While the X Factor UK may not have aired on ITV this year, it hasn’t stopped head judge and music mogul Simon Cowell making waves in the franchise overseas. That’s because today, Simon announced he’d be joining the line-up of judges for the fourth season of the singing contest in Israel.

In a statement obtained by Deadline, Simon expressed his excitement at the new role.

“Over the years The X Factor format discovered amazing talents from all over the world,

“I can’t wait to see what Israel have to offer.”

It’s the first mention of a return to work from Simon following back surgery earlier this year after an electric bike accident.

“Simon controls it – when does he want it to come back and how does he want it to come back? And hopefully, we can be part of that.”

Nevertheless, X Factor fans in Israel were quick to weigh in with their thoughts on Simon’s appointment.

One excited fan said on Twitter: “WEBSITES IN ISRAEL SAYING THAT SIMON COWELL IS GOING TO BE JUGDE IN X FACTOR HERE WTF JEUFURJFBWBXBS.”

“Simon Cowell we love you in Israel welcome! @SimonCowell,” a second added.

Britain’s Got Talent: Simon Cowell gives update on future of ITV show ‘Going to miss it’ https://briefnews.eu/britains-got-talent-simon-cowell-gives-update-on-future-of-itv-show-going-to-miss-it/ https://briefnews.eu/britains-got-talent-simon-cowell-gives-update-on-future-of-itv-show-going-to-miss-it/#respond Tue, 01 Sep 2020 01:09:42 +0000 https://briefnews.eu/britains-got-talent-simon-cowell-gives-update-on-future-of-itv-show-going-to-miss-it/

But this next stage will be “like nothing we’ve seen before”, promised Simon.

The music mogul will unfortunately miss the conclusion of this year’s competition as he recovers from back surgery, following his biking accident a couple of weeks ago.

But he has teased there will be many elements that have changed so as to adhere to strict government rules and regulations, including a new socially-distanced format.

“I thought, ‘Where there’s a will, there’s a way’,” he recalled, fearing whether this series would be able to go ahead.

America’s Got Talent: Simon Cowell to Skip Live Shows After Breaking Back https://briefnews.eu/americas-got-talent-simon-cowell-to-skip-live-shows-after-breaking-back/ https://briefnews.eu/americas-got-talent-simon-cowell-to-skip-live-shows-after-breaking-back/#respond Sun, 09 Aug 2020 22:54:38 +0000 https://briefnews.eu/americas-got-talent-simon-cowell-to-skip-live-shows-after-breaking-back/

Simon Cowell will not surprisingly be skipping America’s Got Talent‘s first two live shows this week as he recovers from back surgery. An NBC rep confirms to TVLine that Cowell will be MIA during AGT‘s inaugural live episodes on Tuesday Aug. 11 and Wednesday Aug. 12.

Cowell broke his back on Saturday while testing his new electric bike in the courtyard of his Malibu, Calif. home. He was rushed to the hospital, where he underwent a five-hour surgery. He is currently recovering at home.

“Simon had surgery overnight and is doing okay this morning. It was a five-hour surgery and he has had to have a number of fusions and metal rod put into his back,” a source told People. “He landed on his back when he fell from the bike. The injuries are bad but he’s also been told he was lucky.”

This is the latest setback to befall Americas’s Got Talent‘s current 15th season. After a months-long shutdown due to COVID-19, the summer smash resumed production in late June — albeit with a host of new changes. As a safety precaution, AGT relocated from its lavish Hollywood auditorium venue to an outdoor setup in Simi Valley designed to resemble a drive-in movie theater, with judges Cowell, Howie Mandel, Heidi Klum and newcomer Sofia Vergara now seated an appropriate distance from one another. Additionally, the number of Judge Cuts episodes was trimmed from four to just one.

X Factor Celebrity: ‘Embarrassing’ viewers slam Simon Cowell as he changes rules on air https://briefnews.eu/x-factor-celebrity-embarrassing-viewers-slam-simon-cowell-as-he-changes-rules-on-air/ https://briefnews.eu/x-factor-celebrity-embarrassing-viewers-slam-simon-cowell-as-he-changes-rules-on-air/#respond Sat, 09 Nov 2019 23:53:54 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/x-factor-celebrity-embarrassing-viewers-slam-simon-cowell-as-he-changes-rules-on-air/

X Factor Celebrity has featured a host of famous faces try their hand at singing on Simon Cowell’s latest show. This evening, as Simon found two of his acts, V5 and No Love Lost, in the bottom two, he left viewers confused as he hinted they could both stay in the competition.

This evening saw No Love Lost, a group made up of four 2018 Love Island contestants, eliminated from the competition, as Louis Walsh and Nicole Scherzinger voted to save the other group in the bottom two, V5.

For the first time in the competition, there was a sing-off between the two acts with the lowest votes, as the two groups went head to head to fight for a place in next week’s show.

Nicole and Louis opted to save V5, which meant Simon’s vote would not have changed the result.

However, In a shock turn of events, he appeared to introduce a change to the rules live on air, after one of his groups was voted out.

“How many rules does @simoncowell need to make up on the spot? He’s ad-libbing this whole thing. #XFactor #CelebrityXFactor,” asked one confused viewer.

Another shared: “What’s the bet Simon has only just come up with this vote for bringing someone back just because both his acts are in the bottom 2? Yes it’s his show, but the format manipulation every 5 minutes is terrible. No wonder it’s failing. #XFactor #XFactorCelebrity”

“Simon making the rules up as the show progresses is embarrassing. Each week is another nail in the coffin. #XFactorCelebrity #XFactor,” tweeted a third.

“Simon just bends the rules to suit his acts #XFactor,” decided another.

A fifth angered viewer stated: “The X Factor is a mess. @ITV NEED to axe it now. Simon Cowell is the problem and is the reason why there’s only 3 million people watching. #XFactorCelebrity #XFactor

It comes after it was revealed that X Factor Celebrity had been suffering from low ratings.

Telly Mix reported that only 3.5 million viewers tuned in for the first live show on October 26th, and has struggled as its rival Strictly Come Dancing has been getting far greater figures.

This week, it was also revealed that the X Factor: All Stars format, which was meant to air this year, had been scrapped.

The show, which was to feature successful contestants from the past, was dropped, as Simon last week announced his new show plan X Factor: The Band

There have also been rumours that the backstage team has been changed in an attempt to try and reignite the show.

A source told The Daily Star: “It’s not uncommon for creative teams to change throughout a series run. And that means making tough decisions.”

Who will prove a hit with the judges and viewers as the show continues next weekend?

The X Factor: Celebrity returns next Saturday at 8.20pm on ITV

What’s more, she performed a song off an album she had previously released, meaning viewers weren’t happy.

Britain’s Got Talent 2019: Simon Cowell snubs former BGT winners after massive claim https://briefnews.eu/britains-got-talent-2019-simon-cowell-snubs-former-bgt-winners-after-massive-claim/ https://briefnews.eu/britains-got-talent-2019-simon-cowell-snubs-former-bgt-winners-after-massive-claim/#respond Sat, 07 Sep 2019 21:31:22 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/britains-got-talent-2019-simon-cowell-snubs-former-bgt-winners-after-massive-claim/

Britain’s Got Talent: The Champions brought another collection of contestants to the forefront this evening to battle it out as the best act on the show.

The huge array of acts consisted of singers, dancer, ventriloquists, and comedians.

One of the stranger acts came from Germany – an 11-year-old girl named Alexa Lauenburger and her eight dogs.

Alexa brought an intricate and highly-choreographed routine to the stage with her dogs to the tune of The Greatest Showman.

The act included the dogs working together to perform jumps, and even an eight-dog conga line.

It was so well received by hosts Ant and Dec that it garnered the much-coveted Golden Buzzer, sending Alexa and her puppy pals straight to the final.

However during Simon Cowell’s praise he seemed to snub a previous winner of Britain’s Got Talent.

The media mogul announced: “You at your age – to have that relationship with those gorgeous, gorgeous dogs is absolutely amazing.

“This is the best dog act I have ever ever seen!”

However fans of the show were quick to point out the other major dog act that has graced the stage with their paws: Ashleigh and Pudsey.

READ MORE: ITV This Morning: BGT dance act in tears over ‘emotional’ performance for Simon Cowell

The duo won the competition back in 2012, and went down in history as the first dog act to win the competition.

Simon continued by adding: “This is one of the best acts we’ve ever had.”

Fans of the show were ecstatic over the act as well, as one wrote: “Well that makes Pudsey look right s**t!! (god rest his soul) #BGTChampions #Alexa #BGT.”

Another added: “B****y hell that German lass has put Pudsey to shame wow #bgt #BritainFirst #BGTChampions.”

Later in the show Jai McDowall returned to the stage to complete his act once again – but Simon recently told The Sun he had to apologise for slamming the act in 2011.

He told the publication: “I did feel when I saw him again that he’s the definition of a proud man.

“He didn’t sulk — he just came back to prove a point. And he did. I knew I had to apologise to him at that moment.

“It gave me a chance to say something publicly I should have said some time ago.

“But it was also the fact he had the guts to come back and compete, knowing I wasn’t that supportive the first time he was on the show.

Britain’s Got Talent 2019: ‘All about them’ Simon Cowell spills on most ‘annoying’ judge https://briefnews.eu/britains-got-talent-2019-all-about-them-simon-cowell-spills-on-most-annoying-judge/ https://briefnews.eu/britains-got-talent-2019-all-about-them-simon-cowell-spills-on-most-annoying-judge/#respond Wed, 28 Aug 2019 23:59:15 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/britains-got-talent-2019-all-about-them-simon-cowell-spills-on-most-annoying-judge/

Simon Cowell, 59 welcomes a number of champions from Britain’s Got Talent this weekend for the special The Champions series.

While he may be looking forward to seeing former contestants return, he may not feel the same about the judging panel.

The media mogul heads up the panel with Amanda Holden, David Walliams and Alesha Dixon.

And, ahead of the series launch, Simon has spoken out about which judge he finds the most “annoying”.

David has gotten into water fights with Simon, dropped his pants live on air and even joked about the head judge’s sex life love on TV.

It’s therefore not too surprising to hear Simon has complained of David’s wacky behaviour and his love of stealing the spotlight.

Speaking about his fellow judge, Simon said: “David is David .He just loves being the centre of attention.

“He’s like all comics, you know, they live for that attention. You’ll never ever change him.”

However, Simon admitted the show wouldn’t be the same with David.

“As annoying as he is if he wasn’t there, I think you’d miss him,” he commented.

Simon went on to joke David doesn’t understand the Golden Buzzer is for the performer and not for him.

The father-of-one continued: “Even if he’s got the golden buzzer he’s parading up and down in front of the audience and I’m like, ‘When you press your Golden Buzzer it doesn’t mean it’s for you, you give somebody else the attention’, which he just doesn’t understand because it’s always all about him!”

His comments come after David spoke about Simon’s recent weight loss, complimenting his slimmed down figure.

When asked to compare footage from the early years at Britain’s Got Talent, he said: “Well, Simon looks younger now, which is curious. I don’t know how he managed that!”

This weekend will see the first group of returning champions battle it out to be crowned the ultimate winner.

Two acts from each episode will make it through the finale, one being a Golden Buzzer act chosen by one of the judges or presenters and another is voted by fans in the audience.

The winner of the show will receive the champions trophy as well as a cash prize.

Some of the returning acts performing include Paul Potts, George Sampson, Boogie Storm and the dancing stormtroopers.

And it wouldn’t be the same without the Britain’s Got Talent presenters Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly who will be returning to host.

Britain’s Got Talent: The Champions starts Saturday on ITV at 8pm.

Britain’s Got Talent has spent the past thirteen years showcasing the most incredible talent the nation has to offer, and fans are in luck as the show is set to return to ITV this Saturday with Britain’s Got Talent: The Champions.

However, the competition will not be as fans remember it as this special edition of the show will see both finalists and winners of the show battle it out to be crowned the ultimate champion.

A whole host of memorable acts have travelled to Wembley Arena for this year’s show including Paul Potts, George Sampson, Stavros Flatley and Twist and Pulse.

However, despite an exciting lineup, Judge Simon Cowell has revealed there is one thing causing him concern ahead of the show’s start date.

Simon Cowell will of course be returning to the judging panel alongside Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon and David Walliams, and the judge has revealed his only concern is the length of the series.

Speaking ahead of the show Simon revealed he would like to see more of the talent before having to make the tough decision of who to send home.

Simon revealed: “My only concern and the downside of only having five shows before the final is that we’ve actually seen some amazing talent get sent home.

“The talent is off the charts! If we look at doing this again I’d like to do more heats and a couple of semi-finals before the final.”

The talent agent also revealed it was the stories he has loved the most about the show.

He added: “Being able to return to Paul Potts and Connie Talbot and George Sampson, people like that.

“People will go, ‘I had no idea the career you’ve had off the back of the show,’ because with some of them when they are not on screen people can sometimes forget about them but actually they’ve had worldwide careers thanks to Britain’s Got Talent.

“If you didn’t have that, you’d genuinely question why we would ever make the show.”

Perhaps one of the most memorable acts was 2009 finalist Susan Boyle, who rose to fame after her performance of ‘I Dreamed a Dream’.

The star recently spoke out about one of her major regrets during her time on the show as she revealed she would have gone for a completely different look had she had the chance to go back.

Speaking on America’s Got Talent this week, the star revealed she wasn’t a fan of her beige dress and white shoes.

Susan revealed: “If I was doing my audition all over again, I would make sure I wasn’t dressed in the dark for a start.

“I mean white shoes with black tights, you don’t do that do you?”

She added: “If I was to dress myself I’d probably have a gown on again, probably a green one. And I’d have nice shoes, with my hair done up nice.”

Susan went on to say: “What was I like? I was like a brush on legs!”

Britain’s Got Talent: The Champions starts Saturday August 31st 8pm on ITV.

Britain’s Got Talent: Simon Cowell breaks down after reunion with former contestant https://briefnews.eu/britains-got-talent-simon-cowell-breaks-down-after-reunion-with-former-contestant/ https://briefnews.eu/britains-got-talent-simon-cowell-breaks-down-after-reunion-with-former-contestant/#respond Mon, 29 Jul 2019 14:21:39 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/britains-got-talent-simon-cowell-breaks-down-after-reunion-with-former-contestant/

Julia appeared on the ITV talent show as part of dance group MerseyGirls back in 2017.

She had explained how it was set to be their last project together as she required surgery to correct her scoliosis and she wouldn’t be able to dance afterwards.

Although the group didn’t win the contest, Simon Cowell was so moved by the youngster’s plight, he paid £175,000 of his own money for Julia to have an advanced operation which wouldn’t leave her unable to dance.

Julia is returning to screens as the show is coming back for a all-stars series entitled Britain’s Got Talent: The Champions.

Filming was underway at Wembley Arena over the weekend and when Julia appeared on Saturday, Simon was reduced to tears according to The Sun.

Julia is said to have backflipped across the stage as MerseyGirls performed once again.

Following the exciting comeback Amanda Holden prompted Simon to give his response, only managing a few words before handing the mic over to his fellow judges as he teared up.

Simon then walked away from the desk to compose himself before addressing the girls.

“All I want to talk about is one person’s strength and, beyond that, the friendship and support you all have, which we saw the first time we met you,” Simon declared.

He added: “To see you able to come back tonight…it just means everything…”

Meanwhile, Alesha Dixon said: “That just made my heart soar. Simon, I love you, I love what you’ve done for her.”

An air date for Britain’s Got Talent: The Champions has not yet been announced.

However hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly revealed during the Britain’s Got Talent final a few months ago that it would be airing “later in the year”.

BGT legend Susan Boyle was scheduled to appear in the programme but it has been reported that she will no longer be able to take part.

It comes as America’s Got Talent aired a Champions season earlier this year which she was a part of.

It has been suggested that the singer’s busy schedule may mean she won’t be able to appear.

A spokesperson for Susan told The Sun: “Susan has a busy year ahead with lots of performances coming up, trips to the US, headlining BBC Proms in September, as well as preparing for her upcoming tour.

“She is enjoying celebrating the decade since she first appeared on BGT and her life changing for the better.

“She loved being part of AGT Champions and, whether she is able to make it or not, wishes the contestants taking part on BGT Champions the best of luck.”

Britain’s Got Talent: The Champions is expected to air later this year on ITV.
