American Horror Story: 1984 reached its bloody conclusion on Wednesday with a massive time jump, a few oddly romantic twists and some well-deserved (not to mention thoroughly disgusting) justice. First things first: That fan theory about Finn Wittrock playing a grown-up version of Jingles’ son was 100-percent correct. The finale began by jumping ahead to 2019, where Bobby Richter arrived at Camp Redwood — what was left of it, anyway — in search of answers about his father. As Montana explained, she hadn’t seen any newcomers since “that s–t show in ’89,” presumably referring to Margaret’s food and wine (and murder!) festival. In a somewhat surprising display of empathy, she then warned the handsome traveler that “everyone you see here is likely to kill you.” Montana then introduced Bobby to Trevor, who was very disappointed (understandably so) to learn that aerobics has become “kind of a joke” in 2019. Trevor and Montana then returned the favor, disappointing Bobby by informing him that his father was dead. “He came here to do good, but dark forces took him away,” she explained. Bobby was sure that the anonymous checks he’d been receiving all his life were coming from his father, so he was pretty crushed by this news. Then again, the sudden discovery that he was in the presence of literal ghosts took his mind off of that pretty quickly. Then came the real fun: We jumped back to Halloween 1989, where poor Courtney was the first to go. Margaret’s assistant informed her that Trevor was turning people away from the festival after learning of Kajagoogoo’s grim fate, sending her into such a blind rage that she literally shot the messenger. Margaret then turned her anger — and her gun — towards Trevor, shooting him in his baby elephant trunk and leaving him for dead outside of the campgrounds. (“Thanks for nothing, f–kface!”) Montana begged her beloved sex doll to crawl his way across the border, ensuring that they’d remain together for eternity, but he simply didn’t have the energy. Fortunately, Brooke showed up just in time to drag his dying body into camp because she’s a good person, damn it! As Montana recalled, Brooke’s unexpected act of kindness changed everything. Not only did the ghosts formally end their killing spree, but they also took care of Margaret’s loose ends; they killed Bruce outside of Camp Redwood, ridding themselves of his goofy mustache for good, while Richard’s brutal demise went down in the confines of the camp. The ghosts have spent the last three decades keeping Richard at bay… until now. With the guards distracted — Chet just couldn’t resist Bertie’s seductive ways — Satan was able to intervene, freeing Richard from confinement and nearly killing Bobby once and for all. Per a tip from the ghosts, Bobby ventured to Red Meadows Asylum, where Donna filled in a few blanks from Halloween 1989 — the night she became the final girl! After Brooke died (boo!) fighting Margaret, the ghosts teamed up against the nefarious camp director, literally cutting her limb from limb before tossing her various parts into a wood chipper. (It was gross. And glorious. But mostly gross.) After processing this heartwarming tale, Bobby thanked Donna for sending him the money. After all, who else could have been filling his bank account? Well, it turns out Donna wasn’t the final girl. Brooke has been living undercover this whole time, eating Splenda by the barrel full with her handsome dermatologist husband. She barely survived her scuffle with Margaret, just enough that Ray was able to fix up her wound and send her on her way. “I needed to believe that a normal life was possible after Camp Redwood, a glimmer of hope after all that darkness,” Brooke told Bobby. “Your dad was that for me.” She said she sent him money so that he might be free of “that awful legacy.” Donna and Brooke also agreed to both be the final girl. (Yay!) Then came the most unexpected twist of all: A happy ending. Bobby returned to Camp Redwood in search of his father (again!), and although Margaret nearly killed him in the process, he still got to give Papa Jingles a big ol’ hug. When Margaret made a brief comeback, Lavinia materialized to put her in her place. “Leave him alone,” she commanded. “He deserves a happy ending.” And so, Bobby departed Camp Redwood once and for all… with the ghosts of his father, grandmother and tiny uncle reunited… and Mike & The Mechanics’ “The Living Years” playing in the background. It was… lovely? What did you think of the AHS: 1984 finale? Grade the episode below, then drop a comment with your full review.

If you read that headline and thought, “Wait, London Fields was adapted into a movie?”, you’re not the only one. A film version starring Billy Bob Thornton, Amber Heard, and Jim Sturgess was released in theaters this past weekend, made only $ 168,575, and received a rare 0% score on Rotten Tomatoes. That puts it in the not-so-esteemed company of movies like Gotti, The Ridiculous 6, Bucky Larson: Born to Be a Star, and Superbabies: Baby Geniuses 2.
But here’s the thing: while many directors would take umbrage at such a critical pummeling, London Fields director Mathew Cullen admits that he’s read the reviews and he agrees with them. Read more about the notoriously troubled production below.
“I’ve read the reviews. I agree with them,” Cullen told The Hollywood Reporter in a piece that details the problems the film experienced over the years. Filmed back in 2013 and mired in legal battles ever since, London Fields was originally going to be directed by David Cronenberg (and later, Michael Winterbottom) before Cullen came on board. The movie is based on Martin Amis‘ beloved 1989 novel. Here’s the red band trailer from the movie’s distributor, a company I’ve never heard of called GVN Releasing:
“There’s a reason why they said that Amis’ book was unadaptable,” Cullen said, pointing to the difficultly of translating the tone of the whodunit murder mystery novel. You can read all of the details over at THR, but creative visions clashed and lawsuits were filed. Star Amber Heard was sued for $ 10 million for “allegedly breaching performance and promotional obligations,” but she countersued, saying that “racy scenes with a body double had exploited her sexually” and that the producer’s cut of the movie violated the nudity rider in her contract.
Strangely, there is a producer’s cut and a director’s cut playing separately in theaters right now. The producer’s cut was savaged by critics oversees when it played in Russia, but that didn’t stop the producers from screening that version to more critics and making it the default version that’s getting the wider release here in the U.S. Cullen eventually worked out a deal to get his own cut of the movie to play in a few select theaters, but I can’t imagine anyone selling tickets at theaters would know which cut they were showing.
Here’s more:
Cullen consciously chose to get murdered by critics. Now considering retiring from feature films, he says, “Under DGA rules, I could have used a pseudonym, but in that process, I wouldn’t ever be allowed to talk about the film again and I wouldn’t have had the ability to release my version of the film.”
Sounds like a nightmare, and it’s easy to understand why Cullen, a music video director who made his feature directorial debut with London Fields, would be so put off by the experience that he’s thinking about abandoning features altogether.
London Fields is still playing in a few theaters in the country, should you be curious enough to want to seek it out.

In the first season of Hell’s Kitchen UK, Amanda clashed with Gordon, prompting the actress to try and hit the chef’s face.
Speaking to her fellow contestants in Channel 5’s Big Brother house this evening, Amanda admitted that she is “not proud” of her actions.
Amanda explained: “In Hell’s Kitchen I was removed. I hit Gordon Ramsay. He stopped me just there. But yes, he deserved it.
“Anyway I won’t go into that. But that is public knowledge. I’m not proud of it.
“I wasn’t meant to go into where they were at that moment and then he called me over and got me completely off guard and called me a stupid actress or something.”
The clip from the episode in 2004 sees Gordon asking why Amanda feels she has to show off.
He asks: “Does it make you feel better shouting in front of the blue team? Is it that you have to show off?”
Snapping, Amanda burst into a rage and lashed out towards Gordon’s face, screaming: “How bl**dy f*****g dare you!”
Grabbing hold of her arm just in time to defend his face, Gordon said: “Don’t be stupid! Don’t be so stupid. Don’t be so stupid. Calm down.”
Amanda added: “I’m not showing off. I am tired!”
Celebrity Big Brother continues tomorrow on Channel 5 at 9pm.

Boston-area sports radio host Michael Felger has come under fire after a segment in which he criticized MLB pitcher Roy Halladay for his fatal plane crash on Tuesday.
Felger and co-host Tony Massarotti of 98.5 The Sports Hub ridiculed the 40-year-old Halladay for flying an ICON A5, a single-engine, two-seater plane, in a “cavalier” way. TMZ released video showing Halladay flying the plane at low altitudes and dive-bombing above the water in the Gulf of Mexico before the crash.
“It just sort of angers me,” Felger said. “You care that little about your life? About the life of your family?”
Felger continued, mocking Halladay’s desire to fly the plane in an extreme way.
“He’s not a militarily trained pilot, he’s not a professionally trained pilot, he’s a Joe Q. Citizen who buys a plane that folds up and you can put in your garage and that’s amphibious, you can land on the water” Felger said. “‘Wee! Oh look, I just landed on the water, everybody! I’m going to tweet it!’ Splat. You’re dead. With two kids. Moron.”
Massarotti added, “Once you see the video, it is hard to look at it and say, ‘This is a tragedy.”
Felger responded: “I didn’t need the video. Jackass.”
Felger compared Halladay’s death to Steve Irwin, “The Crocodile Hunter,” who was stung by a stingray in 2006, and to Dale Earnhardt, who died in a NASCAR accident.
Video from October showed Halladay and his wife, Brandy, flying in the plane. Brandy said she did not want Halladay to purchase the plane, saying: “I fought hard. I was very against it.”
“I went helicopter skiing once,” Felger said, adding, “If I die helicopter skiing, you have the right to do the exact same thing I’m doing to Roy Halladay. He got what he deserved.”
The segment caused backlash among many who felt the comments were insensitive.

@985TheSportsHub I’m rooting for Michael Felger’s firing with the same passion he roots for football players to get CTE & Tri-Athletes to all have heart attacks & die.

Wonder if Felger thinks Gordon Hayward deserved a broken ankle because he was jumping around being a moron? https://t.co/Go7cSU5hUZ

It really doesn’t get much lower than what Mike Felger had to say about Roy Halladay’s death. Just awful. https://t.co/BszO0HWmol pic.twitter.com/hpZMgOXEtB
Former Red Sox infielder Kevin Youkilis also reacted:

Michael Felger has and will always be a low life behind the microphone!!! #classless #RIPDoc https://t.co/8258hL3vbn
Felger has thus far remained on the air and the station has not commented on the segment.
The National Transportation Safety Board is conducting an investigation into the accident and a report is expected in the next week. Halladay was 40.

This is a Dark Matter indeed: Syfy has cancelled the comic book-inspired sci-fi drama after three seasons and 39 episodes, TVLine has confirmed.
The series, based on the comic book by Joseph Mallozzi and Paul Mullie (who co-created and exec-produced the TV adaptation), premiered in 2015. It revolved around six apparent strangers who awoke aboard a spaceship with no knowledge of who they were or how they got there.
“It is with great sadness that I confirm the news,” Mallozzi said Friday in a blog post. “To say that I’m incredibly disappointed would be an understatement… I just want to extend a heartfelt thanks to my amazing crew, my wonderful cast, and to all of you, our incredible fans. You all deserved better.”
The show’s third and final season wrapped last week with what will now function as its series finale.

Boxing: Jeff Horn has spoken 24 hours after defeating Manny Pacquiao.

The fight could have gone either way.
I SCORED the fight 115-113 in favour of Manny Pacquiao, but I have no problems with Jeff Horn being awarded victory and there are a few reasons why.
First, this was a close fight in almost everyone’s eyes.
Pacquiao’s team thought he won a close decision, Horn’s camp thought their man got it by a whisker.
I had a ringside view at Suncorp Stadium, others would have had sharper views and better angles on television, but without question this was a fight that went down to the wire.
It is unacceptable to see one judge, Waleska Roldan, award the fight 117-111 to Horn.

This was a close fight and the decision could have gone either way.Source:AFP
Even Horn’s team acknowledges he did not win nine rounds of this world title fight.
While I had it in the opposite direction, I can understand how those scores were made, because many of the middle rounds were close enough to go either way.
Secondly, in a bout this tight, intent counts for a lot.
And where Horn deserves credit is that he pushed the pace of this fight.
He brought the tussle to Pacquiao, who unusually became the counter-puncher rather than using his trademark style, which is to be a stalking aggressor.
Horn was the man doing most of the stalking, throwing more combinations, walking Pacquiao back to the ropes and unleashing more power shots.
Many have pointed to the CompuBox numbers that had Pacquiao outlanding Horn in clean shots by 182 punches to 92.

Looking at these numbers, it seems outlandish that Horn could have won this bout.
But Compubox themselves recognise that raw numbers alone cannot be the unquestionable authority on fight results.
“The stats are tracked by two human operators with one operator tracking stats for each fighter,” said CompuBox, widely recognised as the most reliable source of statistics for boxing events.
“The operators are extensively trained to watch a fight differently than a normal fan would. Each operator concentrates on only one fighter and not the fight as a whole to accurately track the stats.
“The CompuBox stats in no way, shape or form, determine a winner of a fight. The stats are used to enhance a telecast, show the estimated barometer of activity by both fighters and paint a picture of the activity on a round-by-round basis.

Computers say Pacquiao landed more punches but it didn’t tell the whole story.Source:AAP
“Even though our database of over 7000 fights (and counting) shows that a fighter that throws and lands more punches will win 90 per cent of the time, the 10-point judging system clearly is the only way to determine winners in a fight.”
While I saw Pacquiao landing the cleaner punches, Horn impressed the judges with his relentless activity, enough to edge many of the close rounds including the fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh, 11th and 12th.
When you’re pushing forward as Horn was, judges unsure of who landed the better punches will often lean towards the guy who threw more, and statistics showed Horn throwing 625 punches to Pacquiao’s 573.
Pacquiao threw most of his punches from short distances, moving into the contact zone before unloading.

Horn, the bigger man with the longer reach, was able to connect with punches from a further distance, while maintaining pressure in the closer encounters too, showed that he was not prepared to be outworked in any area of the ring or the fight.
Finally, this was truly a heroic effort from Horn.
The battering he endured in the ninth round from Pacquiao, when Horn was rocked by several hard hooks and was out on his feet, would have finished lesser men — some who hold world title belts.
The referee threatened to call off the fight in the 10th round if Horn didn’t fight back. Horn’s father wanted to throw in the towel but couldn’t find it.

Somehow, some way, Horn recovered and not only survived, but thrived in the final three rounds.
He sought Pacquiao out for engagement, and the ageing Filipino warrior just didn’t have the killer instinct he once had to knock out his pesky rival.
This was Horn showing the heart of a champion. He took Pacquiao’s best shots, refused to fall, and came back swinging.
When you get the chance to dethrone a champion and a legend, this is how you must do it.

Last year, Fiat heir Lapo Elkann’s Garage Italia Customs created an i3 and an i8 with fancy patterned paint jobs, but now, Elkann has really outdone himself. For a furniture show in Milan (seriously), Elkann and Garage Italia created an i3 and i8 that pay tribute to 1980s furniture maker Memphis Style. The cars are fantastic.
–
–
You wouldn’t necessarily think that a wild 1980s color palette would work on futuristic cars like the i3 and i8, but somehow, it fits beautifully. The interiors, with their mix of colorful leather and microsuede, are especially great. Bring back striped seats.
–
–
In a press release, BMW said it took Garage Italia five weeks to conceive and paint the two cars, and in some places, there are eight layers of paint. You won’t be able to walk into a BMW dealer and order a car like this, but take your car to Garage Italia, and the artists there will do it for you.

Honestly, we don’t have much more to say about these. Just enjoy the pictures.
