Mexican judge Alejandro Rochin scored the fight in Wilder’s favour despite the feeling that Fury had down enough after rising from the canvas TWICE, including in the 12th round.

And Fury wants him out of the sport and has told him to go to Specsavers.

He said: “I’ve never seen a worse decision in my life.

“I don’t know what fight that judge that gave it 115-111 was watching. That judge needs banning.

READ MORE: JUDGES GOT IT WRONG… WHO REALLY WON?

“He needs sacking or to go to Specsavers.

“Stuff like that gives boxing a bad name.

“I haven’t seen as bad a decision since the first Lennox Lewis and Evander Holyfield fight.

“The world knows who the real WBC champion is. Wilder has had a gift decision in his home country.

“He must be thanking his lucky stars that he still has the green and gold belt. That belt belongs to me, Tyson Fury.”

Former world heavyweight king Lennox Lewis also agreed, he said: “It happened to me and I knew it was going to happen to him. Everybody could see who won.”

Fury was also angered by British judge Phil Edwards for scoring the fight a draw at 113-113.

The Brit’s promoter Frank Warren called the decision a “robbery” and said they will be writing to the WBC to request a rematch.

The WBC will sit down in the coming weeks to discuss the matter and vote on whether to force Wilder into a rerun with Fury.

The Manchester-born fighter remained unbeaten after he somehow got off the canvas in the last round after a right hand and left hook left him flat on his back.

And now he wants the chance to do it again.

Fury said: “Getting off the canvas is what true champions do. You can’t stop me getting up. I’m like a phoenix rising from the ashes. We want the rematch now.”

Warren is keen to bring the second fight to the UK and Wilder’s co-manager Shelly Finkel is happy for his man to travel.

But there is also the matter of WBA, WBO and IBF champion Anthony Joshua and Finkel is expecting a call from his promoter Eddie Hearn.

He said: “Anything is a possibility. We will see if the guy (Eddie Hearn) calls us.

“Maybe Joshua will think my guy is not so good and will want to fight him now.”

Tyson Fury FLOORED by Deontay Wilder TWICE with rematch on cards after controversial DRAW https://briefnews.eu/tyson-fury-floored-by-deontay-wilder-twice-with-rematch-on-cards-after-controversial-draw/ https://briefnews.eu/tyson-fury-floored-by-deontay-wilder-twice-with-rematch-on-cards-after-controversial-draw/#respond Sun, 02 Dec 2018 10:57:53 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/tyson-fury-floored-by-deontay-wilder-twice-with-rematch-on-cards-after-controversial-draw/

Wilder downed Fury in the ninth round of their heavyweight contest at the Staples Center in the early hours of Sunday morning.

And the American put Fury to the canvas in the 12th too – before Fury heroically got back to his feet to soldier on.

To that point, Fury had appeared to dominate but Wilder’s dramatic late surge looked to have stolen it.

Except Fury had other ideas. The man who says he has made the ‘greatest comeback ever’ in even making it to the ring refused to throw in the towel as he battled it through to the bell.

Once the 12th was over, Fury stomed round the ring in celebration in a clear sign he felt he had won. Wilder, meanwhile, barely let out a whimper.

Fury kissed his opponent and told him he ‘loved him’ in emotional scenes between two men who have all the respect in the world for one another.

There were moments of confusion with scorecards being handed back and forth with the verdict clearly a close one.

It was then it was announced as a draw, with the first judge giving it 115-111 to Wilder, the second one as 114-112 to Fury and the third judge Phil Edwards of England calling it 113-113.

It means the two are now set for a dramatic rematch – possibly in America – for what many are dubbing ‘the greatest fight ever’.

Wilder, however, was adamant he won the fight: “With the two knockdowns I definitely won. I don’t think he had control.

“I wasn’t hurt. I did not sit still, I was too hesitant, I started overthrowing the right hand. I was forcing my punches too much.

“I don’t know if it (a rematch) will be my next fight but would love it to be. We need to do it again.”

While Fury vowed to fight Wilder again: “We’re on away soil, I got knocked down but I still believe I won the fight. I’m showing total professionalism. Thank you for the opportunity D, God bless you.

“The Gypsy King has returned. God bless America. I’m a professional athlete who loves to fight. He is a fearsome fighter. The world knows the truth. Thank you to every fan around the world.

“I’m a fighting man and Jesus has his control over me so I was never going to get knocked out. I came here tonight and fought my heart out. That is the second best heavyweight apart from me. We are both going home to our family safe.

“I’ve been away from my family for 10 weeks and just want to spend some time with them over Christmas.”

On a rematch, Fury said: “One hundred per cent we will do the rematch. We’re the best two heavyweights in the planet. There is another heavyweight who is a chicken. (Anthony) Joshua where are you?”

But Fury’s trainer Ben Davison was left furious at the decision and fumed: “They have just taken away the biggest comeback in sports history. You have to be a sick, sick man to do that.

“I told Tyson before the fight he would beat him with his left hand. We didn’t come here for money to get through the fight we came here to win and I’m sick and gutted. Deontay is a very dangerous opponent after the 12 months we have had we need a break.”

Promoter Frank Warren was adamant that Fury won it by three rounds – even if he was surprised Fury returned to his feet after the 12th-round trip to the canvas.

“I thought he (Fury) had won it by three rounds,” Warren told BT Sport.

“When you think of what he has come from to be here. It is the art of hitting and not getting hit. I didn’t think he was going to get up (in the 12th) but at the end of the round he was pushing him back.

“It is a draw but everyone knows he won it and we will want to do a rematch. How could a fight like this not be a rematch? It is unfinished business. He won that. He won that fight and everyone knows it.

“In Britain that is an 80,000 job. Vegas will be drooling for this. When was the last time you saw a great fight in USA. Tyson and Deontay have livened up this decision. The best fought the best but it was not the best decision.”

Tempers flare as shirtless Tyson Fury & Deontay Wilder clash at fiery LA press conference (PHOTOS) https://briefnews.eu/tempers-flare-as-shirtless-tyson-fury-deontay-wilder-clash-at-fiery-la-press-conference-photos/ https://briefnews.eu/tempers-flare-as-shirtless-tyson-fury-deontay-wilder-clash-at-fiery-la-press-conference-photos/#respond Wed, 28 Nov 2018 23:08:08 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/tempers-flare-as-shirtless-tyson-fury-deontay-wilder-clash-at-fiery-la-press-conference-photos/

What started out as a run-of-the-mill occasion descended into an ugly shouting match as scuffles broke out on stage at the pre-fight press conference between Deontay Wilder and Tyson Fury in Los Angeles.

Tempers erupted when the pair confronted each other during an intense face-off, with Wilder shouting in the Brit’s face, telling him he was going to knock him out while Fury mockingly bobbed and weaved his head in response.

And when members of Wilder and Fury’s respective teams moved in to prevent tempers from boiling over, scuffles broke out among the teams and Fury took off his jacket and shirt as the two protagonists were separated to avoid an ugly clash.

Wednesday’s press conference took place on the three-year anniversary of Fury’s world title-winning performance over Wladimir Klitschko, and the timing wasn’t lost on the Brit.

“It’s my anniversary today,” he told the assembled press. “It’s three years since I went to Germany and kicked Wladimir Klitschko’s arse all over Dusseldorf, and I’ll do the same to Deontay on Saturday.

“I’m here to do a job and enjoy myself, and I hope the boxing fans around the world are going to enjoy this fight as much as I will.”

Wilder started out calm and composed in his opening statement as he revealed his excitement ahead of the contest.

“I can’t wait,” he enthused. “It’s been my saying this whole time: I cannot wait. Time is clicking, it’s boiling down. Can you feel the energy?

“This is a moment I’ve been waiting for my entire career. This is the time, it’s my time. Fury had his time. When he beat Klitschko that was his time, that was his window. Now it’s my time.”

But things started to heat up when the press conference went to the Q&A segment, which quickly descended into a back-and-forth shouting match between the pair.

Before the chaos ensued, Fury said that he was returning to the sport not just as the heavyweight division’s lineal champion, but as a champion for people around the world who deal with mental illness.

The Brit suffered with mental health issues during his time away from the sport. But he explained that now he is back on the world stage, he wants to be an inspiration to those who deal with similar issues every day.

“I stand for more than a championship. I stand here as an ambassador for mental health,” he said.

“I’m the people’s champion. I’ve got millions of people around the world who look up to me and I’m on a mission to inspire these people.”

Then Fury turned up the mental warfare and clearly touched a nerve when he questioned Wilder’s tough-guy image.

“When I look at him I don’t see a bad man, I see a pretender,” said Fury.

“This ain’t an act. I am what I am. A bald-headed, big-bearded hulk of a man. And I didn’t practice to talk like this. I just do it.”

It left Wilder all fired up, as the American turned his sights on Fury as he looked to questioned the Brit’s boxing credentials.

“I was at the Olympics. I medalled. I’ve never seen him in the Olympics, I’ve never seen him medal,” he stated.

“I’ve knocked out every fighter I’ve faced. Why hasn’t he? Why is his ratio so low?

“He didn’t beat Klitschko, Klitschko beat himself. If Klitschko had shown up and thrown more punches he’d have won. Everybody knows that.”

And with the fight just a matter of days away, the defending WBC champion issued a warning to the returning Fury, saying that he’s been ready for their matchup for weeks, and that the smiling adversary he had spent time with during the lead-up to the event was now replaced by a world champion determined to defend his crown.

“So much emotion is running through my body right now. I was ready two weeks ago,” he declared.

“I can’t wait to put these hands on you. When I get in the ring, it’ll be no more Mr. Nice Guy.”

Anthony Joshua calls out Deontay Wilder after stunning victory over Alexander Povetkin https://briefnews.eu/anthony-joshua-calls-out-deontay-wilder-after-stunning-victory-over-alexander-povetkin/ https://briefnews.eu/anthony-joshua-calls-out-deontay-wilder-after-stunning-victory-over-alexander-povetkin/#respond Sun, 23 Sep 2018 02:40:16 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/anthony-joshua-calls-out-deontay-wilder-after-stunning-victory-over-alexander-povetkin/

Wilder is set to face Tyson Fury on December 1, but AJ made it clear he still wants to face the American on April 13.

Speaking after the fight, AJ praised Povetkin but also suggested he’s ready to finally lock horns with Wilder.

“Povetkin is a very tough challenger and he proved it tonight,” Anthony Joshua said.

“I realised he was strong to the head but weak to the body.

“Let’s see whats happening on April 13.

“Let’s ask the question, I have no mandatories.

“The sport is about what the fans want, let’s put a poll out on Twitter and see who fans want me to take on.

“I got my knockout streak back, I found my right hand again.

“There’s a lot of pressure, the country is rooting for us all and boxing.

“The energy in here spurs you on and I do feel that pressure.”

Pushed on who he wants to fight next, Joshua admitted: “There’s no contract signed at the minute. My No 1 would be Wilder, that’s it.”

Joshua’s promoter – Eddie Hearn – was also quick to talk up a potential 2019 fight with Wilder.

“Joshua is a player in this game, the one stepping up and taking on great fighters,” Hearn said.

“He is a special talent and a great model.

“There was a lot of pressure, Povetkin is a great fighter.

“Joshua’s a real world champion, we will go away now and try and make a fight with [Deontay] Wilder.

“Tonight was about getting that big banana skin of Alexander Povetkin out the way.

“If it’s not Deontay Wilder then it will be Whyte here on April 13.”

Povetkin, 39, had started the opening exchanges of tonight’s fight well.

He left Joshua wobbling in the opening round as it drew to a close and looked dangerous in the early exchanges.

The Watford-born fighter kept his cool as the rounds progressed though.

In the seventh he sprung into life and floored Alexander Povetkin with a ferocious combo.

Povetkin bravely got to his feet, but he was swiftly finished off by Joshua.

Dillian Whyte, who could still face Joshua again if the Wilder fight isn’t rubber stamped, was impressed with how AJ is handling the pressure.

“Povetkin was going to be sharp early, but AJ between 5 and 7 rounds,” the British heavyweight explained.

“Joshua’s youth and his activity, the fighters he has fought, I thought he would come through.

“Joshua is under a lot of pressure, there is massive pressure on me every fight and he is at a higher level than me.

“He was patient and took his time, he was jabbing to the body and then brought the right into play which caught Povetkin by surprise.

“Hopefully, it’s me next, I’m here and ready to fight.”

Tyson Fury Deontay Wilder pictures leaked as fighters argue again https://briefnews.eu/tyson-fury-deontay-wilder-pictures-leaked-as-fighters-argue-again/ https://briefnews.eu/tyson-fury-deontay-wilder-pictures-leaked-as-fighters-argue-again/#respond Mon, 20 Aug 2018 16:56:35 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/tyson-fury-deontay-wilder-pictures-leaked-as-fighters-argue-again/

Fury picked up the 27th win of his professional career on Saturday when he beat Francesco Planeta over 10 rounds at Windsor Park.

But his next bout will be over a scheduled 12 rounds when he takes on Wilder for the WBC title, a fight that was announced in the ring in Belfast after Fury’s victory.

And while promoter Frank Warren says he has not got a date in the diary yet, the two men appear to have filmed a sit-down conversation in London earlier today.

Pictures posted on Twitter by Warren show the two men sitting at a table covered by a black cloth with Wilder’s WBC belt sitting between them and commentator John Rawling moderating the debate.

The two are not known to have anything more than a sporting rivalry although they did find themselves in the middle of a scrum of people last week with Wilder and Fury both shouting across a crowd in the lobby of the Europa Hotel.

However, one of the pictures of filming, thought to have taken place in Stratford, shows Wilder snarling angrily at his opponent while Rawling raises his hands in an attempt to keep the peace.

And in another snap both appear to be talking over each other while standing up, the table still between them, and Rawling glances nervously at Wilder.

The exchanges, which happened during a common style of joint interview ahead of major boxing bouts, was branded “the best in the history of the format” by Warren, one of the few people to have witnessed the occasion first-hand.

“No exaggeration, this makes every one filmed previous to this look like a children’s tea party,” Warren wrote on Twitter.

Terms have already been agreed by both camps but Warren has not yet announced the date or venue for Wilder vs Fury.

But Express Sport understands Las Vegas on November 17 is the most likely outcome, which could theoretically allow the winner to face Anthony Joshua for undisputed heavyweight champion status on April 13 next year at Wembley.

Wilder had been in talks with Joshua himself over a showdown to unify the four major heavyweight bells but those negotiations fell through with both venue and purse split said to be the biggest sticking points.

And Fury, a former heavyweight champion himself, pounced on the opportunity to get back into a world title fight less than six months after his return to the ring.

“Fury contacted me and we had a great conversation. This was Instagram, on 22 June,” Wilder said.

“He said: ‘I promised you I’d fight you – let’s make this happen, it’ll be the biggest fight in the world.’

“I’ve always wanted the Tyson Fury fight.

“To finally get him, it’s a blessing. In our eyes he’s still the lineal champion, he’s undefeated.

“He’s still getting massive respect, he’s the man who beat the man.

“I can’t wait to meet the man that beat the man, so when I beat the man I become the man. You understand?”

Tyson Fury confirms Deontay Wilder bout after second comeback win https://briefnews.eu/tyson-fury-confirms-deontay-wilder-bout-after-second-comeback-win/ https://briefnews.eu/tyson-fury-confirms-deontay-wilder-bout-after-second-comeback-win/#respond Sun, 19 Aug 2018 13:05:40 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/tyson-fury-confirms-deontay-wilder-bout-after-second-comeback-win/ The lineal heavyweight champion of the world, Tyson Fury, set up a November date with undefeated WBC champion Deontay Wilder after Fury turned in a measured performance to outpoint Francesco Pianeta in Belfast, Northern Ireland.

Fury and Wilder announced in the ring in Windsor Park on Saturday night that the much-anticipated clash between the lineal world champion, Fury, and his undefeated WBC champion rival would take place later this year – likely November – but, as promoter Frank Warren was keen to impart, a specific date and venue hasn’t been selected as of yet.

Fury won every round on the judges’ scorecards in Belfast, though some sections of the crowd appeared frustrated at his measured performance, clearly feeling that he could have finished the fight if he had upped his intensity.

For Fury though, the prize was too lucrative to take any chances. The bout will be the biggest heavyweight attraction since Anthony Joshua defeated Wladimir Klitschko in May of last year and the winner will be in prime position for the heavyweight world title unification bout with Joshua in 2019, in what would be the most lucrative fight in boxing.

At the conclusion of Saturday’s fight, Wilder climbed into the ring to tell the audience that the fight was “officially on.” Fury retorted with “I’m knocking you the f*** out, boy.”

“It is one thing that Tyson Fury has never had,” Wilder later elaborated about the world title he holds. “He had many belts, but he’s never had the WBC belt. And if he ever thinks about having this belt, he better wake up and apologise to me because he’ll never have this.

“I can’t wait to fight you because I am going to knock you out, I promise you. You’ve never been knocked out but you’re going to feel the experience, what it feels to get hit by the Bronze Bomber.”

As for Tyson Fury, his comeback was a simple one: “Listen, you can’t knock out what you can’t hit. This man [Pianeta] couldn’t land a blow on me tonight.”

Tyson Fury vs Deontay Wilder WILL be confirmed in ring on Saturday – EXCLUSIVE https://briefnews.eu/tyson-fury-vs-deontay-wilder-will-be-confirmed-in-ring-on-saturday-exclusive/ https://briefnews.eu/tyson-fury-vs-deontay-wilder-will-be-confirmed-in-ring-on-saturday-exclusive/#respond Fri, 17 Aug 2018 08:20:47 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/tyson-fury-vs-deontay-wilder-will-be-confirmed-in-ring-on-saturday-exclusive/

Fury will face former world title challenger Francesco Pianeta in Belfast on Saturday, only his second fight since a two-and-a-half-year hiatus from the sport.

The self-styled “Gypsy King” is expected to record a comfortable victory over the German who has lost two of his last three fights but will then make a significant step up in class.

Express Sport understands that Wilder will be in attendance at Windsor Park and that, assuming Fury wins, he will get in the ring after the fight to go toe-to-toe with the heavyweight.

Negotiations between the two camps were initiated after Wilder failed to agree a deal with three-belt heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua, a fight promoter Frank Warren claims was made impossible by the British side.

However, talks for Fury vs Wilder appear to have progressed quickly and easily and now Express Sport has been told that everything is in place to confirm the fight officially tomorrow.

That includes broadcaster BT Sport making their first foray into the pay-per-view market with the launch of “BT Sport Box Office”, which up until now has been nothing more than a minimalist announcement earlier this year.

The move signals yet another area in which they are looking to compete with Sky Sports, who have the likes of Joshua sewn up thanks to their deal with Matchroom Boxing and Eddie Hearn.

And Warren revealed yesterday that even if Wilder had fought Joshua and not Fury, that too would have been on BT.

“When they were putting the bid together, the offer for Joshua I helped with it,” Warren said.

“BT were very interested in broadcasting it.

“It wasn’t about being on Sky it was about who came up with the most money.”

And money, Warren claims, has not been an issue between Wilder, who offered Joshua $ 80million (£63million) guaranteed over two fights, and Fury.

“Fights happen for two reasons and they don’t happen for two reasons. One: the money’s got to be right. Two: you either fancy the fight or you don’t,” he added.

”Wilder, Tyson, the money’s OK and they both want the fight.

“Joshua, somebody didn’t want the fight – Wilder wanted it, made a huge offer.”

But now WBC champion Wilder, who is currently unbeaten in his 40 professional bouts and has held seven successful defences, is fully focused on Fury.

“Me and Tyson Fury will definitely be fighting. It will seal the deal if he can get a win come Saturday night, then it will definitely be even more realistic,” Wilder said yesterday.

“I have no doubt in my mind that he’s going to do what he’s got to do and get the job done and get this fight out of the way so we can get into camp and get ready to train for the battle of the real kings of the heavyweight division.

“Fury has always been welcome in my home and I think now, finally, these guys have grown some balls and now he’s ready to fight me.

“It’s going to be a good fight while it lasts. He’s definitely going to be in shape.

“People don’t think he’ll be in shape and he needs more tune-ups and stuff but he’s a champion. He’s a professional fighter. He knows what he needs to do to get in shape.

“Everybody, no matter what calibre of fighter in this sport, when guys know they have to face me, they get in the best shape of their lives.

“And they should because I’m a very dangerous guy.”

Deontay Wilder vs. Anthony Joshua just took 3 massive steps forward — and they could fight as soon as this fall https://briefnews.eu/deontay-wilder-vs-anthony-joshua-just-took-3-massive-steps-forward-and-they-could-fight-as-soon-as-this-fall/ https://briefnews.eu/deontay-wilder-vs-anthony-joshua-just-took-3-massive-steps-forward-and-they-could-fight-as-soon-as-this-fall/#respond Wed, 13 Jun 2018 16:24:55 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/deontay-wilder-vs-anthony-joshua-just-took-3-massive-steps-forward-and-they-could-fight-as-soon-as-this-fall/ Anthony Joshua vs. Deontay WilderGetty Images

  • Anthony Joshua and Deontay Wilder have all but signed a deal to fight each other this fall.
  • Wilder, a big-punching American, has conceded home advantage and is willing to fight Joshua in front of 90,000 fans at Wembley Stadium in Joshua’s home town, London.
  • Joshua’s promoter Eddie Hearn is now sending all “the relevant paperwork” to Wilder’s management.

A fight between Anthony Joshua and Deontay Wilder is close to becoming a reality.

The trans-Atlantic rivals hold all of boxing’s major heavyweight titles between them. They are both unbeaten, possess frightening punching power, and look set to collide in one of the biggest fights of the year.

Joshua won his first world championship, the IBF belt, when he flattened Charles Martin in a dominant knockout victory at London’s 02 Arena in 2016. Since then, he has annexed the IBO, WBA (Super), and WBO titles by defeating Wladimir Klitschko (2017) and Joseph Parker (2018).

The only belt Joshua is yet to win is Wilder’s WBC championship, but there are now three reasons why Joshua may well have the chance to wrest that belt away from the American in a super showdown in October or November.

Wilder has been calling out Joshua, who added the WBO strap to his IBF, WBA and IBO titles last month with an unanimous points win over Joshua Parker in Cardiff, and he is desperate to become the undisputed heavyweight champion.

A huge clash is expected to take place later this year, although both parties are thought to be poles apart in terms of the purse for the fight.

Reports have suggested that Joshua’s team have tabled three offers and any potential deal would include a rematch clause which would allow Wilder a second bout in the US.

And now according to the Daily Telegraph, Joshua and his promoter Eddie Hearn have dispatched a contract to Wilder, however it doesn’t confirm where the fight will take place or even whether or not it will even be Joshua’s next fight.

However, the report suggests that Wilder has been offered a flat fee of £8.8million to accept the fight and has been told he has 48 hours to inform Joshua’s camp.

This was confirmed by Wilder’s management team through co-manager Shelly Finkel.

He told the Telegraph: “It was a take-it-or-leave-it offer.

“We will respond appropriately in the next day or so with our counter offer.

“If Joshua is serious, we will take the fight.

“Deontay wants this fight. He doesn’t want anyone else.”

Anthony Joshua next fight: American challenges champ… and it’s not Deontay Wilder https://briefnews.eu/anthony-joshua-next-fight-american-challenges-champ-and-its-not-deontay-wilder/ https://briefnews.eu/anthony-joshua-next-fight-american-challenges-champ-and-its-not-deontay-wilder/#respond Wed, 04 Apr 2018 13:22:08 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/anthony-joshua-next-fight-american-challenges-champ-and-its-not-deontay-wilder/

Joshua added the WBO title to his WBA and IBF straps on Saturday with a points win over New Zealand’s Joseph Parker.

The Brit subsequently called out WBC champion , a challenge he accepted the next day.

However, Joshua’s promoter Eddie Hearn believes Wilder plans to fight Dominic Breazeale first before setting up a unification clash at the end of the year.

And Express Sport understands the Matchroom Boxing promoter would rather take Joshua to the US ahead of a bout against Wilder in order to help sell the huge clash in the States.

Both Miller and Bryant Jennings have been mentioned by Hearn previously, but now the former has come out directly issued a challenge, believing the 21-0 Joshua is underestimating the scene in America.

“I will welcome him to New York. We can make the fight happen,” told Sky Sports.

“He is definitely taking [American fighters] lightly because he had a good experience with Charles Martin.

“It’s hilarious. Who have I fought to earn a title shot? Who did AJ fight to earn a title shot? Hilarious.”

“Big Baby” Miller, just like Joshua, has an unbeaten 21-fight record, albeit with one draw early in his career after being docked two points for pushing in a four-round contest.

The 29-year-old also has 18 knockouts on his record and will take on Johann Duhaupas in Brooklyn on April 28 on a card headlined by Daniel Jacobs and promoted by Hearn.

Miller is expected to reiterate his challenge to Joshua if he comes through that test and has already attempted to goad the 28-year-old over his first ever decision win on Saturday.

“He’s not as powerful as he thinks,” Miller added.

“I did not enjoy [Joshua vs Parker]. I fell asleep and my boys woke me up. Then my boys fell asleep and I woke them up.

“I thought Parker won but UK fans will think differently. Parker threw more punches, was more active, had a better jab. Joshua was getting hit by terrible stuff.

“Parker wasn’t the most powerful but he was tagging [Joshua], and hurt him.”
