Ready to rock the vote, Masked Singer fans?

Season 4 of the Fox reality series will allow fans to vote from home in order to affect the show’s outcome, our sister site Deadline reports… but that doesn’t mean that you’ll be able to call a number or pull up an app to decide who’s booted from each episode.

The show’s Facebook feed recently began reaching out to passionate fans, who were encouraged to register for the chance to “witness all-new performances and vote for your favorites.” We hear that the show is planning to have those fans (aka not everyone who’s watching on the night the show airs) be part of a virtual audience that will help determine each week’s castoff.

Though reality competitions like American Idol, America’s Got Talent, Dancing With the Stars and The Voice have long used fan voting to determine winners, all of those air live performance shows. The first two seasons of Fox’s costumed singing contest were pre-taped well before they aired, making home voting impossible.

Instead, per our sister site Gold Derby, the audiences at those tapings voted for their favorite performers while seated in the theater; that input was then paired with the judges’ votes to figure out who was going home at the end of the hour.

The series, which started production on Season 4 today,  is slated to return to its Wednesdays-at-8/7c time slot this fall. A premiere date has not been announced yet.

  • The F-22 Raptor stealth fighter jets left behind at Tyndall Air Base, which was devastated by Hurricane Michael’s rampage across Florida, will be inspected by Lockheed Martin structural engineers.
  • Tyndall Air Base serves as a critical training and maintenance ground for about 50 F-22s, or nearly a third of all of the ultra-capable, ultra-expensive air superiority jets. 
  • Initial reports indicated as many as 17 of the stealth jets, worth over $ 1 billion, had been damaged, but newer assessments say the damage was much less severe, and the planes can likely be salvaged. 
  • Some of the F-22s made it out, but with the US’s top F-22 training grounds wiped nearly off the map, it’s unclear when the US’s top fighter will get back on track. 

The F-22 Raptor stealth fighter jets left behind at Tyndall Air Base when Hurricane Michael damaged or destroyed virtually every building on site will be visited by structural engineers from Lockheed Martin, the defense contractor tweeted.

Tyndall Air Base serves as a critical training and maintenance ground for about 50 F-22s, or nearly a third of all of the world’s most capable air superiority jets near Panama City, Florida, Dallas News, who first reported the story, said.

If you rely on ridesharing for work trips, you might have experienced that moment of panic where you accidentally expensed a personal trip to your business account, or paid from your own funds to get to the airport for a company flight. Uber thinks it can set your mind at ease by introducing a profile recommendation system that uses machine learning to help you switch between business and personal accounts in its mobile app. The AI technology can detect travel patterns and predict which account you’re most likely to need at any given moment. If you usually visit a regional office but have the day off, the app may ask about switching to a personal account when you request a trip to the spa.

It’s not a flawless system — Uber said the initial suggestion is right 80 percent of the time. You can always override the suggestion, though, and just getting that suggestion may prevent a slip-up.

Uber is also improving the oversight for those trips. Companies can designate trip reviewers to study rides for individual staffers or entire teams. Instead of having to rely on a dedicated travel manager, a business could rely on those who know the most about workers’ travel patterns (say, a department leader). Employees can tackle disputes inside the app, rather than waiting for email.

On top of all this, there’s now a wider list of expense service integrations that includes the likes of Expensya and Zoho Expense.

The aim for these upgrades is clear: Uber wants to be seen as a trustworthy option for work trips. The less friction there is when hailing Uber for business uses, the more likely companies may be to use it as their go-to travel option. Not that you’ll necessarily complain if this helps you avoid the hassles that sometimes come up with taxis and airport shuttles.

The Belgium international has strongly been linked with a move to Real Madrid in recent months with the La Liga giants expected to spend big in the summer.

Florentino Perez will be aiming to return to the top of Spanish football after Barcelona’s huge outlay on Ousmane Dembele and Philippe Coutinho.

And Hazard is top of his wish-list at the Bernabeu while Harry Kane is another potential target.

Chelsea return to the big stage on Tuesday night when they host Barcelona in the first of two legs in their Champions League last-16 tie.

Hazard was rested in Chelsea’s FA Cup win over Hull on Friday, meaning he will be fresh heading into the game.

But Liverpool legend Souness believes Real will be watching intently to see how Hazard performs against Barcelona.

“The damage Eden Hazard does to Barcelona in Chelsea’s last-16 meeting with the Catalan club in the Champions League could determine whether Real Madrid make a summer move for him,” Souness told the Sunday Times. 

“How many possible replacements for Cristiano Ronaldo are out there — players who start from the left then drift in to create chances and score goals? Neymar, perhaps, if he is already tired of French football, and Hazard.

“The Belgian has just turned 27 and is six years younger than Ronaldo. He fits the bill for Real and, if they really want him, there is only one outcome. 

“They will be in the market for the very best that might be available this summer and he comes into that category. Hazard will be aware Real will be looking at how he performs against Barça because their head-to-heads against them usually decide who wins La Liga.

“To have any hope of keeping Hazard, and maybe Thibaut Courtois too, Chelsea must be in the Champions League next season. 

“With Antonio Conte clearly disenchanted as their manager, they have a fight on their hands to finish in the top four and will have to be at their best to stand any chance against Barcelona. 

“They need Hazard bang at it, Courtois making special saves and everyone else chipping in.”
