The following contains major spoilers from the Feb. 14 episode of ABC’s The Rookie.

This week on The Rookie, Officer Jackson West (played by Titus Makin) went “all in” in his quest to take down his TO, Doug Stanton (Brandon Routh). Alas, just as he set out to do so — by first apologizing to Stanton for his slip-up that got him a blue page, and then begging to keep riding at his side — the precinct was shut down due to a bomb threat. Meaning, if West and Stanton took a potentially problematic call, anyone who might respond to offer backup was locked down inside the station.

Cruising the streets, Stanton was spoiling for a fight, claiming that every “thug, lowlife and banger” would be aiming to take advantage of the neutered police station. Jackson diffused one unwarranted confrontation, leading to a blowup with Stanton, who threatened to get him fired; Jackson in turn threatened to sic his dad on Stanton’s “racist ass.” After a detente of sorts, they followed a suspicious SUV into a sketchy apartment complex, and then set out on foot to find its owner, the officers got split up. Jackson ran into a small but aggressive group, and got jumped and beat on. Stanton came around a corner and spotted the beating from afar, but, with his body camera off, kept his distance instead of offering help. He started to double back when he ran into an arriving Bradford and Chen, and claimed he and West got separated. Returning around the corner, the officers found Jackson seemingly lifeless on the pavement, his attackers gone.

When Stanton knelt at his rookie’s side, feigning distress, a bruised, bloodied Jackson mustered enough strength to reach up and switch back on his TO’s body cam — meaning, the preceding and damning two minutes of Stanton’s actions had been recorded. After accessing the video on site, Sgt. Grey asked for Stanton’s gun and badge, putting him on administrative leave. Later, at the hospital, Grey stood in awe of West’s honor and bravery, and thanked him for reminding what their job could be.

TVLine spoke with Jackson’s portrayer, Titus Makin, about the harrowing takedown of Stanton — and what about the storyline was hardest for him, personally, to portray.

Rookie Stanton WestTVLINE | Sgt. Grey (Richard T. Jones) had totally given Jackson an out, after Stanton got wise to everyone’s suspicions. What did you think of Jackson‘s decision to nonetheless go for it, saying, “I want to do this”?
I loved it. It was full of integrity and faith and courage. Honestly, this has been one of my favorite seasons, seeing Jackson coming into his own and using his voice and being as strong as we’ve known he could be this whole time. We really get to see him pull through on his strength.

TVLINE | That exchange that he had with Stanton outside their shop, where he played the “My dad isn’t part of Internal Affairs, he runs it” card — do you think he knew it would be an ace in the hole, or could have kind of gone either way?
I think it very well could have gone either way. I mean, he comes from the [family] tree that he does, and his dad’s going to do what’s right as well, but it’s not something that he can just use as a blanket statement any time. Jackson knows that this is a situation where it actually will take full effect, like, “Oh, you think this, but I’ve always had a one-up on you. I’ve just chosen to stay in my place until now. Don’t try to low blow me because I guarantee you, you will be not happy.”

TVLINE | When they responded to that call in the projects and both went running in, do you think Jackson’s mind proactively thought, “There might be an opportunity here at some point to get the goods on Doug”? Or was it only when he was on the ground getting beaten?
Personally, I don’t think that there was anything [on his mind] until after the fight. I don’t think there was anything that Jackson was trying to do other than report to a call and do the call correctly. It wasn’t until Jackson, in the midst of getting beat up, saw that Doug was nowhere to be found but knew that there’d always be evidence. So it’s like, “OK, if this is happening to me and he didn’t come to my call, to everybody else it will look like he was looking for me, but I know that he wasn’t that far.” [Turning his body cam back on] is a perfect way to run that back a few minutes and see where he really was, and what was really going on during that time.

TVLINE | I like how they laid the foundation for that twist earlier in the episode. So even if a body cam is off, when you turn it back on it’s actually been recording the last two minutes?
I don’t know the industry standard, how far it goes back, but yeah, somewhere around that two-minute mark. No matter what cop it is, if you turn your camera on it can go back as far as two minutes prior to you turning it on. That feature is on their camera  o protect themselves but also for the protection of citizens as well.

TVLINE | What did you think of the Doug Stanton character as the show’s example of a bad cop?
Unfortunately it was extremely accurate. It is the worst version, of course — depicting the unfortunate reality of “the worst truthful cop,” if that makes sense — but they’re out there. There are cops like that. We’ve seen them, and we unfortunately have seen the repercussions of what they do when ego’s involved and racism’s involved. I commend Brandon [Routh] for being strong enough and willing enough to play that character even though it goes against everything he stands for as an actual person.

TVLINE | A nice little bond forms between Jackson and Grey at the end there, in the hospital room. Is that something that’ll last?
I loved that moment. That’s literally one of my favorite scenes that we’ve ever done on the show, that exchange between Jackson and Grey — and that is something that I hope they do continue to kind of play out, because I think it’s really cool that they show two Black cops having that conversation. It’s a really beautiful bond, seeing two cops wanting to do what’s right, along with the rest of the cops on the show.

TVLINE | It was just a couple episodes ago where Grey, with his wife, was questioning what all he could accomplish, reconciling his very reasonable expectations. But in that hospital room, he was like, “You showed me, Jackson West, that change can be made.”
And I think that’s a beautiful commentary on, like, the generations and what we’re seeing today. From the back end of Millennials to Gen Z, these kids are really stepping up and stepping out and using their voices and really being confident. I’m not in Gen Z and it has inspired me. Grey comes from a generation where it was better to sit back and be quiet and make change by example, but this generation is like, “OK, we need to make change vocally and right now.” This was a really beautiful depiction of those two worlds colliding and seeing how they could really behoove each other.

TVLINE | I know that Michael Beach (who plays Commander Percy West) is on, like, half the TV shows in the world, but are we going to get a scene with Jackson and his father in the aftermath of this?
Oh, yeah, there’s tons of good old Mr. West. He’s back and forth quite often, so that’s exciting.

TVLINE | And have we seen the last of Doug?
You know what? I don’t know. I genuinely don’t. We’re still filming, and pop people in and stories come up left and right, so I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s more Doug.

TVLINE | The police unions and their lawyers are really tough on this stuff, they will fight it tooth and nail — that’s why it’s hard to get bad cops off the street — so I could see him resurfacing as part of any litigation.
Right, and if we’re staying as accurate with the reality of all that as we have been trying to, then I’m quite positive that Doug will make some type of comeback somehow.

TVLINE | Lastly, what was hardest about this storyline for you, personally?
Just the reality of it all, being in those scenes, in those moments and telling such unfortunately truthful stories. These things haven’t directly happened to me, but just imagining being wrongfully arrested or attacked or having a gun held in your face, just because you’re viewed as a threat, was devastating. I was genuinely with Jackson in some of those moments when it’s like, “Do I try to do what I’ve been taught, or listen to the organic me who wants to defend myself against Doug?” That wear and tear, I definitely felt, and that was hard for me as not Jackson West to not intervene myself and call Doug out.

Grant Tucker said on Twitter: “I will never understand why the makers of The Crown didn’t include the attempted kidnap of Princess Anne in season three.” Season four of The Crown recently came out and fans have eagerly watched the events of the Eighties including the rise and fall of Margaret Thatcher and the marriage of Prince Charles and Princess Diana begin and then fall apart. It also included storylines such as Michael Fagan breaking into Buckingham Palace and Princess Margaret discovering she has two cousins, who she believed to be dead, but are actually alive in a hospital for people with mental disabilities.

However, season three, which covered the time period from 1964 to 1977, would have been a perfect opportunity to depict one of the most dramatic incidents in royal history.

On March 20, 1974, just four months after her royal wedding, Anne was returning to Buckingham Palace with her new husband Captain Mark Phillips after a charity event when their car was forced to stop on Pall Mall.

A Ford Escort had blocked their path and a man called Ian Ball got out and pulled out a handgun.

He shot Anne’s chauffeur, Alex Callender, and her security officer, Jim Beaton, as they each tried to disarm him.

He also shot a passing journalist, Brian McConnell, who also tried to step in to help the princess.

Ball had planned to hold Anne hostage and ask for a £2million or £3million ransom, varyingly reported, which he claimed he was going to give to the NHS, but things did not go as he had hoped.

When he demanded Anne get out of the car, she refused, telling him it was “not bloody likely”.

She continued to negotiate with Ball for time, recalling during a 1980 interview with Michael Parkinson: “We had a sort of discussion about where or where not we were going to go.

“I was scrupulously polite because I thought it was silly to be rude at that stage.”

However, then Ball grabbed her arm and tackled her to the floor of the car where there was a strange tug-of-war between the kidnapper and her husband Mark.

Anne said: “The back of my dress split and that was his most dangerous moment.

“I lost my rag at that stage.”

Eventually, another passerby ‒ a former boxer named Ron Russell ‒ arrived and punched the assailant in the back of the head, allowing Anne to escape.

At that point, Police Constable Michael Hills arrived, and was also shot by Ball, but not before he called for police backup.

Detective Constable Peter Edmonds, who had been nearby, answered the call, gave chase and arrested the attempted kidnapper.

The four men who had been shot were taken to hospital and all recovered from their wounds.

The Queen awarded all who had intervened: Mr Beaton was awarded the George Cross, Mr Russell and PC Hills were awarded the George Medal and Mr Callender, Mr McConnell and DC Edmonds were awarded the Queen’s Gallantry Medal.

Mr Russell also had his mortgage paid off by the Queen.

Princess Anne visited Mr Beaton in hospital to thank him for his assistance.

Following his arrest, Ball pleaded guilty to attempted murder and kidnapping.

As of 2019, he was still being detained at Broadmoor Hospital under the Mental Health Act.

Speaking on the ITV documentary ‘Anne: The Princess Royal at 70’, the Queen’s daughter said: “What is interesting is what you remember and how you remember it.

“Because although I thought I remembered everything that happened I would never have been able to swear I could remember in the right order.

“Because they were like photos, individual snapshots. Very clearly.”

Stunningly, this whole episode was left out of The Crown.

It is also noteworthy that season four did not include another major Princess Anne story, when her love letters were stolen and exposed, and the subsequent separation from her husband, which happened in 1989.

Line of Duty dealt devastating blow as Lisa McQueen star shares unfortunate update https://briefnews.eu/line-of-duty-dealt-devastating-blow-as-lisa-mcqueen-star-shares-unfortunate-update/ https://briefnews.eu/line-of-duty-dealt-devastating-blow-as-lisa-mcqueen-star-shares-unfortunate-update/#respond Mon, 29 Jun 2020 01:34:16 +0000 https://briefnews.eu/line-of-duty-dealt-devastating-blow-as-lisa-mcqueen-star-shares-unfortunate-update/

Line of Duty fans have been waiting eagerly to find out whether the cast and crew of the BBC hit crime drama is back up and filming the highly-anticipated next series after coronavirus shut it all down. But it looks like we’ve got longer to wait than originally thought – “Mother of God” as dear old Ted Hastings (played by Adrian Dunbar) would say.

Series 5 left viewers reeling as we finally found out who H really is.

Well, who they are, because it turned out it was a whole group of them!

And yes, you can give yourself a point if you thought it was one of the three DC Steve Arnott (Martin Compston) and DCI Kate Felming (Vicky McClure) identified as part of the four police staff in league with organised crime – Assistant Chief Constable Derek Hilton, legal counsel Gill Biggeloe and DCI Dot Cottan.

But there’s one more to find and season 6 will hopefully answer all our questions to finally find out the great big mystery.

And while many productions have a date in mind when they will resume filming, it seems Line of Duty doesn’t.

Series 5 introduced us to king(ish) pin Lisa McQueen who is portrayed by Rochenda Sandall, one of the key figures who plays a pivotal figure in a deadly organised crime group alongside Stephen Graham’s character John Corbett.

Near the end of the series, she ended up in police custody and was granted immunity from prosecution in exchange for testimony about senior members of the crime ring.

Speaking to Sunday Brunch’s Simon Rimmer and Tim Lovejoy, Rochenda revealed what the future looks like for the popular drama.

“They were filming the sixth series but they stopped and unfortunately I don’t think that’s going to start until…” she trailed off as she explained screenwriter Jed Mercurio worked in the medical profession before his career in TV and has a good perception as to when it will be a good and safe time to resume filming.

“He has a super awareness of this I imagine. He’s got a wider knowledge than most, so I don’t think he’ll start until its absolutely A-OK to do so.”

“It just means that the fans have got to wait an extra year!”

Trying to make light of the bad news, she said that despite the big wait we have ahead, we’ve all done it before.

DON’T MISS…

“There was a two year break between series] four and five – in think it’s wroth the wait!” she whispered cheekily.

AC-12 had reunited on set earlier this year pre COVID-19 lockdown, with filming photos and behind-the-scenes snaps starting to filter through to our social media feeds, gearing us all up for the return of our favourite Anti Corruption unit.

“We will be back at some point again to get them finished and I hope they’ll be back bigger and better and longer!”, Martin Compston assured fans everywhere when appearing on Good Morning Britain recently.

In mid-May, the BBC shows such as EastEnders and Top Gear were given the all-clear to resume filming from June but creator Jed made it clear that they wouldn’t be rushing back.

Outlander: Jamie Fraser star Sam addresses devastating death ‘He loses part of himself’ https://briefnews.eu/outlander-jamie-fraser-star-sam-addresses-devastating-death-he-loses-part-of-himself/ https://briefnews.eu/outlander-jamie-fraser-star-sam-addresses-devastating-death-he-loses-part-of-himself/#respond Sun, 21 Jun 2020 02:40:59 +0000 https://briefnews.eu/outlander-jamie-fraser-star-sam-addresses-devastating-death-he-loses-part-of-himself/

Throughout the five seasons of Outlander, Jamie (played by Sam Heughan) has had a turbulent time with a lot of heartbreak. He had to kill his uncle Dougal MacKenzie (Graham McTavish) in season two, lost his firstborn daughter Faith with wife Claire (Caitriona Balfe) after she was stillborn. The second season also saw him force Claire to return to the future as she carried their unborn baby Brianna (Sophie Skelton). But perhaps the most heartbreaking moment was watching him say goodbye to his godfather Murtagh Fitzgibbons (Duncan Lacroix) who died in his arms.

Speaking about the storyline, Sam explained the moment was difficult for Jamie as he lost his last connection to Scotland.

“You know, I think the Murtagh storyline, it’s not part of Diana Gabaldon’s books but I think for me and for Jamie it was one of the strongest storylines we’ve had for a while,” he remarked.

“This dichotomy he is in, he’s a man of honour, Murtagh is his blood and Jamie is losing a part of himself, a part of his connection to Scotland, his father figure, someone who has been there since the beginning.

“I know we have all loved not only Duncan Lacroix, who is just one of the greats of the cast of Outlander, but his character as well.

“I think it also brought the regulator story home to the viewer, you could put a face to the two sides and explore the dichotomy Jamie was in.”

But that wasn’t the only storyline Sam felt was tough for Jamie as he added: “Of course, at the end, the scene where Jamie just doing everything and going to battle for Claire was another great storyline.

“That’s the great thing about Outlander, we have huge emotional arcs, each season it seems to get more involved and complicated, it’s a gift for us from the writers and Diana.”

Sam’s comments came as part of a Q&A with Deadline and Caitriona also spoke of the season five finale.

“With this particular storyline, when Matt came to talk to us about it and start talking about disassociation, which is also something which you don’t often see when rape is being handled.

“So we talked a lot with RAINN [Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network] at how we could approach this and also just in terms of making sure we had trigger warnings at the start of the episode.

“You never want to do something like this and not give people the opportunity to kind of go into it with their eyes open and know what they are going to see.”

Caitriona added: “It’s really important to all of us when we approach any kind of subject matter like this that we do do it in the most responsible way possible.”

The actress noted she had to be careful to separate Claire’s life from her own life when it came to tackling tough storylines.

She explained: “I definitely think when you are dealing with really heavy subject matter you know, you do go to quite dark places within yourself.

“I think there’s always a certain amount of purging of it that you have to do.

“But I think the healthiest way to be able to do this job is to also be able to leave these things at the door when you leave during the day.”

Money Heist season 5 theories: Lisbon to betray The Professor in devastating twist https://briefnews.eu/money-heist-season-5-theories-lisbon-to-betray-the-professor-in-devastating-twist/ https://briefnews.eu/money-heist-season-5-theories-lisbon-to-betray-the-professor-in-devastating-twist/#respond Sun, 31 May 2020 06:07:58 +0000 https://briefnews.eu/money-heist-season-5-theories-lisbon-to-betray-the-professor-in-devastating-twist/

For two seasons of Money Heist, Lisbon, first known as Raquel Murillo (played by Itziar Ituño), was working against The Professor (Álvaro Morte) as she tried to apprehend the robbers. However, after falling for The Professor during her working as an Inspector, she decided to leave Spain and move to Thailand with her mother and daughter to live with him. Things were going well until season three when The Professor announced they would rob the Bank of Spain in order to rescue Rio (Miguel Herrán) and Lisbon was roped into helping out.

For much of season three she was seen alongside The Professor as they helped the robbers get into the bank.

They also helped to orchestrate Rio’s release from prison and reunite him with the gang.

However, in the final moments, when the police closed in on The Professor and Lisbon, she was captured.

Lisbon was quickly taken to the police tent outside of the bank in season four where she was interrogated by Alicia Sierra (Najwa Nimri).

READ MORE: Money Heist cancelled: Why was Money Heist nearly cancelled?

Fans saw snippets of the interrogation before she was taken to court and eventually rescued by The Professor.

She went on to join the robbers in the bank when she dropped in from a helicopter which police believed was going to rescue Gandia (José Manuel Poga).

The group were last seen chanting Nairobi’s name as they insisted they would finish the heist in her honour.

However, in a recent interview, Alvaro hinted The Professor would end up alone when the series comes to an end.

Reddit user StudentDoctor 1908 wrote: “He initially did try to carry out a heist without any attachments, either between the band and with himself as well, but that didn’t go down too well, seeing as Nairobi wanted him to be the father of her child.

“So, I don’t think he can leave everything behind: the band who see this as their only family now and Raquel, whom he loves a lot.

“Unless something happens during season 5 and 6 that cause a major fallout such as Raquel betraying him or refusing to follow his plan I don’t think anything will change.”

Meanwhile another noted how Alvaor said the main driver for him was revenge and that could play a part in their separation.

They explained: “While I see the Professor being a vengeful person, I’d like to think he also has some more honourable reasons to do both heists (i.e. defeat a corrupted system, save someone who is part of his newly created family).

“I’d hate for Alicia to be right and prove that he’s actually “a clown with a mask” and not a good person deep down.

“The Professor being a noble nerdy guy is what made me like him in the first place. He’s no Walter White, and he doesn’t have to be. He’s great as he is.”

Could Lisbon betray The Professor from inside the heist and bring out a side of him yet to be seen by fans?

Money Heist seasons 1-4 are available to stream on Netflix now.

Television production around the world has been stalled due to the ongoing outbreak of the coronavirus. As lockdown restrictions continue, The Grand Tour is among the vast list of Amazon Prime series put on hold amid the current uncertainty.

The entertainment industry has recently been dealt some major blows in the ongoing fight to halt the spread of coronavirus.

As non-essential workers are being advised to stay indoors and work from home whenever possible, filming and post-production has been stopped for popular TV series.

Amazon Prime’s The Grand Tour was no exception, and the ongoing fourth season is set to experience a major delay due to the current restrictions.

As well as restricting people to their homes, world leaders have also put a stop to commercial flights around the globe.

READ MORE: Jeremy Clarkson speaks out on daughter’s wedding: ‘Bit worrying’

The Grand Tour star Jeremy Clarkson recently revealed the team were planning on travelling to Russia for the third episode.

Sadly, the trip was set to take place in March and was swiftly cancelled when the coronavirus outbreak began to spread.

Speaking to the DriveTribe podcast, Jeremy said: “The only real problem we had is we were supposed to have gone to Russia two weeks ago to film the next one but that really wasn’t possible.

“Well it might have been possible to get there but it sure as hell wouldn’t have been possible to get back.”

Jeremy was also able to confirm some bad news regarding series producer Andy Millman.

Currently, episode two’s trip to Madagascar consists of more than 1,000 hours of raw footage, but the producer has been unable to complete the episode due to contracting the coronavirus earlier this year.

Jeremy added: “The producer of the show, Andy Wilman, who also edits it for months and months and months… he had to take to his bed a few weeks ago with this weird new flu.

“Barely able to breathe, I’m not actually making this up, barely able to breathe then he coughed his spleen out on a number of occasions.”

Thankfully, producer Andy has since recovered from the virus, but current lockdown restrictions means he won’t be able to complete the final edit for episode two until the rules have been lifted.

The producer confirmed: “Then there’s three more months of shaping it because, as you know, we set off without a script. Then there’s all the back and forth and that’s before Amazon gets it. They keep it for five weeks.”

Although filming in Madagascar had been completed, it may be some time before Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammon and James May’s trip to the East African island will finally become available on Amazon.

The Grand Tour season 4 returns to Amazon Prime Video in 2020.

Piers Morgan warned Britons that the economic impact of the coronavirus could be more devastating than the 2008 financial crash. The Good Morning Britain host told viewers that the COVID-19 pandemic was on a “completely different level” to the global crisis more than a decade ago. Financial Times Economic Editor Chris Giles agreed as he revealed the likelihood of the country bouncing back quickly to the ITV show.

Mr Morgan said: “We thought the financial crash was bad 12 years ago, this is on a completely different level.

“From a financial point of view, this is Armageddon.”

Mr Giles added: “We haven’t seen anything like this in 100 years in the UK.

“The estimates are that we’ve lost about a third of the economy in March and April alone.”

He continued: “We will get some of it back quickly once the lockdown is lifted.

“But to get that back in any sort of quick timescale is going to be difficult.”

The Office for Budget Responsibility (OBR) warned earlier that the coronavirus pandemic could see the UK economy shrink by a record 35 percent by June.

The well-informed guess predicts that two million people are likely to lose their jobs.

She continued: “At the same time, it expects Government spending to be £88billion higher than it had previously expected.

“Government spending will be 52 percent of gross domestic product. That’s the highest since 1945.

“It does make the point that once restrictions are lifted after three months, then there will be no lasting damage to growth.

“Also, they keep talking about how this is a scenario. In other words, this is something that could play out if a certain number of things happened in a certain way.

“It’s not a prediction of this is definitely going to happen.”

Coronation Street spoilers: Ken Barlow ‘homeless’ as Tracy makes devastating discovery https://briefnews.eu/coronation-street-spoilers-ken-barlow-homeless-as-tracy-makes-devastating-discovery/ https://briefnews.eu/coronation-street-spoilers-ken-barlow-homeless-as-tracy-makes-devastating-discovery/#respond Tue, 28 Apr 2020 21:51:24 +0000 https://briefnews.eu/coronation-street-spoilers-ken-barlow-homeless-as-tracy-makes-devastating-discovery/

Ken (played by William Roache) has been a pinnacle figure of Coronation Street since the show began airing six decades ago and has always resided at his beloved No.1. Recent months have seen him up sticks and join partner Claudia Colby (Rula Lenska) at the Stillwaters retirement complex, only for the pair to split during last week’s episodes of the ITV soap when he decided the cobbles was where he belonged. However, with daughter Tracy Barlow (Kate Ford) now the lady of the manor, could a discovery about the property in the latest instalment of the Weatherfield-based drama reveal the stalwart could have no home at all?

After it was revealed in the soap’s 10,000th episode Ken was moving on, his children Tracy and Peter Barlow (Chris Gascoyne) began bidding on who would claim their childhood home as their own.

It was eventually the former and her husband Steve McDonald (Simon Gregson) who got their hands on No.1, moving in with daughter Amy Barlow (Elle Mulvaney) when the stalwart began living at Stillwaters.

Following his split from Claudia, however, the Weatherfield icon returned to what is his daughter’s home last week and it already seemed he was a stranger in what was once his house.

As he tried to settle back into a routine during Monday evening’s episode, having been demoted to somewhat of a guest, a dispute about who the owner of the property is could lead the soap legend to end up on the streets.

At the beginning of the episode, it was revealed there was a problem with the boiler as Amy had a cold shower and didn’t hold back in letting her mother and grandfather know how she felt about the issue.

Tracy then called on a plumber to come and have a look, who explained there was something wrong and it would cost a fair bit to fix.

After sending the maintenance man away, the florist voiced her anguish to her father, telling him: “Did you hear how much it’s all going to cost? The best part of two and a half grand.”

Ken replied: “Well, I’m sorry to hear it’s going to cost so much, but don’t expect me to put my hand in my pocket.”

“Oh, I wouldn’t dare, dad,” Tracy hit back, adding: “I’d be too scared a load of moths would fly out.

“But it is your responsibility,” she told her father, to which he asked: “Oh yeah, how do you work that out?”

“Well, you’re the one who keeps banging on about how the house is still yours,” his daughter explained.

“You made it perfectly clear that the house very much belongs to you and to you alone, so actually Tracy, over to you,” the stalwart remarked, pushing the responsibility back onto her shoulders.

Adding his pennies worth in, Peter said: “He’s right, you did say that,” to which Tracy’s reply wasn’t too pleasant given her brother was defending their father.

With it looking ever more likely the florist will have to foot the bill for the boiler repairs, she could take action against Ken’s reluctance to help.

Given she believes she is the owner of No.1 Coronation Street, the manipulating character could decide she no longer wants Ken living under her roof.

If his daughter really does throw him out for failing to pay up, will the stalwart end up homeless as he has nowhere else to go?

Could this have been the big storyline Executive Producer Iain MacLeod was hinting at when he said a “horrifically difficult” sequence of events would bestow upon the Barlow household?

Speaking with Metro.co.uk, the soap boss said: “Having re-established Steve and Tracy’s relationship on its strongest footing, something will happen that probably has the most far-reaching impact of any story we’ve done since I’ve been on the show.”

With nowhere to live, will the soap stalwart end up going missing and leave his family and his neighbours in turmoil over his wellbeing?

Or will the pensioner fight back and reclaim No.1 as his own, forcing Tracy to move back to her old flat with Steve and Amy?

Coronation Street continues Wednesday at 7:30pm on ITV.

Emmerdale spoilers: Zak Dingle replaced as Sam Dingle makes devastating decision https://briefnews.eu/emmerdale-spoilers-zak-dingle-replaced-as-sam-dingle-makes-devastating-decision/ https://briefnews.eu/emmerdale-spoilers-zak-dingle-replaced-as-sam-dingle-makes-devastating-decision/#respond Sat, 14 Mar 2020 20:09:43 +0000 https://briefnews.eu/emmerdale-spoilers-zak-dingle-replaced-as-sam-dingle-makes-devastating-decision/

Zak (played by Steve Halliwell) was last seen on Emmerdale six months ago following the tragic death of his late wife, Lisa Dingle (Jane Cox). In the wake of his heartbreak, he found himself rekindling a former romance with Faith Dingle (Sally Dexter), but his love for his beloved led him to make an exit to get his head together. The Dingle clan has been in quite a bit of turmoil since he’s been away and it looks like he’s about to be replaced. With Sam (James Hooton) calling the shots on the ITV soap next week, it seems their leader may have lost his role in the family.

Since his leave of absence, the Wishing Well Cottage has been occupied by Sam, his fiancé Lydia Hart (Karen Blick) and son Samson Dingle (Sam Hall).

With Zak away, they opened their home up to cousin Mandy Dingle (Lisa Riley) and her surrogate son, Vinny (Bradley Johnson), after they arrived back in the Dales last year.

Upcoming scenes will see the husband and wife-to-be betrayed when the youngster steals a wedding ring and tries to get some cash for it at the pawnbrokers.

Livid with the stranger who has integrated himself into the family, Sam makes a devastating decision which seems him take on the role of clan leader.

The soap has released some teasers ahead of next week’s episodes on their website, with Tuesday’s showing the dramatic repercussions of Vinny stealing.

With a games console in hand, it seems Sam is hellbent on revenge after he’s convinced the youngster has sold his wedding ring.

Seeing to the pigs outside the cottage, Lydia and Samson are concerned when they see their loved one acting uncharacteristically.

“Sam, where you going with that?” his fiancé asks, to which he replies: “Taking it to the pawnbrokers, see how he likes it.”

With his son objecting to the extreme measures, Sam rages as he says: “It were my wedding ring, didn’t stop him. Besides, this would still be broken if he hadn’t of robbed from us.”

“Come on Sam, be the bigger man. Put it all back,” Lydia tells him, but her words fall on deaf ears as he hits back: “Why should I? No, see how he likes someone stealing from him.”

Seeing Mandy and Vinny walking towards them, Samson exclaims: “Mandy, stop him. He’s taking all of Vinny’s stuff to the pawnbrokers.”

Hoping to change her cousin’s mind, the shifty character tells him the youngster has got the ring back from the pawnbroker.

Convinced kind-hearted Sam will let bygones be bygones, Mandy is gobsmacked when her cousin tells her he wants Vinny out the house.

“You don’t mean that,” she replies, to which Lydia explains her fiancé is now head honcho and not Zak, given he’s been away for a while.

“Until Zak’s back, it’s Sam who decides who lives here,” she remarks, leaving the youngster out on his whim.

However, the clan leader is set to make his return in the coming weeks, so how will he feel about his son replacing him?

The temporary exit for Zak was written in to coincide with actor Steve, 65, undergoing a heart operation last year.

Only last month, The Sun reported the soap star was already back on set and filming his return scenes for the coming weeks.

A source told the publication: “Steve’s back on set and is already filming scenes for Zak’s return to the show.

“Fans will have missed him – he’s a show legend after all – and he’ll be back on their screens in a few weeks time. He’s having a great time back on set and everyone was really pleased to see him at work.”

Emmerdale continues Monday at 7pm on ITV.

White House Farm: Huge ‘inaccuracy’ in devastating ITV drama revealed – did you spot it? https://briefnews.eu/white-house-farm-huge-inaccuracy-in-devastating-itv-drama-revealed-did-you-spot-it/ https://briefnews.eu/white-house-farm-huge-inaccuracy-in-devastating-itv-drama-revealed-did-you-spot-it/#respond Thu, 23 Jan 2020 22:28:52 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/white-house-farm-huge-inaccuracy-in-devastating-itv-drama-revealed-did-you-spot-it/

Posting in a Facebook group, he said: “In TV dramas there is always ‘artistic licence’, however when a drama is based on real events and claimed to have been thoroughly researched you would expect a degree of accuracy.

“On the ITV drama White House Farm, which is based on a tragic real life event in Essex in 1985, a large part of the story concerns the police response and investigation.

“It’s quite frustrating to see that no effort was made to research Essex Police vehicles at the time. In 1985, Essex Police had very distinctive markings on their vehicles and primarily used Ford vehicles such as the Granada and Sierra (though there were a few Maestro pandas and of course Range Rovers on the motorways).”
