Mandalorian season 2: Baby Yoda in danger as first-look reveals battle against the Empire https://briefnews.eu/mandalorian-season-2-baby-yoda-in-danger-as-first-look-reveals-battle-against-the-empire/ https://briefnews.eu/mandalorian-season-2-baby-yoda-in-danger-as-first-look-reveals-battle-against-the-empire/#respond Thu, 10 Sep 2020 01:29:35 +0000 https://briefnews.eu/mandalorian-season-2-baby-yoda-in-danger-as-first-look-reveals-battle-against-the-empire/

Star Wars fans were thrilled by the franchise’s first live-action series for Disney Plus. Originally released in October 2019 in the States, The Mandalorian went on to become an international hit when it was made available overseas at the start of 2020. Now a sneak peek at season two could spell trouble for Baby Yoda.

Although the Skywalker Saga came to a rocky conclusion with last year’s Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, fans are still hyped for the return of the franchise’s first Disney+ series, The Mandalorian.

Pedro Pascal stars as the titular bounty hunter, known as Din Djarin or ‘Mando’ who bites off more than he can chew when he is hired to retrieve a priceless asset, known as the Child.

More commonly known as Baby Yoda thanks to its resemblance to Frank Oz’s creation in The Empire Strikes Back, the Child instantly became one of the most popular new additions to the Star Wars mythos.

When Mando discovers his ‘Client’ (played by Werner Herzog) intended to harvest the Child for his potent Force abilities, he goes against his word and escapes to protect the adorable green alien.

When season two is released on October 30, Mando and the Child will remain on the run, pursued by the fearless Moff Gideon (Giancarlo Esposito), revealed at the end of the first season.

As The Mandalorian takes place some years after Return of the Jedi, Gideon commands a crippled faction of the Empire after the second Death Star was destroyed by the Rebel Alliance.

Revealed exclusively to Entertainment Weekly, some brand new images from season two have teased what’s to come when the space Western returns.

The pictures confirmed the return of the show’s main cast, including Pedro Pascal once again donning the sleek grey armour of the Mandalorian creed.

Look closely, and fans should be able to spot another sighting of Baby Yoda, tucked away in a pouch at the back of the speeder.

The Child could be accompanying Djarin on the hoverbike for any number of reasons, but there is already concern the green critter could be thrown headfirst into the action in season two.

Season one of The Mandalorian already proved Baby Yoda is more than capable of handling himself, demonstrated when he uses the Force to fend off a rampaging mudhorn.

However, with Moff Gideon accompanied by fleets of stormtroopers and armed with the legendary Dark Saber, there’s no telling what hazards could befall the duo when their adventures continue.

The Blacklist Bosses Shed Light on That Unexpected Fall Finale Alliance, Hint at ‘Looming Danger’ Ahead for Katarina https://briefnews.eu/the-blacklist-bosses-shed-light-on-that-unexpected-fall-finale-alliance-hint-at-looming-danger-ahead-for-katarina/ https://briefnews.eu/the-blacklist-bosses-shed-light-on-that-unexpected-fall-finale-alliance-hint-at-looming-danger-ahead-for-katarina/#respond Sat, 14 Dec 2019 02:35:40 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/the-blacklist-bosses-shed-light-on-that-unexpected-fall-finale-alliance-hint-at-looming-danger-ahead-for-katarina/

RELATED STORIES

Elizabeth Keen might want to clear some closet space, because The Blacklist‘s fall finale gave her a lot to unpack.

Among the revelations Liz learned during this hour: (1) Reddington is not Ilya Koslov, as her grandfather had led her to believe; (2) Dom planned to have Katarina killed years ago, in an effort to protect Liz (uh, awkward); and (3) Katarina is looking for answers that Red, Ilya and others have been keeping from her — and her life is only in danger once again because Liz went looking for her last season. (I repeat: Awkward.)

During the episode, both Red and the FBI finally closed in on Katarina — each with their own motivations for doing so — but upon hearing that Katarina is seeking an important truth, Liz decided to align with her mother. She helped Katarina get out of their apartment building undetected, promising to keep her out of the FBI’s grasp as long as possible.

Unfortunately for Katarina, Red did detect her leaving Liz’s building, prompting him and Dembe to tail the getaway car she’d hot-wired. But after a several-mile pursuit, Katarina was T-boned by an SUV, and Red watched in shock as two men got out of the car and gunned down Katarina in the road. In Red’s estimation, the Townsend Directive — aka that standing bounty on Katarina’s head — had just been fulfilled by those two anonymous men, and he later informed Liz that Katarina had died (leaving out the small detail of Katarina’s real name, of course; he still referred to her as Maddie Tolliver).

Liz was expectedly devastated at the news of her mother’s demise, though she gave a good poker face until Red was no longer around. That‘s when she broke down in tears… until she got a phone call from none other than Katarina, who explained that (1) she had faked her death, and (2) she needed to disappear for a while, though she still had every intention of working with Liz to find the answers they’ve been seeking. Liz confirmed that Red had been fully convinced by Katarina’s “death,” and she assured her mother that she’d keep her very-much-alive status a secret. “I love you, Masha,” Katarina tearfully concluded. “Be safe,” Liz replied.

After screening the fall finale (which marks the last Blacklist episode until March 2020), TVLine spoke with executive producers Jon Bokenkamp and John Eisendrath, who teased what’s to come now that Liz and her mother are on the same side.

TVLINE | Let’s start with Katarina faking her own death. When you were breaking this season, was there ever a time when you had planned to actually kill her off? Or were you always thinking of bringing her into the back half of Season 7?
EISENDRATH | You know, it’s always an evolving story. Initially, at the end of last season’s finale, the first draft had Red killing Katarina. And we never would have had any of this. But we realized that was maybe not the greatest idea we’ve ever had, and at some point we thought, “Oh, maybe for the midseason cliffhanger, she should die.” And then we were like, “Uh, maybe not.” And part of the reason is that most successful shows have a life of their own, and the writers try to follow the story as much as write the story. And particularly when you have someone like Laila Robins [who plays Katarina] — she was just so good that it made us feel like, “Oh, we want to write for her.” So it was a combination of reasons. It was partly that we just weren’t smart enough to see from the beginning that it would be worth keeping that character around, and secondly, she was so good, and thirdly, we realized that the story is incredibly dramatic, and we should live with that. So the short answer is yes, we did think of killing her off repeatedly. [Laughs]

The Blacklist Season 7TVLINE | But to be clear: Katarina being alive means that the Townsend Directive is still in play, correct? That’s still something she should fear?
BOKENKAMP | That is correct. We saw tonight that these crazy brothers who showed up trying to kill her and collect the bounty — they were ultimately working with Katarina. But there are a number of people around the world who have a beef with Katarina Rostova and are looking for her. The Townsend Directive is very much a real threat for her, and it remains a looming danger.

TVLINE | Katarina and Liz working together is a fun dynamic that we haven’t seen on the show before. How would you describe their alliance? Does Liz fully trust her mother?
EISENDRATH | She’s not 100 percent confident that she can trust Katarina. At this point, she thinks Katarina may offer her a greater chance of finding out the truth that it seems Red won’t share with her. But she certainly is not fully trusting of Katarina at this point, so as the season goes on, there will be choices that she’ll have to make — whether to stay aligned with her mother, whether to be more sympathetic toward Red’s point of view. And when [Liz and Katarina] are together, hopefully we will be able to deepen the relationship and let them live in the truth of who they are. We’ll be able to build up to a great season finale with Liz deeply connected to Katarina as Katarina and Red have a big confrontation at the end of the year.
BOKENKAMP | And all of that is happening behind the back of Reddington. He believes Katarina is dead. The Townsend Directive has been fulfilled, Katarina Rostova is dead, and on with life. That does make it rather interesting, with the growing relationship between mother and daughter happening without Reddington’s knowledge. At least for now.

TVLINE | And now that Red does believe Katarina is dead, what does that mean for him? Will he want to return to business as usual, giving the FBI those cases of the week?
EISENDRATH | That’s a very good question.
BOKENKAMP | Now that Red is able to put this to bed, it won’t mean that the show will suddenly become frothy and light. But Reddington is in a different headspace, and when we come back in March, he is unencumbered, and we have a lot of fun. We have some really fun stuff coming up. That doesn’t mean there isn’t darkness underneath it, because there’s this rolling boil of Katarina and Liz and their hunt for the truth. But our entry point in March, and for a while, will be a little bit lighter, a little more fun. And we get to take a breath with Red, who feels like this is all over. Sadly, that’s not the case.

Strictly 2019: Catherine Tyldesley in danger as fans claim music ‘ruined’ her performance https://briefnews.eu/strictly-2019-catherine-tyldesley-in-danger-as-fans-claim-music-ruined-her-performance/ https://briefnews.eu/strictly-2019-catherine-tyldesley-in-danger-as-fans-claim-music-ruined-her-performance/#respond Sun, 27 Oct 2019 13:30:32 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/strictly-2019-catherine-tyldesley-in-danger-as-fans-claim-music-ruined-her-performance/

Strictly Come Dancing turned spooky and dark last night as the remaining eleven contestants took to the dance floor to take part in Halloween Week. Catherine Tyldesley and her professional dance partner Johannes Radebe performed the Cha Cha Cha to Scared Of The Dark by Steps. However, those watching at home were unhappy with the score and feedback she received from the judges, with many suggesting the music choice didn’t suit the style of dance and therefore potentially hindered her chances of a stellar performance.

Catherine has been a dark horse in the competition so far, her Rumba was classed as “one of the best week 3 Rumba’s” head judge Shirley Ballas had ever seen.

But last night, it seems the song choice let her and Johannes down.

Taking to Twitter to comment, one said: “One of my fave couples but I wasn’t a huge fan of that. Didn’t like the music and some timing issues #Catherine #Strictly.”

“#Strictly This has to be one of the worst weeks for the music. What on earth is going on? That is completely unrecognisable as @OfficialSteps,” someone chimed.

“Non cha cha beat with terrible song choice ruined it for her. Shame as I really like her,” a viewer added.

A third added: “Song choices this week are awful #StrictlyComeDancing #Strictly.”

“@BBCStrictly @Cath_Tyldesley and @jojo_radebe love watching these two, but think the music choice let them down tonight #Strictly x,” a viewer wrote online.

Someone else tweeted: “@BBCStrictly @Cath_Tyldesley and @jojo_radebe The music has to be the worse choice ever for a Halloween show! Some of the songs…(beats…pick ups…drops etc) are ridiculous. Too hard for many, esp non-pros, to ‘get with’ inside a week! Just proved by Catherine losing her timing…way too hard to get back. But great effort.”

Express.co.uk has contacted the BBC for a comment about who decides the song and music choices danced each week.

“[You] definitely have timing issues, there [were] some mistakes. Even Johannes, the look on your face, there were too many mistakes in there. But you’re talented, you’re lovely and you come out there giving it 100 percent, so well done for trying.”

Bruno Tonioli who was absent from last week’s live show was third to feedback: “Don’t get discouraged.

“When you started, I thought ‘oh we are in for a treat, that’s a good Cha Cha and she was selling it.’

“You were popping, you were giving performance. Something happened with the timing, something went wrong and then you kind of somehow, I could see it in your face, your confidence disappeared, but it doesn’t matter, you’re an actress, cover it up – play it big!” the Italian judge remarked.

Emmerdale spoilers: Are the Dingle’s in danger as Vinny’s real identity is exposed? https://briefnews.eu/emmerdale-spoilers-are-the-dingles-in-danger-as-vinnys-real-identity-is-exposed/ https://briefnews.eu/emmerdale-spoilers-are-the-dingles-in-danger-as-vinnys-real-identity-is-exposed/#respond Fri, 25 Oct 2019 06:22:06 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/emmerdale-spoilers-are-the-dingles-in-danger-as-vinnys-real-identity-is-exposed/

Emmerdale fans are eagerly anticipating Vinny Dingle (Bradley Johnson) to reveal his true identity as spoilers have disclosed he isn’t actually Mandy Dingle’s (Lisa Riley) son. But while fans are desperate to know who he really is, it looks like they will have to sit tight.

More twists are set to come as, in typical soap tradition, an identity-uncovering will not fall short of drama.

But will his secret turn out to be darker than expected?

The revelation has left viewers wondering if Vinny’s real mother is one of the ITV soap’s most beloved characters.

Will it be revealed that he’s linked to a well-established resident?

Fans are convinced that Sam Dingle’s (James Hooton) wife Lydia Hart (Karen Blick) could be Vinny’s mum, as she confessed in emotional scenes to a teen pregnancy after the body of her baby was found in the woods.

In a shocking twist, could the baby have been Vinny?

Bradley spilt the beans that his character could become the ITV soap’s next big villain.

Speaking to Inside Soap, he hinted: “Initially we saw him as a bumbling character but there’s a lot more to him than meets the eye and we’ll see his true colours coming out.

“He has different sides to him. While I can’t go into detail, he’s a bit on the dark side and a bit on the funny side.

“He has a lot of personalities, but he chooses which one he plays.”

With this in mind, could the Dingle’s be in danger as Vinny’s secret is exposed?

Elsewhere in the Dales poor Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller) was left heartbroken as scenes that aired last night showed Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley) get handed a life sentence for the murder of Lee Posner (Kris Mochrie).

Aaron and Victoria Barton (Isobel Hodgins) watched as Robert pleaded guilty and was served the devastating news.

Summing up the case after Robert’s plea, the judge said: “This was a senseless act of pure violence. Your actions clearly were not in self-defence.

“There is only one sentence I can give you, Mr Sugden, and that is life imprisonment. I fix the term at 14 years. You will not be considered for parole until you have served the full amount of that term.”

Aaron had to be restrained by Paddy Kirk (Dominic Brunt) from breaking Robert out of jail, so how will he cope with this crushing blow?

Before Robert was led away to begin his sentence, he and Aaron expressed their love for each.

Lee’s mum Wendy (Susan Cookson) was in court to watch as Robert heard his fate.

She was joined by Luke, Lee’s brother – the man Victoria had recently befriended.

Fans expressed their suspicions that Luke was somehow connected to Lee, but he seemed totally surprised at the coincidence.

Will Luke set out to avenge his brother’s death?

And, will Aaron hit rock bottom again and lash out at his loved ones in bid to come to terms with his future without Robert?

Emmerdale continues tonight at 7pm on ITV.

RELATED STORIES

As Season 10 of The Walking Dead hurls our heroes into battle with the walker-skin-wearing Whisperers, the denizens of Alexandria and the Hilltop will have to contend with a danger that’s arguably even greater than their nemeses: paranoia.

“Both sides are wondering, ‘Are people sneaking into our territory? Is there a way that we can turn people on the other side?’” showrunner Angela Kang tells TVLine. “There’s a much more tense, kind of crackling feel to the way they’re interacting with each other as tensions continue to mount. And there are lots of plot twists and turns within that tension as it amps up over time.”

Clearly, this conflict isn’t going to play out like the Saviors War, Part 2. “We’re in a different time in the apocalypse,” Kang points out. “From the trailer, you can see that [our protagonists are] training with different kinds of weapons. They’ve kind of moved into a more forged/medieval style that the blacksmiths are making.

“In this world, our people have the ability to manufacture bullets,” she adds, “but is that really the best use of resources or time, given that, when you’re dealing with a lot of zombies for the most part, you want something that’s reusable, that you can have in hand that’s hefty — quiet, too. Bullets are going to just draw more zombies. Our people have learned to fight in a different, more collaborative way.”

the-walking-dead-whisperers war season 10 preview angela kangIt’s not just the weapons in the Whisperers war that will differ from the ones in the Saviors war, either. “A lot of the Saviors war was sort of a strategic back-and-forth that wound up in battles,” says Kang. “Here, you’re dealing with a nomadic group that doesn’t have a headquarters, so that’s a different type of conflict. There are stories that have to do with the tensions that exist when you are sharing a border that one side does not agree with and that is causing them problems in their day-to-day.”

Season 10 of The Walking Dead premieres on AMC Sunday, Oct. 6 (9/8c).

Coronation Street is going to turn dark this week as Seb Franklin (played by Harry Visinoni) is going to expose a dark crime.

It comes after the soap announced their decision to explore modern slavery and human trafficking, which Seb would be involved in.

And according to official soap spoilers, he is going to uncover newcomer Jan’s link to the exploitation.

In recent scenes, fans have seen the arrival of Alina, who is going to become a new love interest for Seb.

And her connection to Jan was teased back in April, when she stopped in her tracks and recognised him whilst out on the Street.

In upcoming weeks, Seb is going to discover how Alina came to the UK as part of an Eastern European human trafficking ring.

Whilst the details of Jan’s storyline have yet to be confirmed, fans are speculating and suggesting he is part of the gang which is leading the trafficking.

Nevertheless, the soap has dropped a teaser about how Seb confronting Jan about Alina’s situation.

Taking to their official Instagram account, a backstage photo of the soap filming the scenes shows Seb at Eileen Grimshaw’s (Sue Cleaver) house with Jan.

The pair look to be in a tense conversation, with Seb looking away into the distance and leaning on the sofa.

Whilst the caption which accompany’s the image doesn’t hint at what words are being exchanged, judging by Jan’s stance he is either reassuring Seb or discouraging him.

Is this the moment Seb exposes Alina for being a victim of trafficking?

Elsewhere in the Street, there is a possibility David Platt (Jack P. Shepherd) could be in danger.

Later this week, Corrie fans are going to find out the identity of super villain who has been causing turmoil for many of the residents.

In a twist no one expected, David is going to expose his brother Nick Tilsley (Ben Price) as a thief and murderer to the rest of his family.

But could this put him in danger?

Actor Jack spoke about his current storyline and explained how there is going to be consequences for David in upcoming weeks.

He said: “[He doesn’t] throw Nick under the bus, but Nick started all this, so David thinks if he’s going down, he’s going to take Nick down with him.

“David doesn’t think he’s going to get away scot-free. There’s going to be consequences for the pair of them but he’s prepared to face that.”

Coronation Street returns tonight at 9pm on ITV.

EastEnders spoilers: Karen Taylor in DANGER amid explosive affair revelation? https://briefnews.eu/eastenders-spoilers-karen-taylor-in-danger-amid-explosive-affair-revelation/ https://briefnews.eu/eastenders-spoilers-karen-taylor-in-danger-amid-explosive-affair-revelation/#respond Sat, 25 May 2019 00:35:57 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/eastenders-spoilers-karen-taylor-in-danger-amid-explosive-affair-revelation/

Keanu Taylor (played by Danny Walters) and Sharon Mitchell (Letitia Dean) have managed to keep their affair under wraps so far but the actress who plays Keanu’s mum, Karen Taylor (Lorraine Stanley) has hinted at explosive scenes when the truth finally comes out.

Sharon and Keanu were embroiled in a secret romance last year and a recent turn of events involving Keanu’s girlfriend Louise Mitchell (Tilly Keeper) has caused sparks between the couple once again.

Speaking to Digital Spy, Lorraine hinted at a dramatic climax to the former lovers’ storyline when Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) uncovers the affair.

When asked whether she would like to be involved in the explosive scenes, she confessed: “Oh, yeah, if and when it happens, yeah.”

“It’s obviously got to come out, hasn’t it? But yeah, there would be some brilliant scenes there.

“It’s always a pleasure working with Steve McFadden, so that would be explosive. It [would] be a bombshell explosion.”

Karen has known about the affair for some time after discovering the truth and warning Sharon that her son better not get hurt.

The worried mum feared for the safety of Keanu because of Phil’s violent reputation and told Sharon to make sure things were over between the pair.

If Karen finds out Phil knows the truth she may storm over to confront Phil herself before he has chance to hurt Keanu.

Could Karen end up in the cross fire as Phil attempts to take revenge on the young mechanic?

She pushed the young mechanic away and told him she was having an abortion before changing her mind but Keanu had already found sought confront in the arms of Sharon.

Elsewhere in the soap, Karen Taylor was devastated when Mitch Baker (Roger Griffiths) turned his back on her.

Dinah Wilson (Anjela Lauen Smith) tragically decided to take her own life last week, and had told Karen of her wish before she died.

But Karen wrongly believed she had persuaded Dinah against the idea.

When Mitch found out the truth, he told Karen he was walking away from her, leaving her heartbroken.
