Miz Cracker will Ru the day she decided to mess with Ongina. As seen in this sneak peek from Friday’s Drag Race All Stars (VH1, 8/7c), the queens haven’t forgotten what Cracker said to Ongina atop last week’s episode — and they want an explanation.

“My intention was to say, ‘Ongina, I want you to believe in yourself because I need to see that,’” Cracker says. “I went about it wrong. I should have said that, not what I said.”

Unsurprisingly, the queens aren’t buying it. “I don’t believe none of this,” Mayhem Miller says. “I’m just going to be real. I smell shenanigans, foolery and some tricks and shows. It’s not feeling authentic.”

“All I can do is apologize and say I was wrong,” Cracker replies, to which Alexis Mateo points out that it’s easy for Cracker to admit this now that it’s over. Moving forward, Alexis says, “I want to get to know everybody for real. If I don’t trust you, I’m going to go against you.”

But wait, there’s more. Jujubee then chimes in about what Alexis said to Cracker, saying, “I think you’re playing head games — and it’s working on some of these bitches.”

So, to recap: Cracker upset Ongina, which irked Mayhem, which riled up Alexis, which troubled Jujubee. Just another day in the All Stars 5 werkroom.

The clip also lays out this week’s maxi challenge, which requires the queens to team up and design a “signature suite for a five-star Ru-tique hotel.” Cracker is matched with Mariah Paris Balenciaga and Shea Coulee (who’s “feeling $ 20,000 richer” after last week’s win); Jujubee is joined by India Ferrah and Alexis; and Mayhem is paired with Blair St. Clair.

With the game seemingly headed for penalties, the Uruguayan unleashed from the edge of the penalty area with a shot that as too good for Roar goalkeeper Jamie Young.

But the result was overshadowed by a scary incident that left City midfielder Luke Brattan unable to be moved for more than 40 minutes.

Fortunately for Brattan, fears late eased that he suffered a serious a spinal injury after copping an accidental boot to the head from Roar player Stefan Mauk in the 36th minute.

Brattan, a former Roar championship-winning player, lay on the turf being tended to by medical staff from both clubs.

While a St John’s Ambulance was at the ground, a lack of proper equipment to deal with the suspected neck and spinal problems led to the decision being made to wait for a Queensland Ambulance to arrive.

However in good news, a Melbourne City spokesman later said the injury was not as bad as first feared.

He said Brattan had pins and needles sensation in his arms but had movement in his legs, and was taken to Redcliffe Hospital in a precautionary measure to undergo a series of tests.

The incident occurred when Brattan slipped while battling for possession with Mauk, who joined the Roar in the off-season from City.

Brattan fell to the ground as Mauk lunged for the ball, and Mauk accidentally made contact with Brattan’s head.

Play eventually resumed, with the Roar’s French winger Eric Bautheac having a great chance to put Brisbane ahead in the 57th minute after a Jack Hingert cross found him at the far post.

But the marquee man failed to keep his volley under the crossbar.

The Roar continued to attack with Danish winger Tobias Mikkelsen finding Henrique with a low cross in the 64th minute.

But Brisbane’s Brazilian-Australian livewire was foiled by a timely tackle from City defender Nathaniel Atkinson.

Fornaroli had good chances late in normal time to put the visitors ahead but failed to hit target on both occasions.

However, he made amends in the 120th minute to break Roar hearts in front of 6151 fans and continue Brisbane’s poor FFA Cup record.

City coach Warren Joyce paid tribute to both teams for the way they handled the tough situation involving Brattan.

“Nobody like people leave in an ambulance, so I think it has an effect on everybody connected with the game tonight,” Joyce said.

“In saying that, the mentality and the attitude to get on with the game, and play at such a tempo at this stage in the season was a credit to both sets of players.”

Roar coach John Aloisi was shattered after his side’s defeat.

“I’m gutted, so are the players. We deserved to win, we had the better chances … didn’t punish them and then to concede a goal late on like that, a world-class finish, it’s hard to take,” said Aloisi, who also expressed his concern about Brattan.

“As long as Brattan’s okay, that’s the main thing.”

More and more authorities in the US are getting access to an affordable device that can unlock iPhones, according to Motherboard. The publication’s investigation has revealed that a number of local and regional police forces, including Maryland’s and Indiana’s, have either already bought or are thinking of buying a new piece of iPhone-cracking technology called GrayKey. It reportedly works even on phones running iOS 11, Apple’s latest mobile platform, and even if authorities are using it on an iPhone X. Motherboard says the State Department already has one of its own, while the Secret Service and the Drug Enforcement Administration are planning to buy some.

Based on an earlier report by Malwarebytes, GrayKey is a small box that can unlock two iPhones at a time. (See the two connectors in the image of the device below?) It was developed by Atlanta company Grayshift, which is run by long-time US intelligence agency contractors and a former Apple security engineer, according to Forbes. To use GrayKey, all cops need to do is connect a phone to it for two minutes. They simply have to wait a bit after it’s unplugged to see a black screen pop up with the passcode — how long they’d have to wait depends on how complex the passcode/passphrase is.

But more than being easy to use, it’s incredibly affordable for what it can do. If you’ll recall, the feds paid Israeli company Cellebrite $ 900,000 to crack open the San Bernardino shooter’s iPhone after Apple repeatedly refused to do it for them. Currently, Cellebrite unlocks phones for at least $ 5,000 each, but even that amount is comparably enormous to how much cops have to spend for every GrayKey unlock.

There are two GrayKey variants available: one will set government agencies back $ 15,000, while the other will cost them $ 30,000. They can use the more expensive of the two to unlock as many iPhones as they want. The cheaper version has a limit of 300 devices, but even that isn’t so bad when you do the math — that’s only $ 50 per device.

FBI chief Christopher Wray called encryption a “major public safety issue” when he revealed that the bureau couldn’t get to the evidence stored in 7,775 devices it failed to access the previous year. It’s unclear whether they already ran the iPhones in that pile through a GrayKey, but (short of telling tech giants to add a backdoor to their devices) he urged companies to work with the government in creating a way to access phones owned by suspects.

So, why are authorities still calling for a backdoor when devices like GrayKey already exist? As Motherboard points out, phone-cracking devices exploit security holes, which Apple, Google and other phonemakers can patch up anytime. A backdoor would ensure they can access data whatever the device is and even if it’s running the latest mobile OS.

In just a few years, the ENB has made its latest Nutcracker a real contender in the overcrowded Christmas stages across the UK.

Last year’s London leg saw almost 80,000 thrilled by the sumptuous retelling of the most seasonal of ballets.

This year has seen the ENB dazzle London with Akram Khan’s jaw-dropping reinvention of Giselle before settling back in the comfortable crinolines and confectionary of the perennial favourite.

A new cast saw Shiori Kase as Clara and Joseph Caley as the Nephew in a performance that delivered pace and virtuoso delights. 

It’s easy to become cynical about this ballet. Performed every year by a bewildering array of companies, it’s tempting to dismiss it as a tired cliche, a childish anachronism. But then you sit there in the dark as toys come to life, snow starts to fall and childishness gives way to childlike wonder.

From the moment the curtains reveal ice skaters in snowy Victoriana, this production never lets up the pace, but it’s when midnight strikes that this version comes to joyous life.

The rats are nicely done and the toy soldiers and their hobby horses have the delightful and familiar feel of well-loved toys rather than flashes costumes. I also particularly loved the inventive use of a giant rat trap to catapult cheese back the massed military foe.

Drosselmeyer’s hot air balloon also provide a moment of truly splendid wonder for kids (and the rest of us) of all ages.

The ENB decision to have Clara danced by an adult principal rather than a teenage waif can be a huge advantage. Shiori Kase is technically impressive in the role and comes into her own in icy spelndour for the grand pas de deux and iconic finale.

She is less convincing as the innocent young Clara and stiffly fails to communicate any sense of wonder or girlish glee as she starts her extraordinary adventure.

and Alina Cojocaru is a dream from the moment she is swept in the snowy forest. Leaps, extensions and spins float as featherlight as her fluttering shift and your spirits soar with her.

Guilherme Menezes as her Nutcracker is dynamic and Joseph Caley is a delight of clean lines and beaming exhuberance as the handsome Nephew (the Nutcracker in human form).

The corps de ballet is pleasingly drilled and full of delights in the snowflakes set piece. They also make a sumptuous and stirring explosion of colour and clarity in a thrilling Waltz of the Flowers that raised as many cheers as the usual crowd-pleasing solos.

Some productions stage the final act in a palace, making the succession of folk dances become slightly wearisome in a static setting.The ENB makes a virtue of economy by leaving it in the forest with changing backdrops and lighting for each dance, transporting us to Spain, Arabia, China and beyond. It’s the first time I actually enjoyed each one as a standalone vignette.

With deft and delightful choreography throughout by Wayne Eagling and lavish sets and costumes, this is a fine Nutcracker, indeed.

That pesky wisdom tooth you’re glad you got rid of is apparently a great source of stem cells that could save lives. However, it’s not easy getting to the tooth root pulp that contains those cells: drilling into the tooth generates damaging heat that lowers the number of cells that can be harvested. In addition, the water used to rinse the tooth could have corrosive elements and the enamel particulates from the drilling could contaminate the pulp. To solve that issue, a team of researchers from the University of Nevada Las Vegas have developed a device they hilarious call the “Tooth Cracker 5000” to extract 80 percent of the stem cells a pulp contains.

The “Tooth Cracker 5000” has a clamp that holds a tooth in place while a blade carefully cracks it. This method doesn’t damage or contaminate the pulp and results in a perfectly halved tooth — the team proved that the technique is effective by testing it on 25 teeth samples and achieving a 100 percent success rate. The scientists were able to harvest 80 percent of those sample pulps’ stem cells, which is four times more than what you could typically extract from a pulp that was extracted by drilling or shattering teeth.

Dr. James Mah, team leader and director of UNLV’s advanced education program in orthodontics, said:

“Saying the test results were promising is a gross understatement. We realized we’d invented an extraction process that produced four times the recovery success rate for viable stem cells. The potential application is enormous.”

Stem cells, as you might know, can transform into other cells and have the potential to be used as treatments for various diseases. They could turn into neurons, for instance, and be used to treat people suffering from Alzheimer’s or Parkinson’s. They could also turn into cells that produce insulin for patients with diabetes. Most stem cell therapies are still experimental, though. That’s why the next step for Mah and his team has something to do with preserving them: they’re thinking of developing a cryogenic process to freeze stem cells harvested from teeth for future use.
