Close friendships are hard to find. Perhaps that’s why the established bond between besties Delilah (How to Get Away With Murder‘s Maahra Hill) and Tamara (Girlfriends‘ Jill Marie Jones) feels so believable in the Season 1 premiere of OWN’s new legal drama Delilah. When Delilah’s ex-husband Gordon (Lyriq Bent) created drama and confusion at Maia’s violin recital, it was Tamara who ran interference so that the two wouldn’t argue in front of their kids. And all of those lunches and after-work dinners together really helped keep both attorneys grounded as they navigated the stresses of their day-to-day lives and careers. But Delilah is too much of a social justice crusader to walk away from a good fight against a bully. Not to mention the fact that Osborne Tactical is shady AF and possibly murdered Leah’s morally compromised former coworker Gary just before he could tell Delilah the real deal on those faulty radios the company manufactured. That, coupled with the way the company tried to buy Leah’s silence, definitely has Delilah pulling receipts. Delilah also has something Tamara doesn’t: Mason (The Walking Dead: World Beyond‘s Joe Holt). He’s the detective and clean-up man of sorts that snoops around and gets Delilah the intel she can’t dig up on Google. Other touches of note in the premiere include the use of Mary J. Blige’s “Work That” in the opening credits. Not coincidentally, this is the same song Vice President Kamala Harris walked out to when she and President Biden won the election. Delilah, in addition to taking care of her own two kids, is also helping to raise her adorable nephew Dion. He’s the son of her younger brother, a military veteran whose injury during his second tour has left him wheelchair bound. Yup, Delilah is a bona fide superwoman, but she’s still human, and she even wears a silk bonnet on her hair when she goes to bed. And chile, it doesn’t get more authentic than that. Give the Delilah series premiere a grade in our poll, and hit the comments to share your first impressions. Will you keep watching? “He’s doing more than shuffling around, he really researches the dances,” Craig slammed. “He works hours and hours on end. He has been able to lay his dance hand on any style he has been given.” Turning his attention to Ranvir, Craig shared: “Ravir and that dreadful Jive she did, it wasn’t good at all.” “Hang on, you can’t come on Good Morning Britain and trash us,” Piers snapped. Clara Amfo and Aljaz Skorjanec were the first couple taking to the Strictly Come Dancing dance floor on Saturday evening as they hoped to bounce back from an underwhelming performance last week. Kicking the BBC show off with a jive, the fast-paced routine sadly appeared to get the better of the Radio 1 DJ however, after a series of missteps and awkward timing fails. And with the competition now in full swing, judge Craig Revel Horwood did not mince his words when it came to his criticism. Moments after their routine, Clara and Aljaz turned to Craig for his thoughts on the dance. And he let loose: “You lost your balance on the leap at the beginning and I think that set you off on a bit of a wobbly, darling. “You need to be a lot higher up on your toes in this dance as well. “You lost your footing through the chase section, (and) you forgot the routine halfway through which was unfortunate.” READ MORE: Tess Daly’s dress distracts Strictly Come Dancing fans as she ‘blends’ into set Their score also landed them at the bottom of the leaderboard heading into the public vote. However, it doesn’t seem to have put Strictly viewers off who took to social media in their hundreds to throw their support behind the star. Sadly, the same couldn’t be said for the likes of Bill Bailey and Clara Amfo, who both were pulled up for missing steps in their respective dances. “Right @claraamfo stans,” said one fan on Twitter. “It’s time to save Clara again with the vote #Strictly.” The soap star’s chances of winning currently stand at 2/1, with The Wanted singer Max George, 32, her hottest competition at 5/1. “We think that Maisie is the one to beat on the dance floor this year and price her up as the hot favourite to win Strictly 2020,” Coral spokesperson Harry Aitkenhead said. On the other end of the spectrum, comedian Bill Bailey, 55, and former Home Secretary Jacqui Smith, 57, are at 50/1 to win. “We think that Bill and Jacqui are going to be battling it out to avoid being the first celebrity of the series to be eliminated, and their odds of winning are very long indeed,” Aitkenhead added. Strictly Come Dancing returns this month on BBC One.RELATED STORIES
But as viewers learned in Tuesday’s series opener, their close friendship will be put to the test in future episodes as Delilah takes on Leah’s (In the Dark‘s Saycon Sengbloh) case against military supplier Osborne Tactical and Tamara defends them in court. After all, if Tamara takes the case and wins, she could make partner. Because the stakes are so high for her, Tamara even tries to convince Delilah to kick Leah, their old college chum, to the curb to avoid any possible personal or professional conflicts.
And her team, which also includes her diligent assistant Harper (Superior Donuts‘ Ozioma Akagha), could be expanding. Although Delilah told that fresh-out-of-law-school grad Demetria (Susan Heyward) that she didn’t have the budget to hire her, something tells us she will find a way to add her to her staff. Delilah will have to rely on all the help she can in order to take down a company like Osborne Tactical.

Although it was hard to rejoice watching Tuesday’s Greenleaf, knowing as we did that it would be the last time the OWN drama took us to church, we still couldn’t help but let out the occasional hallelujah. (Yes, it was that good; click here to read the full recap.) Joining TVLine to unpack the series’ ending — and the promise of a new beginning that it included — is creator Craig Wright.
TVLINE | Tell me about the decision to have Bishop die. Did you know that was going to happen from the start of the show?
I didn’t quite know it. I knew that the series was inevitably going to have to be about the eclipse of male power, because the male power in the Black churches, it’s like the sacred cow. It’s the thing you’re not ever allowed to kick at. So I knew that if we were gonna tell a story that had any live energy, it was gonna have to be about gnawing away, in the most respectful way, at the foundations of male authority. But I did not exactly have in mind that the Bishop had to die. As we got closer and closer to the end, I just realized that anything less than that was going to feel tired.
TVLINE | As if she hadn’t a million times already, Lady Mae really came into her own in the finale — that sermon was fire! Is it safe to assume that the spinoff will focus on her new role as pastor of the church?
I think Lady Mae’s new role as the pastor of this church or another church is definitely going be the tentpole of whatever we do next. When I saw her [preaching], it made me even more excited about the spinoff, because when you hear Lady Mae talking about how to love the past enough to let it go and how to look for the future, it’s just so exciting to me to do another chapter in the story.
TVLINE | Lynn Whitfield has got to have become for you what Jessica Lange is for Ryan Murphy: a muse.
A muse, a resource… She has as much if not more of a vision of what this show can accomplish for its audience than I do. And I have always thought of her as one of my most important partners, along with Oprah [Winfrey], in figuring out what the show is.
TVLINE | I feel ghoulish asking — Bishop’s body isn’t even cold yet! — but have you contemplated what it would look like for Lady Mae to find love again?
Oh, I think even if we trotted out Idris Elba with a Bible in his hand, Lady Mae would have a hard time moving on. But as Lynn always reminds me, Lady Mae is a sexual woman, a woman of passion and desire. So eventually, she would come around. But we can’t make it easy. If it was easy, Lady Mae’s character would break.
TVLINE | Am I right that you were laying the groundwork for a possible Tasha/Jacob/Tara triangle?
Completely. That was exactly what I wanted to do, because… well, it’s obvious why! Tara is so sweet and gentle, and Tasha is so, you know, fiery and a little bit silly — but adorable. I think it’s a great set of options for Jacob to consider as he continues to try to find his moral and masculine center as sort of the last standing male in the family.
TVLINE | Charity made an amazing transformation over the course of the series. What do you imagine the next chapter of her life looks like? Does Phil stand a chance someday, or is she as done-done with him as she said?
Phil won’t be back until Season 3 of the new show. But where Charity’s concerned… the most exciting thing to do when we see her next time is to find her being the peaceful and still repository of wisdom and strength. Just totally turn [the character] on its head and have her be someone who is a resource to everybody while her mother, oddly enough, is struggling to control the giant machine that she’s in the middle of leading.
TVLINE | Meaning the church, or… ?
A larger amalgamated church that’s living in the shadow of the Black Lives Matter movement and COVID-19 and trying to figure out what the gospel means in that immensely pivotal time.
TVLINE | Will Grace be a part of the spinoff at all?
Well, I feel certain that she will be a part of a story. In what way remains to be seen. Grace needs to go find her destiny. It isn’t in the church — at least not In today’s church. I see Grace more like Oprah. She’s someone who has to find a place in popular culture where she can really lead a secular movement.
What do you think? Based on Wright’s description, will you be tuning in for the spinoff? Hit the comments with your thoughts.

Strictly Come Dancing has become a British institution and something fans of the BBC dance show look forward to each and every Autumn. Craig Revel Horwood, 55, is just one of the judges of the panel, critiquing a whole plethora of celebrity talent from all corners of the star-studded world. With the coronavirus crisis bringing the world to a halt in recent months, bosses were working hard to try and come up with a way the programme could still go ahead, whilst adhering to social distancing rules. However, with the rumour mill still in overdrive whether production has been given the green light, the Australian theatre star has now confirmed the news viewers have been waiting for.
Production on some of Britain’s most beloved television shows are just starting to get up and running again after the government gave the green light for filming to resume.
The Saturday night entertainment programme is not set to air until at least September, meaning there is still some time before viewers get to see celebrities don flamboyant clothes and strut their stuff on the dance floor.
With this in mind and appearing on today’s edition of Loose Women, Craig explained the annual extravaganza is still going ahead.
Though the format may be slightly different from what viewers are used to as stars of the show will be adhering to social distancing measures.
Craig told the ITV panel show presenters: “I’m looking forward to the show because it’s going to be a completely different creative look at it.
“I think when you’re pushed into corners, like having two-metre rules and all of that, I think it will make some wonderful TV.
“So, it’s going to be interesting and it’s going to be fantastic and I’m super excited because it’s going ahead, finally,” he added.
The judge also mentioned the 2020 season could see the show’s first same-sex couple after reports emerged this too could be scrapped this year.
It seems bosses have fought back against the programme being axed altogether, which has been at the centre of much debate since the coronavirus crisis hit back in March.
Craig and his fellow judges, Shirley Ballas, 59, and Motsi Mabuse, 39, have all been voicing their hopes the programme would return in some format for the past three months.
At the moment, it is unknown whether Bruno Tonioli, 64, will be joining the panel, due to his commitments to Dancing With The Stars in America.
Until the new season gets underway, there is still a treat for viewers as three special episodes have been commissioned.

Filmed during the lockdown, hosts Tess Daly, 51, and Claudia Winkleman, 48, will be taking a look back through the archives to relive some of the show’s most memorable moments.
Controller of BBC Entertainment, Kate Phillips said: “Strictly Come Dancing has produced so many magical and memorable moments in the movie, musical and Blackpool weeks.
“The three special episodes will look back and celebrate these, bringing some much needed Strictly sparkle to the nation.”
There is no official word on when the episodes will air, but the rumour mill is still rife as to who could be joining this year’s all-star cast.
One such television veteran punters seem to have their eyes on signing up is This Morning star Eamonn Holmes, 60, whose wife Ruth Langsford, 60, took part in 2017.
Coral bookmakers have the presenter at 2-1 to be unveiled as a member of this year’s cast list, with his chances having previously been at 3-1.
Although, his odds of winning are quite scarce, as he stands at 33-1 to walk away with the Glitterball Trophy.
“Eamonn’s wife Ruth took part in Strictly in 2017 and we think he could follow in her footsteps later this year,” Coral spokesperson John Hill said.
Strictly Come Dancing returns later this year on BBC One.
Of course, Karl knows he wouldn’t have been caught if it weren’t for Craig and Dev, so they could find history repeating itself if Karl were to lock them in a situation they couldn’t escape from.
Dev is already struggling at the moment after learning his daughter Asha’s (Tanisha Gorey) intimate photos had gone viral.
After going to the police and not getting the answer he was looking for, could the Alahan family find themselves coming face to face with Karl?

Who’s up for another trip to the Bodega Bathroom?
Comedian John Mulaney will host the Feb. 29 episode of Saturday Night Live, NBC announced Thursday, marking his third visit to Studio 8H.
Formerly a writer for SNL, Mulaney previously hosted the sketchfest in April 2018 and March 2019, respectively blessing us with the “Diner Lobster” and aforementioned “Bodega Bathroom” sketches. He’ll be joined in February by musical guest David Byrne, who also recently appeared on Mulaney’s Netflix special John Mulaney and the Sack Lunch Bunch.
Actor Daniel Craig will then host the March 7 installment to promote the upcoming James Bond film, No Time to Die (in theaters April 10). This will be Craig’s second time hosting, while musical guest The Weeknd will be back for his third appearance.
As previously reported, RuPaul will preside over SNL‘s Feb. 8 episode with performances from Justin Bieber. The show most recently welcomed NFL player J.J. Watt; watch video of his best and worst sketches here.

“His strengths lie in Latin – in hip actions and telling stories. He possesses great musicality and rhythm and he blew everyone away with his first dance.
“If he reaches the final and dances the Salsa, then I can definitely see him lifting the Glitterball trophy.
“Plus, he’s loved by the nation.”
Craig went on to address Kelvin’s weaknesses, saying: “He struggles with ballroom.

On a huge wave of hype and a little over a year away from its release date, it is confirmed that James Bond 25 – which is as-yet-untitled – has begun principle photography in Norway. And though Craig himself does not appear to have been present for scenes shot in Nittedal, the pictures do reveal a mysterious masked villain. Could this person mean big trouble for Craig’s 007 in the upcoming blockbuster?
Accompanying video – which can be seen above – shows a young girl running away from a house while the unnerving masked man limps behind her.
At one point she stands on what seems to resemble a sheet of ice, before falling down – perhaps the point at which VFX could be used to have her disappear underwater.
The presumed villain is then seen shooting at the floor and bending down – indicating he could try saving her, despite earlier giving chase.
Full casting for the new movie has not yet been revealed, so it’s unclear who is playing the masked man and who is playing the child.
There’s also, of course, the possibility that the masked man is a double or stand-in for another actor, and the mask isn’t actually a character trait.
The script – rewritten by Scott Z Burns – was reported to have been finished just days ago, after Ralph Fiennes and Ben Whishaw had recently claimed to have not yet heard about the story.
Fiennes, who plays M, said just weeks ago: “I don’t know the name of the film, I haven’t had access to a screenplay yet.
“Honestly, I’m not being coy. I don’t know when it starts or what the story is.”
Craig’s swansong as 007 has faced numerous delays: it was initially slated for release in November of this year.
That was eventually nudged back to Valentine’s Day 2020, before finally being pushed again to April 8 next year.
Whishaw – who plays Q – was recently reported to have told fans to expect a press conference detailing the full cast, and presumably the title, in the very near future; though this has yet to be confirmed.
Shatterhand, believed to have been the working title at some point, was recently ruled out by top boss Barbara Broccoli.
Eclipse has since been touted as a potential moniker for it.
James Bond 25 is out on April 8, 2020.
