2018 contestant Ashley Roberts appeared on It Takes Two tonight to discuss her near-exit with host Zoe Ball.

However, in a skit for It Takes Two, Ashley was seen to pretend to be in tears with Zoe having to console the stricken dancer.

Of course, it was all part of a joke as Ashley acted a scene from Les Misérables.

Stacey Dooley and Kevin Clifton will perform an American Smooth (Foxtrot) to I Dreamed A Dream for Musicals Week.

As part of Tunes on Tuesday, Zoe was helped by the Strictly contestants to explore the themes.

Zoe said: “It’s time for Tunes on Tuesday, Musicals Edition! It’s showtime everyone.

“Back to serve up this week’s Ballroom bangers, it’s DJ Whiplash! We are going all out tonight.

“Let’s see which couple is first up tonight. Okay, here we go.”

The screen then revealed Stacey Dooley and Kevin Clifton.

Ashley walked out in a cloak crying, as Pasha waved the French flag.

Zoe continued: “I Dreamed A Dream from Les Misérables. Les Mis is the longest running musical in West End history, with over 13,550 performances under its belt.”

Pretending to break down, Ashley then hugged Zoe as the host said: “It’s going to be alright love! It’s all going to be fine.”

Zoe chuckled: “If you thought Vicky Gill worked hard – check this out!

“Each performance requires 392 complete costumes and 31 wigs!”

The presenter then cut the music and snapped: “It’s just too miserable!”

As Ashley was taken out of shot, Zoe shouted: “Get that girl some tea!”

It comes as the first Strictly couples to appear on next year’s Strictly Come Dancing UK Arena Tour were announced earlier today.

Stacey and Aljaž Škorjanec, Dr Ranj Singh and Janette Manrara, and Joe Sugg and Dianne Buswell will all take part in the tour.

They will all join tour host Ore Oduba and the live judging panel made up of Craig Revel Horwood, Dame Darcey Bussell, Shirley Ballas and Bruno Tonioli.

It Takes Two airs weekdays on  Two at 5pm.

Let’s block ads! (Why?)

Denzel Washington in TEARS watching Black Panther ‘I just started CRYING’ https://briefnews.eu/denzel-washington-in-tears-watching-black-panther-i-just-started-crying/ https://briefnews.eu/denzel-washington-in-tears-watching-black-panther-i-just-started-crying/#respond Sun, 19 Aug 2018 11:24:16 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/denzel-washington-in-tears-watching-black-panther-i-just-started-crying/

The 63-year-old star is currently promoting his new movie The Equalizer 2 and was asked what the last film to make him cry was, revealing it was one of this year’s epics.

Speaking with JOE.co.uk, Denzel replied: “Black Panther, I shed a tear.

“I was sitting in there – I ran into Chad[wick Boseman] and Ryan [Coogler] before the movie started.

“It was their premiere, or the screening in New York, and just talking to them and they went into the movie – and the 40 years I’ve been in this game came back to me.”

Denzel continued: “I said, ‘Man, look at these young boys, man.’

“And I actually, I just started (crying). I was like, whew.

“You know, Sidney, to now? And I’m in the gap – me and many others –are in the gap, but it was like, man. I felt like the third leg of the relay race.

“Like, here, go. Now, I ran behind them – I’m still running. But I was like, man, they gone. They’re gone.”

Smith continued: “You guys have challenged and potentially even shattered a lot of long-time, long-held, false Hollywood beliefs and paradigms.

“I just wanna say congratulations to you. I’m proud, I’m excited, damn near giddy. Congrats, y’all.”

Black Panther will return in Avengers 4 next year.

‘Creed II’ Screenwriter on Apollo Creed’s Legacy and Crying During the First Movie [Exclusive] https://briefnews.eu/creed-ii-screenwriter-on-apollo-creeds-legacy-and-crying-during-the-first-movie-exclusive/ https://briefnews.eu/creed-ii-screenwriter-on-apollo-creeds-legacy-and-crying-during-the-first-movie-exclusive/#respond Fri, 15 Jun 2018 18:50:18 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/creed-ii-screenwriter-on-apollo-creeds-legacy-and-crying-during-the-first-movie-exclusive/ Creed II Details

Luke Cage showrunner Cheo Hodari Coker spoke with /Film by phone this week about the second season of his show. We’ll bring you the full interview next week, but during the interview, we got to ask him about writing the sequel to Creed, which brings back Ivan Drago (Dolph Lundgren), with a son of his own to fight Adonis Creed (Michael B. Jordan).

“It’s about the legacies of sons haunted by their fathers,” Coker said. “Even though Drago is alive, his son is haunted by him because Drago is a broken man who’s trying to rebuild himself through the son. Apollo Creed isn’t broken but because Apollo died, Adonis Creed is still haunted by his father’s death and how it defined him, what it is it means now to be a champion. He’s aspiring to be a champion but also at the same time trying to figure out who it is he is. Particularly with Bianca, particularly also because he’s got Rocky who at this point becomes the new Mickey.”

It sounds like Rocky Balboa’s (Sylvester Stallone) emotional story is still a major part of Creed II as well.

“He really is the trainer who was a champion and lost it, kind of got something back and of course is still, in his own way trying to deal with the absence of Adrian,” Coker continued. “It’s one of those things that thematically, haunted me.”

Stallone worked with Coker on later drafts as well. While Stallone is the ultimate authority on Rocky, Coker was so impacted by Creed he made sure to represent the film that meant so much to him.

“The first Creed is one of the best movies I’ve ever seen,” Coker said. “I cried like a baby when they got to that scene when he’s like, ‘Why are you doing this, kid?’ and he’s like, ‘I just want to prove that I wasn’t a mistake.’ I’m sitting there, oh my God, I was verklempt, man. A lot of black men that have issues with their fathers, when they saw that scene, it became our Brian’s Song. It became our Remember the Titans. It became one of those movies that it is acceptable for ‘macho’ men to cry during. So the opportunity to work on Creed II was definitely something that I fought for, something that I couldn’t pass up. Later on, when I got to work with Stallone on the draft, that was a dream come true.”

Steven Caple, Jr. directs Creed II. Jordan and Tessa Thompson also return from the original.

“I really think that Steven Caple, Jr. is going to be a great addition to the Rocky director pantheon,” Coker said. “From what I’ve been hearing he’s really kicking ass in terms of filming. When I was working on the screenplay with Sly, he’s still really passionate about Rocky and about the character. Michael B. Jordan and Tessa are just really great people and just fun to be around. They’re very passionate and very smart. I have really high hopes. Come on, to be able to be a part of a second season of Luke Cage and, fingers crossed, hopefully still be a part of Creed II in the final [edit]. I say hopefully. As a screenwriter you have a lot less control over the final product than you do as a showrunner but just to even be involved in any capacity with that was a blast. Just from a creative standpoint, I’m so gassed, happy, caught up, I don’t know what adjectives you want to use. It’s a great time.”

Coker also has a credit on a film adaptation of the toy and cartoon line M.A.S.K. He clarified that he was a part of Akiva Goldsman’s writers room set up to develop Transformers: The Last Knight and other HASBRO franchises, but could not say if there was movement on a M.A.S.K. film.

“I was a part of a Hasbro writers room,” Coker said. “That room itself was a blast. I didn’t know half the time whether to take notes for story or to get autographs.”

Creed II is in theaters November 21. Luke Cage season 2 hits Netflix on June 22.

Flight secrets: Scientist FINALLY reveals the truth about crying on planes https://briefnews.eu/flight-secrets-scientist-finally-reveals-the-truth-about-crying-on-planes-2/ https://briefnews.eu/flight-secrets-scientist-finally-reveals-the-truth-about-crying-on-planes-2/#respond Tue, 10 Apr 2018 21:59:04 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/flight-secrets-scientist-finally-reveals-the-truth-about-crying-on-planes-2/

It is not uncommon to be surrounded by strangers on long haul flights and to notice that one or more are crying over the in-flight entertainment.

In fact, it has been speculated that the mix of altitude and alcohol means you’re more likely to cry at a film in the sky than.

Having watched it on the ground, it may not have evoked such a strong reaction.

According to a study conducted by Virgin Atlantic at the end of last year, 44 per cent of male passengers confessed that they have “buried themselves beneath a blanket” to prevent fellow passengers spotting their tears.

Women in the same situation revealed they were more likely to prevent there was “something in their eye.”

The study went on to reveal that more than half of those that took part said they had experienced teary emotions thousands of feet in the air.

So why does it appear that more people cry when flying?

According to The Sun, Dr Paul Wicks has finally revealed the surprising answer.

Despite years of speculation that the cabin pressure and attitude may have had something to do with it, Dr Wicks explained there was little difference between watching a film on a plane and your sofa.

He said: “If there was a difference it wasn’t due to being up in the air. The rate of crying is very similar to being up in the air or on the ground.

“We were surprised to find no elevated level of crying on a plane.

“Age, annual household income, feeling tired, or drinking alcohol were not significant factors either.”

In fact, Dr Wicks revealed that the answer is more than likely down to human behaviour.

On long-haul flights, in particular, airlines are notorious for showing a whole host of different movie titles.

With such a variety on offer, Dr Wicks highlighted that it would not be surprising for someone to watch a film they would have otherwise have skipped.

He explained: “When you are on a plane you choose different films.

“When people are having an emotional reaction it may be that they have chosen a different type of film that is a guilty pleasure.”

GP Dr Nick Knight explained this further in a conversation with the Telegraph.

He said: “Having a cry is a complex business, triggered by anything from the benign and insidious to the abundantly obvious.

“Sticking yourself in an unfamiliar environment 30,000 feet off the ground and therefore away from your comforts of everyday life, surrounded by strangers and even stranger sounds, sits nicely on that spectrum.

“Sprinkle in your likely altered human physiology with lower air pressures and oxygen levels and your body and mind is promoted to go into emotional lability.”

As well as the variety of films on offer, the vast contrast of the cabin environment compared to that of your bedroom could trigger passengers to behave out of character.

The Chase viewers in mayhem over contestant gaffe: ‘I’m f***ing crying’ https://briefnews.eu/the-chase-viewers-in-mayhem-over-contestant-gaffe-im-fing-crying/ https://briefnews.eu/the-chase-viewers-in-mayhem-over-contestant-gaffe-im-fing-crying/#respond Wed, 29 Nov 2017 19:46:46 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/the-chase-viewers-in-mayhem-over-contestant-gaffe-im-fing-crying/

When 18-year-old Essex-born contestant Ryan stepped up to take his turn at the cash builder round with Bradley, 57, he appeared confident in his quizzing skills.

During the quick-fire questions, the ITV show’s host asked: “Which Major League Soccer team did Steven Gerrard join in 2015?”

Seemingly dumbfounded with nerves, the player answered “Manchester United,” leaving fans up in arms on Twitter.

“The Chase is unreal. Steven Gerrard joined which MLS team? ‘Manchester United’,” one shocked fan wrote.

Another continued: “Im f**king crying some guy just got asked on the chase what MLS team did Steven Gerrard join in 2015 and he answered Man United f**king idiot lmfao.”

“Which MLS team did Steven Gerrard join? Man Utd. Upon my soul… where do I start… wrong on so many levels #GangOfChase #TheChase,” a third said angrily, followed by: “Contestant answered ‘Manchester United’!!! Wtf…obv not a footie fan.”(sic)

Viewers continued to voice their annoyance with the contestant’s awkward mistake, as one person posted: “#thechase which MLS team did Steven Gerrard join? Man Utd?!?!? What a t**t. Gerrard wouldn’t have gone to United and we wouldn’t have wanted him!”

“I fear for knowledge with the future generations. In that they will have none and history will be lost. #TheChase,” another added.

Meanwhile, the tense instalment also saw the return of The Beast, also known as Mark Labbett, after a mysterious two-week absence.

While the chaser added fuel to the theories surrounding his disappearance by posting a cryptic tweet on his Twitter account, after the show failed to address the lingering concerns of some viewers.

Comedian Bradley declared that the mighty 52-year-old was “one of the greatest brains in Britain” during one question, so it stands to reason that the most popular member of the team is safe.

The Chase continues tomorrow at 5pm on ITV.

Tony Bellew Uncovered: Crying every day after training, fighting for his family’s lives https://briefnews.eu/tony-bellew-uncovered-crying-every-day-after-training-fighting-for-his-familys-lives/ https://briefnews.eu/tony-bellew-uncovered-crying-every-day-after-training-fighting-for-his-familys-lives/#respond Thu, 05 Oct 2017 12:25:27 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/tony-bellew-uncovered-crying-every-day-after-training-fighting-for-his-familys-lives/

Tony BellewGETTY

Tony Bellew has always tried to put his family first

From the pay-per-view draw he commands to the numbers he tips on the scales, Bellew has quickly become one of the best-known fighters in Britain and the world.

But he is also a working class hero, much as he shuns the title, and his down-to-earth style and family values have made him popular beyond just his Merseyside homeland.

“I’ve invested every penny I have into property so that my kids will be very well looked after so I live like I’m potless,” Bellew said.

“My missus keeps telling me ‘you can get a nicer car’ or whatever but the house is done up, I’ve reinvested it into property.

“I am not a multi-millionaire.”

It was David Haye, former two-weight champion of the world, who gave Bellew that title, another he has to try to escape.

He would much rather be known simply as Tony, although he would also rather not be known at all.

The 34-year-old hates fame. He doesn’t post pictures of his children on social media and if someone disturbs him for a photo when he’s eating, they’d better be ready for a dressing-down.

But you get the impression Bellew would never actually reject such a request. He seems too polite, too humbled.

Tony Bellew and his partner RachaelGETTY

Tony Bellew is due to marry his partner Rachael next yer

Even compared to the man who reiterated his “B**** of Bermondsey” nickname for Haye on Sky One’s League Of Their Own, filmed a few months ago, this Bellew seems a much more sombre man. It briefly presents as the seriousness of the task ahead.

“For these next 12 weeks, I’m going to be scared,” Bellew added, citing his hatred of camp but love of the sport of boxing.

“Every night I will think ‘I’ve got to make it home’. That’s the mentality.

“The last two years of my life, everything has gone great.

“Most nights, me and my missus sit down and we say ‘it’s going that great that something has got to go wrong’. And then what happened, happened.”

What happened was that Ashley Roberts, Bellew’s beloved brother-in-law-to-be, passed away in August at the age of 32.

“It’s heart-breaking. It puts things into perspective. I fight because I like fighting. I’ve got a lot of pent-up anger and frustration in me.

“There’s that many emotions going through my head at the moment.

“All I know is I’ll be in great shape [on December 17].

“I’m in great shape now because all I’ve done is train, go home and cry, train go home and cry for the last three weeks.

“I go to the gym. I punch and everything else goes away. Then you go home.

Tony Bellew and David HayeGETTY

Tony Bellew almost retired after beating David Haye – but admits he couldn’t stay away

“I will dedicate the fight to Ashley. He followed me everywhere. Ash loved boxing and he loved me.”

Unlike Bellew, a lifelong Evertonian, Roberts was a Liverpool season ticket-holder. On derby day, Bellew says, the banter was unrelenting.

But he paid tribute to his dear departed friend even in the first press conference, contrasting his blue three-piece suit with a red tie, a colour he says he usually never wears.

It makes it all the more remarkable that this fight got booked. His family commitments, which have become even greater since father-of-two Roberts’ death, have made him schedule a camp at home instead of abroad and his body is beginning to fail him.

Even before the tragedy, coach Dave Coldwell told his fighter to walk away after the Haye win, while he still had his health.

And Bellew admits he nearly took his advice.

“I was 17-and-a-half stone and I thought ‘can I be arsed getting weight off?’,” Bellew said.

“I enjoy fighting. I can’t stop. I actually like fighting.

“My missus begged me to stop and I was very close to considering it.

“I thought about it after the last fight. My hand was a mess. I’ve broken my hand six times now. My right hand was the size of a balloon in the dressing room afterwards last time.

“I don’t know how much more my body can do. I’m not aesthetically the best. I don’t look a million dollars.

“I don’t have the big six-pack and the beach body. I’ve never believed in that. If you can fight, you can fight.”

He often says he has been fighting all his life. After a second win over Haye, he will hope to hang up his gloves – literally and metaphorically – for good.
