the trio was Chinese New Year as Dan noticed Louise was wearing a snake skin top, like fellow journalist Steph McGovern, 36, did on yesterday’s programme.

Louise jokingly ridiculed her co-host as she explained why she was wearing the top in relation to Chinese New Year however Dan seemed to dismiss the comment.

Not realising Louise had already explained herself, Dan went on to question her once more and was met with a snappy response from his co-host.

As Dan was also joined by Sally on yesterday’s show, the hosts asked the sports journalist in regards to Louise’s top: “Sally, are you admiring a bit more snake skin here today?”

“I love the snake skin,” Sally replied, to which Louise then explained: “I’ve worn that especially in honour of you really to be honest with you Dan because it’s Chinese New Year isn’t it?”

After he admitted he was a snake in relation to the Chinese calendar, Louise went on to reveal she was an Earth monkey and Sally was a pig.

Explaining why he’d asked Sally the question, Dan told Louise: “I mentioned the snake because Steph was on here with a blue snake skin top yesterday.”

“I know, I said to her yesterday she inspired me to wear this today,” Louise admitted, to which Dan added: “It’s a good job we didn’t do double snake skin yesterday.”

However, although Louise had explained her decision earlier on, Dan asked: “You not wearing it in my honour?”

Jokingly snapping at Dan, Louise replied: “That’s what I just said. Do you not listen to me?” laughing off her co-host’s remark.

Seemingly stunned by the response, Dan picked up a newspaper to discuss the paper’s headline: “Ok, shall we do the papers?”

Carrying on with the schedule, the presenters then continued to discuss Chinese New Year.

After Carol Kirkwood, 58, presented the weather forecast, the presenters discussed the animal she would be in relation to the Chinese calendar.

Dan told the forecaster: “I don’t know if you know this Carol, but you are in fact a tiger,” to which Carol confirmed she did know the fact.

Joking about how the animal matched her personality, Dan told Carol: “You’re cruel, heartless and stingy,” but as Carol laughed off the remark, Louise let out a huge gasp.

“It’s not true. I’ve looked it up, he’s making things up. You’re kind, benevolent and imaginative ,” Louise commented.

“Don’t listen to him,” Louise continued, but continuing the joke, Carol replied: “I don’t know? I think Dan’s closer to the truth.”

Although the presenters understood it was all in jest, Dan clarified: “You know I love Carol.”

airs weekdays at 6am on One.

‘Did he just call Salah a p***y?’ Man City captain Kompany accused of insulting Liverpool star https://briefnews.eu/did-he-just-call-salah-a-py-man-city-captain-kompany-accused-of-insulting-liverpool-star/ https://briefnews.eu/did-he-just-call-salah-a-py-man-city-captain-kompany-accused-of-insulting-liverpool-star/#respond Thu, 03 Jan 2019 22:23:52 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/did-he-just-call-salah-a-py-man-city-captain-kompany-accused-of-insulting-liverpool-star/

Social media users have accused Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany of branding Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah “a p***y” after the striker went down under a bruising tackle from the defender.

Kompany was handed a booking after firing into the Liverpool forward with a crunching challenge during the teams’ Premier League top-of-the-table clash at the Etihad Stadium.

Many observers felt the rash tackle warranted a red card, but as the Egyptian forward lay writhing on the ground Kompany walked past with a few choice words for his rival.

Social media users have been sharing footage of the incident, claiming to know exactly what the Man City skipper said towards Salah.

Table-toppers Liverpool came inches from taking the lead in the game when John Stones and goalkeeper Ederson became involved in a mix-up after a Sadio Mane shot, but goalline technology showed the ball had not crossed the line.

However it was City who broke the deadlock when Argentine star Sergio Aguero fired home from a tight angle at the end of the first half.

Roberto Firmino leveled things for the visitors with a diving header at the back post in the second half of a pulsating encounter, before German winger Leroy Sane won it for City with his superb low finish on 72 minutes.

The win for City handed the Reds their first defeat of the season and cut the gap at the top of the table to four points.

Aquaman end credit scene reveals SEQUEL plans – Did you spot the ONLY Justice League link? https://briefnews.eu/aquaman-end-credit-scene-reveals-sequel-plans-did-you-spot-the-only-justice-league-link/ https://briefnews.eu/aquaman-end-credit-scene-reveals-sequel-plans-did-you-spot-the-only-justice-league-link/#respond Fri, 21 Dec 2018 21:43:59 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/aquaman-end-credit-scene-reveals-sequel-plans-did-you-spot-the-only-justice-league-link/

The hillbilly king of Atlantis has finally splashed onto US cinema screens. After making massive waves around the world American audiences can finally see what all the fuss is about. Jason Momoa’s first solo outing has already been a spectacular success at the global box office, banking over $ 332million before it even opens in many major territories, including its home turf. A sequel seems inevitable and the mid credit scene sets its all up.

WARNING SPOILERS FROM HERE ON:

Earlier this year, director James Wan stressed he wanted to make a film which stood apart from the main Justice League narrative and concerns. The end of last year’s Justice League film showed Bruce Wayne revealing the table and room where it was envisaged the team (and prospective new members) would meet. Does the Aquaman film move this forward in any way?

The simple answer is that no members of the League appear in the movie, either on screen or even mentioned in discussions. However, we know the film is set after the events of Justice League because Amber Heard’s Mera defends Aquaman at one point by reminding his detractors that he saved Atlantis from Steppenwolf.

This is the only link or reference to the wider DCEU throughout the entire movie.

So what is the end credit scene all about?

It certainly points towards what comes next and is used primarily to set up potential storylines for the sequel.

The scene shows the villainous Black Manta rescued from the sea by the fanatic Dr Stephen Shin, who is obsessed with finding Atlantis. He recognises Black Manta’s suit as being from the technologically advanced underwater kingdom.

Both men look set to form an alliance to find Atlantis and Aquaman.

Jason Momoa has admitted he already pitched the opening scene of Aquaman 2 to Warner Bros bosses. But will it find room for the missing Justice League members?

He has also said he is confident Henry Cavill will return as Superman. However, asked which heroes he would liek t join him for Aquaman 2 and Momoa said Wonder Woman and Flash.

With Aquaman looking set to eclipse the box office of both Justice League films and the original Superman opener, it seems likely we will see another Aquaman film first.

Fantastic Beasts 2 end credit scene: Harry Potter SHOCK ending – Did you spot THIS clue? https://briefnews.eu/fantastic-beasts-2-end-credit-scene-harry-potter-shock-ending-did-you-spot-this-clue/ https://briefnews.eu/fantastic-beasts-2-end-credit-scene-harry-potter-shock-ending-did-you-spot-this-clue/#respond Sat, 17 Nov 2018 10:33:18 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/fantastic-beasts-2-end-credit-scene-harry-potter-shock-ending-did-you-spot-this-clue/

The Fantastic Beasts sequel has finally opened in the US and the UK to rather mixed reviews. One of the biggest complaints is that it packs in a lot of twists and turns whiel also manoeuuvering all the characters into place for the next three fims. The is especially true for Albus Dumbledore, Grindelwald and Credence. The end scene reveals one of the biggest shocks in the entire Harry Potter universe – and one that no previous theories or rumours came close to guessing. It is an impressive twist but were the clues teased earlier on in the movie?

WARNING MAJOR SPOILERS FROM HERE

The identity of Credence (formerly) Barebone is the driving focus of the second movie. It is why he is eventually drawn to Grindelwald, who promises the only answer he seeks.

There is also a reason why we now have to start referring to the beloved Harry Potter Hogwarts headmaster by both his names.

There is suddenly another major Dumbledore in the story. Griendelwald makes the staggering revelation in the final scene, and even provides the family’s iconic phoenix as proof.

But how is this even possible?

During an earlier scene with Leta Lestrange, Albus talks about his lost sister and says he should have loved her better.

Fans know that Ariana Dumbledore had a tragic life, attacked as a child, unstable and unable to control her magic. She accidentally killed her mother and, in turn, died during a battle between her brothers and Gellert Grindelwald.

But what if she had a secret child?

Credence is the perfect age to be Albus’ son, ofcourse, but JK Rowling made it clear that the beloved wizard is gay. He also remains heartbroken that the love of his life turned into the greatest threat the world has ever seen and rather unlikely to have ever sought comfort from any other man or woman.

The other Dumbledore sibling, Aberforth, is a genial bachelor in the later films and there is no evidence of a secret child in any of the Potter histories.

Plus, the inclusion of that heavily featured moment between Albus and Leta now seems to have been used to reintroduce Ariana into the storyline.

Rowling and the filmmakers seems to be stretching some of the existing Harry Potter histories to breaking point (like including Professor McGonagall who shoudln’t even have been born yet) and it remains to be seen how they will explain Credence’s sudden inclusion in one of the most famous wizarding families.

This film has no more secrets to reveal, though, and there is no mid or end credit scene to tease what comes next.

White House bans CNN pool reporter from Trump event after ‘did Cohen betray you’ barrage https://briefnews.eu/white-house-bans-cnn-pool-reporter-from-trump-event-after-did-cohen-betray-you-barrage/ https://briefnews.eu/white-house-bans-cnn-pool-reporter-from-trump-event-after-did-cohen-betray-you-barrage/#respond Thu, 26 Jul 2018 03:34:27 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/white-house-bans-cnn-pool-reporter-from-trump-event-after-did-cohen-betray-you-barrage/ The White House has defended its decision to bar CNN reporter Kaitlin Collins from covering a Donald Trump event. The WH press service said it found her behavior disrespectful to the presidency and to his distinguished EU guest.

The CNN White House correspondent was told not to cover another of President Donald Trump’s events on Wednesday evening, after she tried to harangue the US leader with questions that he refused to answer, during a press meeting with European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker present.

“At the conclusion of a press event in the Oval Office, a reporter shouted questions and refused to leave despite being repeatedly being asked to do so,” White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders said. “Subsequently, our staff informed her she was not welcome to participate in the next event but made clear that any other journalist from her network could attend.”

In a video of the incident, Collins does appear to be quite vocal, shouting questions to overpower other reporters in the room. At first, she repeatedly asked Trump if his former lawyer Michael Cohen had betrayed him. Earlier, CNN published a tape which, it says, captures Trump and Cohen discussing the cover-up of Trump’s alleged affair with a former Playboy model a decade ago. With no response to those questions, she proceeded to ask Trump why Vladimir Putin failed to accept an invitation to visit Washington.

Once the White House staff finally cleared the room, Bill Shine, the White House’s new deputy chief of staff for communications, called Collins into his office, where he and Sarah Sanders informed Collins that she was not invited to a press event in the Rose Garden later on Wednesday. According to CNN, the correspondent was barred because of her “inappropriate” behavior.

CNN host Cuomo says Trump’s aversion to ‘fake news media’ means he hates America

“Just because the White House is uncomfortable with a question regarding the news of the day, doesn’t mean the question isn’t relevant and shouldn’t be asked,” CNN said in its statement about the event. “This decision to bar a member of the press is retaliatory in nature and not indicative of a free and open press. We demand better.”

While Sanders defended her decision, stressing that the administration supports free press as long as “everyone [is] respectful of the presidency and guests at the White House,” the ban sparked outrage among fellow journalists.

Condemning the White House’s “misguided and inappropriate decision” the White House Correspondents’ Association (WHCA) President Olivier Knox called the retaliation “wholly inappropriate, wrong-headed, and weak.”

“It cannot stand. Reporters asking questions of powerful government officials, up to and including the President, helps hold those people accountable,” Knox stressed, noting that the press must work “without fear of reprisal from the government.”

“We stand in strong solidarity with CNN for the right to full access for our journalists as part of a free and unfettered press,” said Fox News president Jay Wallace.

CNN has been the most frequent target of Trump’s attacks against US media outlets that were deemed to have presented favorable coverage of the Hillary Clinton campaign during the 2016 election. After assuming office Trump repeatedly denied CNN correspondents an opportunity to ask him questions and called the broadcaster “fake news” and a “terrible” organization.

  • CNN anchor Erin Burnett slammed President Donald Trump’s explanation that he misspoke during a joint press conference with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
  • During his press conference with Putin on Monday, Trump initially said he did not “see any reason why” Russia would be responsible for meddling in the 2016 US Presidential election.
  • Trump later clarified his comments on Tuesday, telling reporters that he accepted “our intelligence community’s conclusion that Russia’s meddling in the 2016 election took place.”
  • Burnett did not appear convinced and noted that Trump and his aides failed to “correct the record,” even as Republican lawmakers demanded clarification for “28 hours.”

In a scathing opening monologue on Tuesday, CNN anchor Erin Burnett slammed President Donald Trump’s explanation that he misspoke during a joint press conference with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

“Damage control, the president claims he misspoke once in his disastrous summit with Putin,” Burnett said on CNN. “Did the dog eat his homework too?”
