<p>In British tradition, women curtsey to those of a superior senior rank to them.</p>
<p>However, the situation is a little complicated for Meghan and Eugenie.</p>
<p>Eugenie is only ninth in line to the British throne, whereas Meghan&rsquo;s husband is fifth in line.</p>
<p>So who curtseys to whom? It is said Meghan technically has to perform the gesture for Eugenie.</p>

<p>This is because Eugenie is a &ldquo;blood royal&rdquo;, explains former royal butler Grant Harrold.</p>
<p>&ldquo;Technically Princesses Eugenie and Beatrice are blood royals,&rdquo; he observed to Express.co.uk.</p>
<p>The two daughters of Sarah Ferguson, 58, and Prince Andrew, 58, are granddaughters to Queen Elizabeth II.</p>
<p>&ldquo;Therefore, when The Duchess of Sussex is not with her husband she ranks lower than them as a non blood royal.</p>
<p>&ldquo;The Duchess of Sussex would be expected to curtsey to any blood royals who are styled HRH.</p>

<p>Meghan is expected to attend the wedding of Harry&rsquo;s cousin Princess Eugenie to Jack Brooksbank, 31, on October 12 this year.</p>
<p>But <a target="_blank" href="https://www.express.co.uk/life-style/life/971918/princess-eugenie-wedding-meghan-markle-prince-harry-news-pictures" target="_blank">will Meghan and Eugenie have similar weddings</a>? Meghan&rsquo;s wedding to Prince Harry took place earlier this year on May 19.</p>
<p>However, there is a crucial difference in that Princess Eugenie &ndash; unlike Harry and now Meghan &ndash; is not a &ldquo;working royal&rdquo;.</p>

<p>A working royal is classified as a member of the royal family who &ldquo;carries out engagements on behalf of the Queen&rdquo;.</p>
<p>Prince Andrew, 58, has in the past described his daughters Eugenie and Beatrice as &ldquo;modern working young women, who happen to be members of the Royal Family&rdquo;.</p>
<p>While Eugenie is a high profile royal who frequently attends royal celebrations, she is under no obligation to do so.</p>
