Few names in Chevy lore carry as much weight as Yenko. Yenko Chevrolet in Canonsburg, Pennsylvania, was known for producing some of the sweetest and most sought after muscle cars of all time, including some tuned Camaros and Corvairs. Now Specialty Vehicle Engineering is offering an 800 horsepower supercharged Yenko/SC Chevy Silverado, a quick follow-up to its 1,000 horsepower Yenko Stage II Camaro.

The Yenko name dates all the way back to 1929 when a man named Frank Yenko opened a Durant dealer in Pennsylvania. That dealer eventually folded, but Yenko followed it up a few years later with two Chevrolet dealerships, the second of which was run by Yenko’s son Don. That’s the dealer that built all the hot rods and muscle cars. Yenko business was sold in 1982, though the name has cropped up a few times over the years, licensed by various shops.

This Silverado follows the same formula as most other Yenko-branded products. The truck uses a 6.8-liter GM LT1 V8 with an aluminum block, a forged-steel crank and connecting rods, forged aluminum pistons, ported heads, an upgraded fuel system and a tune. The coup de gras is a custom supercharger that brings the total engine output to 800 horsepower, though there isn’t a torque figure listed.

Other performance upgrades include stainless steel headers, high-flow cats, stainless steel exhaust, six-piston Brembo brakes, 22-inch torque thrust-style wheels with Michelin rubber and lowered suspension (2 inches up front, 5 inches in the rear). Visually, the Yenko/SC Silverado gets Yenko cowl and side stripes, an SYC graphic on the hood, Yenko badges on the grille, door and tailgate, and some other 800 horsepower and 6.8-liter badges and crests.

Now, this package isn’t cheap. It’s $ 46,995 on top of the price of a regular-cab Silverado. There are even a few options including a painted supercharger or some extremely sweet houndstooth seats. The truck does come with a 3-year/36,000-mile limited warranty. There will only be a handful built, so get your $ 10,000 deposit ready.

DAVIS-MONTHAN AIR FORCE BASE, Ariz. (AFNS) — Maj. Kim Campbell, an A-10 Thunderbolt II pilot here, shared her story with Women’s History Month luncheon guests March 15, 2010, about a mission in which her A-10 was hit by enemy fire over Baghdad.

While deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, then-Capt. Campbell and her flight lead were flying over downtown Baghdad during a close-air-support mission April 7, 2003.

There might be sub-zero temperatures here at our headquarters in Ann Arbor, Michigan, but in Japan, BMW is turning up the heat. The Bavarians are treating the Japanese to an extra dose of exclusivity with limited runs of specially equipped M3 and M4 Competition models called the Heat Editions.

Following the release of the X5 M and X6 M Black Fire Editions, these latest cars were again created using a bevy of BMW M Performance parts. Each sports carbon-fiber mirror covers, a carbon front splitter on an M Performance fascia, and a carbon-fiber rear diffuser. Inside is an M Performance steering wheel wrapped in microsuede, and carbon fiber is applied to the iDrive knob, the center console, the dashboard, and the steering wheel. Stainless-steel pedals and Heat Edition badging also are fitted. While red might be an appropriate color for something called the Heat Edition, both of the special M3 and M4 cars are draped in Tanzanite Blue Metallic, a BMW Individual paint color that’s contrasted here with black 20-inch forged aluminum wheels. Only 30 examples—split evenly between M3s and M4s—will be built for Japan, with deliveries slated to start in February.

In other BMW of Japan news, the company also announced that it will expand the availability of its 3-series M Sport Edition Shadow in that country. Now available on the 318i, the 320i, the 320i xDrive, the 320d, and the 330e plug-in hybrid, the package features 19-inch M Performance wheels, blacked-out kidney grilles, and darkened lenses for the LED head- and taillamps. The Shadow cars also get black dakota leather seats and carbon-fiber interior trim, and wear an exclusive orange exterior hue.

The United midfielder has pressed the button on the championship mind games after just five games with the two Manchester clubs locked at the top of the table with identical points and goals records.

Herrera points to City’s record-breaking £210m spend, plus the fact they failed to win a trophy in their first season under Pep Guardiola, to insist there is more “obligation” to win the title at the Etihad to keep the club’s Abu Dhabi owners happy.

“City have spent the biggest amount in the Premier League so they are the principle contenders for the title,” he said. “We have quality as well but because of the money they have spent they are the favourites.

“We won three trophies last season and City didn’t win anything. They are under pressure. They need titles to keep everyone happy. They are obligated to win something. They have more obligation than us.

“We will try to be there. There is pressure when you spend a lot but there is also pressure on us because we are the biggest club in England.

“But you know when you play for Manchester United that you are under an obligation to win things and I like that obligation.”

Herrera has ignored the fact that City’s net spend is actually lower than United’s. Their £210m outlay was balanced by recouping £86m from sales, leaving a net spend of £124m.

Ignoring add-ons, United spent £140m – including a club-record £75m on striker Romelu Lukaku – but brought in only £9m from the sale of Adnan Januzaj, leaving a net spend of £131m.

Apart from having the same totals of points and goals scored and conceded, United and City’s other stats are remarkably similar.

United have had 94 goal attempts to City’s 93, their shooting accuracy is 53 per cent compared to City 52.8, and their conversion rate is 24 per cent to City’s 22.

But City have won 41 corners to United’s 40, have a better passing accuracy of 88 per cent to United’s 86, while they have enjoyed 69 per cent possession to United’s 59. Both teams have hit the woodwork four times.

The first Manchester derby is scheduled for December 9 at Old Trafford.

If you want the “best” Windows laptop right now, it’s hard to argue with stuff like Dell’s XPS 13 2-in-1 or HP’s Spectre x360. But a lot of the time, people don’t want the “best” laptop so much as they want the best laptop they can get for a certain amount of money.

In the last couple of years, a few of Asus’ midrange Zenbooks have done a nice job striking a balance between price and features. The $ 700-ish Zenbook UX305 laptops in particular were easy to recommend, though the Zenbook Flip model that debuted at the same price had a few too many flaws for our liking.
